Warning message on NDMP backups
Running OSB version 10.4.0.2 on Solaris11 update 1. When we attempt a client NDMP backup operation the jobs complete but with the following warnings about HW encryption. Does anyone have any idea why we would be seeing this. The backups are being written to a tape drive that is locally attached to the OSB server. The NDMP client does not have any tape devices attached.
Warning: unable to reset encryption - reverting to software encryption.
Turning off encryption. Encryption of NDMP clients requires hardware encryption. hwencdrive=no, hwenctape=no
Any help would be appreciated.
It wouldn't matter if the tape drive is attached to the NAS or another client in this scenario. At first blush, it appears as though encryption is configured within OSB. As the error message indicates, encrypting NDMP data requires the tape drive to perform the encryption. Another words, OSB cannot use software encryption as OSB isn't installed on the NAS. Are you sure that the backup schedule or default/policy doesn't have encryption on?

regards,
KasparHi ,
Seems as if only the online Mirrorlogs are missing and the original logfiles must be there,,otherwise your database would have crashed.
Check the original log directories('/oracle/UQ1/origlogA/ & '/oracle/UQ1/origlogB/' and you must be having files there and proceed as following.
1. If the database is shut down
just copy the member that is still available to the locatation & name of the missing member
2. If the database is open
drop the member out of the group and recreate it sqlplus '/ as sysdba'
SQL> ALTER DATABASE DROP LOGFILE MEMBER '<path/filename>';
SQL> ALTER DATABASE ADD LOGFILE MEMBER '<path/filename>' to group X;
If the disk, on which the member was created on, does not exist anymore, you can specify a different location in the add logfile member command
This should help.

PSAPPD1 ONLINE* ONLINEHi again
Please let me know whether we need to put the parameter remote_login_password=exclusive in pfile or spfile
I prefer the spfile, just:
SQL> alter system set remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive scope = spfile;
To grant sysoper to system:
SQL> grant sysoper to system;
And restart the instance.

Post relates to: Treo 755p (Sprint)I just switched from a Zire M150 to the TX and I am also getting this message. When I was using the Zire, I saw the pocketmirror program and files on my pc but now that I made the install for the TX, all of that info is gone. I looked on the install cd that came with the TX and did not find any pocketmirror files or drivers. Is this a left over from the software that was used to hotsync the Zire?
If so, is there a way to stop the message.
On the other hand, if the .dll file is needed, I would appreciate other tips as the TX info does not have any pocketmirror references.
thanks,

Warning message on BB Desktop Software.
Hello, there was a new update for my curve. So I plugged it up to v4.7 of desktop, and it wanted me to update it. so I did. I brought up a warning message, saying : " After completing the loading operation, you must activate you device wirelessly to continue to send and recieve messages and use other blackberry services. If you dont want to continue with this loading operation, click cancel." Um, what does this mean?
Funny quote-- " Want an Iphone theme? Buy an Iphone."after the update, your device will reboot, upon the reboot you will need to go through the wizard again... during the wizard.. you need to turn your network on... it asks you and you say yes... then after wizard is done... goto options.. host routing table... menu... register now
please do a backup befre you do the upgrade and pull out your media card if you have one -
Hello expert,
I'm just wondering whether we can set a maximum number of incoming connections on ACE?
In such a way, if the limit is reached, users who still trying to access the website will be prompted with some kind of warning message. like
"system is busy, try again later"
please let me know. Thanks.
Sincerely,
AndrewHello Andrew,
Mmm, maybe you can take a look of this link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ace/vA5_1_0/command/reference/rsrce.html
Perhaps you can assign some specific resources for connections but it will be good to check this your Cisco SE.
On the rserver level, we have the following:
Configuring Real Server Connection Limits
To prevent a real server from being overburdened, you can limit the maximum number of active connections to the server. You can set the maximum and minimum connection thresholds by using the conn-limit command in either real server host or real server redirect configuration mode. The syntax of this command is as follows:
conn-limit max maxconns min minconns
The keywords and arguments are as follows:
•max maxconns—Specifies the maximum allowable number of active connections to a real server. When the number of connections exceeds the maxconns threshold value, the ACE stops sending connections to the real server and assigns the real server a state of OUTOFSERVICE until the number of connections falls below the configured minconns value. Enter an integer from 2 to 4294967295. The default is 4294967295.
•min minconns—Specifies the minimum number of connections that the number of connections must fall below before sending more connections to a server after it has exceeded the maximum connections threshold. Enter an integer from 2 to 429496729. The default is 4294967295. The minconns value must be less than or equal to the maxconns value.
Obviously the ACE cannot send messages like that, you can combine perhaps the configuration above with a backup serverfarm or something like that.
Do not hesitate to let us know your feedback and mark it if it is useful for you
Hope these details help.

Webmail giving some starnge Warning messages! Please Help
Hi,
After upgrading to Snow Leopard Server, I'm getting strange warning messages in my web mail,
Find the warning messages below, Looking forward to your support.

Thanks,
Gulab Pashafirst backup the file you're going to be editing:
sudo cp /etc/php.ini /etc/php.ini.bak
then edit the file:
sudo nano /etc/php.ini
then hit CONTROL-W (to search for something)
then type "date.time"
then hit RETURN
that should bring you to an area under modules that looks like the following:
; Module Settings ;
[Date]
; Defines the default timezone used by the date functions
; http://php.net/date.timezone
;date.timezone =
You can lookup your timezone at http://php.net/date.timezone (for instance"America/New_York")
then take out the semicolon and type your timezone after the equal sign so it looks like this:
; Module Settings ;
[Date]
; Defines the default timezone used by the date functions
; http://php.net/date.timezone
date.timezone = America/New_York
then hit CONTROL-X (to quit nano)
then hit Y (to save your changes)
then hit RETURN (to use the same file name) -
I just bought aperture and downloaded it from app store. when I try to open the app I get a warning message that says: There was an error opening the database for the library “~/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary”. The only option the is to quit. What is wrong?
Hi,
not sure what the problem might be, but you can try the following:
While pressing ALT+CMD on the keyboard, click on the Aperture icon in the dock: Aperture then opens in a special "recovery mode", and you're prompted to choose what kind of repair you need: Repair Permissions / Repair Database / Rebuild Database
Considering the situation, I'd recommend you to try "the "Repair Permissions" option first.
If that isn't enough (and it may well be the case), then go straight for the "Rebuild Database" option; it's a non-destructive opration anyway, but since you've just installed Aperture you shouldn't have anything valuable in the default library...
NOTE: if you do have some pictures in the library, instead, do a backup first! Time Machine is your friend
Another option would be to launch Aperture while keeping only the ALT (option) key pressed: Aperture will ask you what library you want to open, or you can choose to create a new one from scratch.
Good luck!

I have an external HD that I use for my Time Machine backups. I keep the drive in a fireproof safe when it is not plugged in, which is 99.9% of the time. The problem I have is that every 10 days I get a warning message that Time Machine hasn't completed a back-up in a while. The Mac Mini I use is my media center PC. I really only need to back it up when I add media to it. If I don't add any media to my library, there is no need to back anything up. Is there any way to lengthen the amount of time between getting these warnings to something like 30 days? It's a mild pain having to pull the drive out and let it run a backup when I haven't added anything to my media library.
Thanks!Bummer. That's often the reason I plug it in- just to stop the warning messages. The only other time I plug it in is if I add media or anything else I want to have backed up. Our Mac Mini runs 24/7 as our DVR (eyeTV) and media center feeding our appleTV's and ipod's and iphone's. I control everything with a Harmony remote. It's a pain (especially for the wife or mother-in-law) to have to pull the keyboard out and acknowledge the warning message when they're just trying to watch TV. The warning message keeps coming back until I finally back it up. If I don't add any media or forget to plug the drive in again before the 10 days are up, the whole thing starts all over again.

Getting and warning message when trying to sync N8...
Hi,
I have Nokia N80 with firmware ver 4x…..I updated my PC suit with the current version i.e 6.82.21 after that when I tried to backup my phone I got a warning message as “the connected phone doesnot have messages support installed.Messages cannot be backed up.View help to find instructin how to install support plugin.”
Can anyone pls help and let me know how to install mentioned plug-in?Don't open help. Open PC Suite main page and just select Help -> PC Suite support. You can install that support also by opening "Get Connected" and connect your phone using that. At the end Get Connected wizard should install that same support.

Red warning message flashes at top?
I've been noticing some really weird stuff with my iPhone 4 lately and I'm wondering if my phone is compromised in some way.
1. On a phone call once my phone just dialied out on its own while I was talking, and I started to hear a message saying "this caller is not receiving calls now" or something similar, but I was still on my original call. It wasn't put on hold or anything, I just saw the call out appear on my screen and I had to hang it up.
2. When ending a call, I sometimes see a red bar lower at the top, looks like it might be a warning message or something, but it flashes by so quickly I can't see any text it rolls back up before anything shows.
Does this mean my phone is being surveiled or something? (Ex. husband is known for hiring private investigators to follow me, so that's why I'm so concerned).
I was thinking of making a backup and then restoring the phone, but I'm afraid that if I do the backup, it won't make a difference when I add all my stuff back in.. or worse yet, I'm not sure if it would compromise my computer too.
thanks~1 sounds like issues with the proximity sensor and your ear/cheek is touching something when the screen should be asleep. If you have a case and/or screen protector on the phone, remove them and see if it behaves better. They can interfere with the proximity sensor depending on the design.
2 Nothing to worry about. Probably the other party ending the call at the same time and the phone was going to let you know the call was terminated, but oh... never mind... you hung up too... If the phone is not jailbroken, it's virtually impossible for your ex to be using it to track you. The only exception would be if you have find my iphone set up and he knows the password... If there's a chance of that, change it. -
Repeating warning message everytime I sync - help
Everytime I sync my iphone (4) i keep getting warning messages for "a newer version of x app already exists in library. do you want to replace it?" It does this for a lot of the apps I have and it doesn't matter which option i select, it still comes up again the next time I sync.
What gives? Its getting very old having to choose an option everytime for 8-12 different apps.Have you checked to make sure the Date and Time are set correctly on your iPod Touch? Did you also make sure that the time zone was correct as well?
I'm assuming the date, time, and time zone are also set correctly on your iMac?
Have you tried restoring the iPod from a backup in iTunes to see if that helps?

This is due to multiple streams/jobs/snapshots running at the same time and this will go away if i uncheck multiple streams in netbackup.
Checked NetApp forms and NetBackup forums and did not get any solution. Looking to see a way where i can increase the number of concurrent snapshots for a particular filer or an option on NDMP.
Thank you very much for your time.Hi, Try restarting the NDMP services and clear the orphan snapshots. Also,The amount of concurrent NDMP streams is limited to the amount of memory the controller has. You can see the amount in the command output "sysconfig -a".Based on that you can reduce concurrent backup jobs Thanks
