WCMPlaceHolder Service doesnot return Dynamic List contents

We hvae a dynamic list element in a place holder and when we call WCMPlaceHOLDER service from my CIS we cannot get contents of the list.
Does this service support dynamic lists or a customisation is required?
regards,
deepak

Hi
There is no customization needed but the only thing you need to check (I mean uncheck the option) of Limit scope of search option. Basically the issue is that you have a search that has "limit scope' set. What that does is restrict the query to only match items that contain the current site Id in their xWesbites metadata field.
The problem is that when you use WCM_PLACEHOLDER you are not within the context of a Site Studio site so there is no current site id.
You will need to either not do a limit scope search or you will need to provide a siteId paramater to the WCM_PLACEHOLDER call.
I myself faced this issue and once I removed the limit search scope (unchecked ) I could get the results displayed with the WCM_PLACEHOLDER option.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

  • EJB as Web Service doesnot Return value

    Hi All,
    I have cerated an EJB Wihich fetches the vendor data from MDM database,this EJB I have exposed as a web service.
    This Ejb returns an array of object of java class which contains 7 attributes,
    Like Vendor number,
          City,
          country,
          Name,
          company code,
          purchase organization.
    Now when i debug the EJB it is returning proper values with  all attribute.
    But in the web services response am able to get same number of records but attribute list is less...like I am getting the value of only City ,country and Vendor Number although EJB is returning all the values.
    If any one can help me with the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hai,
    Is that returning java class is having setters and getters, and implementing serializable.
    look like
    public class beanToTest implements Serializable{
         private String vendornumber=null;
         private String city=null;
         private String country=null;
         private String name=null;
         private String companyCode=null;
         private String purchaseOrganization=null;
    @return
         public String getCity() {
              return city;
    @return
         public String getCompanyCode() {
              return companyCode;
    @return
         public String getCountry() {
              return country;
    @return
         public String getName() {
              return name;
    @return
         public String getPurchaseOrganization() {
              return purchaseOrganization;
    @return
         public String getVendornumber() {
              return vendornumber;

  • Read Dynamic Selection contents of a Variant for QE51N

    Hi Folks,
    Need your help here !
    In my report, I wish to read the Variants along with their contents created for transaction QE51N.
    I tried using function module RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS and its working good, but not to my requirements. The function module returns only the selection screen contents of a given variant. It does not return the contents in 'Dynamic Selection' (Free Selection).
    I read somewhere that the function module returns dynamic selection contents only if the report use Logical Database. To my understanding, the program for QE51N (SAPLQEES) do not use LDB.
    So is there any way by which I can get dynamic selection contents of a variant?
    Any suggestions / pointers would be a great help.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Sud.

    Hi,
    Did you find somethings? I have the same issue.
    I would like to add some new fields on Dynamic Selection screen of QE51N.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Pl/sql web service returning a list of results

    I am able to publish a pl/sql package as a web service that returns a single result. However, when I try to return a list of results, I get an error in jdeveloper when I select the package and invoke publish as web service.
    I use a simple pl/sql package:
    create type longcredit_obj as object (
    credit varchar2(200),
    parlrepid number(6),
    mbrid number(6),
    rdgid number(6))
    create type longcredit_list as table of longcredit_obj
    create or replace package longcredit_pck as
    function get_longcredit (initials in varchar2) return longcredit_list;
    end longcredit_pck;
    create or replace package body longcredit_pck as
    function get_longcredit (
    initials in varchar2) return longcredit_list
    as
    i integer;
    list longcredit_list;
    cursor c_credit is
    select a.credit, a.parlrepid, a.mbrid, a.rdgid
    from member_credits_test_vw a
    where upper(init) = upper(initials);
    begin
    list := longcredit_list();
    for rec in c_credit
    loop
    i:= list.last;
    list(i) := longcredit_obj(null, null, null, null);
    list(i).credit := rec.credit;
    list(i).parlrepid := rec.parlrepid;
    list(i).mbrid := rec.mbrid;
    list(i).rdgid := rec.rdgid;
    end loop;
    return list;
    end get_longcredit;
    end longcredit_pck;
    Is this a feature that is available?
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
    Carmen.
    I am running jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.0 and database v. 10.1.0.4.0.

    Hi Steffen,
    I did manage to get it to work by doing the following:
    drop type longcredit_list
    drop type longcredit_obj
    create type longcredit_obj as object
    (credit varchar2(200),
    parlrepid number(6),
    mbrid number(6),
    rdgid number(6))
    create type longcredit_list as table of longcredit_obj
    create or replace package longcredit_pck as
    function get_longcredit(initials in varchar2) return longcredit_list;
    end longcredit_pck;
    create or replace package body longcredit_pck as
    function get_longcredit(initials in varchar2) return longcredit_list
    as
    v_longcredit_obj longcredit_obj:=longcredit_obj(null,null,null,null);
    v_longcredit_list longcredit_list:=longcredit_list();
    i number:=1;
    cursor getlist is
    select distinct a.credit, a.parlrepid, a.mbrid, a.rdgid
    from member_credits_test_vw a
    where upper(init) = upper(initials)
    order by a.parlrepid;
    begin
    for rec in getlist loop
    v_longcredit_obj.credit := rec.credit;
    v_longcredit_obj.parlrepid := rec.parlrepid;
    v_longcredit_obj.mbrid := rec.mbrid;
    v_longcredit_obj.rdgid := rec.rdgid;
    v_longcredit_list.extend;
    v_longcredit_list(i):=v_longcredit_obj;
    i:=i+1;
    end loop;
    return v_longcredit_list;
    end get_longcredit;
    end longcredit_pck;
    Also, before deploying, in jdeveloper, in the deploy file, I select the property filters under web-inf\classes and check all the classes that are unchecked (see thread id 505217).
    Also, the database I'm using now is v. 10.2.0.3.0.
    Thanks for your suggestion!
    Carmen.

  • TDMS List Contents returns groups for previously opened file

    I get a directory listing of TDMS files, then loop through file by file, using TDMS List Contents to retreive the groups found in the particulare file.  I open each file, list its contents, and close it before opening and listing the next file.
    If a file has no groups, TDMS List Contents returns the group list from the previous file.
    How can I prevent this behavior?

    Unfortunately, the original VIs were developed on a Classified system, so I can't include them here.  However, I've created similar VIs that demonstrate the equivalent problem.
    Run the 'create files' VI to generate appropriate TDMS files, and the 'list contents' VI to demonstrate the issue.
    Note that these VI's were created in LabVIEW 9 SP1 (Version 9.0.1 32-bit).
    Thanks for taking a look it this!!

  • Is WPC dynamic list recursively showing content?

    Hi guys,
    I have this KM folder structure with WPC's articles:
    FOLDER 1
    |
    |_ FOLDER A
    |     |_ article a.1
    |     |_ article a.2
    |
    |_ FOLDER B
    |     |_ article b.1
    |     |_ article b.2
    |
    |_ article 1.1
    |_ article 1.2
    articles 1.1 and 1.2 are direct children of Folder1 (ie: they are sibling for Folder A and Folder B). I hope it's clear :S
    Here comes the trouble. I'm using a WPC Dynamic List pointing to Folder 1, but instead of showing only articles 1.1 and 1.2, the list is populated with ALL articles within Folder 1 and Folder A and Folder B.
    I'm guessing it is reading the folder structure recursively. I need to display ONLY the two last articles (article 1.1 and 1.2).
    Is this a bug or, by the opposite, is the expected behavior?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Marcelo

    Thanks for the answer.
    Guess i have to put everything I need in the article element so i do not need to show the page.
    Another question occured to me while I was doing that:
    When I navigate from a Dynamic List to an Element, it should be possible to navigate back and forth with the buttons I created using the history api.
    Instead of the "<a href..." in the default dynamic list I created an onclick event. Right now im trying to navigate to the article with its guid and the method "EPCM.doNavigate(...)" but until know i haven't been able to get it done.
    Is it even possible to reach that goal and in case it is am I on the right track or is there a better approach available?!
    Thanks in advance...
    Greetings,

  • Using variable in dynamic list queries

    How can we use a variable value like metadata value of the parent content in the dynamic list query?
    I tried something following ways but the query was not picking up the value of xCountries.
    dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> xCountries
    dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> `xCountries`
    dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> `$xCountries`
    dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> `<!--$xCountries-->`
    None of them worked. But when I printed the <!--$xCountries--> on the secondary page for the selected country the value is getting printed.
    Regards,
    Pratap

    Hi Bex,
    You were right. Eval function call was helpful here.
    The problem was resolved only to an extent by using the eval function. This is
    evaluating the query string given in parameters window for ssQueryText to
    correct value. We used the eval() function in the dynamic list fragment. The
    format of query we were trying earlier was incorrect. The correct format is like
    this
    dDocType <matches> `City` <AND> xCountries <matches> `<$xCountries$>` <AND>
    xStates <matches> `<$xStates$>`
    There is another problem though. We are able to add new states or cities by
    going to the specific state page or to the cit page and then edit it. But if we
    click edit on a secondary page e.g. on a State page(which contains list of
    cities) the correct values for cities are not getting populated in the Cities
    dynamic list in state edit window. Possible cause is that the eval function is
    not called in the edit window (which shows all applets), instead the eval
    function is called only in dynamic list fragment which is evaluated in the
    secondary page template for State. How can we make the eval function execute in
    the edit window as well?
    In fact the query is failing from paramters window itself. If I use Test Query
    it is returning 0 results.
    Is there a work around to address this problem? Hope I didn't confuse much.
    Regards,
    Pratap

  • Dynamic list renderer - ArrayIndexOutOfBounds on next() (bug?)

    I was inspired by "HOWTO: Use BC4J HTML Field Renderers" - so I made dynamical list renderer which executes query and shows one value from foreign table:
    public class DynamicListFieldRenderer extends ReadOnlyField
    with method:
    public String renderToString(Row row) {
    AttributeDef aDef = getAttributeDef();
    String sQuery = (String)aDef.getProperty("LIST_QUERY");
    String sDisplayAttribute = (String)aDef.getProperty("LIST_DISPLAY_COLUMN");
    String sDataAttribute = (String)aDef.getProperty("LIST_DATA_COLUMN");
    Object obj = row.getAttribute(aDef.getName());
    if (obj == null) return "";
    String value = obj.toString();
    /* change query - add WHERE clause */
    String orderBy = "";
    StringBuffer sbQuery;
    int whereIdx = sQuery.toUpperCase().indexOf("WHERE");
    int orderByIdx = sQuery.toUpperCase().indexOf("ORDER BY");
    if (orderByIdx != -1) {
    orderBy = sQuery.substring(orderByIdx);
    sbQuery = new StringBuffer(sQuery.substring(0,orderByIdx));
    else
    sbQuery = new StringBuffer(sQuery);
    /* zpracuj WHERE */
    if (whereIdx == -1) sbQuery.append(" WHERE ");
    else sbQuery.append(" AND ");
    sbQuery.append("(");
    sbQuery.append(sDataAttribute); sbQuery.append("="); sbQuery.append("'"); sbQuery.append(value);
    sbQuery.append("') ");
    /* zpracuj ORDER BY */
    sQuery = sbQuery.append(orderBy).toString();
    /* make dynamical ViewObject */
    qView = ds.getApplicationModule().createViewObjectFromQueryStmt(null, sQuery);
    String returnValue = "";
    Row foundRow = qView.next();
    if (foundRow != null) {
    Object displayObj = foundRow.getAttribute(sDisplayAttribute);
    if (displayObj != null) returnValue = displayObj.toString();
    /* delete dynamical ViewObject */
    ((ViewObject)qView).remove();
    return returnValue;
    When I use this renderer for one attribute, everything is OK. But when I use it for two attributes, there appears a problem.
    Scenario (point 1. is not necessary):
    1. Browse.jsp for my table with special renderers - OK
    2. Browse.jsp for foreign table - OK
    3. Browse.jsp for my table with special renderers -> Exception:
    JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException, msg=0
    oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException, msg=0 void oracle.jbo.JboException.(java.lang.Throwable) JboException.java:339 oracle.jbo.Row oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowSetIteratorImpl.next() ViewRowSetIteratorImpl.java:1292 oracle.jbo.Row oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowSetImpl.next() ViewRowSetImpl.java:2206 oracle.jbo.Row oracle.jbo.server.ViewObjectImpl.next() ViewObjectImpl.java:4165 java.lang.String or.jbo.html.DynamicListFieldRenderer.renderToString(oracle.jbo.Row) DynamicListFieldRenderer.java:79 int or.jbo.html.jsp.datatags.RenderValueTag.doStartTag() RenderValueTag.java:51 void dt.DataTableComponent._jspService(javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest, javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse) DataTableComponent.jsp:128
    So the problem is when I call method ViewObjectImpl.next().... (see above inside method renderToString())
    Exception is throwed inside oracle class - so I have no idea, where's the problem...
    Can anybody help me?
    Thank you for any comments

  • How to use dynamic list box in survey builder?

    Hello,
    Could someone give me a little bit of thread? How to use dynamic list box in survey builder?

    Hi Liu,
    Dynamic combo boxes::A combo box is dynamic if it references a document property for which a value set is defined in the configuration (System Administration ® System Configuration ® Content Management ® Global Services ® Property Metadata ® Properties ® Parameter Allowed Values).
    At runtime (when you open the creation form) the system reads these values from the configuration and displays them in the dropdown list.
    If you link a combo box for which list entries already exist to a document property with a value set, the system asks whether you want to delete the list entries. it is recommend that you accept this suggestion and delete the list entries from the XML Forms Builder. Otherwise inconsistencies could arise between the entries in the XML Forms Builder and the value set in the configuration. This can cause errors when saving.

  • Using JavaScript & Dynamic Lists - ?? need help

    Hello all! Sorry to post this under an unrelated topic (JSP & JSTL), but there wasn't a JavaScript forum.
    Anyway, before I ask my questions...read the following:
    You'll find the code for my example at the end of this post. Also, I've posted my code as html pages in here...but my original code was in the form of servlets.
    Here's what I wanted to accomplish:
    1) html page has a form with two select lists
    2) select one option from the first select
    3) javascript code takes care of populating the 2nd list with options stored in an array, based on the first selection made in the 1st list.
    4) each <option>'s value is set to the page hello.html
    Piece of cake! That all works, but here's the real issue:
    Let's say you click on an option from the 1st <select> list, which populates the 2nd <select> list with some options. You then click on the 2nd box, select an option, and it jumps to hello.html.
    Now you press the back button - here are some things I observed:
    First, let me note, that for my example, I'm using car makes for the 1st list, and car models for the 2nd.
    * notice that only the 1st select list is still showing the selection you made, but the 2nd one shows nothing. Plus, when you click on the 2nd list, all that is shown is, in my example, "Then a Model". Not the original options that populated this list, when you had selected a car make from the first.
    *also, if you select "Then a Model" in the 2nd, it will error out, because there isn't a link set for that option. I would actually prefer that the page doesn't jump anywhere if "Then a Model" was to be selected. But I can probably fix that later.
    * If you try to select the car make you had previously selected again in the 1st menu, it still shows the same thing in the 2nd. Not the car models that it showed you when you had first run the example.
    *) You can get the model options for, just for example, "Acura" back into the 2nd, but you would have to select Audi or BMW and then select Acura again.
    *) if you select the "Select a Make" option in the 1st, it doesn't display "Then a Model" in the second as I would like. But I can probably fix that later.
    Now, here are my questions:
    1) Does anybody know how I can keep the selections "selected" in the page, when a user comes back to it when they press the "back" button?
    2) Do I have to store the options selected somewhere, so the page "remembers" what was selected?
    3) Would it help if I used session tracking?
    I was told that the problems I've described are because I've implemented a dynamic listbox.
    The value is supposed to be lost if I move to the next page and then click back. Would any of you agree?
    Any ideas/suggestions at all would be very much appreciated!
    ************************ HERE'S THE CODE **********************************

    if(makeName == "Acura") {
    // fill first position in Model select list with the Then a Model, so the
    // user knows to select a Model after a Make
    Model.options[0].text = "Then a Model";
    Model.options[0].value = "Then a Model";

  • Search for documents using External Data on list content type

    hi,
    say we have clients in an external database, we create the external content type for use in sharepoint 2013
    we create two content types, Quote and Order for use in a library
    we create a document library that uses the above content types
    we then add a column for the external data ( in this case Client Name- but also include ID) , we have the option to copy to content type selected. so now library shows 'Client' and 'Client:ID'
    I believe that column gets added to  list content types based on the 2 document content types.
    so we have list items , which have a document , a content type and a piece of data from the external LOB system.
    now that is fine, works great, however, how do you configure the content search web part to return documents based on the piece of external data - ie client:ID ? or Client Name ?
    I can map the client:ID to one of the Int00 managed properties and crawl etc - but do not see a way to use that to return documents
    any help would be appreciated :)
    thanks
    MrP

    Create a scopr with that in managed properies and then u can get results from  external sources

  • Dynamic list of values in CR 2008 - request of login to database

    I am using CR2008 with VB2005. I created simple application which generate report on different SQL Server 2005 databases.
    Report uses OLE.DB connection to SQL Server, I pass logon information in VB using "SA" username and password. The same simple report works great on different databases with one exception: if parameter (dynamic list of values) is used in report it runs correctly only on database it was created (connection to this database is saved in report and can be seen in Database->Set Datasource Location). Changing connection to other databases in VB during runtime causes CR to ask for username and password (in standard parameter window). It looks, like Crystal have one connection for report and the other for dynamic list of values parameter. I pass connection information to report using ConnectionInfo(). I loop through alll tables in report and apply connection:
    For Each crTable In crTables
                    crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
                    crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
                    crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
    Next
    I tried to pass connection information also to parameter but I couldn't find such possibility.

    This is a known issue (Tracking number is ADAPT01333806.) and a note has been written,  unfortunately it is not yet published. Below is the note content, including a work-around / resolution. You may also want to try FP 2.3, see that helps. (I'll break this post into two as I'll loose the formatting if I don't.
    Reproducing the Issue
    Use Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 to create a report with dynamic parameter(s)
    Use the following code from the Crystal Reports SDK for VS .NET
    Dim crDatabase As Database
    Dim crTables As TablesDim crTable As Table
    Dim crTableLogOnInfo As TableLogOnInfo
    Dim crConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo
    crReportDocument.Load("<path>")
    crReportDocument.Refresh()
    crConnectionInfo = New ConnectionInfo()
    With crConnectionInfo
         .ServerName = "<New Server Name>"
          .Password = "<password>"
    End With
    crDatabase = crReportDocument,Database
    crTables = crDatabase.Tables
    For Each crTable In crTables
         crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
         crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
         crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
    Next
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
    The above code works with Crystal Reports 2008 SP 1

  • How to add a column to a list created with the Dynamic List Wizard to display the values of the fiel

    Hi,
    ADDT, Vista, WAMP5.0
    We have 2 tables: clients_cli (id_cli, name_cli, tel_cli, and several more fields) and cases_cas (id_cas, idcli_cas, court_cas, and a lot of other fields).
    Clients may have many cases, so table cases_cas have a foreign key named idcli_cas, just to determine which case belongs to which client.
    We designed the lists of the two tables with the Dynamic List Wizard and the corresponding forms with Dynamic Form Wizard.
    These two forms are linked with the Convert Dynamic List and Form Wizards, which added a button to clients list named "add case".
    We add a client and then the system returns to the clients list displaying all clients, we look for the new client just added and then press "add case", which opens the Dynamic Form for cases, enter all case details and everything processes ok.
    However, when we view the cases list it display all the details of the case, including the column and values for the foreign key idcli_cas. As you can image, it is quite difficult for a human to remember the clients ids.
    So, in the cases list we added a another column, named it Name, to display the names of the clients along with cases details. We also created another recordset rsCli, selected the clients_cli table, displaying all columns, set filter id_cli = Form Variable = idcli_cas then press the Test button and everything displays perfect. Press ok.
    Then, we position the cursor inside the corresponding cell of the new Name column, go to Bindings, click on name_cli and then click on insert. The dynamic field is inserted into the table cell as expected, Save the page, and test in browser.
    The browser call the cases list but fails to display the values of the Name column. The Name column is simply empty.
    This issue creates a huge problem that makes our application too difficult to use.
    What are we doing wrong?
    Please help.
    Charles

    1.     Start transaction PM01, Create Infotype, by entering the transaction code.
    You access the Create Infotype screen.
    2.     Choose List Screen.
    3.     In the Infotype no. field, enter the four-digit number of the infotype you want to create.
    When you specify the infotype number, please remember to enter any leading zeros.
    4.     In the Screen Number field, enter the screen number of the list screen you want to enhance.
    5.     Choose Create.
    The Dictionary: Initial screen appears:
    6.     Create the list screen structure.
    7.     Choose Activate.
    8.     Return to the Enhance List Screen in the Enhance Infotypes transaction (PM01).
    9.     Choose Create All.
    The additional fields are displayed on the list screen, however, they contain no data.
    The fields can be filled in the FORM routine FILL-LISTSTRUCT in the generated program ZPnnnn00. The FORM routine is called for each data record in the list.
    Structure ZPLIS is identified when it is generated with a TABLES statement in the program ZPnnnn00.
    The fields can be filled from the Pnnnn structure or by reading text tables.

  • Dynamically Updating Content Server Portlets

    [urlHi, I am currently having difficulty dynamically updating content server portlets.  I have a portlet of the following form:[/url]
    ArticleName Author Title Date mystory author1 title1 04/05/01
    story2 author2 title2 06/07/04
    story author3 title3 01/02/03
    So I have this table where each one of the line items is an article in the content server. So, for example the first line item is an article "mystory" by "author1", with title "title1" and date "04/05/01" additionally there is an article text field, but this isn't displayed unless I click on the article name.
    I can set up the basics of this portlet, but when I try to add any real functionality I run into one of two problems.
    First Problem: Passing Information
    I cannot find a way to pass information between content portlets. For instance, if the user would like to "re-sort" this table based on "date", I would like to have the user click on the "date" column heading and then reload the page. To do so, I would have to pass the section name back to the page so that it could resort based on this data. I have not found anyway to effectively pass information to a content server portlet. I am building these pages through use of the presentation template framework (so I can have access to the content items) but that seems to change the way portlets are handled.
    I got around this limitation with a regular portlet by creating an intermediary page which captures passed information and stores it to the session state. Once the information was in the session state, it is accessible to the portlet on the first page. However, this only works because remote portlets do not change their session id once loaded. Content Server portlets, on the other hand, change their session id after every reload of the browser or page change. I can send information from a content server portlet to an intermediary page, but I cannot send it back to the portlet because the session id has changed so I have no idea of knowing where to send the information. I can write it to a session state, but by the time I return to the portal page, the content server has changed its session id so it does not know where to look any longer.
    I suppose it would be possible to create an application state variable and append it with some static token (if there is some static variable per portal session) but I would rather not have to deal with application variables if at all possible.
    Second Problem: Dynamically Updating PCS Tags
    Even if I were able to the pass information back to my content server portlet, I run into another issue. The easiest way to sort content server items is using the filter command in the pcs:foreach tag. So, if I wanted to sort by author name, I could do something like the following <pcs:foreach var="item" expr="filter(folderByName('content'), filtered.name == '"name")" or something like that (the syntax may be incorrect, I just wrote this off the top of my head). However, it appears that the way the presentation templates are compiled goes in the order of PCS tags THEN JSP. So I would have no way of dynamically changing the variable on which I sort. For example, if I clicked on "Date" above in my table, I would like to be able to dynamically change my code so that I sort on date, and not name. I cannot find a solution to this problem.
    My workaround is to use the pcs tags to write out all the possible sortings to java array objects. This gives me access to the data on a JSP level and based on whatever the user will chose, I could then display that array. While this works, it is extremely ghetto and inefficient. Any help or suggestions would be fantastic.
    Thanks a lot,
    Jason Grauel

    You can use just about any javascript you want in any Content Server presentation template including ones that are used for portlets.
    However, you should be careful to name javascript functions and global variables uniquely so that they do not conflict with any other javascript on the page. To do this, you can append the item id to function and variable names, for example,
    function doSomething<pcs:value expr="pcs_id"></pcs:value>() {
    return true;

  • Attribute substitution  not working in templates for dynamic lists

    Hi all,
    dynamic lists were introduced in APEX 4.1 and they can be used for drop-down menus. I am trying to use attribute substitution #A01#...#A10# in the templates without success.
    Here is a sample select statement
    <pre>
    SELECT level,

    and here a snippet from the template

    The substitution is not being made. It looks like a bug but maybe I'm missing something.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Garry,
    When the list query is parsed, it's not the column alias that deciphers which parameters you're trying to set, it's the positioning of the parameter in the query itself. So, for example, if a user wishes to set the #A01# attribute, like in your case, then the value returned by the 8th parameter in the query will be used. In your original query, you only supplied 6 parameters i.e. up to the image attribute setting. If you're not setting anything for the image attributes, then you simply set those values to null. The syntax for the query should be similar to the following:
    select level,
           labelValue               label,
           [targetValue]            target,
           [is_current]             is_current_list_entry,
           [imageValue]             image,
           [imageAttributeValue]    image_attribute,
           [imageAltValue]          image_alt_attribute,
           [attribute1]             attribute1,
           [attribute2]             attribute2,
           [attribute3]             attribute3,
           [attribute4]             attribute4,
           [attribute5]             attribute5,
           [attribute6]             attribute6,
           [attribute7]             attribute7,
           [attribute8]             attribute8,
           [attribute9]             attribute9,
           [attribute10]            attribute10
    from ...
    where ...
    order by ...Regards,
    Hilary
