WCS FTP Server Configuration
I remembering setting a username and password for FTP transfers when I originally installed my WCS way back when. Now that the images are getting increasingly larger and the controllers support FTP transfers, I would like to begin using FTP to upgrade code. Unfortunately, I can not remember the credentials I originally supplied. Does anyone know how I can either recover those credentials or change them to new ones?
The user id is ftp-user and the password is typically your root password unless you've changed it. The doc below has instructions on how to change it in WCS v4, but I believe it's the same for current versions.

How to configure sync with my local ftp server?
I have used XMarks since now because it hallow me to synchronize my bookmarks with my local server. Now XMarks don't work anymore because it's not more possible to synchronize the passwords.
Any other alternative imposes to use an external server and I don't want to use an external server. My data must remain on my machine it's absolutely excluded that i use an external unknown server for this.
The only solution must be a free solution (a real free solution) and the firefox synchronization seems to me the best/only one.
But I've not found how to configure it to use my own server.
So how to do it, where are the options to the synchronizer to give my own ftp server or whatever other server it needs?iAS 6.0 sp4 officially does only support iPlanet Directory Server 5.0 sp1 and 4.13.
For more details visit: http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/ias/60/sp4/ig/prep.htm#42084
I guess, you can specify the directory server during the time of installation.
Thanks,

Configuring Solaris 8 FTP Server
I am new to solaris 8. Can anyone help me on where to go or what file to edit to configure my ftp server. The main goals that I want to accomplish are to change the default ftp directory and to specify a login password. I would also like to know how to enable ftp upload.
- Thank youHi,
If you must log into the ftp server as root for some reason you have to first edit the ftpusers file. This file lists all the users who can not use ftp. The file is found here /etc/ftpusers. If you remove the entry root from this file it will allow root to log into the ftp server.
Hope This Helps.

Andrew

Help (pleeeease) with configuring FTP server connection
HI...I am so frustrated. You have to understand that I am not completely stupid, but I just cannot understand the process which will allow me to connect to a **^&-**** FTP server!!!
Here's the deal:
Me, graphic designer, designing among other things, websites.
Dreamweaver, the software program that I use to design websites.
So, I design a site, and configure it to upload via FTP. I get the FTP hostname, username, password info from the intended Internet Service Provider, and load that info into the required fields in the Site Manager window. Everything is great until I try to connect to the server....it just won't do it! I get error messages that state flatly that I cannot connect to the remote server, for reasons that are as bland as "username and password information incorrect". I have called the ISP to determine if I am using the correct username, password blah blah blah, and everything checks out on their end. It seems that everyone else but me can connect to a bloody FTP server! Harrumph.
So...what can I do? Is it that something in the System Preferences panel needs to be adjusted to allow me access to FTP? I have fiddled around a little in there, but don't change anything, because I don't know what TCP/IP, proxy settings, etc. MEANS!!! All I did was allow FTP access (duh).
Another point of interest is permissions...somewhere along the way, during my long and convoluted journey with this problem, a message came up that mentioned that. Permissions. Don't know what that means either.
Is there anyone out there that can help me?? I am so confused, and just need a little education. I would greatly appreciate any advice or information. Thanks! Janelle
iMacG4 Mac OS X (10.4.7)Hi Janelle: I assume the domain is georgeponzini.com
1. http://georgeponzini.com/index.htm works so we know you have an index.htm page uploaded to the server but it contains no information at all, like you uploaded a completely blank page, no title, no code, nothing, nada...
2. http://georgeponzini.com/index.html does not exist, you never uploaded a page so what we see is an error page, saying such a file does not exist.
3. The link you have ftp-dom.earthlink.net/ is for uploading directly from a browser but I could not get it to work in Safari but does work in Firefox, which you can consider downloading and using.
4. If you can upload from your Control Center at Earthlink.net, that's a no brainer, this is the option to take, you cannot make any errors doing it this way. But that we'll figure out next... It's ok you do not see a public_html folder you are probably already in it when you log in. Where you given instructions to upload into the WEBDOCS/ folder, if so you did that right.
BTW - have you checked with Earthlink that Control Center will work on a Mac using Safari asa browser
5. Your index.htm page/file is NOT where you upload to, the index.htm IS the 'Home Page' or 'Index Page'. You're seeing a white page because it contains no information, but you must have uploaded a file/page named index.htm (see 1 above)
6. If you have files/pages uploaded in the correct area, see if you can rename any file index.html - I am sure you can do this at the Control Center, if not do this on your computer and use 'save as' > index.html - upload this file/page and see if it displays
Let me know what happens, Rick

How can i do scheduled automatic backups to an ftp server in ios xr?
Hello guys! As the title says im looking forward to automatically back up my running config on a cisco CRS-1 to an FTP server. I was only able to find this config example:
Configuration commit auto-save filename ftp://A.B.C.D/myconfig.txt
This allows me to save my config to an ftp server everytime i use commit on the device. Now i want to know if there's a way to automatically save my configs everyday at 00:00 and also include the date and time in the name of the file so i don't overwrite the existing files in the ftp server.
I dont want to use any tool i just wanna know if what im asking is possible via CLI commands. I would greatly appreciate your help with this subject.
Regards,
DavidNot sure if this script will work on a CRS, but try this:
archive
log config
logging enable
hidekeys
path tftp:///$h-
write-memory
time-period 10080
Explaination:
There are two ways to save your config to your remote station:
1. When someone saves the config; and
2. At an alloted time period, expressed in 10080 (weekly for me). -
Reading a file from ftp server
Hi
I am able to put file on ftp server using ftp adapter.But same settings are not working while polling file on ftp.
Do i need to do some settings for get operation??Hi,
Check the file permissions and for testing give all read/write/execute permissions to the file to be read from FTP. Also check the file modification date of the file.
Check for the logs at 2 places for any error messages:
- SOA server diagnostics logs
- FTP server logs
You can also enable the FINEST level of Adapter logs for adapters and see for the detailed errors in the diagnostic logs.
FMW Console > right click soa-infra > Logs > Log Configuration > expand oracle.soa > set Trace32 : FINEST for oracle.soa.adapter

I'm new to Solaris 10 and need help to setup ftp server
hello!
I just installed Solaris 10 and I'm trying to setup an ftp server (with ftpd) but I don't know how to do that
my server doesn't need any security or authentication
I'm looking for the default shared files directory
Also wondering what to change in what configuration file...
This OS looks quite similar to some linux I used before but the differencies are big enough to drive me crazy
anyway thanks for your help.
Any advice is welcome :-)cd /etc/ftpd
vi ftpusers
put a # in front of root and any other users that you wish to be able to ftp
then svcadm restart ftp
If you want to set up an anonymous ftp server, there is a little more involvement -
How to set Lion built-in FTP Server auto run off
Hello all.
I set FTP Server by using Rumpus Server application.
But Lion's built-in FTP Server is running on the front.
So if I try to connect my FTP Server out of my LAN, I can only connect to the built-in FTP Server despite I wanted to connect Rumpus FTP Server.
It can be solved by unload the built-in FTP Server(using sudo -s launchctl unload...) but every after rebooting I should set it because it is set to run automatically in every booting.
How can I set the auto run off?well, the ftp server (=ftpd) takes account info from the user list for your mac. so, go to the system settings on your mac, then to users, and then just add another user with a password of your choice (tap on the little plus-sign to add a user!). this will then be a valid user for your ftp server after you restart your ftp server.
the other thing you want to do, about the home directory, is called chroot. you can set the home directory of a specific ftp-user to be another directory then the standard. for this, there are configuration directives in the configuration file in /private/etc/ftpd.conf which you have to edit by hand. so make sure what you do there.
you should read this before editing the file, this will give you a better understanding of what to put there: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/darwin/reference/manpages/ man8/tnftpd.8.html -
Files from FTP server to Application server
Hi All,
I am new to SDN and SAP XI, can anyone tell me whether its possible to move the files (different strcuture files i.e. some are master data files and some are transaction data file) from FTP server to Application server with one interface. Actually the process is already established at clientsite for placing master data files like product, plant etc from FTP server to App server through FTP adapter. Now my requirement is to move transaction data file with completely different structure as master data to App server. If we place these trasaction data file in same folder/directory as master data files does SAP XI pick this file also. If not what are the steps I need to follow to achieve this. I know that if we create new configuration it will work but I question is does master data interface picks this transaction data file also.
Right now our process for master data files is SAP XI picks the files and deletes the file from FTP server folder. The master data file names are plant_attr.csv, product_attr.csv etc and transcation data file name is salestrasactiondata.csv. I need to move these files to application server on daily bases.
I appreciate your help .
Regards
Bob.> I am new to SDN and SAP XI, can anyone tell me whether its possible to move the files (different strcuture files i.e. some are master data files and some are transaction data file) from FTP server to Application server with one interface.
Hello Bob,
Yes it is possible.
There can be two ways of doing it.
1. N:1 mapping, BPM will require for this.
N:1 Mapping refer this blog
IDOCs (Multiple Types) Collection in BPM
BpmPatterns CollectMerge
part1 BPM with Patterns explained Part-1
part2 BPM with Patterns explained Part-2
Second option
Create 3 scanarios in integration directory and correspondingly in integration repositoy create different data types, message types, mappings & interface mappings and then in each of scenario us different message interface and interface mapping.
> I know that if we create new configuration it will work but I question is does master data interface picks this transaction data file also.
>
If you are using N:1 scenario then use *.csv in your sender adapter under file name parameter and then all the files will be picked up from same directory.
If you are using second option (3 different scenarios) then also you can pick the different files from same directory. You will be having 3 sender adapters in this case, So, one for picking master data, and another for product data and the last one for transaction data.
So, in case of master data use "plant_*.csv" as a file name and directory name.
In case of product data, use "product_*.csv " as a file name and source directory will remain same.
similarly do it for transaction data.
So by this way all 3 sender adapters will perform their job to pick the different files from same source directory.

Can a directory to be created if it does not exist on FTP server?
Hello SOA experts,
We are good with most common usage of all Adapters. But recently, I am facing a challenge when archive files on FTP server.
Archive files need to be placed into different folders for each month. For instance, ./archive/201308 for files archived in August. Next month, a new directory ./archive/201309 should be created, ideally automatically.
My question is, can I do through some configuration and properties setting to let SOA create a remote target directory when it does NOT exist?
We maintained multiple archive folders for different typr of documents. It is really a hassle to create them manually. And if the target directory does not exist, it would throw errors.
Thank you very much in advance.

CGIHi, After reading your post, I myself wanted to test this out. I thought that by configuring the following in the Adapter Wizard it would create the remote directory for me:
<adapter-config name="FW" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="FW.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
<connection-factory location="eis/FileAdapter"/>
<endpoint-interaction portType="Write_ptt" operation="Write">
<interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileInteractionSpec">
<property name="PhysicalDirectory" value="C:\Archive"/>
<property name="Append" value="false"/>
<property name="FileNamingConvention" value="%SEQ%\test.txt"/>
<property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
</interaction-spec>
</endpoint-interaction>
</adapter-config>
It failed on my BPEL instance however I could see that it was trying to create the file. When I created all destinations it was able to create it.
This is my recommendation from what I understand you'd like to accomplish:
Create the different Year&Month folders on your destination from Jan to Dec:
201301
201302
201303
201304
201305
201306
201307
201308
201309
201310
201311
201312
(You can actually create as many as you want going to 2090 if you want...
Add the below config to your JCA File:
<adapter-config name="FW" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="FW.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
<connection-factory location="eis/FileAdapter"/>
<endpoint-interaction portType="Write_ptt" operation="Write">
<interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileInteractionSpec">
<property name="PhysicalDirectory" value="C:\Archive"/>
<property name="Append" value="false"/>
<property name="FileNamingConvention" value="%yyyy.MM%\filename"/>
<property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
</interaction-spec>
</endpoint-interaction>
</adapter-config>
This will allow the files to be dynamically created in the correct directories.
This is a work-around and I hope this works for you.
