WCS integration with MS Office

I am trying to add members to the Space by using the Add Member functionality in the MC office Document Task Pane and i a getting as exception on adding the user -- "oracle.security.idm.objectnotfoundexception-No user found matching the criteria" where as i can see the user in Weblogic server console and the user is able to login into the WCS application

I've read this doc before, and it stated that a SMTP proxy is required for Single Inbox.
"If you want to select Relay the Message or Accept and Relay the Message for either list, you must first
configure an SMTP Smart Host on the System Settings > SMTP Configuration > Smart Host page.
Connection Administration will not let you save a new unified messaging configuration with those
settings when no SMTP Smart Host is configured. For SMTP smart host server, Connection will
communicate with on -premise SMTP relay servers only"
The environment is a MAC environment, and there's no single Windows platform machine.

  • Unable to get OBIEE integration with MS-Office started

    After 3 painful install attempts at OBIEE 11.1.1, I now have a 32-bit simple install running on 32bit Windows Server 2008, and by adding Flash I can get all the charts to display in the SampleApp Lite that is automatically installed. I can also login to the Weblogic admin server, and the Fusion Enterprise Manager. My goal is to just test and evaluation of the MS-Office integration.
    However, I can't get the MS-Office integration going. When I try to connect from the Excel 2007 BI add-in with:
    ---Servername = some_string
    ---BI Office Server = Win08forOBIEE (which is the full domain name of the server).
    ---Application Name = bioffice (I didn't change any defaults for the install other than the weblogic admin account which I changed to "administrator").
    ---Port = 80
    and thence click the TestConnection button, I get the following error message:
    "Test connection failed. http://Win08forOBIEE:80/bioffice/services/saw?WSDL"
    On reading the OBIEE user guide, whose large Appendix D is entirely on MS-Office integration, I wonder if the server has been set to (as the user guide says) "Ensure that the administrator has granted you the Access to Oracle BI for Microsoft Office privilege. For information on this privilege, see Oracle Fusion Middleware System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition." However, according to the latter, this priviledge is granted by default to BIConsumer. Is it possible that the administrator would not have this role by default?
    Also, this privilege if I understand correctly is controlled by Oracle BI Presentation Services. There seems to be 4 ways to admin Presentation Services that is swamping my understanding of which to try and how to start each (does each one only configure a certain area?):
    ---Oracle BI Administration Tool
    ---Oracle BI Presentation Services Administration
    ---Oracle BI Presentation Services
    ---Catalog Manager
    I have tried starting the Oracle BI Admin Tool from the start menu > AllPrograms > OracleBusinessIntelligence > BI Administration. And ironically get a password error even though I used the same password everywhere for everything, and as described above I can sign onto everything else and the analytics can access the repository. Does the BI Office Server process by default use something different for a password than that entered for the database, the RCU, and OBIEE itself?

    Some further background on my problem above:
    --- I'm running both OBIEE and the repository in a VM on my PC.
    --- I'm trying to use Excel add-in from the host OS on the PC. I can ping the OBIEE VM machine name "Win08forOBIEE". I can connect from a host OS web browser to the Weblogic console, middleware em, and OBIEE analytics.
    --- To start Weblogic I just doubleclick C:\OBIEE\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd followed by windows startmenu > allprograms > oracle business intelligence > start bi services .
    (Note that following the instructions and running "startWebLogic.cmd -start" with he -start parameter (followed by Start BI Services) doesn't seem to work. In fact, I wonder if the startWebLogic.cmd is step is needed at all and instead I could just use windows startmenu > allprograms > oracle business intelligence > start bi services.)
    --- At the end of Start BI Services, even though I can subsequently also sign in to middleware em and to obiee analytics web pages, I get an additional browser tab popping up suddenly that starts up which says " Error 500--Internal Server Error
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request." The URL is: "http://win08forobiee:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome&startPage=1"

  • App-V 5 SP2 (RDS) application integration with multiple office versions - general question

    So I have been testing Office 2013 with app-V 5 SP2 and the package size is a hefty 1+GB with Visio and Project thrown in and I am not convinced by the speed and efficiency of delivering office 2013 this way (shared content mode) so I am thinking of
    pre-installing Office 2013 on my XenApp servers instead.
    However, we have some applications that integrate with office 2007 as they are not yet certified with Office 2013. Am I right in thinking that if I package Office 2007 and add it to a connection group with the other application, then that app will use Office
    2007 regardless of Office 2013 being installed on the local OS?

    This depends on how it technically integrates with Office 2007. Without knowing, or testing, how that is done it is not possible to state which version will be used.

  • Cisco WCS integration with SNMP based monitoring

    I am looking for a solution to integrate Cisco WCS with any SNMP based monitoring solution.  My requirement is below,
    - Alerts for Access points up/down should be picked up by an alerting system in its console through SNMP.
    - I dont want all access points to be monitored, but only a critical group.
    Currently all access points are configured on LWAP mode under a wireless controller.  Can i configure APs individually for SNMP and get it monitored through the 3rd party monitoring tool.
    Can anyone please guide me to find a solution for this.

    Hello friends...We are going to upgrade our existing WCS v5.1.65.4 to v6.0.170.0 and after that planning to integrate it with a 3rd part NMS tool.for any critical alerts\traps. So if any critical event related to WLC\AP received in WCS, it will send those alerts to NMS and based on the severity of alerts, The NMS will open a remedy ticket in BMC remedy tool. 
    Can any one provide the document or configuration steps for WCS to make it as as trap sender for NMS

    Really? I configured it with external NMS without problems. Did you heard about Notification  Receiver in WCS configuration. All traps received from WLC are forwarded to external systems.

    First of all, there is no well-defined boundary between MS Word functionality that translates to meaningful template-building functionality and that which does not. Therefore it is not helpful to use this 'familiar product' to build templates, because you run into roadblocks at every turn. There is no way to know a priori which functions will help build your template and which are just for word processing. It's more confusing than the familiarity is worth. Frankly, it's just lazyness on Oracle's part, to avoid making a real template builder. (The new online template builder kinda sucks, especially when you have more than a handful of columns.)
    This selective, unpredictable support of Microsoft functionality is reflected in the fact that OBIEE 11g DOES NOT SUPPORT INTERNET EXPLORER 8 on Windows XP!

  • Autodiscover not working correctly when Office 365 integrated with Server Essentials 2012 R2

    Hello!
    This last weekend I setup our server as new and to ease the creation of users, integrated with our Office 365 (which to this point has worked fine) and imported the users. This had a somewhat unexpected side effect in that the import used the email address
    as for the user forename and then synced that change back to Office 365 and so needed to enter this information back in on the dashboard which synced back to Office 365. This may or may not have any relevance to our issue below.
    I should also point out that we have our own domain name so within the original Office 365 setup we had just one .onmicrosoft.com user with all the rest setup with our own domain name.
    At the weekend when it came to the client install, Outlook (2010 or 2013) would fail on the autodiscover with it asking again for credentials but critically displaying a server name of .contoso.com rather than the office365srvr.contoso.com . As I mention,
    Office 365 had been operating fine for some time and DNS records where checked and have been set for sometime. I spoke to Office 365 support and after a while come up with a temporary solution (so that I could complete the client installs) of assigning each
    user a onmicrosoft address, using that in the new account wizard to pick up the server correctly and then signing in the the Office 365 .contoso.com credentials.
    This worked OK to get us past the weekend (although I am having to reset up profiles on quite number of users where they get disconnected but with no credentials box appearing) but isn't a solution. The clients do not see public folders or their archives
    and of course we don't want to keep having to reset the profiles.
    I'm think that there must be something in the internal network that needs reconfiguring but I don't know what. I have tried pointing the client to an external DNS server just in case the internal DNS server was throwing the autodiscover out but this has
    made no difference.

    Ah - solved my own problem.
    Despite the domain DNS record looking OK and the Office 365 Portal domain checker not highlighting any issue, it looks as though the autodiscover is picking up an imap account provided by the web host.
    I've added an alias on the local DNS server to point to the Office 365 autodiscover server and this has solved the problem.

    Unless you can create a SIP trunk on Office 365 and allow traffic to pass between CUCM and Office 365 across the SIP trunk it would not work. Cisco never supported any Exchange UM for voicemail, it works, but if you have issues Cisco is not going to help you there. No different here, if you can get it to work based on the above, then support is on you.

  • Integrating IBM Personal Communications for Windows with Microsoft Office

    Hello,
    I am a self taught programmer and I use COM objects to integrate IBM Personal Communications with Microsoft Office.   VBScript is used to perform internal automations of the IBM product as well as integrate it with Outlook and Excel. 
    Instead of buying an e-mail product for the AS/400, I just have Personal Communications send e-mail from Outlook.  Instead of creating a spreadsheet application in Java, I integrate Excel with Personal Communications. 
    Having a Technet section that showcases integrating Microsoft products with Personal Communications to enhance it would be desirable. Any ActiveX examples in Personal Communications have to be re-engineered to work with VBScript because they are coded in Visual Basic.
    For example, VBScript can be used with Personal Communications; but, Visual Basic is used with Microsoft Office applications. 
    Because Personal Communications has limited windows interfaces, I use HTML applications to create more feature rich windows interfaces with Personal Communications when I want more complexity than either an input or a message box from VBScript.
    Although HTML applications are old technology, they are easy to create and can utilize all the functionality of MSIE to use VBScript, Javascript, C#, Java, HTML, DHTML, and CSS.  However, I generally only need VBScript, HTML and CSS.
    MSDN2 has HTML applications, CSS, and VBScript in separate sections; but, it does not have a section that shows how everything can be used together.

      Anything can be hacked; however, when I want to get a job done fast I write my own automation and execute it instead of filing a request for IT to write an interal system upgrade.
    For example, say I want to have my computer talk for me because I cannot talk at the moment. What I can do is use the speech capabilty of Microsoft Excel and add it as a feature of an automation.

    If I want it to read the page to me, I can have it copy a section of a screen or set of screens and then read the data to me.  Also, I use a slight modification of the above code to allow me to write to an Excel file for hidden or visible tracking of what an associate is doing. The hidden tracking is for supervisor or managerial back end review.
    If I want to send e-mail, I Include the following code in a VBScript automation file:

    Using CreateObject, I am able to use features of almost any progam on my desktop and have them as features in my automation.  Aslo, I can borrow features of other programming languages on my computer and use them in VBscript.
    If I wanted to add some level of security to my scripts I could have a check file that verifies my automations are secure; but, that would be a pain to maintain unless I add artificial intelligence to the program. 
    Because of security features in Outlook, I directly type my closing rather than pull my name as the current user because I don't want to bother with the popup box that my automation is hacking my address book. 
    There are some programs at work that data is typed into from the Client Access Emulator; and, if I had the time to scrpt code and the obect model of the program, I could automate that work and put a lot of people out of work.    
    Anyone that can write up cooking directions and follow them, can write a program. Debugging the program to work with a compiler or the quirks of another program from which the automation is being executed is similar to modifying a recipe depending on the cooking conditions.

  • Jabber cannot Call - Integration with CUCM/AD

    Dear all,
    I installed CUCM 9.1.1 and CUPS 9.1.1 with Jabber client 9.0.1.
    when I run Jabber on a joined domain PC (login with AD username and password), there are no problem with the calling ability.
    But when I try to use a non-join domain PC (I am using VPN to connect to office network and using my personal PC), only the chatting feature that are available. I cannot loggin to phone accounts and cannot make any calls with my Jabber client.
    Should I use UDS integration with AD?

  • SharePoint 2013 on-premises integration with third party email account

    the Email sending issue from SharePoint is causing too much time waste 
    First let me explain how our SharePoint is deployed
    Sharepoint version : 2013
    Deployment type : on-premise
    Authentication : from Domain controller also hosted locally 
    domain name ; say domain.com this domain.com is same as our website address hosted on godaddy
    SharePoint computer name on local DNS :  sharepoint.domain.com
    OS and IIS : 2008 r2 , IIS 7.5 
    Network firewall : 25 26 ports  opened for sharepoint , both incoming and outgoing.
    Server firewall : turned off
    Email configuration Attempts by IIS 6.0 
    We tried following setting on IIS 6.0 SMTP local server properties
    In General tab
    qualified name was shown as : sharepoint.dts-solution.com
    IP assigned : sharepoint server IP  , advanced putted two entries of IP with ports as 25,26
    In Access tab
    Authentication : selected as Anonymous 
    Connection : All except below list : empty list
    Relay : only the list below , one entry as 127.0.0.1 and other is local static IP of SharePoint server
    in Delivery tab
    outbound security : Basic authentication : accessed user in AD and given the right password, also checked with annonymous -not working 
    outbound connection: all default values and port = 25
    Advance : fully qualified domain name = sharepoint.domain.com , DNS test showed success, rest every check box unchecked 
    On sharepoint central management settings
    Outbound email = sharepoint.domain.com
    from and reply to address = [email protected] 
    IIS 7.5 SMTP settings 
    In IIS 7.5 sharepoint application we added SMTP settings as smtp server = godaddy out going smtp , user name as [email protected] , password = godaddy password , port : godaddy outgoing port  .
    Godaddy account 
    Our website hosted on godaddy with same name as domain.com
    open relay not possible on emails.
    Results
    After setting alerts on SharePoint sites and assigning tasks with alerts we receive email in queue folder but they never get forwarded. We just wish to use any of our email *.domain.com to send outgoing emails from SharePoint . Its been a while we have no

    As I understand, you are using SharePoint 2013 integrating with third party SMTP server which provides email function.
    From SharePoint side, I'd suggest you refer to the link below to configure email integration:

    If you have already confirm that message is sent from SharePoint, while stuck in queue on SMTP server, then the issue might be related to relay on SMTP server. Since the issue is related to third party product, we do not have enough resource here,

    We recently migrated to Office365 but had an issue since we need more than 16 simultaneous connections to a single mailbox. Because of this, we need to deploy a local Exchange Server that will be used to host a single mailbox that requires up to 500 simultaneous
    connections for a Contact Center application. I'm looking for information on how to setup the local Exchange Server to basically create a local instance of a mailbox hosted on Office 365. So we can have our application open the numerous simultaneous connections
    to our local server which will then connection to Office 365 to send/receive email through the mailbox hosted on Office365.
    Please let me know if you have any information or resources you can direct me toward.

    I am trying to learn how to use iCloud, would like to hsve it my documents on it, which are mostly created in WORD (part of Microsoft Office Suite for Mac) or .pdf files.  I don'r see how to get them into iCloud.  Actually I don't see how to place anything at all in iCloud other than contacts, etc.  I am not seeing how it can be usedul to me.

    The iWork programs are integrated with iCloud and work fairly automatically with it. iCloud is only intended for specific purposes and is not intended for general purpose storage.

    SAP has made a lot of the transport functionality in GRC10. I find that they hereby created a huge expectation with the customer, that in fact is not true.
    For instance Exclusion Objects and Mitigation Controls are NOT transported. What about Organizations? Critical Roles and Profiles are also not transportable.
    As for the Connectors - system specific parameters are transported. Therefore you end up having to delete the DEV and QA connectors in the PRD GRC system.
    On this question, has anyone used CLM yet? It seems that only Functions and Risks will be extracted to CLM and then deployed in the other system (DEV to QA for example). Does CLM even work?
    SAP provide not guidance on all of these important issues. I agree that it is about time that SAP takes some leadership and produce a proper best practise guide for this software. By the way, an offical sizing document from SAP is still to be delivered.
