We loose the jdbc connection
Our connection pool looses connection to oracle(ORA-03114) in a random manner.
We use jdk1.2, jdbc 8.1.6 drivers & oracle 8.0.5 db on solaris 2.6.
This problem started when we switched from jdk1.1.7, jdbc 8.0.5.2.
We also seem to have problems reading from a date column, rs.getString("DATECOLUMNNAME") has for some reason seized to work.
The application is pretty db exhausting, we use a lot of long raw fields for storing images etc.
The connection pool is a free version from Bitmechnic.
You probably want to ask this question in the SQLJ/JDBC forum, or with Bitmechnic. ODBC is a similair protocol to JDBC, but they're completely separate products.

My iPad keeps loosing the internet connection. Last time this happened comcast charged $49 to fix it. They said that the problem was perhaps caused by something that I down loaded. All my other devices still connected to internet. Tried to reset my settings. Still won't work. Any advice ?
First, changing your DNS settings could not possibly have any effect on this problem.
When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test. -
Advanced Queue - using the JDBC connection
Advanced Queue using the JDBC connection gives us AN ERROR WHEN SENDING 32K QUEUES
Is it true that RAW datatypes using the Java AQ API do indeed have a limit of 32K in 8.1.6.
The workaround is to use the Java AQ API with Object payloads (BLOBs) to get around the problem.
Has anyone used any other solution ?
Thanks
nullThere's a JDBC forum that's probably more germane to this question-- I'd suggest reposting it there.

Lot of cursors hanging even the jdbc connection are closed
We use tomcat and thin oracle driver for out application. But we found lot of cursors hanging even the jdbc connection are closed.
We use a connection pool to manage the connections.after properly closing the connections ,try to set all the Connection objects and ResulSet objects to null (force to null) , most likely these inactive sessions will dissapear.
might be a java garbage collection issue?
anyhow. I managed to get most of these inactive sessions to disappear. although I am using a Servlet. some of them are still not closed

HT201250 WE KEEP LOOSING THE WIFI CONNECTION WHILE STREAMING TO VIDIO-HELP
Why do i keep loosing the wifi connection while streaming to vidio- help
Did you ever find a resolutution to your issue? I have a similar issue after installing Mavericks where the Arris modem goes to sleep when my iMac does, even though other devices on the network are actively requesting data. For the time being, as long as the iMac doesn't sleep the network is fine.

I have a very irritating problem with my MacBook Pro. It keeps loosing the wifi connection - every 5-1o minutes!!!
I have testet the wifi signal and had my router checked - both are fine.
Please tell me what I can do :-(
JohnFirst you should check on another Wifi to see if it's your Lion machine.
If it only occurs on your Wifi, then perhaps you have local interference and need to set the router on another channel far from others.
You can install a free program called KisMAC that you set your Driver Preferences to Apple Airport Extreme Passive Mode, enter your Admin password and monitor your local Wifi signals, see if you cna pin point the cause of your interference or meddler.
If your not running WPA2 with AES and a 12 plus random character/letter/number password for both Admin and Internet access use only then you should seriously consider doing so.

Wireless users are loosing the internet connection....
Dear All, My wireless users are loosing the internet(http and https) connection many times per day. I just check the ports configuration in the switch, but The problem persist. The device is a Cisco Aironet 1130 AG. Someone have some idea???
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone AppDear All, My wireless users are loosing the internet(http and https) connection many times per day. I just check the ports configuration in the switch, but The problem persist. The device is a Cisco Aironet 1130 AG.
You are barking the wrong tree.
Can you please elaborate further?
I need to determine whether the clients are loosing WIRELESS connection or loosing WAN connection. Two different things, two different directions to choose from.
The easiest way to determine is this:
Presume you have 10 clients and half the clients are associated to one WAP and the other to the other WAP. Your description states that all 10 clients would loose internet connectivity. Is this correct? If this is so, then we start with your switch and your WAPs. How are the WAPs powered? PoE or power injector? Can you console into the WAPs? Can you post the output to the commands "sh version" and "sh logs"? How about the switch? Can you console into the switch? Can you post the output to the commands "sh version" and "sh logs"? -
After about a half hour or so my new iPad air looses the wifi connection
My laptop in the same location never looses the connection. Why does it happen with my iPad air ? I can get the connection back by either shutting off my ipad or going into settings then wifi and turning wifi off and then back on again. It connects right back up. The signal strength is full, I cannot find out why it does this, does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it ?
Thank you for any help.jThe prolem is from fabric, You are not the first one with that problem. Those are the bad things of buying new technology when its aout, most of time comes with problmes. I recommend you to go to an apple store and them to tell you whats going on. I had the same problem and I pay a little and they change it to me to a new ipad but from the same model.
Turn it on a try everything on the same store like that you dont need to go again and pay again.
Good Luck. -
Tomcat - Automatically Setting up the JDBC connection on deployment
I got sick of setting up the JDBC source in Tomcat after deploying, this is how I overcame it.
1. Create a directory:
{project}/src/web/META-INF
2. Create a file there
{project}/src/web/META-INF/context.xml
Heres is the contents of context.xml
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<Context docBase="/root/jakarta-tomcat/webapps/toll" path="/toll" workDir="work/Catalina/localhost/toll">
<Resource auth="Container" description="Rave generated DataSource Reference" name="jdbc/transact" type="javax.sql.DataSource"/>
<ResourceParams name="jdbc/transact">
<parameter>
<name>maxWait</name>
<value>5000</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>maxActive</name>
<value>200</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>password</name>
<value>dummypass</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>url</name>
<value>jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/transact?autoReconnect=true</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>driverClassName</name>
<value>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>maxIdle</name>
<value>50</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>username</name>
<value>dummyuser</value>
</parameter>
</ResourceParams>
</Context>Hope this helps someone.
Regards
JonathanAlso add this in there for Tomcat .. we are using Tomcat 5 so check for other versions.
<parameter>
<name>removeAbandoned</name>
<value>true</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>removeAbandonedTimeout</name>
<value>1200</value>
</parameter>It turns on Tomcats connection recovery, so if your application has a connection leak and doesn't shut them all down. Tomcat will shut down unused connections, it uses the timeout value to determine which are unused. (1200 secs - 20 mins)

Since installing Lion, I have been loosing my connection to airport Extreme after I have put my IMac in sleep mode. My Ipad is also loosing the connection. This issue started since the installation of Lion, is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I've had that problem on my macbook running 10.5.8 for a few years. Sometimes it's worse than others. No other computer in my house has this problem.

I need to know how to open the laptop to replace the card that controls the wlan and treble. I tried to find a manual to show how to get the laptop open and then be able to get the card number so I can order one. I have removed the screws but can't get it appart. Can you tell me the type of card that I would need to resolve the problem so I don't loose the wireless conection every 5 minutes.
Thanks
highdiverThe Maintenance and Service guide, which you can find here, can show you how to replace your wlan card.
I am an employee of Hewlett Packard.

Kinect for Windows V2 looses the USB connection
Hi,
My PC is running windows 8.1 with USB 3 port. Kinect is connected 24/7 and if I did not use the Kinect for 1day, it appears pc has lost the connection to Kinect. Unplugging and plugging the usb connection does not do bring the connection back but if I power
off and on the Kinect , then it can be seen by the PC.
How can I fix this problem?
best Regards
JohanTry a different device to see if it is an issue with the sensor itself. We have many sensors working in the 24x7 scenario so check to ensure the KinectMonitor/KinectService are running when connecting the sensor. When connecting the sensor to the machine,
is the driver correctly loading? What does device manager show for under Kinect sensor devices entry?

How to increase the JDBC connections peroformacnce
Hi Iam new to Weblogic admin
We are using weblogic 10. in solaries + oracle database env
We are facing the slowness issue for internet application users, after submitting the user name and password, user will not get any response from the application except blank page,
I have observed that there are somany; more than 200 Waiting For Connection Total. This will increase in peak time.
wii this is the cause for the issue or if any other.
Please suggest us to resolve the issue.
Edited by: user11103866 on May 8, 2009 2:12 AMmore than 200 Waiting For Connection Total.<<This is from a JDBC pool? If so, then you have more users than your pool can handle.
How many initial / maximum connections does this particular pool allow, and how many servers are within your cluster?
What is your applicaiton's session timeout value?
Ask your DBA how many connections the database currently allows.
You can also configure the shrink period of the pool if your user sessions are short, or if your users are not logging out ( which results in their session holding a connection until the session times out ).
Are you seeing Leaked Connections ( you can configure the console to report these )? -
Every time the home telephone rings, I loose the wireless connection
My airport express works perfectly, however when the telephone rings I loose connection. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I learned recently that even some "5.8 GHz" phones actually use 2.4 GHz for some of their traffic, so make sure you study the specs if you want your 5.8 GHz to not interfere with your 2.4 GHz network.
Just to be more clear:
AirPort Express the old AirPort Extreme always use 2.4 GHz.
The new AirPort Extreme uses 2.4 GHz when in b/g/n mode and 5 GHz when in a/n mode.
