Web cache crash after serving first request from Mozilla browser
Observing this with version 2.0.0.0.0 of the web cache. The first request from a Mozilla browser is successfully responded to - snoop output shows html delivered correctly in response to the GET. Immediately after that request is satisfied, the webcached is not running, with no core file or mention in event_log as to what could be wrong even in verbose mode -- last mention in the event log is "cache inserted one file '/foo.html' in bucket 47630".
The problem occurs even with default cacheability rules- changing expiration rules seems to make no difference.
There were some problems with the 2.0.0.0.0 version with regard to the size of response headers. Please download the 9.0.2.0.0 version and see if that fixes the problem. This is the version you should be evaluating anyway. 2.0.0.0.x is over a year old now and 9.0.2.0.0 has undergone more testing and trial deployments than in previous releases.

Hello,
I recently noticed that our installation of web cache (9.0.2 - on Solaris 2.6) tends to crash often, up to several times per day. I have the auto-restart monitor running, so the impact is relatively minimal, however I'm concerned that this is happening at all.
I'm still investigating the logs, etc., so at the moment I don't have much specific data on what I think might be causing this (except that we are using ESI), but at least I would like to know if this is a known/common problem, and if so, are there web cache/9iAS patches/upgrades available that might help.
Thanks,
JKWe're just using the basic "include", here's a sample of what we generate dynamically from our app server, to our web server, and then to webcache:
<esi:try>
<esi:attempt>
<esi:comment text="serve html fragment"/>
<esi:include src="/content/pdml/customer/logo-flash.pdml" onerror="continue"/>
</esi:attempt>
<esi:except>
<esi:comment text="serve exception text"/>
<p>HTML fragment not available...</p>
</esi:except>
</esi:try>
It works well except for the occasional webcache crash (I suspect that certain types of requests are causing it to crash, haven't been able to narrow it down though).
Thanks,

Web Services crashing, whole server dies
About once a day now my the Web Services on my Xserve crash and all the sites go down. When this happens I am unable to restart the web services or even restart the machine from inside the OS. I have to physically hold down the power button to restart the server. Once it comes back up everything is running well until the next time it crashes. This is running the newest 10.6.4 with all the updates. I have 2 other servers that are identical that are not having this problem and there are no DNS problems from the outside.
Here are some things from the log that concerns me:

Is the Server an OD Master or Replica? How do you tell? Launch Terminal and issue:
sudo serveradmin status dirserv
Supply the server administrator's password when prompted. You won't see it being typed.

I have setup Web Cache ( v 2.0.0.0.0 ) that shipped with IAS 1.0.2.2.0 and have configured it with SSL and portal. I'm having problems with actually getting the web cache service to stay up. When a page is refreshed, the web cache service crashes. I saw another post on here, where someone was having a similar problem with compression enabled. So i disabled compression on all gif, jpg, js etc files, but still the same problem. I then disabled ESI for all those file types too .... still web cache service crashes. Before webcache crashes, it displays 80% of the page, but fails when trying to display the images ( which are gif ).
With Compression enabled, there is a line in the event_log stating : Error: Document compression error: gzDone - however, when compression is disabled, there is not entry in the event_log when the service crashes.
Any ideas? It's obviously not acceptable that we just assume people will not refresh a page!!
Scott.Ok, in answer to my own question, its been discovered that this is actually a bug in IE 5.0 + . Information about the bug can be found at : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q305217 . Everything works fine in Netscape.

Hi All,
Can anyone help me in knowing how to configure webcache on top of UCM server and what is webcache invalidation?
If you provide any link of documentation for that ,then it will be a great help.
Thanks,

How to disable report's execution requests from the browser
Hello gurus,
We are implementing several security measures in our application, some of them are related to reports execution/visualization, we need to avoid users accessing reports that they don't have privilege to see. The reports were execute by Forms via RUN_REPORT_OBJECT, destination type CACHE and destination format PDF, then we displayed the output using the jobId provided to Forms by the Reports Server. Because these jobIds are sequential numbers any person was able to change the jobId in the URL and get the output of another report. This violated the Confidentiality of information.
Now we generate all reports output to file, the file name is a random value, to avoid guessing. The problem is that even though the official way to execute a report is via the application, the report servlet is accepting request as URLs, and this violates the access controls we have implemented in the application.
Is there a way to stop the reports servlet without affecting the valid requests (from RUN_REPORT_OBJET in Forms) or is there another possible way to disable URL requests?
TIA
Victor.If you are using Portal and SSO, you can assign privileges on Reports and Reports Servers to groups and/or users. For more info, see Chapter 10 of the "Publishing Reports to the Web" documentation: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_sec_arch.htm#i1006221

WRV200 web interface crashes after changing config
I've got a WRV200 with firmware 1.0.24. Configured to run secured wifi and a VPN tunnel, all without a problem.
Now, when I disable the DHCP service on the box and click Save Settings I'm prompted with the "wifi will restart"message after which the web interface will stop responding. Other functionality (like VPN tunnel) stays OK. I'm connected wired and tried the change with Internet Explorer and Firefox. The only way to get access to the web UI again is do a powercycle of the WRV200. Then the config still shows DHCP enabled.
When trying to upgrade the firmware to 1.0.29 exactly the same happens: try to apply the upgrade, then the web interface stops responding in the end... and after a reboot the f/w still shows 1.0.24.
So: is anyone seeing the same ? And more so: does anyone know how to get around this ?make sure that you upgrade the firmware from a hardwired computer...
go to ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network and download the tftp.exe file .. assign a static ip address on the computer ( 192.168.1.10 ) and reduce the NIC card's speed to 10 Mbps half duplex mode...
run the tftp.exe file...here the server is router's ip add , password is router's password....browse the firmware file and click upgrade...
the firewall should be disabled during the complete process...
after the firmware upgrade , reset the router for 30 seconds and do a power cycle... -
2012 R2 DC crashes after import Root CA from 2008 R2 DC/CA (with same name)
Hello Everyone.
We migrate a Windows Server 2008 R2 DC with Root CA to an Windows Server 2012 R2 DC with same IP and Computername on a new VM. The Windows Server 2012 R2 works fine before we import the Root CA Information from a Backup (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee126140(v=ws.10).aspx)
After import the Root CA Information, we can´t rename any object, OU, user account, etc, whichever DC AD Users and Computers is pointing at, lsass.exe will crash and the DC will reboot after 60 seconds. Remove ADCS is no helping.
Depromote DC and removing ADDS, reboot... and promote the W12R2 to DC is the same Problem. Now we delete (properly) the Server and reinstall the W12R2 OS and promote the Server to DC. After
new install the rename any object works fine.
Does anyone have an idea? Any help would be appreciated!
Regards AchimHi,
Is there any detail error message?
If the issue is related to CA, i would suggest that you may ask in:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=winserversecurity

SAP GUI 7.2 Crashing after server selection
Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with one of our users. It has been working fine before. Windows 7 32bit. Whenever she selects a server to log in to it just closes out SAPGUI. I have tried reinstalling, updating to the latest patchlevel and removing everything SAP related off the machine. This is only happening to one user. After figuring out how to make logon traces I've been trying to figure out the logs. One log that caught my eye was GUIDLLEN.trc.

Any idea on why this is doing that? I would rather not reinstall the OS on the machine.Hello Jun,
You may be lucky if it installs. By the time Windows 7 came out SAP had de-supported SAP GUI 7.20. The SAPSetup.exe release may not be able to recognize any recently updated Microsoft OS DLLs necessary for installation.
However, I would recommend you check the services file to ensure the necessary ports are correct and that either your local firewall or network firewall isn't blocking any of these ports. This should clear up the error: "Cannot connect to message server".
I can also see there is a permission issue with open, write read with %sfile. Can you ensure this has administrator permission's or permitted to do these activities.
Cheers,

Safari 7.0.2 (9537.74.9) crashes after typing first letter
This issue started about two days ago. Whenever I enter the first letter into Safari it crahses, prompting me to reopen the browser. It behaves normallly if i click on a bookmark. I just cannot key in anything anymore. It never behaved like this. Any solution or suggestion is welcomed. I really don't want to use Chrome ...
Thanks
Safari 7.0.2 (9537.74.9) on OS X 10.9.2, MacBook Air mid-2011Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful. -
IChat Crashing after Upgrad to Tiger from Panther
I have recently upgraded from Panther to Tiger (10.4.4) Now when I iChat with friends, either my iChat or theirs will die. I have read some of the other posts regarding the iChat crashes and have run the iChat -7 logging command. Here is the terminal output from the crash. I would love to get any feedback on what the causes could be. I see a segmentation fault at the end, but I assume the problem occurs prior to that.
Thanks!

Cannot get phone unlocked after successful unlock request from Apple
I continually get "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported" after successfully restoring an unlocked iphone4 (even after a restore from recovery mode) Is there any advice out there please?
You use the O2 card to do the unlock.
You only change the SIM card after you get to the Congads..........message.
This is the Process in full.
The process is contact your network supplier .
Ask IF they offer unlocking.
IF yes request the unlock and pay any fees requested.
Your network supplier then contacts Apple to request the White listing (Unlocking) of your phone on the iTunes servers.
Apple do this -It takes anything from 3 days to several weeks to complete.
On completion Apple confirms this back to your Network supplier (NOT YOU)
Your network supplier contacts you via email or SMS inviting you to connect your iPhone with your computer via the supplied USB cable and launch iTunes and follow on screen prompts through to the "Congratulations your iPhone is now unlocked" screen.
All these steps need to be carried out with the ORIGINAL SIM and by REGISTERED account holder used when setting up the phone.
Once the Congats...... screen has been reached you can swap out the REGISTERED SIM and replace with a compatable SIM on another network.
CAVEATS
Only the original SIM and Account holder can initiate an unlock- If you bought the phone used/second hand you CAN NOT UNLOCK through official routes
Once unlocked use of a Mobile Virtual Network SIM may result in difficulties sending SMS messages.
You may have to go into Setting /Network/Cellular/Cellular Data Network and enter the correct settings manually.
Further caveat Cellular Data Network menu is SIM card dependant if its not supported you CAN NOT change the settings manually then you may need to contact the SIM card company - They can send a setup SMS if they support this process.
Sorry for the lecture.

ONLY REGISTERED ACCOUNT HOLDER AND SIM CARD CAN BE USED TO UNLOCK THROUGH OFFICAL ROUTES
ANYONE SELLING THEIR IPHONE SHOULD UNLOCK THE DEVICE BEFORE SELLING ON -
We have Adobe CS6 installed at work and every couple of weeks Acrobat just crashes silently and then refuses to load, even when opened via short cut, windows context menu, etc. Repairing the install doesn't fix this issue and instead I have to completely uninstall CS6 and reinstall to get Acrobat to work again for a few more weeks until it repeats. I am not the only one in the office having this issue.
I had a look into windows application logs and found this entry logged for the exact time acrobat silently crashed:
Faulting application name: Acrobat.exe, version: 10.1.1.33, time stamp: 0x4e64e9d5
Faulting module name: Acrobat.dll, version: 10.1.1.33, time stamp: 0x4e64fa0a
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00020bd8
Faulting process id: 0x225c
Faulting application start time: 0x01cf2351bc3ef267
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.dll
Report Id: 49b20389-8f45-11e3-b30b-90b11c5f8db5
The computer was fresh out the box running windows 7 64bit and has nothing other than CS6 installed. While Acrobat wont work at all, Photoshop and other CS6 applications installed work fine.
Anyone know of a fix?Have you tried the updates? AA X is at 10.1.9. At least you have 10.1, that was the minimum required for 64-bit systems. When it fails, was there something else that was installed or updated just before the crash? Was there any error code given when the failure occurred. I see that you got the log entry and that is good, but not very useful to users like us -- only maybe to Adobe staff.
What where you doing in Acrobat when the failure occurred? Does Distiller still open? Can you print to a PDF? Just trying to home in on what might be the issue.
If you proceed with a reinstall (since you can't repair), do the following steps: Uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left overs of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. After the install, do the updates to 10.1.9. I would then suggest backing up the drive or at least the registry and Adobe folder in Program Files (X86). With the latter, you might be able to get things back. At least with the Acrobat folder you can see if it is related to any files there having problems or something in the registry. There are a few files in the system32 (or 64?) folder also.
You might also try http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?cat=support&loc=en_us to see if there are specific Adobe recommendations about your problem. However, specifics are needed and it is hard for me to provide an inquiry based on what you have given, though it may be all you can easily tell us. -
PS CS6 trial crashes after importing huge image from scanner
Hi.
Here is my hardware:
Macbook pro 4 GB DDR3 core i5 with plenty of HD space
Epson V700 scanner (6400 dpi scanning capability)
My Software:
Adobe CS6 trial
What I want to do:
Scan a typical photo that is 6 by 6 inches at 6400 dpi as a bitmap, for utmost quality
What I tried:
File -> Import -> Images from device -> then selected my scanner, set it to scan at 6400 dpi and save as a bitmap
My problem:
When the scanner head is done scanning and the progress bar for scanning the image completes and moves to the next step (presumably writing the image to the file), PS crashes and gives me an error log. It is far too detailed for me. I have no problem scanning images at lower resolutions like 1200 dpi. But this scanner is capable of 6400 dpi and I want to take full advantage of it. I cannot use the scanner software that came with teh scanner because tech support told me the scanner software has a 1.something GB file limit size. They told me 3rd party software like PS should be able to scan unlimited file sizes.
I suspect the file size migh be too large (16 GB)
My question:
Is this a bug in the trial or something? Should PS be able to scan a 6 by 6 inch photo at 6400 dpi and save it as a bitmap?
Any 1st thoughts? I imagine it would be useful to upload the error log. I can do that if it is ok to do so
Thanks, your help is appreciated since I would lik eto scan this image at 6400 dpi. If I am given a solution, I will probably buy the full versionThat's a bigger image than photoshop elements can handle (the pixel dimensions are roughly 38,400 x 38,400)
I suspect the problem in cs6 is more due to lack of ram on your machine (compared to the file size), but you should really ask about cs6 on the photoshop forum:
http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/general
Also unless the photo is a slide or negative, you probably don't need to scan at max resolution.
Anyway for elements you'd need to reduce either the dpi or specify a smaller size than 6 x 6.
And then probaly scan (save) to your hard drive instead of scanning from within elements to a file format such as tif with compression if the scanner offers that option.
It depends on what your scanning, but for example i usually scan 35 mm slides at 4800 dpi (different scanner) at there default size (24mm x 36mm) and the file size is usually in the 200 to 300 mb range.

Why I have little stops when playing a made DVD?
I have made a DVD from an exported sequence as Quick Time Movie to make a DVD, but when I play it, it runs with little stops, as it had some freeze frames. I shot the project in HDV-HD24p(JVC200U camera), and edited in FCP 6.0.6 Studio 2, the Sequenc
