Web dynporo run-time methods parameters

What is the best way of finding web dynpro run time method parameters ? I'm talking about methods like get_selected_parameters(), get_child_node etc..

You can use the Web Dynpro Wizard this will give you the required coding
or
go to attributes of the view
the context in the VIEW is of type IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE. double click on this class you can find all the methods from there you can go to the parameter list
for that matter if you know a class the same can be done

Hello again,
I ran into a problem. I need to check <b>user's authorization during webtemplate execution (run-time)</b>. I want to have a possibility to allow in one web template extra functionality (through template menu) to key users. Normal users, who are running same report, should not have this extra menu visible.
Is it possible to check user authorizations or roles during web-template run-time?

From my logic your are right.
The restriction is in two new roles (Requestor and Approver role).
But ->
If I assign my approver role the selection possiblities of the request types during the AR creation is restricted and the AR search function does not work.
If I assign my requestor role the restriction of the request type is not there, but the AR search function works again. :-(
If I assign the original approver role of sap I have the same behavoiur for the AR search.
Both new roles are a 1:1 copy of the SAP standard roles - > Exception, ristriction on request type 'Execption Approval' is not displ.
I have execute ST01 now. If I try to open the log, the system syst "No records that correspond to these search criteria".
But I have found something else.
The problem appears only if I search for Process ID "Access Request Approval Workflow".
If I select other Process ID such as "Control Assignment Approval Workflow" or "Fire Fighter Log Report Review Workflow", everything works fine.
Very strange!

Adf web service run time cast error

When I run the web service using the test client, I get the following error after entering the parameter and invoke

given 11.1.1.3 this an old version of JDeveloper, can you create a simple testcase using a newer build e.g. 1.1.1.6 or 11.1.17? This prevents chasing down old issues.

Run time error in Web Application design

I have several run time errors whe I deal with big web templates in WAD. Sometimes the error raises when i try to move in html section of the web template (run time error 5: invalid procedure call or argument), some time when i try to open the template (run time error 9: subscript out of range).Did someone have the same problem? I saw a forum specking about librfc.dll file, but i couldn't find many details.

you can check in bex, 'business explorer'->help->about.
the info version 3500.x.yy; x is the support package level.
i have tried to use front end 3.5 to access bw 3.0, WAD open like to errors, after patch 7 applied, seems ok.
you may try with front end 3.0b

JSP, Data Web Bean, BC4J: Setting the where clause of a View Object at run time

I am trying to develop a data web bean in which the where clause of a View Object will be set at run time and the results of the query then displayed.
My BC4J components are located in one project while the coding for the data web bean is in another project. I used the following code bu t it does not work. Could you please let me know what I am doing wrong?

What I'm wondering is ... can I change the parameters at run
time by using the above code somehow? For example, can I change the
autoStart parameter to true, so now the video would start
automatically when the page is loaded. Or, could I change the
contentPath parameter so the code would now play a different flv
file?

Thanks for the quick response. Your suggestion works almost
perfectly. I can now change the flv to any flv I want, and it plays
the video I want. However, even though I am specifying
autoPlay=false, it still plays automatically when the page loads.

Any idea why it will not recognize the autoStart paramenter?
By the way, I had to change your myFLV.autoStart - autoS to
flvPlayback.autoPlay=autoStart. The actual name of the parmameter
is autoPlay, not autoStart. My guess is that was just a typo on

How to set App Module Config parameters at run time?

I am using jdev 11.1.1.3 and developed a Fusion Web Application application.
Before moving the code to production I want to have a stress testing where I should be able to set the application module configuration parameters at run time.
So I would like to know what are the options are there to achieve this instead of setting the same in design time.

Accessing web service in run-time

In the project I am currently working we have a component (Device Monitor) that needs to access other web services which contain the same interface (MonitorRemote). The webservices wit the MonitorRemote interface register in run-time giving their end-point, wsdl url and any other information that we may need.
My problem is to access these webservices in run-time. I have tried many approaches and nothing seems to work.
Currently I am creating 2 webservices with the same MonitorRemote remote interface but different name, service name and portName.
I try to execute the following:

Before the execution I test my TimeoutMonitorService with the webservice navigator and it works fine. After I execute line 9) the TimeoutMonitorService crashes giving the following message:

Run-time error -2147417848 (80010108), method '~' of object '~' failed

I have an application written in VB6 which uses Crystal 9 Reports (RDC). The application is running on Windows XP, SP2.
On this PC is .net Framework 2.0 installed and since then from time to time I get the message:
run-time error -2147417848 (80010108), method '' of object '' failed
But this error doesn't appear always, but when it happens, it happens always at setting the datasource
example:
repReport.Database.SetDataSource rsDummy
Does anybody know why this is?

Hi, Urs;
Whereever the error is occuring, you should ensure you have the latest version of our files. For a client install, be sure that you are using the latest Merge Modules from our web site to deploy your application.
If you are not getting the error on your development system, you may have newer files there than on the client.

Find out method argument values at run time

I am looking to find out the argument names and values of a method at run time. (This would allow for instance to automatically log argument names and values without writing tedious code).

As there is no Method-Object representing the current method call, I doubt you will get hands on the arguments passed to the method other than referencing them or building a framework "on top" (as, e.g., AspectJ). Also, Method in reflections does not hold the names of parameters, so it will be difficult to automatically print information on more than the signature.
The following is a not very robust, little play-around code for logging. Maybe it delivers enough information for some situations:

One of our users is getting the following Microsoft Visual Basic error while running the report S_ALR_87013614.
Run-time error '1004'
Method 'Container' of object '_Workbook' failed.
I have searched the forum posts for help. But I only found some details related to Run-time error 1004 related to some excel file security but not related to "Method 'Container' of object '_Workbook' failed".
Could anyone please tell me how this error can be eliminated for the user?

Dear Arpan,
We too observed a few PIDs along with the one that you have mentioned but they make no difference. Some users who has the PID G_RW_DOCUMENT_TYPE set with some value are getting the report.
Upon further searching we are assuming that it could be an issue with the Microsoft applications or macro settings of the user. But not sure about it.

You cannot generate items dynamically at runtime. The only thing you can do is show and hide item on time. Thay seems that they are generated at run time. Second thing you can do is that you can put items on stack canvas and set visible property of stack canvas to no and at run time set it to visible according to ur condition. Otherwise there is no way. If you find any other way, plz do inform here also.

Run Time Engine Web Service

Hello Gents, Anybody knows why I can't access to VI (*.exe) on remote PC. On remote PC has been installed only standard 8.6 Run Time Engine. Do I need to install additional parts like NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine Web Server or/and LV Web Server? And is it possible to communicate through this using RTE on both sites?

Sure, with LabVIEW installed it works properly. But questions is "how I can to view VI interface on PC with RTE installed via Web browser in case when this VI has been uploaded on this PC?".
It is mean that we are using Web Server for this. Are you sure standard LabVIEW Run-Time Engine contains this? And as I’m understood I need to copy *.html files to somewhere…. on this PC? Thank you for support and advices

it depends on what is in the method. For example a for loop executed n times would have a O(n). A double for loop (each loopp run n times) will have O(n^2). Do this: determine how many times each loop in the method is run. This is the first term in your runtime equation. Do this for all other loops in the method and add them all together. Most other statements that are not iterative should have a constant runtime so O(1). For conditional statements, the runtime depends on the most time consuming portion of the statement. Once all these are added together, take the O(equation) which should just leave the biggest term. i.e. O(5n^2+3n+8) = O(n^2). Hope this helps.
note: this does not apply to recursive methods
