Web Dynpro - Web service Model- nither output nor the errors

Hi friends,
I am trying a WD application with Web Service model. It is a simple WS, created for GET_FLIGHT_LIST BAPI. When I tried with Adaptive Web Sevice Model I got File not found Exception. So I tried with the Web Sevice Model -- Deprecated.
when I am executing the WS in the application I am getting output nor the errors. But when I am executing this WS in the WS navigator, I am getting the output. I checked all the bindings and mappings. I invalidated all output nodes after execution. And I am passing all mandatory parameters.
Helpful answers will be awarded certainly.

Are you getting any exception on execution of model? did you print any message in the catch block?
If not, please try to print the exception message and exception cause. (ex.getCause).
If you are not getting any exception, try executing the webservice directly in webservice navigator and check whether result is coming or not.

Restart dialog instances after activating web dynpro abap services (SICF)

Has anyone encountered a problem where you have to restart the ABAP dialog instances after activating a web dynpro abap service in SICF?
We're implementing some of the HR Admin, ESS, and MSS ABAP Web Dynpro applications. What is happening is that when we access these web dynpro abap applications the browser would go into an infinite loop. This happens only when we have an abap central instance and one or more abap dialog instances. It doesn't happen when we have just an abap central instance. The way we fixed it is by restarting just the dialog instances (the central instance was left running), but this isn't an acceptable solution for the production environment. Is there something else we have to do after activating the web dynpro abap service in SICF? We tried clearing the cache, but that doesn't work.
The landscape where this is happening is as follows:
1. SAP Portal is being used to present the ABAP web dynpro app. Portal is NW 7.0 SP15
2. There is a web dispatcher for both the SAP Portal
3. There is a web dispatcher for the ECC ABAP system. ECC ABAP system is on NW Basis 7.0 SP14.

Deploying my first web dynpro java application through NWDS 7.3 giving error

hi all,
i am new to webdynpro java. i am basically a xi consultant, but due to some work need to work on webdynpro java as well.
i went through the blog Web Dynpro Tutorial: Hello World
i am using NWDS 7.3
i created web dynpro project as per above blog. on the last step, it says to deploy it on SAP system.
now i have access to PI7.1 system only, though in our landscape, we have ECC system, EP system, BI system etc.
i guess the above webpage is referring to getting it deployed on EP system - but i have access to only PI7.1 system - in NWDS 7.3 in window - preferences - SAP AS Java - i have added PI7.1 system and it is showing there.
now on right-clicking web dynpro application, and selecting deploy new archive and run - it is not deploying and the web-page gives error 404 - not found. The requested resource does not exist.
can the web dynpro application be deployed on PI7.1 system?
pls suggest how to resolve this error. thanks.

the zip file got downloaded.
on trying to install through IDEsetup.exe - now i am getting error in installation - The installer cannot run in the 32-bit sub-system on a 64-bit architecture.
how to solve this error - i tried installing jdk-6u7-windows-x64.exe and jdk-6u18-windows-x64.exe - but still the error remains same.

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

DB access in Web Dynpro Portal Service / or EJB with WebService ?

I will develop a web dynpro application which will run in the EP and use an DB. How are the best practices in this scenario ? Should I use a Web Dynpro Model (EJB or WebService) for the persistence operations or should I use Portal Services ?

ok some words more... , I want to find out the differences between VC, PDK and Web Dynpro. Most of the parts of the application will be written in Web Dynpro. It´s possible to access portal services in Web Dynpro. But not with a Web Dynpro Model, so will going to use EJB/Webservice.
But here I have one more question... I am wondering why EJB a n d Webservice in combination !?!? Can´t I only write a Webservice o r a EJB to achieve the DB connectivity ?

Web dynpro web service consumption exception

Hi All,
I am getting an exception while executing my web dynpro application, which basically try to cunsume a web service method with a single input string parameter
Let me put down the steps I followed for developing this web dynpro
1) Created a Web dynpro project
2) Created an Application under it, and a component and a view is been associated to it
3) From the data modeler, created a new model, which basically inherits a Adaptive web service
4) From the controller I used apply template, which created a data link to the Controller and model
5) Created a datalink from View to Component controller and mapped the associated fields
6) In the Action tab created a new action "xx"
7) In the Layout of view created a Group UI component and associated all the fields from the context to the Group
8) Created a button to invoke the action.
9) Under the implementation tab, I called the execute controller's execute method
10) Controller class is fully generated by web dynpro , as I have given apply template (Binding in wdDoInit(), calling
modelObject().execute() method is generated by itself)
11) Once after building, deploying and running I got the screen with non editable fields and on clicking the button I
I got the exception as mentioned below
Exception on execution of web service with WSDL URL 'http://iwdfvm2225:50000/WsTest/Config1?wsdl' with operation 'TestMethod' in interface 'WsTestVi_Document'
12) But Web service works fine and returns proper value, when tested directly.(Using Web Services Navigator - Test )
Please help me to fix the issue

hi balamurugan,
Try to reimport the model once again and do a server restart. This might help you. Sometimes the mapping will not be recognised.so you will tend to get such exceptions.
You comment off the code where you are catching the exception and debug what values are getting passed to the backend.
If you have portal access, then immediately after you get this exception, check your portal log viewer.You will find out what is the error for.

Using EJBs in Web Dynpro and others model tecnology patterns

I'm having difficults in order to implement the business logic in Java.
I did a simple application and I put all business rules inside de controller in the web dynpro. Everything is ok to users, but I know that this isn't indicate.
I tried to encapsulate de business rules and dao in a session bea, but I'm not sucessfull. I'd like to receive advices/tutorial about model, I found some treads in the forum, but almost all links in the sdn are browke. I was thinking in using hibernate and spring, but I don't know with it's a good choive to sap world.

Issues regarding the testing of the web dynpro abap service

Hi all,
I am working on web dynpro (ABAP). After activating the whole object. When I test the web dynpro service. The browser gives me the following error.
The server <server_name> is taking too long to respond.
I am new to Web Dynpro ABAP, can anyone please help me telling, whether i have to configure system for testing the web dypro object. If yes then how to configure it.
also in the view the layout is not showing the elements to be included in the service.

I'm running in the same Problem as you right now.. but I maybe found something interesting!
Go to http://<hostname>:<port>/nwa
then to Problem Management - Logs and Traces - Log Viewer - Show View - General - Last 24h
do that just after you executed your WS. Now you should see the Exception!
Open it and scroll down!
Maybe I found my Problem..
"... Caused by: com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdCheckException: Value T0000000000ZRH TFS A U20081122 00000000000000000... is not valid; enter a value that consists of exactly 80 characters ..."
I havnt fix my problem yet, so let me know if you fix yours..

ERecruitment Services in Web Dynpro for Service Users

Hi,
I am currently setting up eRecruitment in integrated sytem with ehp3 and have created service user for Unregistered candidate and content server.I want to use Web Dynpro Services and need to know the Services in Web Dynpro to which Service users will be assigned in ICF.
Also let me know if in integrated System where Erec (support pack 14)& SAP HR are in One system ,Webdynpro can be used.

Web DynPro ABAP - Disable a entire row in the Table of the output.

Need ur Help.!
I have a requirement to disable the one row of the table in web dynpro ABAP
For example . my table is like
Field1   Field2
A           Success
B            Failure
C            Failure
I need to allow the User to select the record only if its status is Success,if status is Failure then i should not the allow user to select.
This enabling and disabling of the rows should be done before displaying on to the Screen.
Please suggest me ASAP.

please try this.
Create a node (Eg: TEST) of type 0-n and 0-1. Take attributes attr1, attr2, flag (of type BOOLEAN). Create a table and give the TEST node as datasource. Now using "Create Binding" create columns for attr1 and atte2. Now, bind the read-only property of the columns with flag attribute.
Now, in the INIT method, set the table values like this:
For examle, if you want to disable row having test2,
ls_test-attr1 = 'A'.
ls_test-attr1 = 'TEST1'.
ls_test-flag = ' '.
append ls_test to lt_test.
clear ls_test.
ls_test-attr1 = 'B'.
ls_test-attr1 = 'TEST2'.
ls_test-flag = 'X'.
append ls_test to lt_test.
clear ls_test.
ls_test-attr1 = 'C'.
ls_test-attr1 = 'TEST1'.
ls_test-flag = ' '.
append ls_test to lt_test.
clear ls_test.
lo_test->bind_table( lt_test ).
By doing this, 2nd row gets disabled.
Also, if you already have the internal table with values, based on some condition you can change the value of flag and bind the table to node.

All put together NetWeaver provides people, business as well as information intergration. Web Dynpro in itself offers an easy way to develop highly interactive web pages through the MVC architecture. The coding or the meta data is in Java and hence a JDK needs to be installed on the local machine for its compilation. For running it needs to be deployed on the J2EE engine on the Web Application server. The project object gets a URL and accessing this URL displays the web application developed.
Am I correct, till here ? If yes, then BSP initially used for making such web applications holds portability issues unlike Web Dynpro which can be used to develop applications in Java or ABAP, hence the reason why BSP is running off the road and Web DynPro is getting into the picture.

No, Web Dynpro is basically a programming model and SAP's strategic approach for developing highly interactive business applications (it's not really or only a web framework, even if it's used mostly in conjunction with Web browser clients). The Web Dynpro runtime is part of the Web Application Server (until NetWeaver '05 available for Java only, followed by the ABAP runtime). So Web Dynpro is an integrated part of the application platform of SAP NetWeaver, but not a standalone component.

The metadata is independant from possible target runtimes. At the moment, the metadata is used to generate Java classes only, but this is not mandatory. In case of the Web application server for Java, you need a JDK to run the server itself and as a logical consequence each kind of application hosted by the server (including Web Dynpro apps).

Nearly correct. In fact, each Web Dynpro application is represented by an URL. A Web Dynpro project can contain multiple applications, so there might be multiple URLs for different applications contained in a single WD project.

Roughly spoken, BSPs are for the ABAP "world" what JSPs are for the Java world. You'll always need an ABAP environment to run BSPs as you'll always need a Java runtime to run JSPs. Portability is limited in both cases to the corresponding basic runtime environment. But, as already stated, this is not really the case for Web Dynpro, since it abstracts the information needed to build the UIs in a manner which is generally independant from the target runtime environment.

Upload File in Web Dynpro Java CO and store it in the context

Hi Guys!
I have developed a web dynpro CO form, and I need to be able to upload a file in an action and then be able to download that file in further actions.. I have evaluated saving the file in the backend via RFC, in KM and also creating a CAF project.. but I think there must be a simpler way : saving it in the context of GP.
Does someone knows if it is possible to do that?

Hi Marco
In webdynpro java, there are UI elements File Upload and File Download. You can use these UI's to upload and download attachments. From NetWeaver 7.0 onwards, you have IWDResource interface which can be used to upload attachments. But in GP if you want to pass attachment to another action you must use Binary as a data source. Bind the File upload UI element to Binary. In addition, you should define input and out parameters in getDescription method.

I have created a Web Dynpro ABAP application. On executing it, I get Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDN) error. I have host name of my server.
I do not know domain name of my server. How can I detect it?
I want to know in Windows XP and Windows 7.
Please help me asap.

On your server run command ipconfig /all
FQDN = Hostname + Primary DNS Suffix
The make sure the profile parameters SAPLOCALHOSTFULL and icm/host_name_full reflect the same.
