Web Interface u0096 Characteristic u0093not indicated with comment facilityu0094.

Using the Wizard, I have created a Web Interface based on a working Planning Folder.
When I attempt to generate the Web Interface, I get the following error message :
“Characteristic <i><b>( name assigned to the Web Interface )</b></i> is not indicated with comment facility”.
Performance Assistant instructs me to “Indicate the characteristic as ‘commentable’.  You make this setting with the transaction UIBW”.
No processing occurs.  There is no online help to explain this further, and transaction UIBW is ‘unknown’.
I can ‘Display Preview’ the Web Interface, although I do get a pop-up indicating that there is ‘No executable version available’ and allowing me to set up Dynamic Preview.  The results Preview results are consistent with those reflected via the SAP GUI layout.
Has anybody experienced this before ?  Have I missed a step ?  Any insight or help is greatly appreciated !
Thanks,
Lyle

Hi Lyle,
1) It must be understood that the Message points to the characteristic that you "somehow selected" before this error message came up.
2) Please make sure that the Characteristic which you tried to change/set property ("before error message flashed") has document property activated and <b><i>is not compounded</i></b>.
3) When the InfoObject is compounded, you need to activate the document property of the "InfoObject(s)" listed in the last tab of InfoObject Maintenance (Compounding tab)
4) I was able to find out one OSS Note which describes the point (2) and (3). You could also check out and justify if it is applicable to your SEM-BW Version.
<b>OSS Note Number - 580581</b>
5) What you could also try is to create a document manually to make sure things are OK!
5.1) Execute the TA - UIBW or RSD3 and enter the Characteristic.
5.2) Select the Menu entry "Jump->Documents".
5.3) Create a simple document and save things.
I am not sure whether you would mind sending me the screen shots ( Screenshots embedded in PPT or WORD, Zipped?) of Object property (Characteristic which caused all this), characteristic adminstration tabs, compounded characteristics administration tabs at [email protected] (Only when the above points dosen't help you out)
Thanks and waiting for your feedbacks!
Good Luck!

  • Laserjet 4345 mfp won't scan to folder; web interface not showing all admin tabs

    Hi,
I have a laserjet 4345 mfp which, until a few days ago, was able to scan documents to a network folder. When I try now it gives me the error "the path cannot be found". Here's what I've tried so far:
    - Looked for a way to change the network folder settings or define a new folder. I couldn't find any so I printed the "how to scan to folder" page from the control panel. It tells me to define a new location by clicking the "Other" button on the control panel, but I can't find an Other button, on any screen.
    - Accessed the web interface, which only shows up  with the "Home" and "Networking" tabs - no "Digital Sending", "Settings", or  "Information" tabs, which should be there according to the manual.
    - Thinking it might be a permissions issue, I checked and found that the administrator password was not set. I set the admin password via the web interface, and now when I try to access it prompts for the password I defined, but still gives this incomplete interface. I am also able to access and change all the networking settings, so I don't think insufficient permissions are the issue.
    - Called HP support, they said the problem is permissions and I should cold reset the machine, which I am quite reluctant to do since not only all settings, but the entire address book as well, would need to be re-entered. This aside from the fact that I really don't think permissions are the issue, as decribed above.
    - Verified that I am able to send scans to different email addresses. SMTP gateway test goes through OK. LDAP does not, but this has not prevented scan to folder from working in the past.
I don't know how the scan-to folder was initially set up because I wasn't supporting this client at the time.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance.

I have a problem with my scan to folder as well and I have to access the folder from a computer before it will work.  I'm not sure why that works, actually.  You might want to give that a try to see if it fixes the problem.  If it does, I imagine it is some sort of security problem with the folder you are trying to scan to.
    Thanks,
    Tiffany

  • Performance Problems with Web Layouts in web interface

    Hello Gurus,
We have a a BPS web interface tool which has the following design:
1> A web interface with several tabs
2> Each tab has around 3-4 input layouts which are dependent on each other
3> In all there are 120-140 layouts that the tool uses...
My questions were in term of performance
1> Is there a limit to how many web layouts you can use per page/tab/view or if SAP recommends specific number of web layouts per page/tab/view ?
2> If there is a limitation...our intention was to convert all the display layouts into BW reports so as to increase the performance of the tool....
3> Would like to know the restriction on the number of users who can log into the tool as a specific point of time ? We may have 50-60 minimum using this tool.
I would appreciate your help in this regard.
    Thanks in advance

  • Deliver report to Content Store directly with web interface

    Hi all,
We are currently implementing a system which will use XMLP as the letter/report/document producer. XMLP will be accessed from other applications (Siebel, EBS or else) using a preformatted URL so that the user will be in context of the report/letter directly. We would like the user to generate the report using the parameters in the XMLP web interface and when the report is ready, that there was only a "Send" button which would put the report in a temporary folder in a Content Store (Oracle Content DB). We would like to achieve that without the user having to input the destination of the file, like with a WebDAV or FTP. So we need to customize XMLP to remove the "Schedule" button and change the behavior of the "Send" button.
We would also need to be able to send the context of the creation of the report in order to be able to store it at the right place in the Content Store. In order to do that, we would pass an Id by a query string in the URL when calling the report. I know this information is stored in the XMLP_SCHEDULER_JOB table in the DELIVERY_PARAMETERS field so it must be accessible in the app as well. A BPEL process would be used to move the document to the right place.
    So, 2 questions:
    - Is it possible to change the behavior of the "Send" button? Has anybody done that?
    - How can we save the context of the execution of a report to a file at the same time we are generating the report? (parameters used, template used, etc.)
Any clue, hint or helpful thought would be very appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Pierre-Yves

    Hi MadhuSudan,
I couldn't find the EBS Delivery you are refering about. Is this something using the Concurrent Manager from EBS? If so, this is not what I am trying to do. I really want to give access to XML Publisher and save the output report the user has made with the parameters he used to create it in order to store it in a content store. XMLP will be accessed by EBS and Siebel through a URL.
I am curious to look at your java program and shellscript, could you send me a link to the URL where I can find the information you were refering to?
    Thanks!

  • How to call a BPS Web Interface with predefined selections

    Hi,
I have read and try to implement the "How to... call a BPS Web Interface with predefined selections" but it is not working.
I have one Web Interface called ZXXXXX, then I created one BSP and copied the ABAP code into the Layout screen.
I checked the ABAP and it concatenates and fill the variable l_url, but the page is not displayed.
    l_url = /sap/bc/bsp/sap/zxxxxx/zxxxxx.htm
I have checked that I have no errors in the BPS variables and its values.
It just opens internet explorer and the page displays "<<<" in the top of the screen.
I am working with BW7.0 and BPS 3.5.
If anyone can help me it will be rewarded,
    Thanks a lot,
    Fernando

I think the problem is in the last part of the code.
    <frameset framespacing=0 frameborder=0 border=0>
    <frame src="<%= l_url%>" name="x" framespacing=0 frameborder=0 border=0
    marginwidth=0 marginheight=0>
    </frameset>
It is doing nothing in this point, but the ABAP fills correctly the l_url variable.

  • Loss the "Deleted Items" folder on Exchange 2007 WEB interface and any Outlook with any version.

    Hi,
My client had lost his "Deleted Item" folder in his outlook, and I try to used the WEB interface to help to check, also can't find out the "Deleted Item" folder.
Then we're try to used outlook 2003,2007 and 2013 also can't find that.
Could you mind let me know any solution we can solve this problem with my client?
    Thanks

I believe the Deleted Items folder was just hidden from view, as I don't think a user can delete their Deleted Items folder. Here's a KB for the fix: Contacts or other default folder hidden, but shortcut works with Open in New Window Article ID: 924226
(http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B924226&x=12&y=12). In short, you need to change the PR_ATTR_HIDDEN value for the hidden folder, which in your case is the
    Deleted Items folder.

  • Correct password doesn't work with Mail interface, but works with web interface.

Mail claims "The POP server “mail.nykayak.com” rejected the password for user “valerie”, yet when I log in through the web interface the password works. All other accounts work. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

Mackie, Welcome to the discussion area!
On your iMac G3, go to the AirPort menu and select the network name. It will prompt you automatically for the correct type of wireless encryption password.
I wouldn't trust selecting an option from Internet Connect.
In AirPort Admin Utility, what type of wireless encryption have you enabled? If it is WPA2 the iMac G3 won't be able to connect.
Also ensure that your AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) is configured to work in an 802.11b compatible mode. The iMac G3 is only 802.11b.

  • User-Specific Variable in Web Interface

I have created a manual planning layout with User-Specific variables – one for Sale Group and one for Sales District.
The variable successfully restricts user access to data when executed in SAP GUI.
A Web Interface was successfully generated from the Planning Folder containing the manual planning layout described above.
When I execute planning via the web, all possible values are displayed, even though the User-Specific variable limits this user to a single value for each variable.
Is there a way to restore the restriction defined in the User-Specific variable ?
I saw an earlier thread indicating that the “Planning Level” property of the Selector Variable Value for each variable used in the Web Interface Builder had to be set - but that field is protected from input.
Any insights would be appreciated !
    Thanks,
    Lyle

    Narasimha,
Each variable was created as :
    -     Replacement Type = User-Defined Values.
    -     Restriction of Values required by User = OFF.
    -     Input Allowed by User = OFF.
Several users are defined within each variable.
Most users represent Sales Representatives, with a single value assigned to each – a single Sales Rep is assigned a single Group and District ( i.e one-to-one relationship ).
The other type user represents a Sales Manager, and includes all the values assigned to the Sales Reps reporting to him.
When Restriction functionality is turned on, the following error message is received :
Restrict variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) (area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate)) to single value
    <b>Diagnosis</b>
Variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) (planning area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate)) is defined so that the user must restrict the values of the variable (indicator 'Restriction of values required by user' is set). However, you have not defined a restriction.
    <b>Procedure</b>
Restrict the variable or change the definition of the variable so that restriction is no longer required.
    •     To restrict the variable, choose Goto -> Set variables and search for variable UDSALDST (Sales District - User-Defined) in the list. Make the restriction and subsequently continue the planning session.
    •     To change the variable definition, choose the tab page Variables in the context of planning area ZBILLIC (IC Billings Estimate) and reset the indicator 'Restriction of values required by user'.
While the first option ( Goto > Set Variables ) seems to defeat the purpose of a User-Specific variable, I tried it.  When I use F4 to determine available values, it displays those previously assigned when creating the User-Specific variable !? – this doe not seem to add any more than I already have.
The second option effectively puts me back to where I was when I posted the question.
Of interest though, I noticed when the Restriction functionality was turned on, the “All” value previously displayed as available for selection was no longer available – but the specific values for each of the other Sales Reps continue to be reflected, and this user can select values related to another Sales Rep..
As mentioned in my original posting,
I saw an earlier thread indicating that the “Planning Level” property of the Selector Variable Value for each variable used in the Web Interface Builder has to be set – but that the field is protected from input.
Should this object property be ‘open’ to permit input ?  If so, is there a step or setting that needs to be performed.  Could authorization be an issue ?
    Thanks,
    Lyle

  • Is it possible to get print jobs from other computers to show up locally without having to load the CUPS Web Interface?

on my Mac Pro (Lion) I have a printer that I've setup to share with the computer devices in my house (ipads, computers, iphones)
Every once an awhile my partner forgets to check if the printer is on, and prints a document two or three, or TEN TIMES then then forgets about it.  Then when I go to print something on my mac I turn the printer on and all theses pages spit out.
Is there a way to get the local print queue to pop up on my screen when remote jobs are sent to my shared printer (just like the print queue would if I printed a document locally), that way I know about them, can hold or delete them without having to fire up the local web interface to CUPS?

As stated, my home laptop could still access localhost:631 with my ipv6 host line commented out in /etc/hosts. I just updated another post with what I think the problem is, which is a ListenStream=631 line in /usr/lib/systemd/system/cups.socket which did not exist in the 1.7.0 version of cups. The 1.7.1 version was pushed out sometime last month, which might explain these posts only coming up now (there's at least three I've found). Read more via my post in the other thread.
I know this is solved, but wanted to leave breadcrumbs in related threads in case the solution here doesn't work for those who stumble on this.

  • WRT54G v6 Web Interface Not Loading Properly

I just bought a WRT54G v6 router.  When I tried to configure it via the web interface at 192.168.1.1, the web page came up, but only partially.  None of the links were visible.  After reading other posts, I tried upgrading to the latest firmware WRT54Gv5v6_v1.02.2_fw.bin via the Management Mode because the normal web mode wasn't accessible.  The upgrade appeared to work, but the following screen was blank instead of saying "Upgrade Success".  I cycled power.  The normal web page showed the new firmware version number, but the page still was missing its links.  I tried the upgrade procedure again with the same results.
I downloaded the EasyLink Adviser and let it configure the router.  It appears to have been successful.  However, I tried the web interface afterwards, and the page is still not showing the links properly.
Is my web interface issue an indication of future troubles with the router?  Is there any way to get the interface to work properly?
I have tried the web interface with both IE and FireFox, and with my firewall/antivirus software turned off.  The Cisco logo indicator is the normal solid amber.  The power light is solid on.  The WLAN/1/Internet indicators are on and blink with net traffic.  I cannot find any other indicators of router trauma other than the web interface.

    Hi there, Lumen!
Have you tried resetting the router?
At the back panel of the router, you'll find a reset button on it. Press on it for 30 seconds while the router is on. After doing so, you could let go of the reset button and then take out the router's power cord for like ten seconds and plug it's cord back it. After that time, check if you'll have the proper lights on the router again and see if you'll be able to see the whole router's setup page this time.

    Hi Obinna,
    Sorry about the link :( The problem here is the fact that 12.3.(11)JX is a Lightweight image. Have a look;
Warning: All Cisco Aironet Access Points receiving Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(11)JX will only function in conjunction with a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller. They will no longer be able to function as Cisco Aironet Autonomous Access Points.
This product bulletin describes the content and delivery information for Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(11)JX. This is a Cisco Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP) upgrade and recovery support software image supporting Cisco Aironet 1100, Aironet 1130, Aironet 1200, Aironet 1230 AG, Aironet 1240 AG, and Aironet 1300 Series Access Points.

    You can use this method to convert the AP back to Autonomous Mode (and access via Web);
Reverting the Access Point Back to Autonomous Mode
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp161272
You can convert an access point from lightweight mode back to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS Release that supports autonomous mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3(7)JA or earlier). If the access point is associated to a controller, you can use the controller to load the Cisco IOS release. If the access point is not associated to a controller, you can load the Cisco IOS release using TFTP.
Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release
Follow these steps to revert from LWAPP mode to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS release using a TFTP server:
Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30.
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to c1200-k9w7-tar.default for a 1200 series access point, c1130-k9w7-tar.default for an 1130 series access point, and c1240-k9w7-tar.default for a 1240 series access point.
Step 4 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cable.
Step 5 Disconnect power from the access point.
Step 6 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 7 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
Step 8 Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 9 After the access point reboots, reconfigure it using the GUI or the CLI.
    From this doc;

  • BPS - web Interfaces

    Hello,
1)I am using a characteristic in  my header level restricetd by a variable. The variable is set to one value. The layout works fine in the planning folder but when I try to see it in the web it gives the error "Header characteristic not restricted".
2)When I change a layout, does the web interface gets updated automatically or do I need to generate it again.
    Regards
    Vanya

    Hello Marc,
    Thanks for the reply.
1)I am using the same variable.
It is for the characteristic 'Sales District'. The values for the same being -North, South, East & West.
And I had selected North in the set variable option.
The planning folder works fine with it without any errors. I am able to see to data for the North.
But in the web it gives an error and in the variable dropdown I get in one line '#...West'. Instead of showing North as a value.
2)Is there a guide for Formulas besides the How To papers available on Service.sap.com. The site has only one document for formulas which is "How to loop over reference data in FOX Formulas".
    Thanks & Regards
