[Web] Making conditional sizes

Somewhat related to Kai's question on full size downloads, I have a question.
To make a full sized version of the image, I can just call a photo size that is larger than the original file.. e.g.
['photoSizes.hires.width"]=10000,
['photoSizes.hires.height"]=10000,
I know Lightroom will not enlarge the file and so create a full sized version without knowing the actual pixel dimensions.
What I would require is a way of making this photo size only generate if the user chooses to generate it.
Yes, I can hide the file/links to the file conditionally in the code, but the files will still be generated. If the user chooses not to, I'd prefer they didn't have to sit through the generation of such files, not to mention the disk space it would take up (besides which we have no control over output space of the file in Web).
Any ideas?

Here is an example from the TTGClientResponseGallery. It's a workaround, but I too don't know a way to stop rendering of the images completely.
["photoSizes.hires.width"] = function() return nonCSS.enableDownloadImage == true and 10000 or 1 end,
["photoSizes.hires.height"] = function() return nonCSS.enableDownloadImage == true and 10000 or 1 end,
The nonCSS.enableDownloadImage is set with a check box. If it's true, then the image size is at maximum otherwise it's 1 pixel image.
I had this idea last year, when Matthew started with the Hires images in his ClientResponse Gallery.It was a pain to always wait for the re rendering of all images when only one of the image types (thumbnail, large image or hires image) was changed.

  • Change Web feed font size for C6

    Can anyone tell me how to change the font size when reading web feed using the browser. Basically, the text is too small and I can't change it when read web feeds.

    Font size can't be changed in the feed's "preview window". By tapping on topic (a link to web page) you can select the font size in the web browser settings or zoom by tapping twice.

  • Web gallery full size images blurry on .mac

    My photos look great in iPhoto. But when I have iPhoto create a web gallery and sync it to .mac the full size images are quite blurry. The thumbs are fine, but the full size images look over compressed. I can't find a place to fool with image quality for these images. Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

    Buddy:
    I found that the full sized images that I synced to a web gallery in iPhoto were jpg compressed to a quality level of 9 out of 12 (as determined thru Photoshop). I do not notice any obvious degradation of image quality. At 200% enlargement I did notice some unsharpness. My files are compressed down from around 2 MB TO 840KB.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Web Gallery Photo size

    How do you set the size ie Small, Medium or Large when uploading to Web Gallery? I see only the quality settings of Optimized and Actual Size. When emailing photos a window appears to set size how do I enter this feature for Web Gallery? Obviously I am missing something as the Apple help pages indicate this is achievable.

    Gordon:
    I see what you're referring to. However that paragraph describes the various situations that resizing photos can be done. The following paragraphs describe the amount of resizing for each of those functions. The paragraph for "Printing and albums published to your Web Gallery" it mentions only Optimized and Actual/Full Size.
    The paragraph for "Email or view-only website" referS to using them in iWeb I believe, not a web gallery.

  • Web gallery picture sizes

    How can I customize the size of the pictures that I upload to the web gallery?

    When iPhoto published a web gallery the file is resized to 800 x 600 pixels for the slideshow and individual display. If you select the option to allow visitors to download the photos the full sized, pixel dimension, image is uploaded as well as the 800 x 600 display version. The full version will, however, be reduced in file size which is equivalent to a Photoshop jpeg quality level of around 9 of of 12. The pixel dimensions are the same as the original file.
    Is there some other size you want to have uploaded?

  • Unable to use all the feature of my email service (Juno on the web) like; font size/color, bolding, italics, highlighting etc why? Those features work through Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

    When I go to my Juno on the web through Firefox, I am unable to use the tool features such as:
    Font size / Color
    Bolding
    Italics
    Bullets
    Highlighting
    just to name a few. Yet when I bring it up through Internet Explorer these features work, plus the way Firefox reads my Juno the tabs are distorted (the page is not formatted correctly, I contacted Juno they said I should contact my modem company AT& T they said no so you are my last resort.. Please help resolve my issue, THANK YOU in advance for assisting with this matter.

    It is up to Juno to enable Midas, the Rich Text Editor which is built into Firefox, with one little line of code on every web page that has RTE for IE. There's nothing that you can do to turn that feature on your self, it has to be coded on each web page that has Rich Text Editing.

    Their ignorance probably lies with their staff programmers only knowing how to do it for IE ''(their training and certificates are probably from the Microsoft cabal)'', and not realizing that Gecko and WebKit apps each have their own Rich Text Editor's, which require their own small line of code to enable those Editor's.

  • Indesign 2014 exporting pdf for web large fiel size

    I am exporting an Indesign 2014 file to pdf print for web. I have tried smallest file size, Acrobat 4 & 5 and also selected transparency flattener when exporting pdf. File comes out to 12MB either way. I have gone into Adobe pdf and optimized the pdf and comes out around 11MB. The Indesign file has some small photoshop images also layered vector AI file. I have flattened the AI file and placed that image in Indesign but file is still large. With the AI file I have exported it as a jpeg and placed that in Indesign and file comes out fine for web under 1 MB. Checking with the group if there is a way that Indesign can export the AI file without replacing it as a jpeg.

    Checking with the group?
    The best and most logical way would be to export a PDF from the AI and place that one, so ID just needs to copy. ID is not an AI-to-PDF converter.

  • Web gallery file size...do I have this straight?

    I've read through the posts so far. I'm new to LR (waiting for my package to arrive, so still using the trial).
    I set up a collection of 57 photos.  Most were raw, the largest being 167,866 KB.  (kinda large)  I tried to upload from LR (thinking maybe it doesn't work in the trial version as I kept getting errors of one kind or another?) and found the total of the files was over 176,000,000 KB.  Hmmm.  So, I went back into PhotoShop CS3 (after another program that usually will batch convert files didn't work) and saved each with 800 ppi maximum on a side, and saved them all for the web. (That took a little time, but not too bad.) Then I had to import the new .jpg folder, and re-edit each photo to maximize their exposure and such.
    Must I do that every time I want to post a web gallery?  In other words, I'll have to keep the original (larger) files, and make a smaller set for web plublishing, and convert everything to a .jpg file as well?  (I suppose there's no sense in filling my server with photos that are much larger than necessary, but it seems like a lot of extra work.)
    Also notice, if I have to start again (it is taking a long time, but then it's my first attempt), the collection I've saved has all the Identity plates and information I've typed in going back to Lightroom defaults, and the order of the photos goes back to random (after I've meticulously tried to put them in order).  Hoping this is just because I'm using the trial again, but no way to know until the box comes in a few days (I hope).
    The feature that caused me to make this purchase is the ability to do these galleries.  I've been looking at templates, modifying them, and working on doing this, for quite some time now. When I saw it's just part of LR...WOW!  I did get excited!  What a useful and wanted feature!!!
    It's more than one question, I know, but I've so many more!  Will the learning every become adequate to do what I dream?  (This last question is rhetorical, by the way.)
    OMGoodness! I thought I saved the gallery in the Collections...clicked on it, and no pics, nothing I did (for the second time) seems to be anywhere.  I have a LONG way to go in learning to use this tool correctly!  Arghhhh!  ... Last revision...went back into the folder, and everything is there.  Wow!  Guess I don't need it in a Collection.  Awesome!

    These files were scanned. I'm sorry, I forgot that.  They're old pics.  Some were in .jpg format, but most were in .psd format.  I converted them to smaller files in the Save for Web Device in Photoshop.  My next gallery will be shots from my Nikon D200, and I checked...the files are about the same size as yours.  These scanned files were considerably bigger as the film was pretty old.  Did quite a few of them previously to last night, and used a dpi (or is it ppi) of higher than 300 I did the last ones in. File size varied from 1,201 KB to 16.765 KB. (That bigger one was a 5X8 school shot.)
    Will it normally send the files to the web full size and then just use the dimensions specified in the program?  I have to check how much space I have on the server, but I do have another gallery I want to make, and I found a great plugin (here on the forum) to add mp3 music to the gallery. (I know, more space, but love it!)  I figured 800 pixels on the longest side would be plenty adequate for viewing, and the gallery parameters are smaller, so that's fine.
    One thing I don't understand, it asked me to place the files in "photos," but I don't think it uploaded a folder of "photos" to the web.  However, it's obvious the files went.  I was afraid if I used the export, I was going to have to upload the folder with my photo files to the server, but I think it handled that.  I hope I get a user manual with my boxed product.  It can't come soon enough!  LOL
    By the way, I successfully posted the gallery tonight.  It's really great, and my son loved it.    I am SO thrilled with this program!!!

  • Estimate ADF web app use size in Weblogic - quick question

    Hi
    1- Is there a good way to estimate or get a better accurate measurement of the amount of memory required/used by a running ADF app within Weblogic Server ?
    Eg How much memory footprint does a deployed ADF app uses (not including those apps that comes with weblogic installs in the deployment section of WLS UI) ?
    2- Because we have ADF as a web app, is there a usually a big increase in memory usages of ADF web app when more people are logged in ?
    Any memory tool as a quick way to get the memory sizes ?
    Thanks

    AFAIK,You need to first calculate the live data size for your application with the help of the GC logs to find out the ideal memory for your app to run :)
    You can enable the GC logs -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCDetails -Xloggc:<Filename> to find out the live data size for your application

    In short NO. What you have to do is to go through various tunning options at all the layers of ADF to increase performance as well as to have minimum memory consumption. Go through the Fusion Middle ware guide for the same. You can other memory profilers to understand how the memory is used by the application.

  • Making images size of browser

    hey guys,
    Does anyone know how to make a flash the size of the viewer's browser?
    I also created the layout of the website in photoshop and exported the file into dreamwearver. I've been trying for hours to make the layout the size of the browser, I atleast have it centered, haha. Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    cteixeira89

    Images are static by nature.  They don't resize to browser viewport without a great deal of help from scripts.
    Small background image gradients or tiles can be repeated to fill the viewport.  This doesn't work well on larger images or photos.
    If you want a Liquid Layout, use % width.
    CSS:
    body {
    width: 85%;
    margin: 0 auto; /**with width, this centers page**/
    That said, liquid layouts can be very tricky to work with. See the following demo and watch what happens when viewport is resized.  It's ugly.

  • CREATIVE SUITE 5 WEB PREMIUM FILE SIZE SHOWING UP 936 GB

    The file size of creative suite 5 web premium showing up 936GB in installed programes(windows 7). The actual size is below 4 GB. The capacity of my computer hard disk is just 250 GB only.  Iam not able to uninstall the software. Nothing happening when I click on "uninstall".  When I keep clicking on uninstall a pop up message says that "please wait while the current program is uninstalled or being changed" but this is just a pop up message. I waited over 3 hours but the unintallation is not processing at all.  Attempted to uninstall several times but same result. Tried to install the creative suite using the CD thinking that i get a notification that the software is already installed. But the installation CD is just initializing and stops after that. .
    The Option " Save for Web devices" grayed out after I accidently removed the plug-in from PS CS5. I wanted to re-install the photoshop CS5, but the installation CD  stops working after the initialization.  Could someone guide me how to get rid of this issue?
    Thanks
    Uthan

    Thanks for the reply. but how do I manually weed out the install entries in my registry? could you please guide me with the steps? This http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html is not working I am afraid. I understand that I need to uninstall the creative suite before I run CS cleaner. But as I explained in my first question, the uninstallation is not working at all. Even I could uninstall the software, I am afraid that I may get into trouble if installatin is not working. All I want is that my photoshop error " save for web devices " which was grayed out should work as normal. This error happened after I moved the plug-ins.
    Thanks

  • Encryption of Web Services limits size of payload?

    I am running weblogic 9.2 and we are moving from axis to wls for the security features in the web services. I am getting an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException in weblogic.xml.crypto.encrypt.CipherWrapperInputStream when I am receiving a large message from the server. There appears to be a message size limitation problem when receiving on the client side.
    Does anyone know of any fixes or workarounds?
    Thanks,
    John

    I found this on page 27 of the May 2008 Web service guide. Hopefully this answers your question.
    Request Rate
    All integration requests (data exchange requests) in a session are subject to rate limiting. Rate
    limiting is implemented for the following reasons:
    ■ A user can perform long-running operations on the server that result in complex and longrunning
    queries on the database.
    ■ A user can perform constant operations on the server that constantly use resources.
    Rate limiting can alleviate the previous problems to some extent. CRM On Demand applies a
    restriction to each session to limit the number of requests for each second that clients can make.
    The rate limit is set to twenty requests for each second. This is measured as a minimum of 1/20th
    second wait time between requests.
    If the rate limit is exceeded, the following error message is provided to subsequent SOAP requests:
    The maximum rate of requests was exceeded. Please try again in <waitTime> ms.

    To get pages ready all you need to do is to use ready made templates given by Adobe.  They are all loaded on to your system and to access them you should do this:
    File >> New
    Now select the blank document >> HTML
    Follow this picture:
    This is all there is to it.  You do need to define a site first so that all your links work.  I suggest follow this tutorial:
    <http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/first_website_pt1.html>
    Don't get bogged down about screen size and all that nonsense because what you need is something people can see and which can be adjusted to suit your needs if it is not working.  Changing things is simple but creating from scratch is the most difficult part.

  • Formatting webI issue: page size such as othe normal US sizes are missing.

    In a WebI report formatting "//page layout > page size", the report page size issue of other normal US sizes are missing. Such as: 11x17 inches. Is there a way we can include these page sizes?

    I face a somewhat similar issue. We have existing reports in Reporting Services - that can present the complete data in one page PDF and similar page creation in webi is just not possible. With sections and data seperation the whole report comes in 3 or 4 pages and no recourse to manipulate page size.
    I hope BO provides more enhancements to Webi - once adhoc users start creating reports they expect to see formatting that's traditionally present in canned reports
