Hello,
I was told I might have more luck in this forum,
The following programs I have are Adobe Photoshop CS5 and dreamweaver CS4.
I've already created a web page home site and would like to add a gallery page without having to edit it constantly on a FTP server.
So what I want to do is when I upload a photo to the FTP server it will automatically use all the photos in the folder that I assign and use them in a photo gallery.
how can i achieve this? I'm told something about PHP but I consider my self a novice DW person

This is a free script for automatically creating an image gallery out a folder of images. I haven't tested it, so I don't endorse it, but this should get you started on the right path to where you're wanting to go.
In order to use it, open the index.php file it provides and follow the instructions for customizing. Remember to make a copy of it before you alter anything. Just in case.

Web site hangs when opened

I've posted a web site gallery, and everyone who's tried it reports that it opens the page, but no images load - until they press 'reload' on their browser. I always experience the same, on both platforms. It DOES load images instantly when I press the 'reload' though. Any idea why this would happen? The web site host has no idea (and they're usually pretty good).

Removing that had no effect, but I think its possibly a code issue, though it effects both PCs and Macs. I suspect it has to do with checking for something, but I wouldnt know.
 
 On the other hand, Dreamweaver, showing the page code, shows the following (notice the errors about 4 lines down) problem regarding the language. The line thats
 
 The last part: lang=en xml:lang=en>
 Is indicated in red underline. Dont know if it can be removed or even if its indeed incorrect (Dreamweaver indicates its a problem). The error says that the lang tag is not supported in Explorer and Netscape. Of course, I'm running Safari! Heres more of the code, from the top:

How do i incorperate the web gallery into my own web site?

I have a web site and i want to incorperate the web gallery created with Aperture in to it but i cant seem to get it right. I use fetch to upload and I renamed the "index.html" (from the aperture gallery) to a relevent link name but it just does'nt work.
Ive created the original web site with "Freeway 3"
I would be gratful if anyone could assist me.

I might be wrong, but it seems to me that what you're doing wrong is not pointing your main site into the gallery's folder structure. That is, there's no need to rename the index.html file that inside the gallery folder created upon export; you just have to point your main site's home page (or whatever page you want to set up a link to your gallery from) to the index.html file in the gallery folder.
For example, let's say your main site's home page is at http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html, and you've exported your new gallery to a folder named newgallery. All you have to do is create a link in your main site's index.html that points to newgallery/index.html (actually, you only need to point to the folder newgallery, since browsers will look inside the folder for a file called index.html, or home.html, or index.php, or a few others). The gallery folder's structure provides all the images, links, navigation, etc., for the gallery, starting at it's index.html page, but changing the name of that file doesn't tell your main site's index page to go to it. In fact, it doesn't do anything at all.

How to have more than one Bridge Web Photo Gallery in a site

I'm having a problem inserting more than one bridge web photo gallery in my site. I have thumbnails of different jobs and when clicked I want a new page to load with all the images of that job. I have one thumbnail linked to one of the galleries and I made another gallery and can't find the code to change to link it to the new html gallery. When the page loads it shows the first gallery I made instead of the new gallery.
Example:
I made a gallery of a deck job and on my photo page there is a thumbnail. When clicked it brings up the deck.html photo gallery made in bridge cs4. Good!
Now, I made a gallery of an outdoor fireplace and on my photo page there is a thumbnail. When clicked it should load the photo gallery of the outdoor fireplace. It loads the gallery of the deck instead.
I understand that the code needs to be changed to link to the new files. I changed the "resource" folder for the outdoor fireplace to "resource2" and changed the code script src="resources" to script src="resources2" and it did not work
I suspect that I need to change the code that points to group.xml and rename the new photo gallery group.xml to group2.xml so it will find the one in my resources2 folder, but I can't find the code anywhere.
Any help would be great. Also, if there is a better way of doing this let me know?

Maybe I can explain this better....
the group.xml file has the information for what images to load. When previewing the outdoor fireplace web gallery "of.html" it loads the "deck.html" web gallery. I believe this is because in one of the files it is requesting the info from the group.xml file from the resourses folder. I need to find where the code is that directs it to the group.xml and change it to group2.xml and rename that group.xml file for "of.html" to group2.xml in the resourses2 folder.

Ok. So Photos1.htm is the main gallery page.
And it looks like you have sub-folders with images in them like these from 2011 and 2010

Gallery web site not found

I published a 35 photo web gallery I thought successfully, but when I go to the url listed at the top of the photo event folder, I get a web site not found error. The photos did upload to the iDisk in the "sites" folder, but it would apppear no web page was created.. there is a web gallery icon to the right of the photo album name that was uploaded.. I have upgraded my iPhoto with the latest ver via software update.. any thoughts??

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try making some minor change to the gallery and republish. See if that will jump start the online gallery. If that doesn't work, mount the iDisk, go to the Web/Sites folder and delete the contents of the _gallery folder (assuming you only have one gallery). Then republish again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Expert Opinion - Web Site Moved, Gallery's Won't Display

Hi,
In an effort to be pro-active, I moved this website from MobileMe to GoDaddy. Everything transferred but the Gallery's wont dispay on the GoDaddy Site.
Specifically "Photos" & "My Albums". Any thoughts on how to resolve this? My preference is to modify the html files and not have to republish within iWeb.

As Wyodor pointed out it's obvious that the media folder for each of the pages, My Photos and My Alubms have not been fully uploaded. So there's no editing you can do to get them to show. You will need to upload those two media folders to your GoDaddy account.
You won't have to republish, just upload those two folders using a FTP client like Cyberduck or Transmit Both allow you to view your account on GoDaddy in Finder like windows that will allow you to drag and drop from your Desktop into your site folder.
I do not have access to the original iWeb Sites folder.
Why not? Since the original site is still online you should have access to the website files as long as you're logged in to your MobileMe account in the System/MobileMe preference pane.
The files are on your iDisk. While in the Finder use the Go menu and select Go ➙ iDisk ➙ My iDisk. Your iDisk will then mount on your Desktop.
Open it and go to the iDisk/Web/Sites/dougjardinephotography.com folder. It will contain all of you website files, the html files as well as the image files.
Drag that folder to your Desktop and you will have easy access to them to drag into your GoDaddy account.

Removing Flash Gallery From Web Site

I recently created and uploaded an LR flash gallery to my web site. Although I previewed it, once it was up I noticed something I didn't like and wanted to remove the whole gallery. When I go to the site I see my original file is gone and the gallery has been split into little component files, flash, pictures, etc.
Is there a simple method to remove the gallery or do I have to do it piece by piece?

IT should all be in its own subfolder (best way). then all you have to do is delete that whole folder.

Developing a web site (NOT just gallery web pages)

Web Galleries are great but I want to build a site around them. LR supplies what I need to upload galleries (look, color choices, etc) but I want to build a site using galleries as pages.
That would probably employ frames in HTML so I can have a Home Page with a menu that would be on every page, even those uploaded from LR.
If there are any tutorials out there on how to best manage building a web site using LR galleries, I would be grateful for the direction.

If you are using drop down menus for your navigation you will have problems with both galleries and frames. They don't allow the menus to overlap. However, there is a solution.
1. Use an iframe for the galleries pages. Your main page is the full screen size so the menus don't hit the edge.
2. Edit the index.html file created by Lightroom. Near the bottom there is a parameter called 'wmode' change 'window' to 'transparent'
Making these changes will allow drop down menus to overlap the gallery. Take a look at my site, www.aginphotography.com, for an example.

CS3 Web Photo Gallery index.htm renaming

I'm not sure if there is a way to change this but if any one know please let me know. I working to modify one of the templates for the Web Photo Gallery, and am wondering if there is a way to designate in the template what to name the index page besides index.htm or index.html.
I'm working to create a site that will have many photo galleries. And while it does work to have each gallery in its own sub directory with the main gallery page named index.htm. I would prefer to have the main gallery page renamed during the automation process for easier archiving.
Let me know if anyone know if this is possible.

There are could be hundreds of subpages in a gallery and I'm trying to avoid going back and redoing the link to each of the main pages. Every subpage points to the main page or the index page that PS creates. I can go and manually rename the index page but then the home button that is generated during the automation on each of the sub pages needs to be changed as well. I'm trying to avoid this.
Let me explain what I'm trying to accomplish. In the root of the domain I plan on having my index page (with a brief description about the company). Then I plain to have a few other pages including a gallery page. This is going to be the main page for all my galleries. Images will be places here that will link to the main page of each of the galleries that are created. Also on the root there will be a folder named "XYZ". This is were all the galleries will be placed under there own sub folders.

Finding E-Store Builder in the Sitebuilder in My Web Site

I am trying to find the E-Store Builder function in the Verizon, Fios, My Web Site, SiteBuilder site.
In SiteBuilder if you select Help, Index, E, scroll to E-Store builder you will find 20 or so functions describing the E-Store builder and adding products and allowing people to buy products using standard shopping cart and checkout functions.
I have pressed every button and selected every format and option and cannot activate the function.
I have called Verizon and they say they can't help.   I called Trellix, now Web.com and they say call Verizon.
Any help with this feature would be appreciated..

On the Business Tools there is PayPal, Coupon Builder, Forms, Table Gallery and Amazon.   No e-Store builder.   I also checked Recommended, Cool Content, Interactive Features, Multimedia without success.
On the Add On there is a line that says: Miva Merchant Premium but has no active links or explanation.
I called Trellix which is now Web.com and they do not support Verizon version and can provide no help because I am not a paying customer.   They offer a $19.95 a month web hosting using the same SiteBuilder.   I called Verizon and they say they do not support SiteBuilder.
Has anyone out there used SiteBuilder with e-Store Builder to create a site with shopping cart and checkout?.   (Check My Web Site, Help, Index, E-Store Builder for lots of info.)

SharePoint 2010 migration - web part gallery shows "This item is no longer available ... Click OK to refresh page

This error IS on the WEB PART GALLERY itself. I have dealt with it on other libraries by deleting the listview web part and adding a dataview web part.
However, if you try to add a dataview web part the web part gallery the gallery is not available under lists or libraries so their is no way to add.
I have also tried creating other views as suggested by some articles
I have the view application pages permission as suggested by other articles.
I believe I have read every article related and am unable to find an answer.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
As a side note, I have an option called "Manage Columns" when I go into the library settings for the Web Part Gallery. Is this normal or is it some sort of add on.

Same problem, but with sharepoint 2013 after upgrade. Will post if i find a solution.
Seems like it is getting a 401 error on some URLs from fiddler. Here is a working list on a different site, same web application. the 200s are the working list and the 401s are the non working ones.

The Web photo gallery does not work in Dreamweaver!

I made a web photo gallery in photo shop using CS3. The destination folder is the web site I'm using it in. It links OK in the rollover image and will work if you click on it(swf_file) in the site file, but it will not show any pictures when I try to preview it with a browser or load it on the remote site. It loads the file but all the images are whited out. This is very frustrating and it must be something simple...please advise...Thank You..Thagoodsport

What kind of a response are you looking for with a post like that, seriously? Change this or that in your unprovided code? Use this or that gallery, which may be the gallery you're already using. We don't know because you haven't mention specifics, provided any code, or any other relevant information to produce a helpful response. All you've said is you click a link and it's white. Kudos.
We're not mind readers and no one is looking over your shoulder watching what you're doing. Get it together... and when you do, post a link so we can see what you're talking about. jeez.

My web site is messed up, don't know how to fix.

made some minor changes to my web site the other day, today I
go to check it, and it's messed up. Comes up with that blank look.
Not sure what I did to mess it up. I mainly deleted folders no
longer needed, and made a few changes to the "darn dates" listed on
my Adobe web gallery! How can I create a gallery without dates on
the photos?
Biggest question, how do I get my site back to normal?

It appears that you deleted files the actually ARE needed...
All of the iframe windows on your home page are looking for
pages that
aren't available.
You'll need to restore them or replace them with like named
pages.

Modifying web photo gallery templates

Hi all! I created a web photo gallery in Photoshop. I want to modify the template so that I can make the gallery look more in line with the rest of the site I'm designing. I see in the Help Center that I need to modify the "tokens" in the html, but I'm at a loss as to how to do this. Is there a site online somewhere that can explain this to me better? Thank you so much!
