Webdav fails whenever connecting to a url containing spaces

Whenever I attempt to connect to a webdav server that has spaces in the path, finder throws me an error.
EG,
1) Go->connect to server-> http://mywebdav.host.com/useraccount/documents/
works fine
2) Go->connect to server-> http://mywebdav.host.com/useraccount/my stuff/
fails with
*"There was an error connecting to the server “mywebdav.host.com”. Check the server name or IP address, and then try again.*
*If you are unable to resolve the problem contact your system administrator."*
It also fails if I try it with %20
http://mywebdav.host.com/useraccount/my%20stuff/
I've tested this on osx 10.6.6 and 10.6.7. It works correctly on 10.5.x.
Has anyone else seen this?

We are seeing the same problem. Not working for us. Tried both with and without trailing slashes, and also with and without %20 in the URL

everything worked fine if i relocated both the SDK and project dir. unfortunately most of our developers use SDK and project directories with spaces.

@mike - Ok I've updated my fork @ http://github.com/blegros/flexunit with the fix. If you don't want to build from source, you can download the flexunit.zip file from my fork and just pull the Ant task out to use temporarily. You can find the artifact from my fork's build @ http://flexunit.digitalprimates.net:8080/view/Contributors/job/blegros/lastSuccessfulBuild /artifact/flexunit.zip.

NTLM authentication fails to connect using webdav on osX

We are having problems in our organization getting our macs connected via webdav using NTLM authentication.
Our structure is as follows:
Netapp/IBM nSeries gateway/filer model n6040 which is our FTP/CIFS/Webdav host.
Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controller with Active Directory
Windows 7, Mac osX clients (various versions).
From the windows side, we are able to connect to our filer via FTP, CIFS, and http/Webdav after we authenticate using our AD credentials. From the Mac side, we can authenticate and connect to our filer using FTP, CIFS (using Connect to Server "smb://ourfiler.com") and through a browser using the address of http://ourfiler.com. This type of connection using webdav works with Firefox but not using Safari or Chrome but isn't adequate enough for our users since the browser based connection is read only. However, when we try to Connect to Server via webdav using our server address of http://ourfiler.com:80, we never get past the "Enter your name and password for the server "ourfiler.com."
We tried a third party webdav client on our macs: Cyberduck, which also fails to connect using webdav. We also tried a separate linux client and were able to connect without any problems.
Since authetication for webdav works on windows and linux, we're thinking there is problem with osX itself. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone suggest any workarounds/solutions?

Anyways, yes the DC is on a different subnet and no we don't have WINS. The way I understand it is the client will contact the master browser in it's local subnet... all the master browsers in all other subnets contacts the Domain master browser ...
and they share the server list this way... I mean it's a little more complicated than that....well to me at least...
Can you try resolving the short name with the domain controller being on another subnet and you having a different master browser in your client subnet?
What is the process the client goes thru when looking up Domain netbios name? LIke for DNS, it's straight forward... the client looks at DNS server, then for the SRV records for the Site the client is in and get's domain controller....... How
does this work for netbios domain name? There is NO WINS in the environment.

CTS+ - Import failing in JAVA system - could not connect to SDM URL

Currently I am setting up CTS+ for our landsscape. NW2004s Sp15 on SOlution Manager -dual stack.
I am able to create the transport from source system. when I click on Import STMS , giving the following error
class java.rmi.RemoteException:The user 'ADMINISTRATOR' could not be connected to the specified host
http://xxxxx:50018 ( also tried with SDM and other users) xxxx- target java system.
When I tried to connect to the url directly, http://xxxxx:50018, getting page cannot be displayed error.
SDM is running fine on target systems.
Configurations:
1. configured RFC destination on SOlution Manager (SM) system to connect to JAVA stack on SM
2. Created logical port
3. created RFC destination from Source system to SM
I guess, we dont have to do any configuration on target system (java). SDM is working fine.
Any help ?

Are you trying to login with the Native Admin user ? which URL you are using to login to Shared Services ?

WebDAV: Excel 2013 truncates the encoded URL at # (%23)

We encountered a problem on our existing WebDAV server with Office 2013. When a file name contains a number sign (aka hash, aka pound sign), Excel truncates the URL at that sign. Note that the URL is properly encoded, i.e. "#" is replaced
with %23.
Word and Powerpoint behave properly and have no issues opening files via URLs containing %23. E.g, for the URL http://server/otcsdav/nodes/1500722/doc1%23end.docx, Word first calls OPTIONS on otcsdav/nodes/1500722, then HEAD otcsdav/nodes/1500722/doc1%23end.docx,
then eventually a GET. The file opens successfully as "doc1#end.docx", gets locked, edited, updated and unlocked.
Excel, however, truncates the URL (http://server/otcsdav/nodes/1500722/excel1%23end.xls), and sends HEAD for /otcsdav/nodes/1500722/excel1, which, of course, returns 404.
Funny enough, double-encoding (i.e. to %2523) seems to work for Excel, but breaks everything else. I.e, with url = "otcsdav/nodes/1500722/excel1%2523end.xls" Excel sends HEAD for "/otcsdav/nodes/1500722/excel1%23end.xls", while Word will
send HEAD for the URL verbatim, i.e. "/otcsdav/nodes/1500722/doc1%2523end.docx"
Does anyone know it it's an Excel bug? is there anything we can do to circumvent this?
P.S.1 Excel 2010 works just fine, the issue first appeared in Excel 2013.
P.S.2 I know that Sharepoint doesn't support "#" in filenames. Our server is NOT Sharepoint, and "#" doesn't seem to be disallowed in WebDAV protocol.

Decision Service calls failing with connection refused

Hi All,
Breifing of the bpel process - Async bpel process XX_BPEL_ASYNC_002 calls decision services and a sync bpel process XX_BPEL_SYNC_001.
We have moved to cluster 10.1.3.5.0 from 10.1.3.3.0 and the deployement of the bpel process and the decision service done on two nodes i.e., node51 and node55.
But the bpel process is able to call the decision service only when the node 51 is UP and running, but if node 51 is down and node 55 is up and running it is failing with connection refused error. It is also working when 55 is DOWN and 051 is UP.
the exact error is:
exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection refused.
We are using file based repository.
It is failing when it tries to call particular url:
http://loadbalancerurl:7777/orabpel/domain001/XX_BPEL_ASYNC_002/1.0/decisionservices.decs
Can anyone please help me or advice me for finding some solution.

It has been a while since we resolved this problem. But these were the basic steps that we had taken.
The receiver was configured a File adatpter with FTP:
Port: 10021
Connection security : FTPS (FTP using SSL/TLS) for Control and Data Connection
Command Order: AUTH TLS,USER,PASS,PBSZ,PROT
Problem: The message was blocked in our firewall.
FTPS in this case used 10021 as the control port and the firewall allowed to pass the control request.
Once the connection was accepted at the control level, it generated a random port number to pass data on the channel.
This random port number was blocked in the firewall.
We monitored the data port numbers generated at firewall. Then we configured the firewall to open any port number between the specific IP addresses of the sender and the receiver. That resolved the problem.

Failed to connect to database ONLY at the first time

Hi all, I installed Discoverer 10g version and I'm using an Application User to connect to the server where's the Db is installed.
Every time I try to connect to the server with Discoverer Viewer or Desktop I have a curious behavior....
ALWAYS but ONLY the first time I try to connect I have the following error :
- Failed to connect to database - Unable to connect to Oracle Applications database: invalid username/password.
If I try to re-connect again the second time it works perfectly !!....so, I think, there's nothing related with my .dbc file.
I tried also to write the ':' at the end of the user name....but it didn't work.
Into the pref.txt file doesn't exist a parameter like DefaultUserTypeIsApps to set....
Anybody have had the same "strange" behavior and found a solution or workaround ?

This note is very useful but into the solution the point 3 is not correct !
3. Modify the servername parameter to indicate the fully qualified servername.domain
Example:
An httpd.conf setting of: ServerName my_servername.mydomain.com should match a Discoverer Plus URL like http://my_servername.mydomain.com:7778/discoverer/plus
I had this problem both with Viewer and Plus...so instead to change the server name parameter (into the Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf file) with my complete URL (http://gnvdev.ote.gr:7779/discoverer/plus), I just write my right server name:
Example
After the installation of the Discoverer 1og server, into the httpd.conf file it was written automatyically: ServerName gnvdev
I just modified in ServerName gnvdev.ote.gr and both Viewer and Plus started to work perfectly at the first time.

Publishing error (failed to connect to server)

Using X5, I am trying to publish to our help server (web help
pro), but getting a message in the output window "Warining: Failed
to publish to 'yourserver'. reason: Failed to connect to server.
All my permissions are set up as described here:

So... I ran a packet sniffer and then tried to publish
again... and saw that the publisher attempts to access
http://yourserver/robo/robo.dll?mgr=sys&cmd=svr
When I try to access this address in a browser, I get a 401 error
with the message below.

I can not seem to figure out what ACL is incorrect. I tried
running process monitor (from winternals), and did not see anything
helpful. The IIS www worker process seems to access all the robo
files/registry without error.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can I get some guidance on
how to resolve? We are about to purchase support incidents, but the
sooner I can resolve, the better.

I'm afraid I won't be of much help except to say that this is
a classic permissions issue. I have to assume you've checked and
double-checked the link referred to in your post (which is a good
one).

that there are firewall issues that are not obvious especially if
you are in a large organization crossing many domains from author
to server. Are you the ultimate "server admin" or is there someone
in your organization's network admnistration who could help resolve
the permission issue?

SSRS: Failure sending mail: The transport failed to connect to the server.

I run SSRS and email reports using SMTP service on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box. This has been working for months and stopped today around noon.
I have checked all SMTP settings and verified they are correct. I can send an email from SQL Server Management Studio, using SMTP service with no trouble.
Now in SSRS I am getting this message:
Failure sending mail: The transport failed to connect to the server.
I have read every link when I google this message or type it into bing.com; yet cannot find a reason why SSRS has suddenly stopped emailing my reports.
I have restarted the server in question, I have changed account names, I have changed passwords, yet nothing is working.
I even approached our senior dba about it and he has never seen this happen.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

IDS is not an issue. Neither is the Windows Firewall on the server. I actually turned it off while troubleshooting to make sure it was not causing the issue.
SSRS and my SMTP Virtual service are on the same server. I am running the SMTP service through IIS. I even created a new SMTP Service to test with. No luck.

MDBs failed to connect to remote JMS server

Hi,
          We currently have 2 clusters: one is a regular cluster (cluster1) and the other is JMS cluster (cluster2). Our JMS server and filestore are targeted to a migratable server in JMS cluster.
          In our weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, we added element <provider-url> to the <message-driven-descriptor> to allow JMS remote connection as follows:

          When I re-targeted the JMS server and filestore to a regular server (instead of migratable server), I was able to connect remotely. But because we want to be able to migrate our JMS server (auto and manually), I have to target it to a migratable server.
          I could not figure out why my MDBs failed to connect to a remote JMS server when it is targeted to a migratable server? Is there a restriction that we have to target to a regular server in order to connect remotely or I'm doing something wrong?
          Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using WL9.2 and my migratable server is actually up and running (is that what you mean about booted?).                    I meant checking your log files to make sure that the JMS server itself actually booted, not checking that the host WL server was up. (For example you should see INFO messages indicating that the JMS server has loaded "X" records from its persistent store).

          9.x MDBs have special code for enhanced handling of remote distributed destinations. I'm guessing that this code is somehow causing problems when the remote JMS server is migratable. I don't have enough information to elaborate further than that.

Access Manager Failed to Connect to Directory Server

Dear All,
I have problem with Directory Server connection in Access Manager. This happened in Production site, all application that integrated with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) for Single Sign On are not accessible after the Directory Server connection problem occur in OAM. The problem has only started occurring suddenly, before it the all service including the OAM and Directory Server is running well. Below are the error messages that appear in WebGate log file (ohs1.log) and OAM log file (oblog.log) :

The OAM using the Load Balancer between the LDAP Directory Server to OAM's component. When the error appears, there are no problem with the Load Balancer and all of Directory Sever services is up. There are two Directory Server servers in Multi Master Replication and 14 WebGate servers that integrated with OAM. Is there a limitation number of WebGate for integrated to the OAM?
I have tried to set some parameters in OAM configuration to solve this problem. I set the Maximum Connection of Directory Server parameter to 10 value (in OAM Console), the LDAPOperationTimeout paramater to 1 hour value and the LDAPMaxNoOfRetries parameter to 2 value (in the globalparams.xml). After set these parameters, the error is not appear in some days, but suddenly appear again in the same error message. May be set these parameters is not appropriate solution for the problem or the value that I set is not correct. Any experience with this?
I still don't know what the root cause of this problem. Restart all of OAM services (including the WebGate) is temporary solution when the error appear.
Any idea for this problem?

What do you means with the Directory Server's idle timeout is the "Idle Timeout" parameter in LDAP Client Control Settings?
I use Oracle Directory Server Enterprise 11.1.1.5.0. Now, the Directory Server's idle timeout parameter is "unlimited" value.
If the idle timeout of the load balancer set 1 hour, it means that I must change the directory server's idle timeout to be less than 1 hour. Isn't right?
