Webi-Break Export to excel

Hi,
How do I export a webi report to excel to multiple tabs (based on a break).
I have a break on Month in the report. When I export it to excel, I woulld like the each month to be on a separate tab in excel.
I appreciate your help.
Thank You
Veena

Hi Veena,
As far as I know you can't do that in Webi.
The only way to export on a separate tab to Excel is to create separate report in Web Intelligence.
You can try to duplicate existing report in Web Intelligence and filter (simple filter bar, input control, report filter, block filter, ...) your break to show only one value of your break for your table. And do it for the 11 more month. you'll get 12 reports on your Web Intelligence document and 12 tabs on your Excel document once exported.
A little bit "handmade" but I think the only solution mainly if you schedule your document to an Excel destination.

  • SAP- Webi Report Export to Excel

    Hello ,
I have Report developed in SAP Web intelligence .Report Displays dept wise annual summary. Now export to excel functionality generates one single excel sheet with all dept wise data in one single tab.
Is it possible to SAP webi to generate separate tab for each dept  in a single excel file after exporting it into excel.
So suppose i have 12 dept details in sap webi report in cross tab format  so after exporting into excel 12 separate tabs get created one for each dept into a single excel file
    Thanks & Regards

i.e Suppose i have result set for 4 different Departments in SAP Webi Report. l am expecting export-excel functionality such a way that 4 separate tabs(Sheets) gets created  for 4 different departments into one single excel after exporting report into excel.
I used breaks at section levels but that does't not worked out for me

  • Web Intelligence export to Excel misses some fields

    Hi,
Our system is running BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 with SP3 (no fix packs).  The behavior I'm seeing is when exporting a particular Webi doc to Excel.
Here is some background info for the document I am attempting to export to Excel. The doc contains a section and the section has a crosstab including description header cells.  I have added an additional cell at the top of the section with section specific information in it- nothing that strange yet.  If my InfoView (Web Intelligence) preferences is set so that 'Select a priority for saving to MS Excel' is set to 'Prioritize easy data processing in Excel' then the exported document is missing the additional cell at the top of the section (all other data is fine).  If the setting is set to 'Prioritize the formatting of the documents' then the Excel export works perfectly.
My question is why would this be?  The cell is just a simple dimension (string).  My only fear about changing this Excel setting is that there is a warning in the 'Business Objects XI 3.1 Release Notes' guide.  It states
Large Web Intelligence documents should be saved to Excel format using the "Prioritize data processing" option". The generated Excel might not open if the document is large and saved with the "prioritize formatting" option.
    Thanks,
    Steve

We are experiencing similar issue using BO 4 SP2 Patch 10 when exporting to Excel with setting 'Prioritize easy data processing in Excel'.  Exporting data worked after changing WEBI settings to 'Prioritize the formatting of the documents'
Documentation regarding this option states following:
"Under "Select a priority for saving to MS Excel", select the option that best fits your needs:
u2022 If you want to display the data in a format that is similar to working in Web Intelligence, then
choose Prioritize the formatting of the documents.
u2022 If you want to display the data in a text format, then choose Prioritize easy data processing in
    Excel."
If I understand this explanation correctly then both options should have extracted the same content to Excel. Difference should have been how the contents were formatted and should not have caused loss of information.
I logged support ticket for this issue.

  • Webi Report exported to excel issues

    Hello all.
I have a webi report which when  I export to excel gets intended to the right. That is at the top it looks right but as I scroll down it keeps moving to the right and at the end of the page all the data is completely moved to the right and is not visible.
What could be the issue? How do I solve this?
    Thanks,
    Nisha

    Thank you for your response.
    BO Version : 3.1
    Excel: 2010
yes the columns get shifted to the right as seen in the screenshot. So as I keep scrolling down the report shifts to the right and disappears as we keep scrolling.

  • Web report Export to Excel Issue

    Hi,
I've tried to look at one of the issues already logged about the Export to Excel functionality and I was not able to find a solution to my problem.
In my organization we are using BW 3.5. And when I run a web report, and try to export to excel a 15000 line report, I'm always getting only the first 400 or 500 rows. If I go to the last line and try to do the same, I will then get the full report exported to excel.
Any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    JS

Try to run the report using the 0ANALYZER template and see whether you can replicate the issue.  If the behavior is same with 0ANALYZER then it will be a issue with SAP code.

  • WEB reports exported to Excel -  occupys lot of memory

    Hi Experts,
When I try to export a report from Web or Bex Analyser to Excel. The report consumes lot of memory.
The same size of data in Original Excel file occupy less memory but when it is being downloaded from WEB and Bex takes lot of memory and It doesn't let me email as an attachment.
Can anyone give me a solution for it please.
    Thanks

Has anyone got a solution for this? Even I have same issue. User is trying to download the web report to excel, after downloading the file is too big (in MBs) and when the user opens and save again as .xls file, then file size is coming down to KBs. The default file type is Webarchive as I observed. Need to know if there is a way to change the default file type to excel.
    Thanks for your help/hints.

  • BW patch 21 to 23: Web report export to Excel

    Hi,
We have applied the support packs 21 to 23 on our system (BW 3.0B). When we now export a web report to Excel, the characteristics values are missing in the report (no cost center or account number) and only the key figure values are displayed.
    Has anyone experienced that ?
    Thanks

  • Matrix exporting to excel with empty columns, with page break option of "Between each instance of a group" selected.

I am working with Report Builder 3.0 I am using a matrix to produce grouped data on separate worksheets in excel.
    The select is:
SELECT ID, Measurement, Value, [Date] FROM Measurements_Report. (please ignore the underscores they are just for formatting)
The contents of the Measurements_Report table:
    ID__Measurement__Value__[Date]
    1___Hot_________33_____10/1/2014
    2___Hot_________44_____10/2/2014
    3___Cold_________55_____10/2/2014
The matrix contains a single row group based on the field "measurement". The Measurement group has the page break option of "Between each instance of a group" selected.
There is a column group based on the field "Date".
When this is matrix is exported to excel on the first worksheet (Hot) there are three columns as shown below:
    ID__10/1/2014____10/2/2014___10/2/1014
    1___33
    2_______________44
Notice the last column doesn't have a value.
On the second worksheet (Cold) there are also three columns as shown below:
    ID__10/1/2014___10/2/2014___10/2/1014
    3__________________________55
This time notice there is only one row and only a value in the last column.
I only want the columns with data for that worksheet to show up. How can I remove these empty/duplicate columns? Hopefully there is a simple fix. Thanks ahead of time.

With the following contents of the Measurements_Report table:
    ID__Measurement__Value__[Date]
    1___Hot_________33______10/1/2014
    2___Hot_________43______10/1/2014
    2___Hot_________44______10/2/2014
    3___Cold________55______10/2/2014
Returns on the first tab (Hot):
    ID__10/1/2014____10/1/2014____10/2/2014
    1___33
    2_________________43
    2______________________________44
In the excel worksheet it contains a separate column for each date with a value. Thanks again!
Why is the same date repeating on multiple columns? Do you've the time part also returned from database?

  • Output from Web Analysis Related Content will not Export to Excel

I have Web Analysis reports, data in which is sourced from an EIS database. I have drill thru reports that are accessible from "Related Content". The resulting report is created fine, but cannot be exported into Excel. Specifically, I'm prompted for the location of Excel on my pc. Once I browse to it, it will open in Excel.
I have upgraded from Office 10 to Office 12, although I cannot say for certain that is when this problem started occurring.
Secondly, there are no other BI+ issues with export to Excel. For example, FR and WA export fine. The ExcelPath in the webanalysis.properties file takes care of that. I'm hoping there is something similar to update for this problem.
Thanks for reading, hopefully someone else has encountered this and successfully resolved. BI+ version is 9.3.1.

Have you tried the print button in the web analyzer it does export the input filter parameters as part of the exported PDF document.
You can include any additional text elements and use a custom export template if required.

  • Export to excel/word/ppt failed at Web Analysis studio

    Hi,
I open a document and right click to select export data and select Microsoft excel or word or ppt, and after input the file name, it will prompt an error message saying "can not export to file".
Is there any prerequisite to use the Export to Excel/Word/PPT functionalities at Web analysis studio of EPM 11.1.2? Do I need to install office at the server side?
Or I need specific version of office at client?
    Thanks

From memory: you need to have MSOffice installed on the report/print server and also the corresponding mimetypes added to workspace.

  • Export to Excel in Web Analysis

We are in the process of upgrading to Web Analysis (and the rest of the products for that matter) 11G and we're having an issue when someone tries to export to excel. It pops up and wants the user to drill down to excel.exe so it can launch excel and open the report.
Has anyone seen this before? If so what is the resolution?
I know there was a config fil in Analyzer 7 that we had to update a excelpath variable, but I don't see anything similar in 11g and I can't find a good admin guide for Web Analytics 11g.

With System 9 and SmartView you also have the option to Export to Excel in
Query Read - preserves its connectivity
Fully Formatted - preserves its formatting.

  • Not able to export web analysis report to excel smart view from workspace

Not able to export web analysis report to excel smart view from workspace.
Error :Web launch operation has been cancelled.
Can anyone help me to resolve this issues

I realized that I can put a block in WebI and then I can pull that in excel alongside of static header, after putting the question.
My interest to know whether it is by design in XI 3.0 or it is an issue. But by the replies it seems to me like it is by design.
@Anis: I can't go for header as part of Body. Because this report is viewed in Web by many other users. I can't have separate report for Live office, it is a restriction for me. If I use the header in body, it wont look good I guess.

  • Adding "Filter Criteria" to the XSLT List View Web Part impact on "Export to Excel" functionality within Document Library

    Hi there,
XSLT List View displaying all the list items within the Document Library. In order to implement the Search functionality within Document library out of box "Text Filter" web part is configured as explained below. The solution is similar to
    the one suggested at
    http://www.wonderlaura.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=77
"Text Filter" Web Part added to the page.
Filter Criteria (i.e., XSLT List View columns) added to the XSLT List View where the filter parameters take the input from the "Text Filter" Web Part .
      3. Both Web Parts (XSLT List View and the Text Filter) are connected.
When the search criteria is entered into the "Text Filter" Web Part, it is passed to the relevant Columns of the XSLT List View and the documents (List Items) that match the search criteria are shown within XSLT List View.
    Search functionality working as expected.
Query: Selecting the "Export to Excel" icon from the ribbon generates the excel spread sheet with no data except Column Titles from the Document library. In the investigation it is
found that adding the 'Filter Criteria' on XSLT List View is causing this bug. When the Filter Criteria is removed, then "Export to Excel" functionality is working as expected.
But it is mandatory to add "Filter Criteria" to implement the search functionality with in the document library.
Help: Help/input appreciated on the work around to get the "Export to Excel" functionality work when the "Filter Criteria"
exist on the XSLT List View.
    Regards,

Once again thanks very much for your help Scott. very much appreciated.
In the investigation it is found that removing the 'Filter Criteria' on XSLT List View makes the "Export to Excel" functionality work. But the 'Filter Criteria' is mandatory to get the 'Document Search' functionality.
I think that due to technical limitations it should be concluded that 'only custom development can make all work, no code solutions using the SharePoint Designer can meet all the requirements.
If you can think of any alternative solution that could help in resolving the current issue or fix the issue without any custom implementation please inform. Otherwise this issue would be marked as resolved with your suggested response.
