  • [Blog] Monitoring WebLogic J2EE on VMware with VMware vCenter Operations (vCOps)

Monitoring WebLogic J2EE on VMware with VMware vCenter Operations
The Blue Medora vC Ops Management Pack for Oracle OEM was updated in early May (2014) to include enhanced support for Oracle WebLogic J2EE integration. All of the Oracle EM target types for WebLogic related components including WebLogic Server, J2EE Application Deployments, Oracle HTTP Server, as well as WebLogic Cluster are now available to be ingested into VMware vC Ops Enterprise Edition.
With the data available within these new vC Ops 'Resource Kinds', you have the ability to create WebLogic on VMware relationship views, WebLogic on VMware mashup dashboards, as well as leverage vC Ops anomaly detection and predictive analytics on your WebLogic J2EE landscape. Below are a number of example dashboards that were easily created using the WebLogic data available within the Management Pack.
The first dashboard, the WebLogic on VMware Relationship View -- helps you visualize your WebLogic environment running on VMware all the way down to the VMware VM, ESX, and even Datastore level.   This can useful for diagnosing critical J2EE applications running within the vSphere environment -- allowing you to quickly discern whether a problem exists in the Oracle WebLogic layer or one of the VMware virtualization layers.

Can you point me to recommendations on installing Hyperic on VMware virtual appliances?
Is it as simple as treating the appliance as a Linux VM during installation?  Can vSphere be used to deploy Hyperic to a VMware appliance like vRA (non-IAAS)?
    Thanks,

  • Where is "WebLogic J2EE Library "?

Hi, i want to extend Portal Administration Console, but when i do follow guide of oracle documentation, it seem not work.
Follow document : To copy a J2EE module to your web project:
    1. In the Project Explorer, right-click the //web_project_name/WebLogic Deployment Descriptor > J2EE Libraries folder and then select Add Multiple.
    2. In the Select WebLogic J2EE library, select the modules you need. The required administration console J2EE libraries are:
But i don't see where is WebLogic J2EE library. Can someone tell me where is it ? Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.
    Best Regards,
    Coy.

If you mean the folder 'library' like from the computer, the iphone doesn't have one directly. If you connect your iphone to your computer then, depending on what you want, you can probably do it via the computer or try downloading an app like iexplorer and you can access loads of hidden folders on your iphone. Hope this helps but sorry if it doesnt

  • Weblogic J2EE agent 2.2 performance issue

    Hi All,
Are these known performance issues with J2EE Agent 2.2 for Weblogic 8sp5?
Is there a document that tells about performance tuning of J2EE Agent 2.2 for Weblogic server?
We are doing the load testing with AM 7.0 and Weblogic J2EE Agent. We found that AM7.0 with Apache Policy agent works fine in our load test. Our Application's performance without the J2EE agent is good. The moment we add J2EE Agent for weblogic to the equation, it goes south...
    Any help will be appreciated,
    Thanks,

Are these known performance issues with J2EE Agent 2.2 for Weblogic 8sp5?
Is there a document that tells about performance tuning of J2EE Agent 2.2 for Weblogic server?
We are doing the load testing with AM 7.0 and Weblogic J2EE Agent. We found that AM7.0 with Apache Policy agent works fine in our load test. Our Application's performance without the J2EE agent is good. The moment we add J2EE Agent for weblogic to the equation, it goes south...
    Any help will be appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Vivek

    Hi,
Reproducing this issue is very easy.....
1). Just Create a Admin and Managed Server
2). Start AdminServer then from Admin Console Disable the normal listen-port for admin Server (suppose it was 7001 disable it)....AND enable only the SSL port for Admin Server (example 7002).
Managed Server (Listen Port=7003 and SSL ListenPort=7004)
3). Now Try Start Managed Server.
you wil get the Exact same exception
<Jan 20, 2010 6:03:19 PM CST> <Error> <Configuration Management> <BEA-150000> <An error occurred while establishing a connection back to the adminstration server t3://140.126.24.25:6001 during startup. Since bootstrap succeeded check that t3://140.126.24.25:6001 uniquely identifies the administration server.
javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException [Root exception is java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException: The object identified by: '31' could not be found. Either it was has not been exported or it has been collected by the distributed garbage collector.]
    And
    <Emergency> <Management> <BEA-141151> <The admin server could not be reached at http://140.126.24.25:6001.>
Now it will be easy for us to find out where is the issue actually.
    Thanks

  • Weblogic 9.2 distributed source destination problem.

(Tom, posting this here as you monitor this one). Answering your query as well.
We are using Weblogic 9.2 and have configured a Messaging Bridge (to connect to Weblogic 8.1). We have a distribted queue defined and 2 managed servers. jms-xa-rar deployed correctly and passes the test.
In the Source Bridge Desitination, the ConnectionURL is given as "t3://ms1:54032,ms2:54034"
Initially bridge as not started and both managed servers were shutdown. Then we brought up the 2 managed servers one by one, found that one member of source destination on ms2 had a consumer while destination member on ms1 had no consumers. Instead when turning on debug for MessagingBridge, found these exceptions.
    <29-Mar-2010 17:07:23 o'clock BST> <Warning> <Connector> <BEA-190032> << eis/jms/WLSConnectionFactoryJNDIXA > ResourceAllocationException thrown by resource adapter on call to ManagedConnectionFactory.createManagedConnection(): "javax.resource.ResourceException: ConnectionFactory: failed to get initial context (InitialContextFactory =weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory, url = t3://ms1:54032,ms2:54034, user name = null) ">
<29-Mar-2010 17:07:23 o'clock BST> <Info> <MessagingBridge> <BEA-200042> <Bridge com.bridge.somename failed to connect to the source destination and will try again in 60 seconds. This could be a temporary condition unless the messages repeat several times. (javax.resource.ResourceException: ConnectionFactory: failed to get initial context (InitialContextFactory =weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory, url = t3://ms1:54032,ms2:54034, user name = null))>
The whole setup works with just one managed server given in ConnectionURL i.e. "t3://ms1:54032"
Why is it unable to find initial context when we give a cluster JNDI for ConnectionURL in source bridge destination?
    1) With ONLY ms1 as the connection url for source bridge destination, it works fine and I can see 2 consumers on the member ms1 destination (no consumers on ms2 as expected)
    2) With ONLY ms2 as the connection url for source bridge destination, it works only with MS2. I can see 1 consumer on member destination ms2. Nothing shows up on ms1. when starting ms1, it did show some messages given below. I could not see JMS Server recognizing ms1 as Active Destination either even though server started up.
    3) With ms1 and ms2 in connection url, one seems to connect correctly at times but never both (never gotten consumers listed on both managed servers).

    Tom,
Please find responses to your queries below
Can you help me understand your topology?
-- Is the bridge running on the same server/cluster as its source destination? Its target destination? Neither?
Bridge is running on same cluster as the source destination, there are 2 managed servers in cluster.
-- If neither, is it running on 8.1 or 9.1?
    Bridge running on Weblogic 9.2.2.
-- Is the source destination distributed? Is it on 8.1 or 9.1?
source = Weblogic 9.2.2, yes source destination is a distributed queue (uniform distributed with member allocated evenly)
-- Is the target destination distributed? Is it on 8.1 or 9.1?
target destination is 8.1 and is distributed target as well. This is on a remote machine.
-- What is the bridge's URL for the source destination?
http://ms1:50128,ms2:50130 (I may not be able to provide details on actual IP or DNS, apologies)
-- What is the bridge's URL for the target destination?
    http://r1:40888,r2:40890
    More inputs
The connection factory on the message producer side i.e my end is Server Affinity while the connection factory on target side is Load Balanced
JMSBackendDebug on, I can actually see that 2 consumers are being created on each ms

    Hi
    Try to increase socket limits
Normally you can do this within the admin console , Servers -> Configuration -> Tuning -> Socket Readers
For you, since you can't login, set the ThreadPoolPercentSocketReaders in the config.xml to a higher value than 5
    kind regards
    Michel
