Webservice error in browser. Not in SoapUI

Hi everybody,
I hope you can help me in solving a webservice issue...
We are having a server in our network. This server has the IP 10.42.42.104. If you want to connect from the outside you must call 213.23.42.104. Then the firewall will redirect you to the server (10.42.42.104).
I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 and OC4J 10.1.3.3 and developed a webservice to save xml in oracle database 10g R2. If I test the webservice local or inside of the network 10.42... it is working fine.
But if I want test it from outside over the 213.23.42.104 IP address it is failling (only over browser, see below).
What I did:
- I gave permissions to ports 1521, 8888, 23791. So that all requests over 213.23.42.104 will come to 10.42.42.104.
- In JDeveloper I created the connection to database and application server over 10.42.42.104 IP address (I tried also with 213... IP address)
- I'm not using Proxy in the JDeveloper Properties
- I deployed the webservice to instance
Curious:
In the wsdl file we have a command line like <soap:address location="http://10.42.42.104:8888/VPN_Webservice-VPN_Webservice-context-root/VPN_WebserviceSoapHttpPort"/>.
If I paste the URL in browser inside the network the web frontend of the webservice will open and I can test it successfully.
If I change now the URL in browser to 213.23.42.104 I can again see the web frontend of the webservice. But after invoking I'm getting this error: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection refused
BUT:
If I change the URL in the saved wsdl file of my JDeveloper and import that in SoapUI I can use the webservice also successfully. Then it is working fine. Only the request over browser is failing with the above error.
Is here somebody who can help me?
I'm so confused right now and I don't have any ideas...
Thanks a lot!
Regards David

PHP packages from Fedora repositories usually do not contain OCI8 module. Your problem usually happens on the PHP installations that do not have OCI8 enabled. On the other hand, you are able to successfully connect to the database from the shell. That means that the PHP in your web server is not pointing to the same installation as the PHP executable in your path. The first thing to do is to check the httpd.conf, like this:
[mgogala@dibidus conf]$ egrep -i 'loadmodule .*php' /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
LoadModule php5_module /usr/lib/httpd/modules/libphp5.so
# LoadModule php5_module modules/libphp5.so
[mgogala@dibidus conf]$
I had the same problem and had to comment out the delivered libphp5.so. That module did not have
OCI8 enabled. Where did your libphp5 go? I am using CentOS 5.2:
[mgogala@dibidus conf]$ cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 5.2 (Final)
[mgogala@dibidus conf]$
[mgogala@dibidus conf]$ uname -a
Linux dibidus 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5.centos.plus #1 SMP Thu Aug 7 12:19:36 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[mgogala@dibidus conf]$
That should be similar enough to Fedora 6 and 7. You should also create a "phpinfo" web page on
/var/www/html and look for the exact versions and directories. Phpinfo page should look like this:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
That should give you all the information you need. Pay special attention to the directories and versions.

  • Connection Error in Browser, Not in Terminal

    Hi all.
    Using PHP 5 to connect to an oracle XE 10G database using the OCI-8 module. I'm using the following code to connect (login credentials have been changed):
    &lt;code&gt;
    $conn = oci_connect("user", "pass", "DB"); \\ if (!$conn) {
    bq. print("Failed");
    bq. $e = oci_error();
    bq. print htmlentities($e);
    bq. exit;
    } else {
    bq. print ("Successful");
    &lt;/code&gt;
    When running the script in the terminal, I receive the successful message. However, when opening the page in a browser, I receive the failed to connect message. That I don't get the call to undefined function error, and that it works in the terminal, leads me to believe that the OCI-8 module is correctly installed. Is there anything else I should have to configure that would cause this script to connect in the terminal, but not in a browser? Thank you for any suggestions.

  • Applet works on eclipse but not on reg browser (not inited error)

    Hi everybody,
    I've just made an applet, but I don't know why it can't be shown. I'm working with Eclipse, and when I run the .java file, everything works fine. It even works fine when I specify parameters through the eclipse build file parameter arguments.
    Now I would like this to work by using the appletviewer and my html file. When I do this, the application doesn't work anymore and I get this error: Start applet not inited and shows loading java Applet failed when I scroll over to the java applet box on the browser. (Mozilla)
    I used this code in the html file:

  • Workspace error: hps.browser is not configured

    We have installed and configured Planning and our users access Planning via Workspace. They access Workspace using the URL: http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp
    I have one user that gets an error when she logs into Workspace. The error is:
    “Required application module hps.browser is not configured. Please contact your administrator.”
    A little bit of background on our environment:
    <ul>
    <li>We are on System 9.3.1.5.
    <li>Shared Services user authentication has been externalized to MSAD.
    <li>When they log into Workspace, users are shown a list of reports. A native Shared Services group called “Hyp_World” is granted access to all reports. The Hyp_World group has been provisioned the following roles in Shared Services:
    <ul>
    <li>Analytic Servers: Server Access
    <li>Hyperion System 9 BI+ : Explorer
    <li>Hyperion System 9 BI+ : Viewer
    <li>Planning : Interactive User
    <li>Planning : Planner
    <li>Planning : Offline User
    </ul>
    <li>All MSAD users are members of the Hyp_World group
    <li>The user that is receiving the error is also a member of the following native Shared Services groups:
    <ul>
    <li>Hyp_Acct_Salary
    <ul>
    <li>Membership in this group restricts access to salary data within Planning
    <li>All Planning users (with the exception of Finance users) are members of this group
    </ul>
    <li>Hyp_Ent_IFS
    <ul>
    <li>Membership in this group determines the cost center for which the user can view data in Planning

    <li>Planning:Planner

    </ul>
    When this user logs into Workspace she gets the error: “Required application module hps.browser is not configured. Please contact your administrator.” None of the other 4 users that are members of the Hyp_Ent_IFS group get this error.
    The user (with the error) can access Planning data via SmartView so it can’t be an MSAD authentication issue. After she gets the error in Workspace, if she clicks OK to get past the error, she can navigate to Planning and access her data. She doesn’t see the list of reports and hence cannot execute any of them.
    I’ve looked through the Essbase server log and the Planning Application log and didn’t find anything. I’ve looked through the Workspace log and didn’t find anything there either.
    I’ve removed the user from all 3 Shared Services groups, refreshed Security Filters, added her back in, refreshed Security Filters and she still gets the error. None of the other 4 users in the Hyp_Ent_IFS native group have this error when they log into Workspace. They see the list of reports.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there some debug parameter that I can turn on to see additional log data as she logs into Workspace to determine why she is getting this error while none of the other 4 users in the same group are not?

    Turns out the user's preferences was set to open to Scorecard. Since we don't use Scorecard those services are not up and hence the error "hps.browser is not configured". I had her change her preference to default to Explore and now she is able to login without error.

  • Smart wi-fi browser not supported error by Linksys

    Linksys seems to have created a doozy of an issue with this "browser not supported error" they keep displaying.  Its as if head office is oblivious to this.
    I am running IE 11 with all the updates applied and it gives the error.  I downloaded firefox and it gives the same error.  I downloaded Maxthon cloud browser most recent version and it does not work except when you log in with your cloud browser ID.
    I have the latest version of Java  51 and cookies are enabled.
    The strange thing about the Maxthon experience was when I logged out it continued to work.  but when I went to another page and came back it stopped working.
    There is something screwy in the linksys firmware here.  they should have a bypass for this not so smart thing.  Its really not worth the aggravation.  Can anyone pinpoint where the issue is with this thing please?

    Have you tried this?
    -start with a turned off/powered down router
    -turn on your PC and clear your browser cache with the router OFF
    -prior to powering up the router... remove the WAN internet cable connecting the router to the cable modem or DSL unit.
    -power on the router
    -navigate to the correct ip address (probably 192.168.1.1 if there were no other routers in your network)
    -now attempt to log in using the ACCESS ROUTER panel
    -from now on it- local login should display as the main log in window with the smart wifi option in a panel below instead of the reverse which was the factory default.
    -reconnect your wan cable and use as always.
    -now the expectation is that you will always be able to log in through the ACCESS ROUTER panel locally.
    Let me know if it works for you.

  • Webservice error messages

    Hi All
    I am using a web service to feed my flex application with
    data. When exceptions occur in the web service, I only get some
    generic error message in my fault handler. I would like to be able
    to get information such as error messages from the web service
    exceptions propagated to my web service fault handlers in my Flex
    Application.
    My web service is .Net based/C# and it is used in my Flex app
    by importing the WSDL file of the service.
    Here is an example with some code snippets:
    The web service has a HelloWorld webmethod which throws an
    exception. This webservice is imported into my flex app using the
    Data->Import Webservice feature, which autogenerates the
    webserivce class I am using. When I call the webservice from Flex,
    the fault handler is called but it only contains some generic error
    message.
    Code snippets: The C# webservice method which throws an
    exception:
    [WebMethod]
    public string HelloWorld()
    throw new Exception("Hello World Exception.");
    return "Hello World";
    And here is how I call the webservice in my FIex App:
    private function btnTestWebserviceClicked(event:Event):void
    var service:WebService = new WebService();
    service.addWebServiceFaultEventListener(faultHandler);
    service.addhelloWorldEventListener(webMethodDone);
    service.helloWorld();
    function webMethodDone(event:HelloWorldResultEvent):void
    Alert.show("Done", "Done");
    function faultHandler(event:FaultEvent):void
    Alert.show(event.fault.faultString, "Error");
    The information I can get from the faultEvent passed to the
    fault handler does not contain the error string but only the
    generic "HTTP request error" error message, and not the
    “Hello World Error String” which was passed to the
    exception thrown in the webservice.
    So my question is: How can I get information from web service
    exceptions propagated to my fault handlers in Flex?
    Any help, advice or pointers to articles will be much
    appreciated.
    Best regards Stig Nielsson

    Hi Stig,
    The root cause of the problem is that the body of the 500
    status code isn't returned to the flash player from the browsers.
    This prevents the Flash Player from passing it along to you. Keep
    in mind that the FlashPlayer is just a control that runs within the
    browser; as a result it's restricted by what the browser provides
    to it. The body of a 500 error message isn't one of the things
    provided to it.
    The Flash Player needs to play to the least common
    denominator and while some browsers do provide the web service's
    500 error body the Flash Player requires ubiquity. This is why the
    feature isn't implemented within the Flash Player... when all
    browsers provide this data then Adobe needs to add the feature.
    Adobe has logged a bug on these issues with the browser companies.
    To workaround the issue use LCDS or BlazeDS as proxies. They
    have been coded to return a 200 status response instead of the 500
    error allowing you to access the error message. Adobe has been
    aware of this issue and this is the suggested resolution to the
    problem. It's not ideal but it's the best we currently have
    available.
    Here's a great article that talks about this:

  • Had to uninstall Firefox, now I can't reinstall. Get error message "Can not find archive file." Please help!

    I believe I had some kind of virus attack. I got everything cleaned up. (I HOPE) In the process of cleaning the virus, I unintalled Firefox because it wouldn't open. Kept getting the error message that Firefox was already open and I had to close out of the sessions or restart the computer. After restarting the computer several times and not being able to find any open sessions in task manager, I uninstalled. When trying to reinstall, I get the error message "can not find archive file." I've tried downloading Firefox from cnet as well as the Mozilla site to no avail. Please help. I'm getting tired of using Chrome already!

    Hello,
    Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
    '''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
    #Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
    #After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
    #Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    #*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    #*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
    #Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    ##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    ##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

  • Error 7: File not found occurs in 8.2 from transition of 4.1. Specifying the file in file dialog returns error although file is in the directory.

    Copied a program from 4.1 to 8.2 recently and receive an error 7: File not found at open file+.vi.  The program is built so a file dialog will pop up and ask for the destination of the file.  Eventhough there is a file in the specified directory, an error is returned.  Running open file+.vi by itself returns no error with the same file designation.  Any clues?

    noviceak,
    Welcome to the NI Discussion Forums.
    I created a quick VI in LabVIEW 4.1 that displays a file dialog and then passes that file path to "Read Characters from File.vi" (which in turn calls Open File+.vi).  I then opened this file in LabVIEW 8.2 and ran it successfully (see code screenshot below).
    When you say there is a file in the specified directory are you using the file dialog to browse to the directory or to select the specific file?  Open File+.vi expects the path to a file rather than a directory - that is C:\folder\file.txt rather than C:\folder.  You might also want to create an indicator or probe to see what path is being passed to Open File+ to ensure it is what you expect.
    I feel like I should also say that in the days (years) inbetween LabVIEW 4.1 and 8.2 the file operation VIs have changed significantly.  While the old Open File+.vi still lives in vi.lib for compatibility purposes we no longer recommend using it for new applications.
    I hope this helps and again, welcome to the community.

  • Slow browsing, not a DNS issue

    Hi
    I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro 13" and browsing on my home network is ridiculously slow (5 mins to load a page, if at all). I've tried all the fixes related to DNS and have changed to OpenDNS and Google and back again to no avail. Both my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 work smoothly and with lightning speed on the same wifi connection (Australian National Broadband Network, speeds c. 25mbps).
    Neither Apple Diagnostics nor the "Assist me..." diagnostic available in Network preferences yield any data on potential problems, indicating that everything is working as it should be.
    Any ideas??
    cheers,
    A

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
    The test works on OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. I don't recommend running it on older versions of OS X. It will do no harm, but it won't do much good either.
    Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
    There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
    You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
    In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
    You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message. See, for example, this discussion.
    Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
    ☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
    ☞ Paste into the window of another application.
    ☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
    ☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
    The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. Try to test under conditions that reproduce the problem, as far as possible. For example, if the computer is sometimes, but not always, slow, run the test during a slowdown.
    You may have started up in "safe" mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
    and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
    If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, a series of lines will appear in the Terminal window like this:
    [Process started]
            Part 1 of 8 done at … sec
            Part 8 of 8 done at … sec
            The test results are on the Clipboard.
            Please close this window.
    [Process completed]
    The intervals between parts won't be exactly equal, but they give a rough indication of progress. The total number of parts may be different from what's shown here.
    Wait for the final message "Process completed" to appear. If you don't see it within about ten minutes, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, press the key combination control-C or command-period to stop it and go to the next step. You'll have incomplete results, but still something.
    12. When the test is complete, or if you stopped it because it was taking too long, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
    At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
    If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak for themselves, not for me. The test itself is harmless, but whatever else you're told to do may not be. For others who choose to run it, I don't recommend that you post the test results on this website unless I asked you to.

  • Error: URI is not hierarchical while invoking external WS

    I have a business process, wherein I am invoking an external Java WebService using Invoke->PartnerLink
    During compilation, i am getting error : URI is not hierarchical
    If I remove the above call, there is no compilation error.
    I have checked all the paths and project name for errornous whitespaces which lead to the above error. I am using 10g.
    What could be the reason of the error?

    Update
    I just started with a fresh instance of JDeveloper (unzipped the JDeveloper pack at another location). And now the problem is gone.
    So I think there was some problem with my JDeveloper compiler.
