Webservices in Reports

Dear Sir,
I created a jar file for a wsdl url and then did import java class file, placed the jar file in the classpath and also set the pat of the jar file in the forms/server/default.env file.
In the forms the when i call the Stored proc of the webservice, it works fine but the same thing doesnt work in the reports.
Please let me know what configuration should i do form reports.
Thnx,
Subhash

You have to set the classpath-property in the .conf-file of your report-server.

  • Help Using a webservice to report back very large data

    Hi All,
    I am in the process of creating a web service to report back lots of data according to some input params, I am using axis2 to test the soap message.
    Now the problem, the webservice will be collection data from the live database which is attached to a web application. It has high usage and I don't want to affect there service.
    Do you think it will affect there service and we would be better to report against a backup database or something?
    Also a client can request data on a certain user just a plain string ID in the wsdl file (data returned will be very large user history), now I was thinking would it be best to keep this as a single users input or create a array of stings with a max length (set in a xsd property)?
    My idea was it might be better that someone just implements another client with single ID and get data for each users, therefore the request could be called
    Customer * number of users
    Or they array XSD will allow them to report on say 10 at a time?

    Hi Steve
    It seems like you have alot of different versions of Crystal Reports and Business Objects products and you are getting them mixed up a bit. It can be confusing.
    So basically you want to access Crystal reports via the BO SDK and you want the reports to connect to web services.
    1. Creating the Report
    Since you have BOE XI R2 my guess is that you have a copy of Crystal Reports XI R2 or R1.
    Create the report with XI because it comes with a special XML Web Services data source driver. My guess is that you already have the web service created.
    2. Publish the report to BOE XI.
    Using the report designer publish the report to BOE (Save As).
    3. Write code to view the report.
    If you need to change the datasource at runtime then you will want to use the Report Application Server (RAS) SDK to do that. If you are only changing the data source to move from Dev/QA/Production then you may not want to do this task at runtime. In the CMC you should be able to change the data source for migration purposes.If you truely need to do it at runtime then you want to do RAS.
    Here's a sample to get you started.

  • Accessing webservice in report

    Hi ,
    Iam trying to generate a report in which I get some data from a webservice. The report works fine and I get the data when I run it from report builder, but when I run the same report from a browser it doesnt work. Here if I remove the webservice part from the report the report works in the browser too.
    Can anyone help me with this .
    Thanks
    Brijesh

    Hi Brijesh,
    Are you following this tech note about using the Web services as a data source:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/pluginxchange/plugins/datasource/webservicePDS/readme.html
    There are separate steps for running it from Builder and from the Server. Make sure you are following the complete steps for the server. Also, if you are contacting Web Services located outside your local network and have a firewall in place, you have to set up the proxyinfo.xml config file (details in the tech note).
    If you have already followed these steps, pl let us know what error you are getting on running your report from the browser.

  • How to Call Webservices in ABAP(Syntax) created in abap ,java etc

    All Champs,
       Can some one explain me(programatically) that how to access webservices in following cases.
    case 1: A webservice created in ABAP (FM,BAPI,FUNCTION GROUP) by using wizard . How to call this webservice in report or in any bsp or webdynpro application.
    case 2: A webservice created in JAVA,.NET  or in any third party technology , how to use in abap(by considering that endpoint has been created for third party webservice)
    points will be rewarded .
    regards

    Hi,
    case 1: for WDP, you can create the web service model via "Import Adaptive Web Service" or "Import Web Service Model (deprecated)" by supplying wsdl URL.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/wdjava/faq%2b-%2bmodels%2b-%2badaptive%2bweb%2bservice
    case 2: In ABAP, create a proxy object at trx code SE80.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/bf/d005244e9d1d4d92b2fe7935556b4c/frameset.htm
    Both cases are wizard-based. It's pretty intuitive.

  • HTTPS webservice in APEX 4.1.1 on 11gXE database

    Hi,
    I was trying to integrate APEX 4.1 with Service-Now ticketing tool. Most of the clients use Service-Now or Remedy for their incident management. Service-Now has exposed the incident details with https://demo.service-now.com/incident.do?WSDL. Use 'admin' as user id and 'admin' as password. We can use this WSDL to create webservice reference and then create a form and report using that webservice reference. But when I was trying to create the webservice it is throwing that generic error Create Web Service Reference 'The URL provided did not return a valid WSDL or wallet needs to be configured for HTTPS requests.
    Following are my details
    APEX Version 4.1
    Database 11gXE
    Webtier : Oracle HTTP server 10g
    Has anyone configured XE for outgoing HTTPS requests.? Could you please help?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Dietmar,
    Thanks for the information. I am a great fan of yours. I bought your book Expert Oracle Application Express and got many ideas. I learnt a lot from that. I am still learning.
    Could you please help me in resolving the issue I am facing now.
    Below are the details.
    I created a Webservice Reference Manually and tested it from there it showed me the response message. But when I created a form and Report using that webservice reference it did not show me the output.
    What I did are the following
    1) Created Webservice reference manually and specify the END Point URL and action based on the WSDL
    2) Specified the SOAP envelope
    4) Specified the collection name for storing the output message
    4) From Application Builder clicked on Create Page
    5) Selected Form and then selected Form and Report based on Webservice
    6) Selected Webservice name and operation from the drop down
    7) Included the input parameters
    8) Selected SOAP Style as Document and Message Format as Literal
    9) Specified the xpath for the result node
    10) Specified the namesapce for the output message
    11) Specified the output element to display in my report
    12) Ran the Page
    13) Specified the input parameter and user name password for authentication(webservice)
    The Report did not show any output.
    The wsdl is [Service-Now Incident Integration|https://demo08.service-now.com/incident.do?WSDL] . I created the webservice based on this WSDL.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Mehabub

    It is better to create a proxy, it then puts a level of abstraction between in that coding. All you need to do is then access the proxy class.
    Besides that i think you can do it by configuring the ITS and calling the webservice by means of using BSP applications in ABAP
    <b>I believe you need to create a proxy in order to consume your web service.

  • Connect a simple WebService fails

    Hello Experts,
    System:
    ECC6.0 with
    -SAP_ABA 700 SP 16
    -SAP_BASIS 700 SP 16
    I created a very simple functionmodule with one import parameter and 3 export parameters. The import parameter doesn't have any further function and the export par. are set with constant values.
    FUNCTION zmm_ws_materialklass_mermale .
    *"  IMPORTING
    *"     VALUE(FANUMMER) TYPE  BAPI_ORDER_KEY-ORDER_NUMBER
    *"  EXPORTING
    *"     VALUE(ZEICHNDATENBLNR) TYPE  DZEINR
    *"     VALUE(ZEICHNIDX) TYPE  DZEIVR
    *"     VALUE(DATENBLIDX) TYPE  AESZN
        zeichndatenblnr = '613582'.
        zeichnidx       = '00'.
        datenblidx      = '01'.
    ENDFUNCTION.
    Then I created the Webservice via transaction SOAMANAGER, exactly like it is demonstrated [here|http://enterprisegeeks.com/blog/2009/02/18/abap-freak-show-february-18-2009/].

    The user who connects to the webservice has SAP_ALL profile and all the SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE* roles.
    So maybe I have to test one step before, without the soapui tool, but what does the [documentation|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/39b5df39591a53e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm] for SOAMANAGER mean with point 7? Where do I have to specify the parameters?
    regards,
    Steffen

    I reread all the help documents by SAP but with no success.
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1043195
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1135610
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1163844
    Also the asych. Webservices with report SRT_ADMIN is configured correctly (SRT_ADMIN_CHECK looks fine now), but still no success.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/46/4420e292b75e3fe10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
    I also tried an standard BAPI function module, and produced a web service out of it. But with the same 400 error in soapUI tool.
    What could I check next?
    EDIT: this workaround works for me, but it's not the way I want to go...

  • Web Services as Background Callable Objects?

    Hi everybody,
    is it possible to use an Web Service as an Background Callable Object? And if it is possible, how can I do it?
    For your background: If the Web Service throws an Exception, I want to handle it. My goal: The next step after finalizing the exception handler action will be the
    action (WebService) that reported the exception. Or is there any other possibility?
    Thanks,
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
    For repeating the WS Call after the exception handler, you can use the "repeat" strategy. When defining the exception handler, you can choose between "continue" and "repeat".
    Check this page : <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/10a066e3650d19e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm">Exception Handling in GP</a>
    For using Web Service as Callable Object, check this out! <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/4758351fcb1193e10000000a155369/frameset.htm">WS in GP</a>
    When specifying repeat, the action will be started again. If continue, the next action will be processed.
    Hope this helps,
    Best regards,
    David

  • Error in Full and Delta CPACache refresh.

    Hi Experts,
    In our production environent we have a SOAP -> XI - > PROXY scenario [Synchronous].
    The Consumer of the WebService has reported an error:

    When I checked there are no messages in SXMB_MONI , but when I checked the Cache Refresh History I found that
    there was error in both Full and Delta Cache Refresh. But the restart of the XI(Production) server resolved the issue.

  • Form & Report on a Webservice

    Hi,
    When I try to build a Form & Report on a web service(XDB web service), it won't allow me to build it by throwing an error message.
    The error message is ORA-20001: Unable to create form on table. ORA-20001: Query must begin with SELECT or WITH
    The webservice reference is a manually created simple soap envelope.
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:oraw="http://xmlns.oracle.com/orawsv" xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
       <soapenv:Header>
        </soapenv:Header>
       <soapenv:Body>
          <oraw:query>
             <oraw:query_text type="SQL">SELECT * FROM ORDERS</oraw:query_text>
          </oraw:query>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>The form contains the input items needed for basic authentication. If I check the same soap envelope with SoapUI, or test the webservice reference in APEX it returns the result set with no issues.
    What could be the cause with apex form & report on webservice
    The Apex version is 4.0.0.00.46

    Hi,
    Yes I can build a webservice reference from the wsdl. But then it will recognize all other input attributes except for the crucial attribute <oraw:query_text type=""></oraw:query_text> . That's why I tend to create the soap envelope manually.
    Thanks

  • Getting error while creating form and report on webservice: ORA-20001: Unable to create form on table. ORA-02263: need to specify the datatype for this column.

    i am using the following description to create a web service reference:
    web reference :REST
    Name :Yahoo Map
    URL :http://local.yahooapis.com/MapsService/V1/mapImage
    HTTP Method: GET
    Basic Authentication: No
    Add Parameter:
    Name       Type
    appid        String
    location    String
    Output Format: XML
    XPath to Output Parameters : /Result
    Output Parameter:
    Name       Path       Type
    Url          /text()      String
    Then i tried to create form and report on webservice:
    Web Service Reference Type: Yahoo Map
    Operation: doREST
    All the fields i keep as default
    I tick the checkbox (url)in report Parameter
    After clicking next whereever required i click create button
    I get the following error
    ORA-20001: Unable to create form on table. ORA-02263: need to specify the datatype for this column.
    Please someone help to solve this as i need to fix it urgently.

    i exported the application from apex.oracle.com and imported it to our environment
    import went fine, but when I ran the IR page I got
    ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00904: : invalid identifier
    evidently the problem is a lack of public execute on DBMS_LOB, which is used in the generated IR source.
    while waiting for the DBA to grant privs on DBMS_LOB, changing the dbms_lob.getlength call to length() fixes the IR.
    however, i am not getting the download link on the associated form page... changed templates, that's not the issue -- we'll see if that's a dbms_lob issue as well

    Looks like there is a 127-column limit on the number of report columns supported when using that wizard. Do you have more than that?

    Hi!
    Thanks for the help:
    - I give all proxy details. In HTTP and HTTPS proxy tabs too.
    one interesting thing:
    - We publicate the same WebService with HTTP and HTTPS prefix.
    - If I create a proxy for the WS with HTTP, everything is correct and works well.
    - If I create a proxy for the WS with HTTPS, gives the error written the previous posts. (And can't create the logical port with SOAMANAGER)
    I compare the 2 WSDL. It is the same, except the links. (HTTP and HTTPS) all others are same.
    - And why it is possible in both case (HTTP, HTTPS) to create the proxy with SE80 from the WSDL URL? (And after the logical port was failed)
