Accessing webservice in report
Hi ,
Iam trying to generate a report in which I get some data from a webservice. The report works fine and I get the data when I run it from report builder, but when I run the same report from a browser it doesnt work. Here if I remove the webservice part from the report the report works in the browser too.
Can anyone help me with this .
Thanks
Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
Are you following this tech note about using the Web services as a data source:
http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/pluginxchange/plugins/datasource/webservicePDS/readme.html
There are separate steps for running it from Builder and from the Server. Make sure you are following the complete steps for the server. Also, if you are contacting Web Services located outside your local network and have a firewall in place, you have to set up the proxyinfo.xml config file (details in the tech note).
If you have already followed these steps, pl let us know what error you are getting on running your report from the browser.
Navneet.

Problem in accessing webservice over https with auth cert enabled...Urgent
Hi All,
I am stuck in accessing webservices using ssl and auth certificate.
I am using jdk 6 and it is not any issue with the problem I am facing...
This is what I do...
I have a webservice deployed which is accessible over https.
On server, I run..
- to generate keystoye
keytool -genkey -alias tomcat-sv -dname "CN=<Server Machine Id>, OU=X, O=Y, L=Z, S=XY, C=YZ" -keyalg RSA -keypass changeit -storepass changeit -keystore server.keystore
generate server certificate
keytool -export -alias tomcat-sv -storepass changeit -file server.cer -keystore server.keystore
On client, i run..
To generate client keystore-
keytool -genkey -alias tomcat-cl -dname "CN=<Client Machine Id>, OU=X, O=Y, L=Z, S=XY, C=YZ" -keyalg RSA -keypass changeit -storepass changeit -keystore client.keystore
To generate client certificate -
keytool -export -alias tomcat-cl -storepass changeit -file client.cer -keystore client.keystore
Thne I import server's certificate into client keystore and Client's certificate to server's keystore by
import server's cer to client keystore -
keytool -import -v -trustcacerts -alias tomcat -file "C:\java\jdk1.6.0_10\bin\server.cer" -keystore client.keystore -keypass changeit -storepass changeit
inport client's cer to server keystore -
keytool -import -v -trustcacerts -alias tomcat -file "C:\jdk1.6.0_06\bin\client.cer" -keystore server.keystore -keypass changeit -storepass changeit
when i try to call webservices through a java client (which is called by a python script), I get error as
*"Exception while waiting for close java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed"*
*"faultString: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed"*
complete log is as following
C:\apache-tomcat-6.0.10\webapps\webservice>tradereport.py

//System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", "C:\\java\\jdk1.6.0_10\\jre\\lib\\security\\cacerts");
//System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", "changeit");

I tried all possible combinbations of these properties but nothing worked...
Please let me know if I am missing any required step.. here
Ask me if you want to know more details about my problem.
This is very urgent and critical.. Many thanks in advance.Hi ejp,
thanks for your reply. I did read your post in other thread that you pointed.
I had searched quite a lot on this issue and had idea that it might be due to firewall settings..
but sadly, I don't know the solution. Well, you have seen the entire code that I wrote and exception too, Could you suggest me a way out? or any specific firewall setting or a workaround?
Please let me know if you need any other info from my side regarding the code.
Thanks a Ton!

InvalidSecurity Error while accessing Webservice
Hi,
I am getting an "*InvalidSecurity*" error while accessing webservice.
Below is the error, which I got while invoking the webservice :
<env:Envelope
xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<env:Header/>
<env:Body>
<env:Fault
xmlns:ns0="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd">
<faultcode>ns0:InvalidSecurity</faultcode>
<faultstring>InvalidSecurity : error in processing the WS-Security security header</faultstring>
<faultactor/>
</env:Fault>
</env:Body>
</env:Envelope>
Thanks
Abheek
Edited by: 1005832 on May 14, 2013 6:16 AMThe error was generated on the endpoint and indicates that the SOAP request message had incorrect WS-Security information in its headers. The SOAP response message you included doesn't contain specific information about what is wrong (we wouldn't want to reveal too much to hackers, of course!).
Without seeing the SOAP request message and the WS-SecurityPolicy that the endpoint requires, it's impossible to tell what's wrong.
Other important information:
- what version of WLS are you running?
- is the endpoint a WLS JAX-WS or a WLS JAX-RPC web service?
- is WS-Security configured using native WLS WS-Security (e.g. @Policy) or using OWSM WS-Security (i.e. @SecurityPolicy)?
- what specific policy is being used to enforce security at the endpoint (the advertised WSDL for the endpoint should contain this) -

I know that reports will not have that same error when you step into the central admin but I dont have control of the iis or central admin, any feedback would be great thanks.ok Update since I had a local server I ended up using my server for the reports since they are linked inside access it dint bother the program I had built only, trouble is now I have two separate access databases not sure if I can clone that information
from the cloud and double it as a back up server on the local edition. otherwise the reports will be outdated.

Access to the reports folder using ftp
Hello,
I'd like to access to the reports folder on the NCS using a ftp software (filezilla ftp client 3.3.3). This folder is located at '
/localdisk/ftp/reports/' on the virtual machine. I also created a ftp user using the command line with 'ncs password ftpuser ftpncs password *******'.
But the remote connection still doesn't work. Here is what I have on the log output of my ftp software:
Server: 220 Service ready for new user
Command: USER ftpncs
Answer: 331 User name okay, need password for ftpncs
Command; PASS ******
Answer: 530 Access Denied
Error: Critical error cannot connect to the server
Maybe I'm incorrect somewhere in my configuration. Does someone have an idea?
Many thanks for your help
TheophileMaybe you´re hitting this Bug:
CSCtw98787
The ncs password ftpuser CLI command should enforce ftp-user parameter
Symptom: The ncs password ftpuser command allows the username input to be anything and will accept that input without error:
snx1-ncs-1/opsadmin# ncs password ftpuser testacct password Hello123 Initializing... Updating FTP password. This may take a few minutes... Successfully updated location ftp user But then attempt to login with that information, you get this: ftp snx1-ncs-1 Connected to snx1-ncs-1.cisco.com. 220 Service ready for new user User (snx1-ncs-1.cisco.com:(none)): testacct 331 User name okay, need password for testacct Password: 530 Access denied Connection closed by remote host.
Conditions: ncs cli command, seen in versions 1.0.1.4, 1.0.2.28 and 1.0.2.29
Workaround: Must use the ncs passowrd ftpuser ftp-user password syntax to update the ftp-user account. While other input for username is allowed, it has no effect. -
How to find which user has access to Discoverer Reports?
I need to find users having access to Discovered reports using a script. How can I do that?
Hi,
You need to give more details...
Are you using oracle applications? are the users database users?
If you use oracle application you can use the following:
SELECT DISTINCT Disco_Docs.Doc_Name "Discoverer Workbook"
,Trunc(Disco_Docs.Doc_Created_Date) "Workbook Create Date"
,CASE
WHEN Instr(Disco_Docs.Doc_Created_By
,'#') = 0 THEN
Disco_Docs.Doc_Created_By
WHEN Instr(Disco_Docs.Doc_Created_By
,'#') > 0
AND Instr(Disco_Docs.Doc_Created_By
,2) = 0 THEN
(SELECT Fu.User_Name
FROM Fnd_User Fu
WHERE Fu.User_Id = Substr(Disco_Docs.Doc_Created_By
,2
,5))
ELSE
NULL
END "Workbook Owner/Creator"
,Disco_Users.Eu_Username
,CASE
WHEN Instr(Disco_Users.Eu_Username
,'#') = 0 THEN
Disco_Users.Eu_Username
WHEN Instr(Disco_Users.Eu_Username
,'#') > 0
AND Instr(Disco_Users.Eu_Username
,2) = 0 THEN
(SELECT Fu.User_Name
FROM Fnd_User Fu
WHERE Fu.User_Id = Substr(Disco_Users.Eu_Username
,2
,5))
ELSE
(SELECT Resp.Responsibility_Name
FROM Fnd_Responsibility_Tl Resp
WHERE Resp.Responsibility_Id =
Substr(Disco_Users.Eu_Username
,2
,5))
END AS "Shared Name / Responsibility"
FROM Eul_Us.Eul5_Documents Disco_Docs
,Eul_Us.Eul5_Access_Privs Disco_Shares
,Eul_Us.Eul5_Eul_Users Disco_Users
WHERE Disco_Docs.Doc_Id = Disco_Shares.Gd_Doc_Id(+) AND
Disco_Users.Eu_Username(+) NOT IN ('EUL5', 'PUBLIC') AND
Disco_Users.Eu_Id(+) = Disco_Shares.Ap_Eu_Id

Simultaneous Access to one report
Hello Everybody,
How many simultaneous access of different DB can one report have?
For example, how many users can access the same report at the same time?
the edition of CR is 2008.Not much info to go on so I am assuming you Everyone has a local copy of Crystal Reports Designer installed and the reports are all stored on a local Server.
There should not be a lock on the report, Each designer should open the report as a Temp copy, but they won't be able to save the report back to the shared folder.
As for DB connections, each user has his own connection to the server. DB Client and DSN or how ever you are connecting must be installed on each users PC. If you are using more than one Data Source then use a subreport for each database server.
Thank you

Dear all
I need to implement the following scenario. I have given the option that a function can be call as web service. At this point every thing is ok. In the client side they have an application in .NET, to link this to they have installed a Client Certificate in the IE Browser to authenticated in our system (Apache server). When they executed URL in the Browser every the connection is OK. When they executed the .NET applications the following error appears :
ERRO:The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS.
System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS. ---> System.TypeInitializationException:
The type initializer for "System.Net.SecureChannel" threw an exception. ---> System.EntryPointNotFoundException: ? at System.Net.NativeNTSSPI.EnumerateSecurityPackagesW(Int32& pkgnum, IntPtr& arrayptr) at System.Net.SSPISecureChannelType.EnumerateSecurityPackages(Int32& pkgnum, IntPtr& arrayptr) at System.Net.SSPIWrapper.EnumerateSecurityPackages(SSPIInterface SecModule) at System.Net.SSPIWrapper.GetSupportedSecurityPackages(SSPIInterface SecModule) at System.Net.SecureChannel..cctor() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Net.SecureChannel..ctor(String hostname, X509CertificateCollection clientCertificates) at System.Net.TlsStream.Handshake(ProtocolToken message) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.CheckFinalStatus() at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.EndGetResponse(IAsyncResult asyncResult) at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at testetmn.Teste.btnConnect_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in e:\develop\toupeira\testconnectivity\teste.aspx.cs:line 67
They have tried to call the certificate in a file and the same error appears.
Thus any one has a solution for this scenario?
I'm going to explain better my question. Yes we are calling a Webservice from a .net application. But in the middle we have a Apache server that required autentication, and for this reason the certificate must be on the Side off the .NET application.
We have install the client Certificate on the IE browser. If we call the URL off the webservice from the browser every the connection was made. But when call the URL from the .NET application the error appears.
Best Regards

Reg accessing the webi reports from visual C#
Hi,
I m using visual studio 2005 c#.Can some one throw lights on how to access the webi reports using this environment....
Thanks & Regards
Rakul Alagu.Thank you for you reply! So there is no way to access a Crystal Reports Server from an arbitrary application using URLs out of the box? I would have to implement this "automated access" feature inside the server by myself. Is this correct?
If this is the case, I think I will do the whole report generation without a dedicated Crystal Reports Server. I have compared different alternatives for replacing the old RDC component of the C++ application described above. I think the best way would be to replace it via the JRC API of CR4E 2.0. In this case, I would have to access the Java API via JNI or by calling an external Java program, which generates and exports the reports.
In both cases (CR Server vs. JRC API) I would have to implement new application logic. But a dedicated Crystal Reports Server needs to be maintained and administered... And I think the Crystal Reports Server would be a bit oversized for my purposes (generating and exporting reports)...
If somebody has got other suggestions for replacing the RDC component (CR XI R2) inside a C++ application in order to use this application under Linux, I would be thankful . -
hi all
what r the various ways to give access to wad reports to user?
shaliniHi Shalini,
you have to create the reports as authorisation objects and then assign it to the roles provided to the User's.
Hope it helps,

Is there any way to hide a folder and provide access to the report in XIR2 while using infoview?
Hi Ganapathi,
I have resolved the issue by setting the viewobjects to not specified for that particular group for a partiuclar folder in CMC.
Now the user in not able to see folder in Infoview but able to access the report within it.

Access webservices through SSL
HI!
I want to access webservices through SSL. I could config the SOA suite to connect to (for example) Enterprise Manager Console through SSL (https://localhost:4443/em), but when I want to try to access a webservice through SSL (https://bonus4:4443/CreditService/ValidateCreditCardServiceSoapHttp?wsdl), I get the next error:
404 Not Found
Resource /j2ee/CreditService/ValidateCreditCardServiceSoapHttp not found on this server
What can I config on SOA Suite(10.1.3.1.0) to use the webservices through SSL?
Thanks You very much, it would be a big help for me!
ViktorHello,
I would invite you to read this blog entry on the subject, it is using stand alone OC4J but the idea is the same using OracleHTTP Server:
- Using HTTPS with Web Services
Could you clarify if you are using OHS or OC4J HTTP server?
