Website links in Dock

Question

I use several Web 2.0 applications (Gmail, Google Calendar, etc.) and rather than having to open Firefox or Safari to get to those applications, it'd be much easier for me to have access to them from the Dock.
Obviously, moving them to the right of the separator does not help, because their icons are identical, and I'd like if they could be grouped and arranged with my other, regular software.
Are there any applications (preferably free/open-source) or OS X tricks that can allow me to do this? Ones that would allow me to customize the Dock icons associated with the applications would do best.

To get around this restriction, simply create an AppleScript and save it as an application, not as a script.
Paste the following into a new Script Editor window, and then save it as an app. Change the icon of the app, as mentioned above for the webloc files, and drag the app to your Dock. It will be on the left side of the Dock, not the right. Create a few of these for all the sites you want to add to the Dock. Just change the URL in the script.

You could also use Automator in Tiger to do the same thing, and then save it as an app, but I like AppleScript.
