Webtogo with Apache Server
Hi,
I've already installed Oracle Webtogo Server on my machine with Apache server.
My webtogo server runs on 80 port and Apache server on 90 port.
I would like configuring the webtogo module on the Apache server.
I've put the following line in apache's httpd.conf's file:
LoadModule WTG_Module
OracleHome\webtogo\bin\wtgapach.dll
<Location /webtogo>
SetHandler web-to-go
</Location>
I've stopped the server and reloaded, but i've gotten this error:
Loaded DSO <dll's path> use plain Apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI, please recompile it with -DEAPI.
I don't understand the meaning of RECOMPILE WITH -DEAPI.
Best regards,
Simone

Hi Guys,
I didnt check this from past one month, thanks all for your replies
I found solution for this in metalink
i.e.
in context file
<directory_index oa_var="s_directory_index">index.jsp index.html</directory_index>
change this to
<directory_index oa_var="s_directory_index">index.html</directory_index>
and run autoconfig
and restart apache server
Thanks,

Issues in ssl configuration with apache server (using reverse proxy)
Hi,
I am able to use apache server as a reverse proxy to connect to Portal. When I enter the web server url as https://mywebserver.com, I am able to connect to the http url of the Portal. But the moment I try to connect to the https url of Portal with this https url, I am not able to connect to the Portal. Thus I am not able to use apache as a proxy server for https connections it makes. What must I do. I read that mod_proxy_connect needs to be used, but how do I use this?
The second problem is that I need to use more than one kind of mapping.
For example I must be redirected to the Portal even if I use http://webserver.com , or even if I use https://webserver.com or even if I use http://webserver.com/irj or https://webserver.com/irj or http://ipaddress-websserver/irj etcI have SSLCertificateFile and
and SSLCertificateKeyFile .
My problem is with regard to ssl/CertificateChainFile?
what is this? Also how do I upload my J2EE Certificate into apache.
The problem is with Apache handshake is not happening.
I am forwarding the entire log during . I have put what I consider important in bold.Please have a look.

Hi,
I am quite new to JWS. I followed the instructions to set up the jar file and the jnlp file. Using j2sdk 1.4.1 with W2K. I am able to start my demo application when it is on my C drive. When I tried it with Apache server and I click on the URL location I can see the contents of the jnlp file. I looked at the following site
http://www.vamphq.com/jwsfaq.html#apachemime
but it still does not seem to work. I added jnlp.htaccess file on the parent directory of Apache. I am going through the forum but I have not been able to come across a correct answer.
Please help!Are you sure the problem is on the server side? One thing to look for on the client side is if your browser has a helper registered for JNLP.
I.e. is the browser calling Java WebStart when you click on a jnlp link? For Internet Explorer and Netscape the installation of JWS as helper application is part of the installation procedure for Java 1.4. For other browsers you will need to register the helper application yourself. -

Web Policy Agent 2.1 for Apache 1.3.27 with Identity Server 6.1
Web Policy Agent 2.1 for Apache 1.3.27 with Identity Server 6.1
Does anybody has a working combination of the above ? I get a ID login page and after that I always get a access denied page. I get this exception on the agent logs:

We can ignore Invalid URL property part because its just looking for a custom url in place there. I have cookies enabled in my browser. I even turned on the prompt option. No luck yet.
Any suggestions would be of great help.
Thanks,
Sunil.From your description, since the agent installs file with a different JRE, I would suspect it has something to do with the availability of JCE provider in the first JRE. By default, WebSphere's JRE is equipped with IBM JCE provider which is what the agent uses to encrypt the necessary
information. If this provider is not configured correctly it could result in the error that you are seeing. Please check the WebSphere installation and make sure that the JRE used by it has the necessary IBM JCE provider configured. The java.security file for this should contain something like:
security.provider.1=sun.security.provider.Sun
security.provider.2=com.ibm.crypto.provider.IBMJCE
security.provider.3=com.ibm.jsse.IBMJSSEProvider
security.provider.4=com.ibm.security.cert.IBMCertPath
security.provider.5=com.ibm.crypto.pkcs11.provider.IBMPKCS11
Also, make sure that when you are installing the agent you specify the Java Home as prompted by the agent to point to the location where this JRE is installed. Typically this is under WebSphere/AppServer/java directory. HTH, Jerry -
Accessing many databases with HTML DB from a single Apache Server
Hello;
I am planning the install of 10g and HTML DB on a HPUX server with many databases running out of many Oracle Homes 9.2.0, 9.0.1 and 8.1.7. I will be upgrading a number of the existing databases to 10g and want to access them with HTML DB.
My question is how can I install HTML DB on many databases and use a single Apache Server to access them?Where would I find the DADs? a default installation of htmldb puts the modplsql DAD, "pls/htmldb", in a marvel.conf file located in $OHS_HOME/Apache/modplsql/conf/marvel.conf
What would the URLs look like? not sure what you're asking. if you're asking about how the change in DAD's would affect the URLs you're calling, though, you should consider looking over the OHS (oracle http server) doc some more before making these types of customizations.
And how would I install the HTML DB in the different databases?
Would I use the installer or scripts?the only supported way to install htmldb is via the 10g Companion CD. just use that installer to point to your different db's.

Forms 6i Server (rel 2) with Apache
I have installed Forms 6i Forms Server Rel 2 with Patch 14 on NT with a "vanilla" Apache Server 2.0.47.
In the registry I added my application's path to FORMS60_PATH.
In formsweb.cfg I added the following entry:
[SOB]
pageTitle=S.O.B.
width=1000
height=570
serverApp=/sobapp/
form=d:\sob\opening_menu.fmx
lookAndFeel=oracle
colorScheme=teal
IE50=native
In registry.dat I modified the following line:
default.icons.iconpath=/webicons/
In apache's httpd.conf I added:
Alias /webicons "d:/webicons"
Alias /webcache "d:/orant/reports60/server/cache"
Alias /dev60temp "d:/orant/tools/web60/temp"
Alias /dev60html "d:/orant/tools/web60/html"
Alias /forms60java "d:/orant/forms60/java"
Alias /forms60code "d:/orant/forms60/java"
Alias /jinitiator "d:/orant/jinit"
Alias /sobapp/ "d:/sob/"
SetEnv FORMS60_WEB_CONFIG_FILE d:\orant\forms60\server\formsweb.cfg
SetEnv ORACLE_HOME d:\orant/
SetEnv FORMS60_PATH d:\sob/
ScriptAlias /dev60cgi/ "D:/orant/tools/web60/cgi/"
When I first used the following URL: http://<server>/dev60cgi/ifcgi60.exe?config=SOB/,
I was required to install jinitiator (1.3.1.9). Upon installation of jinitiator I got the "Forms Server is sucessfully installed" window/dialog(whaterver) that has an OK button. After I press the button I get a teal sqaure on the screen and have waited for up to 5 full minutes. Nothing. So, I leave IE6 browser and try again. Exactly the same.
But, If I enter the URL:
http://<server>/dev60cgi/ifcgi60.exe?form=d:\sob\opening_menu.fmx&userid=<user/password@<tnsentry>&otherparams=useSDI=yes&lookAndFeel=oracle&colorScheme=teal,
my form opens with a BIG exception: my toolbar fails to shows up.
IF the second URL would show my toolbar I would be "happy" but not completely satisfied. Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong. The truly frustrating this is that I have set up 6i Rel 1 with the WebDB listener many times. Why not Apache? Did I miss something really simple?
I post this here since on Metalink they say Oracle does not support "3rd party" web servers (despite article 72452.1 that specifically deals with Apache?).
Has anyone sucessfully done this? Can it be done?
TIA,
Ed.Hi,
the problem with this URL "http://<server>/dev60cgi/ifcgi60.exe?config=SOB/" is the slash at its end. Try without and the formsweb.cfg file should be able to serve your application. The form you see by your approach is test.fmx that is called whenever someone calls a Forms application not specifying an appliaction module. Because "SOB/" is not a valid entry in your formsweb.cfg file, there is no Forms module which makes Forms launching its test.fmx file (its there to say that the server works, pressing ok quits the application)

Looking to pass a "root" request to a WL server with Apache plugin
Anyone know of a way to disclude a URL from the <Location> directive? I'm
using the Apache plugin and would like to pass all requests through to the
WL server except the images (which can be identified either by extension or
by location (/images)). I want a request for http://apacheserver/ to get
passed to the WL server and execute some default servlet. However... if I
use <Location /> to pass this through... everything else will get passed
through, even my image requests.
Any ideas?Thanks for the help.
Two location directives:
<Location /myApp> and
<Location /myImages>
would end up passing my images request through to WL, no?
The way I have it set up now, I have one tag:
<Location /myApp>
which (obviously) passes the /myApp/* requests to WL. This is good...
any other request such as /images/myimage.gif stays on the web server. The
only problem is that
the initial hit to the site (www.mycompany.com) does not get passed through
and
I need it to map to a servlet on the WL server, without disrupting the flow
of a
/images/* request.. I have no images on the WL server.

Have your application reside at /myApp and images in /myImages. Then two
<Location> stanzas,
one for /myApp and one for /myImages will do what you want. I have an
open case with support
where I wanted /myApp/myImages and /myApp to resolve in the order the
<Location> directives
were found in httpd.conf, in much the same way you can have / and
/images with
Apache handling /images and WLS handing / . The case is still open and
the workaround is
described in the first sentence of this paragraph :) -
Configuring HTTP Apache Server with Oracle Apex
Hi All,
I have trawled through various threads on here to see if it would help my resolve the problem i seem to be having, but to no avail :(
I have an oracle RAC db with apex installed. the RAC uses a service: apextest.com
I have an HTTP Server installed on a seperate server, I have copied the Images over so it knows what to use. Made sure the httpd.conf file is pointing to the correct images path.
As its a RAC db, i have put in the dads.conf file a 'TNSFormat' setting for the 'PlsqlDatabaseConnectString', using the TNSnames.ora entry named DEXTER which uses the apextest.com service name.
My dads.conf file:
Alias /i/ "/apex/Apache/Apache/images/"
AddType text/xml xbl
AddType text/x-component htc
<Location /pls/apex>
Order deny,allow
PlsqlDocumentPath docs
AllowOverride None
PlsqlDocumentProcedure wwv_flow_file_mgr.process_download
PlsqlDatabaseConnectString DEXTER TNSFormat
PlsqlNLSLanguage AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8
PlsqlAuthenticationMode Basic
SetHandler pls_handler
PlsqlDocumentTablename wwv_flow_file_objects$
PlsqlDatabaseUsername APEX_PUBLIC_USER
PlsqlDefaultPage apex
PlsqlDatabasePassword apex_pword
PlsqlRequestValidationFunction wwv_flow_epg_include_modules.authorize
Allow from all
</Location>My TNSnames Entry:
DEXTER =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = servername.com)(PORT = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = servername2.com)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = apextest.com)
)i can tnsping using the apex_public_user account and correct password and also sqlplus using the same account and password:
tnsping DEXTER
sqlplus apex_public_user/apex_pword@DEXTERim getting the error of:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
The error log is spitting out -
mod_plsql: /pls/apex/apex HTTP-503 ORA-12514Does anyone have any ideas? Anything i've missed out / not done ?
Note: I have used the same HTTP Apache Server to host a version of apex4 on a standalone database which is installed on the same server. So just wondered if that has anything to do with it?
thanks in advance :)Hello,
According to the error ORA-12514, there is a problem for the mod_plsql to connect to the database :
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
Cause: The listener received a request to establish a connection to a database or other service. The connect descriptor received by the listener specified a service name for a service (usually a database service) that either has not yet dynamically registered with the listener or has not been statically configured for the listener. This may be a temporary condition such as after the listener has started, but before the database instance has registered with the listener.
Action:
- Wait a moment and try to connect a second time.
- Check which services are currently known by the listener by executing: lsnrctl services <listener name>
- Check that the SERVICE_NAME parameter in the connect descriptor of the net service name used specifies a service known by the listener.
- If an easy connect naming connect identifier was used, check that the service name specified is a service known by the listener.
- Check for an event in the listener.log file.
Is the "alias" DEXTER defined in the file tnsnames.ora used by mod_plsql ?

The tab is bad with apache web server and tomcat
the tab not run with apache web server + tomcat.

Encoding issue with pages serving from Linux Apache to Firefox
Hi,
I had a problem last year where my help files displayed as a blank page with a question mark when they were served from a Linux Apache Server to Firefox. All other browsers displayed the content perfectly fine.
I discovered that the issue had something to do with encoding. From what I understood at the time: RH 8 outputs in UTF-8 but Apache prefers UTF-16 so it tries to modify the page. Net result: Firefox can't interpret the page. I apologise if my description is terrible I never fully got my head around the issue.
To cut a long story short: I was able to fix this by chaging the encoding information at the top of each page from <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> to <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16" ?>
My client has produced a new version of their software this year and for some reason my Help doesn't work again, even with modified encoding information. I am assured that the Apache web server has not changed.
Does anybody have any suggestion?
Many thanks,
AlexI think this is what I posted last year.
This is what I was
advised by the company hosting my site.
"I would therefore
conclude that the solution to this problem (on Linux systems running Apache) is
to add the AddDefaultCharset utf-8 directive to either the Apache config or the
site .htaccess file. The advantage of the latter is that it only affects individual
sites. The default Apache character set is taken from the locale file on Linux
and defaults to iso-8859-1. It is the conflict between the Apache header with
iso-8859-1 and the page character set of utf-8 that obviously causes Firefox a
problem."
In a forum post
Chrissy_Tissy added
My machine is
Windows, but this fix still worked -
some notes about making the fix visible:
1. Do the fix itself
(httpd.conf: AddDefaultCharset utf-8).
2. Restart the box
to apply the fix.
3. Once the box is
restarted, clear your cache in FireFox to make sure you don't continue to see
the cached file.
Once all this is
done you will see the output content as expected.
There is a tool to change the encoding but that does nothing more than you have already done. Maybe showing your client the above will persuade them to change things at their end.

Using OC4J with Apache Web Server
Hi,
I followed the instruction to put the following lines in apache/config/httpd.conf:
<IfModule mod_proxy.c>
ProxyRequests On
ProxyPass /servlet/ http://sundev.ultradns.net:8888/servlet/
ProxyPassReverse /servlet/ http://sundev.ultradns.net:8888/servlet/
</IfModule>
I can access my servlet as:
http://sundev.ultradns.net:8888/servlet/MyServlet
But when I tried to access through apache server as:
http://sundev.ultradns.net:80/servlet/MyServlet
I got an error:
The requested URL /servlet/MyServlet was not found on this server.
Thanks,Are you using OHS aka Apache from an Oracle9iAS install. In Oracle9iAS, there is another servlet engine Jserv configured for URI /servlet and this is causing the problem.
If you are not using JServ then you can disable Jserv by commenting out the directive for mod_jserv in your httpd.conf file and this should work fine.
