Webutil_file_transfer consuming a lot of memory and doesn't release...

I'm facing a problem with webutil_file_transfer.client_to_as_with_progress when I'm transferring many files from the client to the server. Suddenly webutil stops the transferring and webutil doesn't work until I've restarted the form.
I've noticed that the frmweb.exe process is increasing it's memory usage while traferring the files. When it reaches about 90-100mb memory in use - webutil "explodes".
It looks like webutil doesn't relase the ressources after the file has been transferred to the server.

I've found a workaround to this "bug".
Instead of calling webutil_file_transfer..... directly in the code - I open a new form with call_form, activates a timer in the when_new_form_instance trigger - which makes the call to webutil_file_transfer - and then closes the form.
Now webutil is releasing the ressources, because the form which made the webutil-call i closed after each call.

Regards,Hi. You can query v$sesstat,v$statname and can join with v$session then you will get which session consume how much memory like below query
    select
            username,
            sess.sid,
            value,
            name
    from  v$sesstat sst,
            v$statname sn,
            v$session sess
    where sst.statistic#=sn.statistic# and
    sess.sid=sst.sid and
    username is not null and
    upper(sn.name) like '%MEMORY%'
    order by username

  • Quicklook consumes a lot of memory on column view previewing large files

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, everytime I click on a large file (like a disk image, DMG, ISO) on finder's column view, it starts spinning the icon and quicklookd consumes a lot of memory even causing other apps to swap to disk. After the preview icon is done, the quicklookd memory is dealocated.
This do not happen on Lion.

Just found out that a plugin (QLStephen - http://whomwah.github.com/qlstephen/) was causing the problem.
Removed it from /Library/Quicklook, restarted quicklook (qlmanage -r) and the problem is gone.

  • Npviewer.bin (on linux) eats lots of CPU and doesn't even close when firefox is closed.

npviewer.bin (on linux) eats lots of CPU and doesn't even close when firefox is closed.

I've begun having this problem as well. Reviewing the above, I seen no errors that I' making. A few weeks ago, without being aware of an update to Firefox, it began behaving differently than it has for years. I've always had it set to open to an empty tab, now it often opens to the 'Firefox Home Page' (which I've never used)... this despite resetting my opening page to "Show my windows and tabs from last time" (upon troubleshooting the 'home page issue' I found that the opening page had reset to FF Home somehow. I store a lot of pages in tab groups and having them disappear is a major bummer since they're news articles I'm waiting to copy.
Also... I run CCleaner weekly and I know that will erase the group tabs I've stored so before running it I have to store those URL's another way. Does anyone know what I can uncheck in CCleaner to keep those tabs?
    Thanks.

  • A process named "update.exe *32" and description is "Firefox" keeps using a lot of memory and cpu; the longer forefox is on, the worse it gets. How to prevent?

    using Windows 7, firefox 15.0.1
This process uses more and more memory and CPU, sometimes there are several of these processes running. If I kill these processes, it doesn't seem to affect the utilization of Firefox. Then the process slowly starts to use more and more memory and CPU all over again.
This happens all the time, every time I use Firefox.

I do not have a ComObjects folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files. That is not part of Firefox.
wscript.exe is a utility included with Windows to run scripts at the system level. It generally is not used by major programs. If update.exe is starting up with Windows, you may be able to find the script that wscript.exe is running using [http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx Autoruns].
It definitely sounds viral. I suggest deleting the update.exe file, although Windows might prevent you from doing that until you kill all related processes. And if you have a persistent infection, the file may be restored or re-downloaded.
It might be easiest to seek assistance from a forum more dedicated to malware cleanups such as the following:

  • SQL Developer consumes a lot of memory

Sql developer consumes a lot of RAM (around 100 MB) few minutes after start of application . any tips to reduce this?

This is usually due to the caching of database objects on support of code insight and is dependent on the number of objects in the database. As documented in the readme.txt in the sqldeveloper home directory, you can disable code insight.
    2.1  To disable Code Insight
Run SQL Developer from a command line using the following statement:
       Windows : sqldeveloper -J-Dsdev.insight=false
Linux or Mac: Run sh sqldeveloper -J-Dsdev.insight=false
or edit sqldeveloper.conf and add "AddVMOption -J-Dsdev.insight=false"

  • Why is firefox 7b using a lot more memory and cpu on my computer?

I'm trying firefox 7 beta in a debian squeeze box. It is using a lot of RAM and CPU compared to previous releases of firefox(I've tried disabling all plugins and add-ons, not a big improvement). In the follow link here is a summary from about:memory, websites tabs opened at that time and the usage of % mem and cpu of my system: http://pastebin.com/8ji1gmLk
I'm using firefox on all my computers for a while now. So changing the browser is not an option for me now.
It did crash few times when loading a lot of tabs. Please let me know if there is another information that would be useful for fixing this. Thanks

Is it using a significant amount more resources than 6.0 did?
I noticed 6.0 is a VAST resource hog over 5.0 and earlier. It's a very bad flaw in the new version, and has a lot of people upset.
What has me curious is whether this is a new resource problem or whether it was present in 6.0 and you are just not noticing it.
One suggestion: Don't run BETA versions of ANY software on "all your machines". Not when rolling back the version is not an option. That's generally a bad idea, since beta versions are likely to have bugs.
With FF, now, I would never let it automatically update. I don't trust their new update policies, so I would suggest you turn "auto updates" to OFF, and do it manually, only after you hear the new release is stable, which we know 6.0 is NOT.

  • Bridge CS5 using lots of memory and give out-of-memory errors

    Hi,
I'm using Bridge CS5 with the latest updates on Vista 32bit 4GB RAM on quad core machine.
Bridge memory seems to keep raising during the usage, browsing a new folder seems to raise it a bit and previewing files raise it alot, mainly when I preview a large 18MP files.  (Bridge seems to not freeing the memory and re-use it...  leaking(?) )
Very quickly the Bridge RAM usage is reaching about 1GB and at this point Bridge gives warnings that it can't generate 100% previews.
When I restart Bridge, it works fine for a while until the memory start raising again.
(It takes about 5-6 100% previews of 18MP files to reach that RAM usage - so the problem occurs rather quickly)
I've tried limiting the cache in the preferences and disable caching of 100% previews -- didn't help.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    I've tried
a larger page file - no change.
(I doubt it will help as 32bit OS can't accessthat much memory anyways)
I'm not sure why you think it's a HD/page file problem?  like I said, I don't have a speed problem of an issue with files not being cached.
My problem is that Bridge memory usage keep growing without any reason I can see - and at some point Bridge stops functioning correctly cause of it.
I deleted all my cache, and browsed a folder with under 1000 files, and after previewing about 5-6 files in 100% - bridge memory usage was close to 1GB.
currently my cache is set to 10000 files and not caching 100% previews.
Where did you find other peoping reporting on such a problem?  I mostly find people reporting out-of-storag errors and crashes -- I have neither of those.
    Thanks!

  • After upgrading to OS X Mavericks syslogd needs lot of memory and cpu, system is very slow

After upgrading to OS X Mavericks the system is very slow. securityd and syslogd are using 50% of cpu and memory is also used by syslogd and kerneltask (8 GB out of 12). After rebooting the system it runs very well, a view days later (without reboot, only hibernating) the situation is the same.
Looks like a problem in OS X. Any solutions?

I haven't worked out the LDAP messages but I noticed at other times I was seeing lots of album art messages from BlackBerry desktop. I'd already uninstalled the app but it still had processes running. I followed this link to remove completely; http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/57023/how-to-uninstall-completely-black berry-device-manager
CPU levels have been noticeably lower ever since.

  • Why does out slapd process consume a lot of memory (1.1 GB)?

Our LDAP installation (4.1) on Solaris 5.8 consumes too much memory. It is now at 1.1 GB and rising. I have tuned the dbcachesize and cachesize parameters in the config file, but that has not helped.
I'd appreciate any help I can get in solving this problem. Also, I can't upgrade our installation due to other issues.

Which exact version are you using? There were some memory fixes in the service packs.

  • Deploying consumes a lot of memory on WLS (latest version)

I have a server with the latest version of WLS.
It has the complete webcenter suite installed so it runs the adminServer with 3 managed servers.
I have to do lots of deployments on that server and i notice that every time i deploy, the memory usage goes up.
When i reboot the server and start every managed server i have a usage of about 3.2GB
When i run my application the memory usage stays around 3.2GB
Then i deply for the first time. During deployment the memory goes to 3.4 and it stops their. I run my application and everything is working fine but the memory stays at 3.4GB
I do antoher deployment so the memory goes up again to 3.5 or 3.6GB. It stays their while i am running the application.
After 5 to 8 times deployment the server crashes. I can't deploy anymore. The server hangs. It does not give any feedback, no errors in the error logs. THe cpu goes to 100% and it stays their (waited for over 30min and it was still deploying).
So after some deployments i have to stop and start the server and then the memory usage is back to normal.
Does anybody has a clue what the cause could be for this issue?
It also depends on the application i deploy. When it's a small application i can deploy more times but when it's a heavy application for example the ExtendWebCenterSpaces project i can only deploy once and i have to reboot...

    Hi,
We have exactly the same issue re-deploying ADF 11.1.1.3 applications to WLS 10.3.3 on Linux Redhat (on VMware ESX 4) :
We had the problems with WLS10.3.2 and 11.1.1.2 and Sun JDK 64 bit.
We replaced Sun JDK with Jrockit but it was very mem greedy on 64bit (for our server size).
We tried with 10.3.3 and 11.1.1.3 32 bit with JRockit and same problem again.
It seems the increasing mem is on the WLS server instance where the application is deployed, as we could deploy and run without problem on another server.
Only way is to restart the whole thing.
Scary for production ! And prod target is next week...
    Anyone ?
    Jean-Marc

  • Webkit2webprocess is consuming a lot of memory in safari 5.1

Well I got this problem but the solution is to select in Safari- Tools:-Preferences -. Safety then to disable Pugins,Java,Java environment well this can cause problems to open some pages or videos unless you get back to the previous status....but i think the best solution is to use Chrome!!!!!

    More anecdotal data:
I see this on one of my systems, an older Mac Pro now on Yosemite 10.10.2. After a recent reboot, Image Capture Extension showed up fairly quickly with over a GB of memory use. The Image Capture application had not been used on this system since the boot. The only possible image capturing devices possibly "within range" during this boot are the scanning function of an all-in-one printer on the same ethernet subnet and several iOS devices with cameras on the wifi portion of that subnet.
Only the scanner function appears with Image Capture once it is launched (under SHARED). Image Capture Extension weighed in at 397MB. Plugging one of the devices in through USB causes it to show up under DEVICES and I.C.E. memory use rose to 444MB; unplugging it does not cause the memory use to drop, nor does quitting the app.

  • I keep getting notified by my AVG antivirus that FireFox is using a higher than usual amount of memory or a lot of memory and to close the ap and re open it. This does not seem to stop those notifications. What do I need to do to solve this issue?

I get this message mostly when I am Playing the games on Facebook or onPogo.com. It seems like this just started to occur over the last month or the last update I did with AVG.

As the message comes from AVG yo will need to read about AVG to stop those alerts.
If you think there is a genuine problem with firefox

    * go to ''about:memory'' by keying that into the location bar <br/> the report that is generated may be of help - it gives tooltip info on mouseover of items, and has a button that tries to reduce memory usage
