Weird start-up clock and network messages

This week I've begun receiving strange information at start-up. I'm being asked to join my home network at each start up although this has been always been an automatic connection. Network is still listed, just not connected. Once the connection is made, message says the clock is set to incorrect date (December 31, 1969)! Once I open Date & Time, system nearly instantly adjusts. Also, the battery will not charge beyond 1%, the light turns green a few seconds after plug-in, and the whole computer shuts off if the power cord is disconnected. Heck of a combination of troubles. This is the only problem I've ever had with this TiBook so I have no idea what to do or where to start.

To expand on Hardy's absolutely correct advice:
All your problems arise from your main battery being stone dead and no longer capable of taking a charge. When AC power is connected, the charging system tries and tries to charge the main battery but never succeeds. All available energy is directed to the dead battery, and none to your Powerbook's internal backup battery, which is also drained, probably as a result of the Powerbook's having sat for several hours without AC power connected to it on some recent occasion. If you remove the main battery (which isn't doing you any good anyway, in its present condition), the backup battery will recharge over a period of 4-6 hours, and the settings you were formerly able to save in PRAM (including date, time, and probably some network connection options) will start being saved again. You'll just have to keep AC power connected until you get a new main battery, or the backup battery will drain again, and you'll be back where you are right now.

I have a iMac G5 17". It will boot up, apple start up screen, Mac OS X screen, and then finally Desktop. but about 20 seconds the screen will start to pixelate and kinda "wig out" then it will tint a dark grey and a error message in multiple languages will appear saying " Push the power button to restart". at this moment the screen is completely frozen. all I can do it power it off.
What could this be? Maybe a bad hard drive? Screen? Power source?

I tried to update my computer itunes program and it failed several times. First of all I had a message that sdi choose "tools and then download manually." I did and then everything got even worse. I got a message that siad, "This application has failed to start...MSVCR80.dil...Reistalllation may fix th problem."
I finally just backed out of everything and then got a message that said, "Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall...Error 7 (Windows error126).
I need a tech person to call me and help. I don't have a clue what to do. I'm a musicain and all of my using is on itunes on my computer...I want to cry...I can't open it...is ti gone!!!!

Got the same problem. It seems it is happening all over the place with the i-tunes update.

Can't see the battery, clock, and network indicator on lock or home screen

It only appears in apps. I just upgraded to 7.0.2. It's the whole bar that's missing, also wifi, alarm, DND mode, etc... Anyone else seeing this? Is there a new setting for this somewhere?

Alright. The problem seems to have solved it self after I updated some other apps (skype and pizza pizza). Seems like that should be unrelated, but it happened.

Late 2010 iMac running 10.9.2 started waking up to the main login prompt screen after coming out of what should be `sleep'. I then have to relog in to my account and network drives have to become reconnected.

This has started quite recently and it appears as if there is no difference if either I have instigated `sleep' (option + cmd + eject keys) or if sleep has started after its time-out period. I then have to wait for my 2 network attached drives to reconnect! It's as if a restart has occured. I've reset the PRAM and done a verify disk (SSD) and repaired permissions but to no avail. Any help/suggestions even cures much appreciated. Thanks.

See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

Node failed to join the cluster because it ould not send and receive failure detection network messages

One of my customers has a Windows Server 2008 R2 cluster for an Exchange 2010 Mailbox Database Availability Group. Lately, they've been having problems with one of their nodes (the one node that is on a different subnet in a different datacenter) where
their Exchange databases aren't replicating. While looking into this issue it seems that the problem is the Network Manager isn't started because the cluster service is failing. Since the issue seems to be with the cluster service, and not Exchange,
I'm asking here.
When the cluster service starts, it appears to start working, but within a few minutes the following is logged in the system event log.

It seems that the problem is with the 169.254 address on the cluster virtual adapter. An entry in the cluster.log file says: Aborting connection because NetFT route to node nodename on virtual IP 169.254.1.44:~3343~ has failed to come up.
In my experience, you never have to mess with the cluster virtual adapter. I'm not sure what happened here, but I doubt it has been modified. I need the cluster to communicate with its other nodes on our routed 10. network. I've never experienced
this before and found little in my searches on the subject. Any idea how I can fix this?

Hi,
I suspected an issue with communication on UDP port 3343. Please confirm the set rules for port 3343 on all the nodes in firewall and enabled all connections for all the profiles
in firewall on all the nodes are opened, or confirm the connectivity of all the node.
Use ipconfig /flushdns to update all the node DNS register, then confirm the DNS in your DNS server entry is correct.

Hi, I don't know who to turn to: the person who handles all the compter stuff is out of town, This A.M.I started up Firefox and there was a message re an update, I thoght I new just to click on install and wait to re start Firefox. But what I can remember is that another window opened and asked me to choose 'something' (an icon or banner or?), I thought I must click something (I guess I should read all clearly). Firefox did update to 3.6.4, but it also inserted some sort of what might be called a banner? But it only partly covers the right one- half of my 3 toolbars at the top of the Firefox window. It can't be used for anything as it is just a mess of colors and unknowns, except what looks like a 'top' and what I recognize as a Firefox icon (but only partly visible)!! Now, what it does do is partly hide that whole portion of the toolbars and they are hard to read and in turn make this 'thing' impossible to figure out, if I would care to? I can't find anyway to remove it or use it?? But since the Firefox icon is on it, I guess you should know what it is and how to trash it. I am sorry for this occurrence caused my my carelessness, but I'm not much of a computer person ----HELP! Thank you for any help. Judi

Here should be the persona (lightweight theme)
and a button "Remove"
Click it (button Remove), and it (Persona, this mix of colors) should go away instantly.

"Your email account" means to tap on the name of your email account. Whatever it is listed as in the settings.
In my mail settings, one of my email accounts is a Comcast account. I tap on the Comcast name and it brings up this window.
Then I tap on the arrow under the Outgoing mail server smtp setting to get to the next window.
In the resulting window, I then tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Primary Server setting.
That brings up this window in which I check to make sure that my user name and password have been entered correctly. If those items are missing, enter them in the appropriate fields and then tap done.

Problem with internet. When i open System preferences, Network, message drops down: 'your network settings have been changed by another application'. I click OK, but it drops a message again and again, preventing me to do anything about the setting.

In the Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ folder delete the following:
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
NetworkInterfaces.plist
preferences.plist
com.apple.nat.plist
You will have to re-configure all your network settings since deleting.

Is there an outage in the Cleveland, Ohio area (zip codes 44129, 44134, 44137) or anything else I can do to resolve this issue?

Not that I'm a Verizon employee, but I have experience in the field. An LTE tower will only extend up to, on a perfect day, with no elevation, 6-7 miles. On a typical day, you will be lucky at four (4) miles. The three ZIP codes you've given are all within about a 12 mile radius. That would mean that 2-3 towers are currently down at the same time, and Verizon would know about it within the hour. Being it's Cleveland, I'm sure they would receive numerous calls regarding an outage of that size.
My point is that if you're having issues in all three ZIP codes, chances are it's a phone issue. If you're handset is simply not receiving LTE, but still receiving 3G, that would signify a SIM card issue. You need to get your SIM card replaced.
