What a joke!

So my cable has been disconnected several times now for an unpaid bill? Well getting a bill would have been nice, since I'm a "preferred Xfinity insider". I end up paying it over the phone, because I refuse to pay the $5.99 to pay with a real person. Each time there's a problem and I have to call back to get it started, even though they have their money? The time before last nights incident the guy said he would mail me free movie coupons for my bad experience. Well those never came and then once again my cable/internet was turned off. So after giving them $200.00 over the phone still no service. After reaching a life person she proceeds to tell me they're sending me a bill on my Comcast email? What I have this I told her. I have two other emails why do I need a third. She says "you really need to be on top of this type stuff". So I track down this mystery email they gave me and only emails are all from Comcast and not a one had been opened. No other emails form anyone else. She tells me my payment is pending and the business office is now closed. After arguing with her she says she can put in a service call and our service will be back on in two hours. So ten minutes later it's back on! Not only do they over charge for their service their customer service, automated system, and overall quality is the worst and most costly! Mr./Mrs. Comcast you must be living in a big house and living a pretty charmed life!!!

  • BT infinity 'super fast' fibre optic, what a joke!...

    ridiculous, just ran BT's own test your speeds, I'm getting 15.45 download, 2.90 upload and 41.50 ping (whatever that is), I knew internet was slow but what a joke, that's when it's working, it flashes orange more than is blue, this is the second modem to do this (and they're sending a third!)
    not quite the at least 51 download speed was promised by BT when signed up to the super duper mega fast Infinity2 fibre optic package, I'm connected to the DSL not the WAN, will this affect it, trying to talk to their CS is a joke, they're obviously reading from a booklet and have no idea when ask about that, in fact they ignore it completely!!
    anyone else getting this?  it's the home hub 5, my socket wasn't changed like was told it would have to be neither? :s
    am seriously tempted to cancel the DD and send the hubs back to BT with a note saying as haven't provided what said would you can shove it, seriously, telling folks will get super fast and signing up to the most expensive package got...then delivering a sloppy second service, I'm not prepared to pay over £40 a month for, it won't even connect to my son's laptop neither, says is 'too far' we live in a bog standard house, not a 30 bedroom mansion, his bedroom is right above the modem, he can't get much closer unless moves on top of the thing!

    As to apps disappearing, it's not uncommon for apps to be removed from the app store. I have a couple of games that I play that are no longer available.
    Did you install 8 'over the air'? If so, research into doing a restore. Use a computer to back up your device and then reinstall iOS8 via a computer, and then restore your data from the backup. Sometimes a clean install clears away glitches caused by over the air installs.

  • Spending limit - what a joke!

    I have been a loyal customer for 2.5 years with a bill that is almost $500 per month for 8 lines on Edge plus one line that has completed a 2-year contract. That means I have paid verizon between 12,000 and 15,000 dollars on time every time. I have an excellent credit rating, and now they tell me there is a spending limit.
    They let me add 8 Edge lines to my plan. I called Verizon direct to see about upgrading, and they told me that me and my husband could both upgrade if we paid 98.88 per phone.
    We did that, but now tell me I cannot upgrade because there is a "hard cap" of $4,000 spending limit on the Edge program (which they extended to $5,000 to sell me two additional lines in September, but it appears to be back down to $4,000 now that I want to upgrade). They had no problem taking my money for the "Edge Up" upgrade payment. One phone was upgraded just fine, but they now say I need to put down a $300 down payment on the second phone we want to upgrade. I have talked to multiple people at Verizon because it makes no sense. I am not adding another line. I am simply trying to trade phones of equal value. If I am going to do that, I will buy one outright for $300 and add it to my plan with no contract.
    Where does it say that there is an equipment cap of $4,000, and how do they think you could every have 9 or 10 (max) phones with equipment prices less than $4,000? Shouldn't that limit be associated with the number of lines on the plan or the creditworthiness of the customer rather than a "hard cap"?
    I think it is unfair practice to increase it to make the initial sale, but decrease it, so they do not have to fulfill their end of the contract. Also, if they have decreased my spending limit, they did it without notifying me, and they had no reason to do so.
    I guess they do not want or need my $6,000 per year. Buyer beware on Edge. It is not what they say or advertise. I was a huge fan until I tried to actually use it.

  • BT Activation what a JOKE

    Been with BT for a while and forgot about the problems we had when they first installed broadband, having to have several visits from an engineer just to get any decent speed.
    Decided to upgrade to infinity, ordered the 22nd, got a date when the engineer would come and activation for the 3rd and we wouldn’t even have to be at the house.
    A week later got a text saying that was being moved back to the 8th. That’s ok only 5 more days.
    Well yesterday came and I eagerly waited for the text to tell me the work was completed or anything to say it had happened but nothing. Get back home and tested my internet and it’s exactly the same, same speed, same connection as if nothing’s changed and spoke with the girlfriend and see says it hasn't gone off all day.
    Again no biggie I give BT a quick call and spoke to someone that contacted the engineer who said the work had been completed and we’re just waiting for the activation. I ask him about he fact I seen to be still connected at the old speed he reassures me that fine the activation will happen and it will all start going fast.
    Well that time passed and nothing, so I phone today and again I’m told the all the works done but I the order cannot be completed till the 11th, So I ask why if all the worked been done, all I get is you don’t understand BT systems and it takes that long.
    I don’t think it’s a hard question why do I have to wait 2 days for the engineers if the work has been completed?
    If the works been completed why is my line exactly the same as it always been, you would have thought I would have noticed some change?
    I have a feeling my date has just been pushed back again, not a problem these things happen but a little honesty about what’s really happening goes a long way.

    New update still no internet but heading in the right direction. Managed to speak to a decent tech who actuallty belived my story and an engineer is on the way for monday so no internet till then. What this update is about BT complaints dept and I thought the Tech's were bad. 
    Just got my complaint call back 24 hours late. Call started OK informed me about my engineer I said I know this my complaint is about the people on the phone........he said the tech is booked for Monday so much its sorted.
    Now what happens about my complaint now? He told me straight NOTHING. This is where I do admit I lost my rag and raised my voice. Not to worry the complaint man just kept shouting the engineer is booked, the engineer is booked. I tell him its not aboit the engineer its about the phone service. Apparently I am wrong and my complaint is about the engineer so its sorted nothing else is happening. Why bother wasting my time. 
    BT can you get any worse in my opinion. Can't wait till Monday thanks for costing me a days holiday. We've all got those spare.

    Adobe promote the product with statements like:

    We had a interaction regarding your issue that you could not lauch Design Premium CS4. Unfortunatly (sic) the call got disconnected. Here are the solutions for your issue Solution 1: Revert to Mac OS 10.6.2 or earlier
    So, Adobe are telling me that the Design Premium CS4 editition of their software is not compatible with OSX10.6.3
    That is just not good enough & I will be asking for a refund!

    This is so fustrating, I mean cmon seriously I am pretty sure that everyone who owns iPhone with iOS 7 on it is ****** feeling bad. What is this a wannabe Android version?

    Try following these steps:
    1) Open iTunes on your computer and sign into your account.
    2) Click the Account link under the QuickLinks list
    3) There should be an Edit Button by your credit card and billing information.  Click the edit button next to the section you wish to make changes to.
    4) Enter in your changes.  Make sure your billing address matches exactly what is listed on your credit card statement, becuase variation can lead to purchases not going through properly.
    5) When all of the information is up to date, save your changes.

  • Infinty.... what a joke!!

    Hi all, I have put up with BT for too long now without saying anything. Now tonight was the final straw!
    I moved up to Lincolnshire in January from Reading. I had been with BT Broadband for 3 years while I was living in Reading without any real problems. I sometimes suffered throttled speeds and occasional blackouts for a few days oh and regular home hub issues... Ok so I did have problems but when everything worked I got a good 3.5Mb speed. Not super fast but more than enough for me to be downloading, online gaming and the other half surfing the net.
    I was on the top "unlimited" package and before moving I enquired over the phone about my new expected speeds. As i didnt have a phone line installed yet, they could only give me a rough estimate but, they said the average was about 2.5Mb. Not too shabby considering I am about 10 miles outside of Lincoln City centre.
    When I moved up to Lincolnshire I stayed with the same package and after a mistake from the call centre, leaving me without internet and a phone line for the first week in my new house, (the most important time to need it really) only to find out that my new property only got 0.256Mb.... YES thats right 0.256Mb!!!!!! After an agonizing, drawn out phonecall to the most unhelpful call centre I have ever experienced I had managed to get myself onto the lowest option as I didn't see how they were offering me a premium package for what I was getting.
    So to my delight 9 months after moving up here I catch the BT Infinty advert on TV! Yes they are finally upgrading..... erm well no. And there are no plans to either!
    Why are they not upgrading the worst and oldest lines first before the average ones first? Ive been in both boats and yes my old speeds in Reading could have been better but it wasn't a must have! As I said it was more than fast enough to do most things. Whereas I cannot even play online anymore. Pretty frustrating after shelling out £40 to xbox live in January. Frustrating trying to download XBOX updates which sometimes take a day. Webpages that can take up to 30 seconds to load. Albums that take about and hour to download, and things like iPlayer and 4OD etc you can just forget it.
    Added to all of this the poor customer support both from the call centres and engineers and the quite frankly apauling BT Home Hubs! I'm amazed the Orange light hasnt needed to be changed yet as it is on so often.
    I really am at the end of my teather with BT Broadband now.
    I hope nobody else has had an experience like mine but unfortunately I'm sure that it wont be the case.

    When I first saw the roll out map for Infinity Broadband ....  I was dismayed.
    I looked at North Lincolnshire and the Humberside region, and clearly there was little to get excited about.
    For economic reasons BTw have seen fit to concentrate on key specific areas with high population levels.
    This being one of the key reasons why our area ( I live close to you) was not included in the first part of the
    project.
    We live in a big county that has a low level density of population, even Lincoln.
    I personally believe areas like Lincoln, Hykeham and such will eventually benefit, whereas I'm sure I won't
    in the villages.  I'd wait and see what next year;s allocation brings, as the project is expanded and alternative
    providers take up the batton ... as in South Yorkshire.

    for commercial business to begin with ... but my guess is, if it gets support it'll get taken up for domestic use and expanded into outlying areas.     Somebody help me understand what Verizon was thinking? They advertise do more faster with 4g. Download HD video and large files 10 times faster!! IT SHOULD READ HIT YOUR CAP 10 FASTER!!!! That's like GM selling you a new Corvette with the speed limiter set at 30mph!! What's the point!!?? If Verizon's LTE network is so great why do they need to cap it!!? Can't handle the load? I think the answer is Clear!!!!

    I posted a comparison with Verizon's rates vs. Sprint's and the Verizon groupies got all over me, super defensive... and that was just comparing their 3g services... where Sprint was basically $30 cheaper for the identical plan.  Spring 4G is $79 TOTAL; 450 minutes, unlimited text and data.  No overages except for voice, if you go over.  I've had AT&T before and they were terrible... but Verizon isn't anything to write home about.  We're supposed to be happy that a company can maintain a call without it being dropped?  I'm just not sure how reliable Sprint is, in comparison. 
    Verizon wants to gouge us with $50/month for 5gb data or $80 10gb data ON TOP of our insane rates... LOL!!!  when's enough enough!?   
    I keep telling myself that it's gonna get better and to stick with Verizon but I can't see why anymore.  No wonder they were so **bleep** secretive with any 4G detail.

  • Adobe technical support - what a joke!

    I have tried to get technical support for CAPTIVATE CS4 for about 4 hours only to get through to someone in INDIA who has absolutely not a clue of what I am talking about and who can barely speak english. Then I was promised a call back within 10 minutes which never came, waited on hold for over 30 minutes, only to be disconnected, then eventually got through again only to be hung up on!
    I am flabergasted that it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get any technical assistance from anyone at ADOBE.  You can spend literally going around and around in circles on the Adobe website - you click on "Contact Us" and it's about another 50 questions !!!!!  only to end up back where you started from !   I found a phone number in Sydney, which diverted me back to the morons in INDIA !!!
    Software is great - customer support TOTALLY SUCKS!

    The Server may need to have a MIME type configured in order to serve FLV files

    The server may be UNIX or a UNIX variant. In this case, the file naming structure may need to be examined in order to see if you need to change anything. For example, the Captivate file is referencing MyVideo.flv and the actual file name is myvideo.flv. So you need to either rename the reference or the actual file name on the server to match.

  • Adobe Reader server licensing - what a joke!

    I go to download Adobe Reader 9 to install on our Citrix servers. As I'm in a Citrix session, the Windows 2003 Server version is selected automatically. I take a look at the licence, and it says: "This agreement does not permit you to install or use the software on a computer file server", and refers me to http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_distribute. Now as far as I am concerned, our Citrix servers are terminal servers, not file servers, but I follow the link anyway. This directs me to the Adobe Reader Distribution Agreement, which says: "Distributor may install one copy of the Software on a computer file server within Distributors Intranet for the sole and exclusive purpose of allowing use of the Software from an unlimited number of client computers on Distributors Intranet via ... (ii) Windows Terminal Services, (iii) Citrix ...". Now this talks about a file server, but describes a terminal server - it seems that Adobe doesn't know the difference. In any case, we have two Citrix servers, and I want to install Reader on both. What am I supposed to do - complete an agreement for each server? What if we had 50 servers? Come on Adobe - get your act together.

    Your users agent is stuck at Firefox 3.0.11 due to a extension during when you had 3.0.11 and it tacked on stuff on end and kept it from updating the version number. This was due to the "Fast Browser Search toolbar" extension (FBSMTWB). This issue is not a problem with Firefox 4.0 and newer.

  • Tech Support what a joke.

    I just spent 35 minutes on hold to get an untrained support person that proceeded to waste another 30 minutes of my time to tell me I needed a technician come to my house and them told me he could come anytime between 8:00am and 9:00PM.  I said I can't take off a day because my cable went out.  I told him I believe it is the remote.  My dog sat on it.  he insisted it was the signal and reset my box twice and nothing happened.  He supposedly scheduled me a maintenance visit but I checked on-line and do not see any repair order issued.  I consulted a friend and we figured out the problem so I was trying to cancel the repair order.  Needless to say I will cancel my service with this company because they fail to understand two little words - Customer Service.

    Called in last night and was told wait was 50 minutes. Hung up. Called this morning, no mention of waiting time, but so far its been 1 hour 7 minutes. After 40 minutes, decided to try chat. Was advised wait time 40 minutes to chat. Totally unacceptable! Probably will end up like you with someone that knows nothing but "Try resetting the box." The product is usually good,but the customer service is worse than anything I've experienced. Yet they actually sent an email this week touting they were #1 in Customer Service according to a survey. Wish they had asked me!
