What activity is iTunes trying to perform?

I plug my iPad Air into my iMac 10,1(Mavericks) for backup normally. I do not backup through the cloud. If iTunes is not running, when I start up the iMac's iTunes11.1.4, I get this message: "Do you want the application 'iTunes.app' to accept incoming network connections?" (Clicking Deny may limit the apps behavior. This setting can be changed in the Firewall pane of Security & Privacy preferences.)
I authorized iTunes to sync the iPad Air over WiFi here at the house. Is that what this message is about?
I'd just like to know what activity I need to authorize and what I don't.

It's checking for updates and getting ready to communicate Genius information with Apple, among other possibilities depending on your settings such as looking for purchases to automatically download.

I tried logging into My verizon an I get "The activity you are trying to perform is currently unavailable. Please try again later." is it the site?
or just me i tried logging into my girlfriends my verizon account same thing happened used different web browsers as well. Any ideas?

Can you please fix this problem, it's been active for over a month, I haven't been receiving text about my data usage and it's ridiculous because I just now found out I went over with absolutely NO warning and now I can't even log in to see if I had "send text messages about data" enabled.

Two simple solutions.
First I don't know what browser you are using so in what ever browser you use, go into internet options and clear the cache and cookies from the browser. Turn off the computer and then turn it back on and you should be able to use the site.
Second change the browser to a different one and try http://www.verizonwireless.com and you should have access once again. a nice browser I like is Firefox http://www.mozilla.org or http://www.firefox.com if you have that one download Google Chrome http://www.google.com then click the download Chrome button.
I suspect my first suggestion will fix your situation.

No, I did not find a way to fix it. Went to Apple store to be told that the phone is dead and I would need to purchase a new phone. A little frustrated with the fact that it is Apple who caused the phone to not work!

I am also dealing with the new iTunes 11. How can I accomplish this successfully? What folder does iTunes use to store the data in? I've tried several things. Home Sharing caused duplicates but not all songs or apps transfered. It is a large library! I've tried just setting the path in the Advanced Tab of iTunes preferences of the new computer with the external drive connected the same as the path when the external drive is connected to the old computer. This was the best solution so far but still a few artists missing and some apps. Any suggestions?

Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
With iTunes 11 you might also have a Home Videos folder inside iTunes Media.
In the simplest cases you copy the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> on the source computer to <User's Music> on the target machine, install iTunes, and it "just works"TM.
If the media folder (inside the red outline) has been split out to a separate location then you can copy the library folder (outside the red outline) as before and connect the drive holding the media so that it has exactly the same path as before. If the drive appears as D: on one system and E: on the other then the library won't be able to find the media.
The crucial file is iTunes Library.itl - this contains a record of the tracks that have been added to the library, ratings, play counts, playlists etc.

Share your movie to the Media Browser. Then, in iDVD, drag your movie in from the Media Browser at the bottom right.
THe Share to iDVD option is only activated if your source material is DV or AVCHD.

Running Win 7 Pro, browsing Firefox 7.0.1

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the file sessionstore.js in the Firefox profile folder.
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then make sure that Session is unchecked in the settings for the Firefox application.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or take the phone into an Authorized Apple Service provider.

Transfer the purchass by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
If not transferred, the purchases will not be on the iPod after the update.
