What counts as proof of purchase?

What do I need to submit for proof of purchase?  I don't think I received anything with my laptop.  I printed off the order tracking page as it had the order date and serial number and sent it to the email address yesterday and haven't gotten anything.  What do I do?  How can I know if I'm going to be getting the copy of Windows 7 I'm entitled to?  I'm panicking right now and I can't find any information about anything.

Ridiculous.   You're absolutely right. • Disputing a late payment reporting. What counts as "proof'?

I am disputing a account that has a "Late payment" reporting.  I foolishy wrote down the confirmation in a notebook, and have lost track of it. I know it was paid, and the account shouldn't be reported as over 60 days late.  I am doing my best to find any proof. I know I called the creditor on a speific date before the payment was due, and was talking to them for a few minutes.  I pulled my telephone records, and it does show I called the creditor, and talked to them for 18 minutes, yet before I found this, the creditor said they couldn't see a call was made to them.  I also have a "payment allocation" paper they sent to me that says a transcation for "$100" dollars was made on 03/18/2015, and my phone records have the phone call taking place on 03/17/2015. I just found these documents a day ago.  I don't understand how a phone call wouldn't be recorded, but yet it shows on my phone bill that I talked to them for 18 minutes. I googled the number, and it was the creditors number.  They have said i never did talk to them ,but that was before I went through my phone bill. Do i have anything worth sending them to show that what they have told me isn't correct?

  • Is Apple acknowledgement email good for proof of purchase?

I purchased a new Macbook recently and wanted to print an invoice as proof of purchase however at the time of the purchase I did not make an Apple Id. So when I put my order number in to go to print it ask for an ID. Furthermore, does the acknowledgement email count as proof of purchase?

Well I came across this http://support.apple.com/kb/he44 if you scroll to  "Keep Your Sales Receipt and Proof of Coverage in a Safe Place"

  • What to do if I don't have my proof of purchase for AppleCare, but I am registered?

Hey, I am wondering what will happen if I need service and don't have my receipt? The AppleCare coverage checker page where you type your serial number, says I have coverage until March 27, 2015. I do not have any proof of purchase, as it got lost in a move. I am just curious if I can get around that part, as long as my serial number is registered and says I'm covered? Has anyone had this problem and gotten around it? Right now I posted another thread about my MacBook Pro being locked up with that circle with a slash through it thing, so I may need the Apple Care. Thanks...

    Hi LudwigZildjian,
It sounds as if you are concerned about the AppleCare coverage you purchased for your MacBook Pro. You can check that Apple has a record of your support coverage by entering your serial number in ths form on this page -
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
You can find the serial number using the steps on this page -

  • What to provide for Proof of Purchase? Bought on apple website

As the title stats what can I provide as a proof of purchase?
I took a picture of the box which shows the part number/serial code/barcode etc.
but I got an email from apple saying they either did not recive a proof of purchase for my claim or it was not a valid proof of purchase.
Again I made my purchase on the apple website on June 11th 2012 so they should have the receipt on file but what else can I submit as proof?

If you bought your machine on Apple's website and are in the United States, you don't need to provide any proof of purchase.  Just give your serial number.
That's exactly what I did, and it worked.

Go here to add the iPad to your support profile. That should work. Keep the credit card receipt as well.

Apple ask me a proof of purchase of my macbook for activate my AppleCare Protection Plan, but even if it's a JPEG lower than 5 mo, it told me that it's not «good» (in french: le format de ce fichier n’est pas valide.) and I can't send them my proof... so I can't activate my AppleCare protec Plan. What can I do?

Call the Apple support line, ask for AppleCare Plan Administration, and get a fax number and fax a copy of the receipt to them.

  • What type of file is accepted for proof of purchase upload?

I need to submit proof of purchase for a product purchased with Apple (hello Apple!!!) but it wont accept any type of file- ive tried about 6 or 7.

what is the reason when i read a 24 bit png image...it shows the type as 0 (TYPE_CUSTOM) ?
From the the Field Detail section for the TYPE_CUSTOM field in BufferedImage: the image type is not recognized.
You could make a new BufferedImage with TYPE_INT_RGB, or TYPE_INT_ARGB if the image has or will have transparent pixels, and copy the TYPE_CUSTOM image into it. Then you can manipulate/process the new image.

When registering for the AppleCare Protection plan, a section pops up requiring me to submit a proof of purchase... I threw away my receipt ): How can I register my laptop?

Call Apple Care at 1800 SOS APPLE, usually something can be done with the serial number.

  • What can I do if I don't have proof of purchase for repairing my 5s?

There's some problem with my iPhone 5s.
Today I took it to Apple Store but it turned out they couldn't help me since I don't have proof of purchase.
After I left the Genius Bar I asked an employee there if an original iPhone box will be consider as "proof of purchase" if I can't show them the receipt, and he said yes.
I need to reconfirm if this is true before I have my family ship it all the way from other country to the US.
    My situation is,
I bought the phone from some guy on Craigslist. He showed me the original receipt that proved he got the phone with a T-mobile 2-year-contract.
I didn't know having the receipt is so important when it comes to having Apple staff to fix the phone for me.
As far as I know, that guy had stopped paying for the monthly payment that he's supposed to, so the IMEI for my iPhone is blacklisted.
    My questions are,
    1. Can the original iPhone case be considered as a "proof of purchase" ?
    2. If my IMEI is blacklisted, can I still get my phone fixed with Apple?

T-mobile provides the iPhone 5S with no down payment with a two year contract.
If the guy from Craiglist isn't honoring the contract, he hasn't bought the phone; it still belongs to T-mobile.  Unless the receipt showed him paying the full price for the phone, it was not his to sell to you.
You have a defective phone that does not belong to you.  Do you really expect Apple to help.

  • What is the proof of the original purchase

What is the proof of the original purchase

They probably will not accept the serial number since that does not prove ownership, only possession.  But you can talk to the support people and see what they say.  We are all fellow users on here and not Apple employees so cannot speak for them.

  • Installation of the Proof of Purchase from the ACPI table failed. Error code:0xC004F059

I just updated Window 8.0 to 8.1 for the second time as the first Time there was an UEFI issue...  the 8.1 installs and update seemed smooth... I shut down, and I leave for work. I come home fire up my PC it seems slow!! it boots...
I notice some live tiles are active I prefer mine off so I  shut off a couple Live tiles. so then I decide to open the Mail tile and it locks up... and then one of my browsers freezes up!!! I could not open task manager at all to end the
proses, so I decided to restart and then an app was not allowing windows to restart!!! so windows ended the task on its own could not make out what program or app it was!!! and the machine booted up slower again. I went into the event viewer
and what do I find in there is this stuff and now looking at it this all started after the windows 8.1 update... I get it we all want the latest and greatest OS but as my mom said good things come to those whom wait don't rush into anything!!!
and I think Microsoft you are rushing to push stuff out onto the Market... so now I have to sit here and wonder why my PC now takes 2 + minutes to load!!! (BS) and on win 8.0 it took 60 seconds... fix this please I will watch and see if
this happens again if it keeps up I will have to once again revert back to 8.0 and at that point I will want some $$$ compensation for my loss... why should I have to go through hoops for something with the word Mircrosoft attached to it...
I wonder how many others have had this same issue and don't even know its happening....

Before this I had used apps.diagcab and it said my IE 11's  temporary internet files folder was in the wrong place that it was going to put it back. Well, it messed up my IE 11 so the folder location was in the same place but it was not listed in the

  • Battery exchange program: is proof of purchase really needed?!

I own Apple PowerBook G4 and my battery falls under this exchange program.
I'm from Russia but purchased my notebook in the USA.
On Apple Support website you write that only my computer serial number and battery serial number needed to participate in this exchange program.
I contacted Apple Distributors here in Russia (www.apple.ru, www.deepapple.com) about participating in this exchange program. But alongside with these two serial numbers they ask me for "proof of purchase" otherwise they refuse to exchange my battery.
Why is it so? Why I don't need that "proof of purchase" in the USA and in other countries listed, but need it in Russia? Why 2 serial numbers, the notebook itself, the original PowerBook box with documents package are not enough to exchange my battery?
Not so long ago I've noticed that my battery changed its shape and color but didn't know why it happened. After reading about this problem and the exchange program on Apple Support website I'm afraid to continue using my Apple computer and I am refused to exchange the battery.
What have I to do? Please help!
Apple PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Apple iPod mini 4GB Green

    Hi,
I live in the US, also where I purchased my PowerBook G4 12". When I received my replacement battery it did not fit, and when I called Apple about they asked me for a purchase date and told me that because I bought my machine from MacMall it would have to be registered with Apple. Now I have to fax AND email them an invoice proving that I purchased it just to get a SECOND replacement battery.
I don't know why a SN of both machine and battery isn't sufficient, except that maybe they want to know that you actually purchased the machine, not bought it from someone else (maybe the warranty doesn't transfer?) or that it's not stolen?

  • My Ipod needs hardware repair, but don't have proof-of-purchase

Hi guys, I'm new over here. I don't know if I'm even posting in the right place, or if these forums are here for this kinds of questions. Sorry If I'm using them the wrong way...
The thing is that I'm having some troubles with my Ipod Touch. I first realized that there was something wrong with it when I tried plugging to a car adapter. It kind of sounded over the radio, but with very low volume, lots of noise, and without announcing that it was charging.
Then, I went to my computer, plugged it in, and notice that it wasn't getting any charge neither, nor wasn't being recognized by Itunes nor the typical USB discovery. Then I went to my nearest Apple Store and the guy told me that he needed a proof-of-purchase receipt to validate the warranty and repair the Ipod, and that if I didn't have one, I'd have to pay for the repair, and that for what it looks, I'm better off buying a new Ipod.
The thing is that my mom bought my Ipod last November, in the Lenox Square Apple Store in Atlanta, and she then came to Venezuela and lost the receipt (maybe she forgot she needed it, or nobody told her about the warranty so she threw it away).
My question is this basically: what can I do? I've thought of contacting the Lenox Square Store (preferable via email) to explain them what happened, so that maybe they could help me get something that would work as a proof-of-purchase, but there're no email addresses easily visible and I don't wanna waste a Long distance call just to get bummed out.
    What do you guys suggest?
Thanks in advance, I'll appreciate every kind of help you could give; even if it's just "Dude, you're screwed."

I did! And according to the link you gave, it says that my Ipod is Registered, Expired for Telephone Technical Support, and Active for Repairs and Service Coverage, with an estimated expiration date of November 26, 2010, which seems about right--that's the week my mom came back from her trip!
So I'm a little bit more hopeful now, but still a little worrisome: the guy at the Apple Store checked the Serial Number using the bar code beneath the Ipod Box and said, "I need proof-of-purchase 'cause according to the system, this Ipod left a Store on May 2009, so it's ALMOST out of warranty, and Apple will require them that I give them a copy of the receipt."
Still. I'm thinking of printing that screenshot and showing it to him.
    Thanks a lot luvlabs!
