  • Can I get music back after formating cpu?

Can I get music back after formating cpu?

If the music was RIP'd from CD, then the fastest way is to restore from your backup.
Since it sounds like you did not have a backup, you will need to reRIP them from your CDs. Nothing else you can do.
iTunes purchases you can redownload. Open iTunes, go to the store, click on Purchases on the right side under Quick links.
Then tell the tech who formatted it for you without making a backup or making sure teat YOU made a backup that his rear end has a vacancy sign and your foot is looking for a place to rent.
and you should make a backup right now of your computer and update teh backup after you RIP all the CDs.
And make it a regualr practice, like weekly, depending on how much you want to lose.

  • I had the free version and the advertisement said I could upgrade to the PDF-Print for $29.95 but when I went to order they charged me $39.95. Did I just get ripped off for $10.00?

I just purchased PDF-Print but did not pay the $29.95 as per the advertisement. I had to pay $39.95.  Did I just get ripped off for $10?

Wrong forum (and software company). Here you have an Adobe Acrobat forum. So Acrobat is the application and Adobe is the company.

  • Getting music back after formatting computer

I am a music teacher and use iTunes for all my recorded music. Over the summer, my school upgraded our computers to WIndows 7. Is there a way to get my music back? I spent a ton of money on all of it and would hate for it to all be gone... I have it on my iPod but can't figure out how to get it back on my computer. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks so much!

Use your backup copy. This is one of the reasons that always maintaining a backup is basic.
If you have failed to do so, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod:
    File>Transfer Purchases

  • HOw do I get my purchased music back after having to restore my Ipod touch

I had to restore my Ipod touch because of a corrupted file. How do I get my purchased music back?

The answer is that the iCloud advertising in Danish speaks of restoring apps, books and music and shows this, and in small print / gray print adds that in some countries this is not available. The Danish copy does not say that in Denmark the service is unavailable (suppose the English copy in US spelling showed the service, but did not say that the service was unavailable in the US).

After another couple of hours of hunting around, a Knowledge Base article in Danish turns up which begins by saying that purchases from the App Store, the iBookstore and the iTunes Store are restorable, but in small print / gray print advises which countries the service in fact covers. Denmark is not covered.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4539?viewlocale=da_DK
Naturally, the Danish copy should in both the advertising and in the additional information start by clarifying that music is not restorable for Danish customers. Instead, the Danish copy extolls a service that does not cover the iTunes Store in Denmark. The term for this in Danish is 'vildledende markedsføring' which is to say that the marketing is misleading.

  • How do i get my music back after the 5.0.1 update

I updated my phone without a problem however when I updated my mom's phone it didn't work out so great! Everytime I plugg it in it tells me that there are items that need to be transfered to the computer and somehow lost all of the music in the "music feature" on her phone. I can't her music back on her phone...any ideas?

  • Why do Oz users get ripped off all the time.

Hi Can anyone explain why it costs $AUD16.99 an album or $AUD1.69 per song to buy music through the Itunes store in Australia when it costs $US9.99 to buy the same album ( or $US0.99) per song if you buy in the US. The current exchange rate is at around 95c in the $ so the price should be no more than about a $1.10 so Apple or somebody is making on average about 33% extra for every song sold in Australia. This is discriminatory and patently unfair. It doesn't cost Apple any more to service Australian clients than American and this price difference is unjustifiable on the evidence before me.

Which is precisely what I am doing. i will find a way to purchase direct from the US or UK. But I would still be keen to see some justification for the rip off apart from the "cause we can" mentality. Still doesn't make it right for Apple or the record companies if it is them that are setting the prices. Typical isn't it . The whole music industry's (ie the labels) approach to digital music right from the start - firstly fight it tooth and nail until such time as it is obvious you can't win so then change the rules and try and control it even more than ever before (DRM and sundry associated issues ) and again when even that is shown as a complete waste of time and effort introduce a pricing model that favours particular markets. And people wonder why people share music ?
And even the fact that your statement regarding different negotiated market access for different markets is a joke in itself. Why is a US consumer any more entitled to a cheaper price for music than someone in Brazil, Australia, Asia etc. Sure their market is bigger but with online music it is a global market with no respect to borders. So that argument would also be fallacious. Lets face it they do it cause they are getting away with it and they don't really give a toss about the consumer.
So you are suggesting that the costs of supplying an Australian consumer is 33% more than the cost for a US customer . Basically this works out that every third album you buy should be free or would be free if the prices were comparable.

  • Moving music back after reinstall

My daughter's imac G3 was a mess. She needed copies of some of the files, but not much of it so I hooked up an external drive and copied her existing hard drive onto it. I didn't use CCC or anything like it because I was intending on starting from scratch anyway. Just needed her music and Appleworks docs.
I erased her hard drive and installed her new Tiger software onto it. Everything went well and it is running good, but now I am ready to bring her music back over to it from the external drive. Can someone tell me how best to do this or point me to another thread/article that explains the right method?
    Thanks
    sj

Your last guess was closer to reality. At first I though I had lost all the music. Since her house is always a bit of a commotion, I took the external home to investigate further and found about 1300+ songs in an "unknown artist" folder.
They were mostly her boyfriend's (a musician) music and very dear to him. None of them were itunes bought, as they were all back-ups every CD they ever bought...good thing since they were robbed and all the cds were stolen.
Sooo... I used the computer we have at our house to drag all these "unknown" files to its itunes and they all copied over fine. I then sought out the names for all the tracks using itunes and most all of them were identified and sorted by itunes. There were many that still remain "unknown" and I have to assume these files may be the damaged ones that prevented me from bringing over all the itunes stuff the FIRST time I cleaned up her hard drive a few weeks ago. (didn't tell you about that!) There were over 7 gB of music, which doesn't sound like a lot, but considering all the photo's she had too...her hard drive was crammed full. Dumb kids.
I dragged the music folder from user>me>music>itunes to the external. I plan on going over to her house and drag them into her itunes just like I did at my house. will this work? I will dump all the "unknowns" that were left in the library before copying it over.
    or
    Is there a better way?
Then I will tell her to get an external drive to keep her photos on. That will be another project for another time. I hope she can use iphoto with an external drive for storage.

  • If i have multiple email addresses for one iPod that are no longer in use (and i've since forgotten the passwords), what do i do to transfer that music back into my iTunes library?

Help! None of the music on that iPod is on my computer ever since I had to reinstall my os. The iPod has massive amounts of unused space, but I can't access it. What do I do?

The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.
