What do I do when Itunes store won't follow through because I can't update Itunes past 9.2.1?
I have an a 20 inch Imac authorized for itunes. I can't get into the store because Itunes wants me to update to 10 which I cannot do. I have mac os 10.4.11 on my Imac. I also have a 12 inch Ibook lap top with the same problem. Upgrading these computers to mac os 10.5 would lessen their efficiency.
Or at least see if can be upgraded to 10.6 Snow Leopard, still available from the Apple Store? You can see the system requirements for SL here:

That would allow you to run the latest version of iTunes. If your system won't run 10.6, it probably would run Mac OS X 10.5 which would allow to run iTunes 10.6.3 which still works with the iTunes Store. You'll have to look to private sellers for a retail copy of Mac OS X 10.5.

I have an account with the iTunes store but can no longer access the store because I get a message in iTunes store window telling me to update to an iTunes version that will only run on Mac OS 10.5. I am on Mac OSX 10.4.1 and do not plan on upgrading that version.
This is what I had to do to access iTunes store with 10.4.11 (took all day for the downloads)
1. download & install iTunes 9.2.1 (101 MB)
2. download & install Quicktime 7.5.5 (61 MB)
3. message 'need to install Safari 4.0.3 or later' (and I never use Safari)
4. download Safari (26 MB)
5. Safari won't install without 'latest security update'
6. download latest security update 2009-005 (Intel) v. 1.0 (172 MB)
7. take a long walk
8. install security update and restart
9. install Safari and restart
And yes, now I can download music again from the iTunes store. I would have given up and gone with Amazon.com but mp3 downloads are only available to folk in USA, and I'm in Australia. -
Store won't accept payment method. Can't update apps
I can't update any of my apps. The itunes store says it can't verify my payPal payments and won't accept any changes I make in my profile. Itunes support told my to change my password and to clear everything in my profile and reenter it. Tried this but it hasn't worked. Any one else having this problem?
All good guys got it sorted! Turns out I was a few dollars in debt to apple! Cuz they no longer ask you for your password everytime you download something I got a few payed apps and they didn't check until now I guess!

Im a bit of a tech dummy and am trying to add a playlist to an iphone that is NOT synced with my itunes account, with ipod/ipad this is simple as I can manually manage content, however this feature doesn't work on iphone. I have a program installed which allows me to add to the iphone however I need to add directly from the itunes folder not within itunes. I have created a playlist in itunes to add to this device however I can not locate this folder in my itunes files!! I'm sure I am missing something simple here
iTunes playlists are stored within the library database iTunes Library.itl. Perhaps you need to create a m3u playlist for use with your other software. Right-click on the playlist name in the sidebar for export options.
Or use iTunes to manage the content on the device in the way that it is designed to.

ITunes store won't connect. I keep getting the "Accessing iTunes" when I try to connect.
I have been having a problem getting my iTunes to connect. It just stopped one day, no idea why. I have tried to fix this by uninstalling, and I have tried to fix it by going through my firewall. I have restored my programs, but that didn't work either. I looked on some Apple discussions and tried the wonsock restore and that didn't work. I read an article about winsock providers, but I am not computer literate enough to know what to do next.
Below is an image of what I get when I run autoruns.exe. I cannot uncheck or delete the non-Bonjour winsock programs, and I'm at a dead-end.

Ever since I got a new computer with windows 7 my itunes store would not open, so I couldn't buy anything and more importantly I couldn't get updates.
It claimed there was something wrong with my internet connection, but there's nothing wrong with the wifi connection.

It hasn't updated with ANY of the ios updates for my phone hasn't been updated in over a year.

If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go -

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings. -

What have you tried to fix it ? If you haven't already done so then see if any of the following fix it :
- log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in
- close the iTunes store app via the multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open it : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iTunes store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
- soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot. -
I can't connect to the iTunes store with my Apple TV. I can see what movies are on offer but when trying to access my account i am advised "Can't connect to server" (times out).
I have the same problem with my 3rd gen Apple TV. I can preview iTunes movies, stream from my Mac, Airplay from my other devices but I cannot rent a movie on iTunes. Every time I try I get "Can't connect to ITunes" and "Unable to sign in". Had technical support review the problem over the phone and they agreed to send me a new one. Same problem. Interestingly enough my 2nd gen Apple TV works just fine.
