Can not burn a playlist in iTunes 11.4 to a CD, upon completion of the burn operation get error message, "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The disc drive didn't respond properly and can't recover or retry." Receive this message using 2 different external drives that are Apple compatible. 1. is a Pioneer SuperDrive that I had replaced from a previous Mac in a OWC enclosure, 2. the other is a OWC 8X Slim Portable USB 2.0 External. After receiving the error message I can re-insert the disc into the drive and it will mount the disc and it will list all the songs with the correct size, but none of them will play. iTunes then comes up asking me if I want to import the CD, at this time iTunes has a (not responding) status in Finder. Can burn from finder with no problem, only have issue in iTunes.
Background
Last year I took the iMac to the local Apple Store 3 times and they determined the optical drive was defective and replaced it, the last time even replacing the cable to it. When I attempt to burn playlist from internal Superdrive it states it can not burn due to media errors. I have tried Memorex, TDK and PNY media with the same results. I thought purchasing the OWC Slim Portable USB 2.0 External would resolve the issue. If I put a commercial audio CD into the Internal Superdrive it will not mount and will eject it, if I insert the commercial audio CD into the external drive it will mount and play. Now the extended warranty is expired on the iMac and I don't know what next to try. After multiple attempts to both find an answer to this problem or to fix it myself I've given up and switched to a Windows PC. The same media works just fine at maximum write speed with no special tricks needed. I got my iMac specifically to manage my photographs and burn images for friends and family. It has been nothing but a big disappointment to say the least. To read messages saying I need to lower my write speed or buy more expensive CDs is just laughable. Unless I see something major change I'm sticking with my Windows PC.

I updated iphoto 9.4.3 and now it will not allow me to burn pictures on disc. I am recieving the follwing message:
The burn to the SuperDrive drive failed. The disc drive didn’t respond properly and can’t recover or retry.
I have tried to do a SMC Reset and PRAM reset and it still will not work. Before the update I was burning pics onto the same dics with no problem.
Any suggestions on what to do?

Hey I finally got an older vesion of itunes to work!!! 10.7 x64 for windows 7
After uninstalling all apple products even quicktime
I had to delete everything from (program files, and program files x64, program data,)
And all downloads from apple, and I went in to search deleted other stuff from apple, and itunes
But definently not my itunes library and Playlist
Down loaded 10.7 x64 for windows 7, but checked (do not start when done)
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
I ran geek tech tool box same as reg cure pro, also PC Tools registry cleaner, and CC Cleaner
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
And wallah... It finally works, and I Love the older version anyways.

Please help....I hate iTunes to begin with. Especially the latest they have come up with. Layout drives me crazy. And now....I find maybe a couple of songs in an album as "black" and the other titles are greyed out. What does this mean? I find it very frustrating as the black titles will repeat but the others seem to just disappear off the "play next" list. How can I fix this? And no...downloading from iCloud hasn't helped any.
This sounds like you have some unchecked tracks. These are skipped during track to track playback. The track names are slightly greyed out in the album view. You can normally see the check boxes from the Songs view or you can change the status via the rght-click context menu.

My iPad displays "iPad" in the top left corner. What does this mean?
My ipad display at the top left is ""ipad" vs ATT. What does this mean?
ok.. I've had the ipad 3 years and it has always displayed "zero to 5 bars ATT" or "no service" and recently "no sim"
It does display the fan when at home but not out of wifi range. -
On an older Mac I got this message while trying to burn a CD for the car: "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The burn failed because of a medium write error." What does this mean? And how do I work around it?
I had been getting this all morning and checked other messages from the community. THe one which worked was trying a different brand of disc.
I had been using Verbatim which had copied the music fine off the Real Player on my PC at school, but wouldn't work with I Tunes. Tried a Staples and an Office Depot CD-R , both of which did the job. -
I am getting an R6034 error when I attempt to download the latest version of iTunes. What does this mean?
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

When I attempt to install Itunes on Windows 7, I get the message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." What does this mean?
So many people are having this problem! Doehunter's instructions here worked for me! Hope this helps. https://discussions.apple.com/message/23824640#23824640

When I try to connect to a WiFi network that I need a screen pops up and says "The network you're attempting to join requires you to install a profile on your Apple TV." What does this mean?
Yes, home sharing requires both to be on the same wifi network. As it stands access to the network requires the login via webpage, which cannot be done on Apple TV. You will need to speak to IT in order to grant access for the device.

I keep getting this error code while trying to import a cd to my itunes: "Error occurred while converting the file. The disc you are attempting to use is full. removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space." What does this mean?
Well it probably means exactly what it says... How much free space is there on your hard drive where the iTunes Media folder resides? I believe there is also an obscure bug that can occur when software doesn't read the true value of the free space properly, and the workaround is, perversely, to duplicate some content so that with less actual free space the software in question perceives it as more. I've no idea if iTunes is affected by such a bug.
