What if I exceed in 1000 maximum cycle count in my MBA battery?

thanks for the concern and help

To add to Joey's excellent response, a quote from Apple's support website:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1519
"Batteries have a limited amount of charge cycles before they are considered to be consumed. Once consumed, a replacement battery is recommended. You can use your battery after it reaches its maximum cycle count, but you may notice a reduction in your battery life. Knowing how many charge cycles are on your battery and how many are left can help you determine when a battery replacement is required. For optimal performance, replace your battery when you reach the maximum cycle count."
The cycle count is just there to determine warranty eligibility; batteries past the maximum cycle count for that model are ineligible for free replacement, regardless of whether they are covered by AppleCare or hardware warranty.

I have a black early 2008 MacBook that now in its fourth year, and I have noticed that battery health have started to diminish.
I am wondering what is the maximum battery cycle count for the early 2008 black MacBooks, and if its time to replace it? (I have 250 cycle count, with 78% health remaining)

You can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay. Every MacBook from 2006 through Mid 2009 except the Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 and 2010 White Unibodies use the same A1185 battery.

The cycle count increases as you use your computer on battery power. It indicates how many times your battery has been completely ‘cycled’ or discharged and recharged. (You should never completely discharge the battery, that is use the computer until the battery is at 0%.) Normally when your battery is at 20% you’ll get a warning that you should plug the computer it. At about 10% you get a warning that you are on emergency power and shortly after that the computer will shut down automatically. That is what you want to avoid.
If you use the battery all day and have 25% left you have used 75% of a cycle. If you recharge it and the next day you run it until you have 75% left you’ve used 25% of a cycle. Between the two days you’ve used one cycle and the counter would increase by 1. After 1000 cycles your computer should still be able to hold 80% of its original charge.

  • Cycle Counting procedures in ECC 6.0

    HI all.,
SUB: Cycle counting in ECC 6.0 with WM implemented
    Ref : Industry : Apparel
What would be the differences in the cycle counting procedure working on Version 4.6C and ECC 6.0.?
In 4.6C , we normally change the indicators of A,B,C or D in OMCO and set the parameters of frequency of cycle counting , say yrly, half yearly, quarterly or monthly.
Would the cycle counting procedure be the same with ECC 6.0?
I understand that from Version 5.0, we can do cycle counting without freezing the book stock i.e have open transfer orders unlike in 4.6C wherein we have to stop GR or GI at the time of cycle count.
Is the procedure same in ECC 6.0 ?
Do educate further on the Cycle count procedure for ECC 6.0 with WM implemented for an AFS related industry.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Try this it worked for me though,
    1. Goto SPRO_ADMIN
    2. Select the Project
    3. Choose Change
    4. Go To Transport Requests TAB
    5. Activate CTS Functionality
    6. Save it after the Pop Up
    7. Go to Se10 and check if the Project Field is getting Populated with the Desired Project or not.

  • How to upload the Cycle Count Indicator from ERP into EWM

    Hello Gurus,
Can someone tell me what the transaction is to upload the Cycle Count Indicator from the ERP into EWM?  I am currently researching the cycle count functionality of EWM for a roll-out at our facility, and this information would be most helpful.
As I understand it, there are transactions for the Global Material Master Data upload, Storage Unit Type in the Palletization Data fields of the ERP (which seems to be translated as the SUT to Packing Material), and Unit of Measure management.  Also, judging by a document I found, the Cycle Count Indicator isn't uploaded in the Global Material Data, but I did see that the field has relevency in the EWM packing specifications.
Does this mean that the indicators must be uploaded through the "SUT to Packing Material" transaction (/SCWM/MIG_MAP_SUT)?
What if the Cycle Count Indicator should require a change?  Does the change have to be made in ERP and pushed to EWM, do they get updated separately, or is there a way to allow for automatic updating?
I hope the question doesn't seem too complex, but it is the only way I could drill down enough to get what I hope I need.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
You can do it using MASS TCode.

  • Cycle count verses full charge capacity.

My battery on my mackbook says to service battery. Now I know the cycle count is high but it seems to me that the full charge capacity is only about 50%. The macbook is about 2 years old but I would have thought I could have gone longer with the battery since the charge capacity is still pretty good. So, which is better to go off of, cycle count or full charge capacity, and from looking at the specs below does it appear as though I will need to buy a new battery? Thanks..
    Firmware Version: 002a
    Hardware Revision: 000a

    Condition: Check Battery
    Battery Installed: Yes

Nonsense. The battery will actually last longer if it gets used. If it never or is seldom used, then it will die an earlier death. I see nothing wrong with what you are doing.

  • Black macbook batter stays at 0% and will not charge. Only 138 cycle count

I have a black macbook I am giving to my son. It will not charge, and only has 138 on the cycle count. I have read discussions and tried updates recommended. I tried updating the SMC, and it said it was successful, but the numbers did not change (not positive it's supposed to). My info is below. This laptop has not been used very much. I do have snow leopard, if installing that might help. I have never had issues with this laptop, other than the internet getting slower. Not sure what else to try. Many Apple Discussions users, including me, purchase Mac items from Other World Computing ("OWC").
    On the web, they're www.macsales.com.
I recently purchased the appropriate NewerTech replacement battery for my 2007 white MacBook from OWC for about 25% less than the new cost from Apple, including shipping.
Of course, if you're in the vicinity of an Apple store or one of the major electronics chains that is an authorized Apple dealer, you can pick an 'original' for retail price. The Apple store is probably more likely to have a black battery to match your black MacBook.

  • MacBook Cycle count

    Hi everyone,
I purchased my MacBook in the Fall of 2007, and have been using it for many purposes including online games. I recently heard about the battery cycle count, and I was told mine was ridiculously high. Here is the information regarding my MacBook's battery:
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 371
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: Yes
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 5026
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 1455
    Condition: Normal
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): 2869
    Voltage (mV): 11556
Should I be concerned? Do I need to buy a new battery soon?
    Thank you!

Welcome to the forums. The cycle count on your battery is very high for a Lithium Polymer battery. Here is some advice for you when you have to replace your battery with a new one.
You do not need to discharge your battery completely every time you use it. Li-Ion Polymer batteries like
little charges instead of big ones. It is OK to leave your battery hooked to the charger most of the time.
The only time I unhook mine from the charger is when I calibrate or use it for a short time. You should calibrate your battery every two months, if you use it unplugged regularly, to keep the battery fully functioning. If you use your MacBook infrequently it ís best to calibrate the battery at least once a month.
A cycle,Determining Battery Cycle Count, is a full discharge and a full charge of the battery.
This can happen by using the battery for 20% for 5 days and charging each time you used the battery. This
would equal a 100% cycle. Charge the battery after each use, don't let it get lower just because you didn't
use up all the power at one time. Its best in little charges. Don't worry if every once in a while you have
to discharge completely when you are not near your power adapter. It happens. A little care and the battery
can last years. Anything over 300 cycles means you should start considering replacing your battery.

  • Cycle count (MICN) exceeded at year end

    Hi all,
i have alreay completed the cycle count  till 30 dec 2009 by using MICN.But whenever i started counting for 31st december 2009( end of 2009),it is giving me 1500 materials to count. But in real scenario, it should give arround 10 materilas to count.
Please tell me what i should do so that i can get actual cycle count for 31st dec 2009. Is this problem relating to year end problem? If so, what i should do to solve this issue.
    Thanks
    pabi

    Hi Syed,
Thanks for your reply. But i count the materials everyday.Maximum 10 materials come for cycle count everyday.
From 1st december to 30 december, i count every day & my cycle count is within 10.
But suddenly, when i put the date 31st december 2009, then cycle count is more than 1500 which is unexpected.
i came to know that, my manager has opened the calender year till 2011. Is it causing any problem?
or This is  year end problem & to solve this, i need to open 2010 financial year. Plz suggest what is the real problem & solution
    for this.
    Thanks

  • What does the field Inconsistent mean for ABC Analysis for Cycle Counting report

What does column "Inconsistent" mean for report ABC Analysis for Cycle Counting (T-code MIBC)?  The reason I'm asking is because I see TotalStock values greater than 0, but the Accounting 1 view for Material Master and MMBE both show zero stock.  I do not understand why TotalStock in the report does not show zero.  Can anyone explain how this can happen?
Note: the report is run for consumption/usage date range.
    Thank you,
    Doug

    Hi,
MBEW table and MMBE transaction will show the current stock. When you run MIBC report for consumption, the system considers the consumption for the date range given (from MVER table), which may not be equal to the current stock. Refer the KBA:  1817237 - Stock quantities and stock values in MIBC  which explains the system design.

  • Incoming message size exceeds the configured maximum size for protocol t3

    Hi All,
I've encountered an error as follow:
weblogic.socket.MaxMessageSizeExceededException: Incoming message of size 50004000 bytes exceeds the configured maximum of 50000000 bytes of protocol t3.
But the request message is only 3MB, why it is enlarged to over 50M?
There is a For Each loop section in main flow, is it because for one loop, there will be a copy of request message?
How to enlarge message size for protocol t3?
Go to server/protocol and change 'Maximum Message Size' for AdminServer, OSB Servers and SOA servers?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Bruce

    Hi,
    1) After setting -Dweblogic.MaxMessageSize to 25000000
    <BEA-000403> <IOException occurred on socket: Socket[addr=ac-sync-webserver1/172.24.128.8,port=9040,localport=36285]
weblogic.socket.MaxMessageSizeExceededException: Incoming message of size: '25002240' bytes exceeds the configured maximum of: '25000000' bytes for protocol: 't3'
    at weblogic.socket.BaseAbstractMuxableSocket.incrementBufferOffset(BaseAbstractMuxableSocket.java:174)
    2) After setting -Dweblogic.MaxMessageSize to 50000000
    <BEA-000403> <IOException occurred on socket: Socket[addr=ac-sync-webserver2/172.24.128.9,port=9040,localport=59925]
weblogic.socket.MaxMessageSizeExceededException: Incoming message of size: '50000400' bytes exceeds the configured maximum of: '50000000' bytes for protocol:
    't3'.
And even after setting various values for -Dweblogic.MaxMessageSize , issue weblogic.socket.MaxMessageSizeExceededException was observed.
To overcome the issue set Manual Service Migration Only as after several experiments and replicating the issue it was found out that in case of no available pinned services, must set the migration policies of the migratable targets on "Manual Service Migration Only".
And once it is corrected; it was noticed that weblogic.socket.MaxMessageSizeExceededException issue also resolved.
WebLogic Server can fail over most services transparently, but it's unable to do the same when dealing with pinned services.
Pinned Services : JMS and JTA are considered as pinned services. They're hosted on individual members of a cluster and not on all server instances.
You can have high availability only if the cluster can ensure that these pinned services are always running somewhere in the cluster.
When a WebLogic Server instance hosting these critical pinned services fails, WebLogic Server can't support their continuous availability and uses migration instead of failover to ensure that they are always available.
    Regards,
    Kal

  • HT201317 Is it possible to retrieve photos once the 30 days is up or once the photo stream exceeds the 1000 photo limit?

Is it possible to retrieve photos once the 30 days is up or once the photo stream exceeds the 1000 photo limit?

No.  Photo stream photos are not backed up so there is no way to restore them.  Only camera roll photos are backed up.
