What is ISA Control Number in EDI 856

Hi,
I'm doing mapping between DEVLRY01 idoc and 856 edi file.
regarding this i have a doubt on ISA Control Number ?
What ISA Control Number and how mapping can be done for this field on target side.
only thing i know about this ISA Control Number is it should of lenght 9 is it correct ?
can anybody give me suggestions about mapping and information regarding ISA Control Number?
Regards,
Sandeep.

Hi,
ISA controll number is a unique identification number. In general by writing some UDF we can generate this number.
Example code :
public String UniqNumber(String name,Container container)
String val;
Object obj = container.getGlobalContainer().getParameter(name);
if(obj == null)
            throw new RuntimeException ("Exception due to .....");
else {
value = obj.toString();
return val;
This code generates the unique control number.
We can give input to this is constant, this is generally the signal number, now in your case 856.

    Hi  to all,
    Please  tell me how to identify EDI control number
    1) purchase Order
    2) Or any else  some where

    Hi Vamsi,
    An IDOC is generated which will have control record, data record, and status record. You can display IDOC's using WE05/WE02.
    Document Number will be in Data Record under E1EDK01 segment (E1EDK01-BELNR).
    Hope this will help.

    Hi Prabu,
    If you want to decide between upgrade and extend, I guess you should go with extension. It wou;d be cost effective.

  • EDI Control Number Sequence

    Does anyone has an idea about how the Control Number sequence can be maintained for the partners while doing mapping in XI??? Is it possible in XI.

    Hi,
    write UDF like this
    public String CNumber(String val,Container container)
    String val; Object obj;
    obj = container.getGlobalContainer().getParameter(val);
    if(obj == null) throw new RuntimeException (" exc occur");
    else
      val = obj.toString();
    return val;
    Give any input then it generates some Unique control number. In general we can give the input as Signal nummbers(ex : 850 or 855 or .......)

  • What is message control?

    Hi all,
    What is message control? esp in Idocs..... Any docs links on Message control?
    Thanks,
    Charles.

    hi,
    Message control
    Application like PO(purchase order) creation use this technique , where the output type is linked to the application(Message control is a configurable cross application component which can be set in IMG .Such programs are created in the form of function modules and linked to the output type which is linked to the apllication.These have predefined interfaces.
    In outbound programs(function module) that use message control the key of the
    application document is passed to the function module whcig will read the data from the table depending upon the key passed(NAST structure) and fill the IDOC segemnts with the application data.The control record is also passed to the function module but is not fully filled, the rmaining fields are filled and the control is passed back to the calling program which is RSNASTED and is invoked by the
    message control to process ALE and EDI output types and this program on recieving the IDOC data will create the physical IDOC in the system.
    The parameteers passed to the function module are
    IMPORTING PARAMETERS
    OBJECT LIKE NAST
    It contains documents key.
    CONTROL_RECORD_IN LIKE EDIDC
    It contains the partailly filled control record
    EXPORETING PARAMETER
    OBJECT_TYPE
    CONTROL_RECORD_OUT LIKE EDIDC
    TABLES
    INT_EDID LIKE EDIDD
    The internal table used to fill the data records in the same order as they exists in
    the IDOC.
    The important parameters that should be filled in the custom function module are
    CONTROL_RECORD_OUT and INT_EDIDD .The OBJK field of the structue NAST contains the key of the apllication document.
    ===========================================
    Message control and output type. In R/3, message control is a mechanism by which documents are output based on certain selection criteria, requirements, and sequences. Message control determines the type of document, its timing, number, and medium (print, fax, ALE, or EDI.). Outbound messages in SD (Sales and Distribution) and MM (Materials Management, Purchasing) are created and processed by message control records. The output records are stored in the NAST table.
    Message control uses the condition technique. The conditions for creating an output message are stored in condition tables that have selection fields picked from a catalog of application fields/tables. To determine if an application document qualifies for output, search strategies are used through access sequences, output procedures, and requirements. Once a message qualifies for output, message control modules use the parameters set in the condition type or output type to determine the timing of transmission and the medium of the message. The output type also specifies the program or module to be invoked to create the output.
    Message/output determinations are concepts applicable not only to EDI and ALE, but also to other output mediums.

  • IDOC DELVRY05 TO EDI 856 - Mapping problem

    Hi all,
    i'm currently working on a outbound mapping with the delivery idoc (DELVRY05) and the EDI 856 (Advance Shipping Notice Definition)
    The problem is that i can't map the items for every pack in the structure because the ocurrency doesn't match.
    The EDI 856 has a segment called G_SHL (ocurrence 0.200000), that i replicated 4 times for shipping, order, pack and item data
    And this segment has a subsegment called  G_SHL/S_HL (ocurrence 0.1)

    As u see, all packs belong to "2 hierarchy" (order), and items to their correposding pack
    (has a comment, the "hierarchy number" is always given by a counter so u won't find the exact number again)
    so, the client wants us to create an structure that is like this..
    1º Pack
    1º item
    2º item
    2º Pack
    1º item
    2º item
    (the example has only one item, but they say that is going to be with many items)
    - The problem is that the structure data of the Idoc doesnt match EDI 856 structure
    E1EDL37 (0.99999)  -
    Pack data -
    G_SHL (0.200000)
    E1EDL37/E1EDL44 (0.99999) -
    Item data -
    G_SHL/HL (0.1) <====
    i was doing different G_SHL for pack and items but that leaves me with a wrong structure, and with all the hierarchy data wrong for items (since the mapping can't see which item belong to his pack)
    1º Pack
    2º Pack
    3º Pack
    1º Item
    2º Item
    3º Item
    - How can i map the structure Pack/item if in the idoc got too many item positions for only one EDI corresponding segment??
    Thanks in advance!

    Alains,
    We have the same tear, pack and item problem with one of our customer in one of my project. To acheive this result with the standard schema is not possible because this is a custom one.
    So I would suggest to change the schema in BIC like the occurrence and within the third G_SHL you should have S_HL and within this you should have a S_HL so that for every pack you will have multipe items.
    The bottom line is to have the schema as required by your mapping. Once you change the schema deploy the maps in J2EE and use them else it will throw an error in RWB.

    Hi,
    Thanks in advance.
    EDI 856 program was extracted from Oracle by passing the customer name as parameter, however one of the delivery number for that partcular customer was never made available for EDI to pick up to generate a flatfile.
    Can anyone please tell me the cause of missing the 856 data.

       Check with your team there can be some docs on the seeburger modules...
    which can be used for the same..
    basically you need to take care of generation of the no of segments as per your requirements ...but for the segment count..blah..
    some stuff will take care by seeburger..
    I dont have any documents regarding this....search SDN  you can find some..

  • Swap SSN and Control Number on W2

    Hi Guys!
    We have two different W2 forms in two different systems. I was wondering if there was a way to see if we could export the form from one system and import into another if in fact that will fix it. There are two fields on the w2 called 'box a control number' = personnel number and 'box d employee ssa number' = ssn. These come on the standard form in that order. It appears a changes was made where these two fields were switched: box d employee ssa number shows where box a is and box a shows where box d used to be. Would you have any idea on what configuration needs to be done to the form to switch these again so all the systems use the correct form?
    Thanks!
    Paolo Miguel

    Hello Paolo,
    Do you have the same form in both system? Or do you have a Z copy of the standard? If you are using the standard you can compare the both forms using transaction SFP to check the fields order.
    Hopefully this helps.
    Kind regards,
    Graziela

  • What is the maximum number of line items we can enter in an order...

    Hi,
       Can anyone explain what is the max number of line items that v can enter in an order....
    or if i want to increase the number of line items than the max where it is controlled.
    Because my mm counter part is facing this in the PO he could make only 9999,the problem is when posting...the accounting document is not getting generated bcas of exceeding the limit.
    venugopal

    hi,
    this is my personal experiance that we can enter at the most 499 line items in SALES ORDER.
    This is because for every line item there will be 2 financial entries, debit and credit. and 1 FI document can have at the most 999 line items (which we can not increase without KEY fromSAP)
    If we divide 999 by 2 then it comes to 499.50 so you can enter at the most 499 line items in Sales order.

  • What is the maximun number of front panel objects in LabVIEW 7

    I need to know what is the maximun number of indicators in a panel control, LabVIEW 7.0

    According to the post here the 555 limit in LabVIEW 6.1 is no longer in 7.0 but I don't know if there's a much higher limit or if you limited only by the amount of memory in the computer. How many do you have? By using clusters and arrays, you should be able to dramtically reduce the number. You might also want to think about moving seldom used indicators to subVIs that pop-up on demand.

  • What is the max number of WLANs in a WLC?

    We are going to deploy centralized wireless with WiSM WLCs in our datacenter controlling LAP for all our locations (around 600 locations). We would need to create a common WLAN for all locations but also, we need to create unique WLANs at each location so that we can control access to user groups (users from location A cannot log on to unique WLAN at location B).
    My question is: what is the maximum number of WLANs I can create in a WLC?
    Even though controllers will have 150 AP (maximum) we want to implement n + 1 redundancy, thus, back up controllers would need all 600+ WLANs configured. Is this possible?
    Is there a better way to accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    E

    Hi George, Thanks for your quick response.
    1)     All our locations are in the same metropolitan area and are connected through 1G fiber links. (School Board)
    2)     Some locations are smaller than others, so the number of APs will vary. I guess we will have 4 to 30 APs per site.
    I read documentation about HREAP and did some tests in our lab. At the beginning it looked like this was the way to go for us but we found out that to enable roaming on HREAP we needed to create groups and the number of HREAP groups per controller is very low (I think it was 20), this made us discard the idea.
    Any other suggestion?

  • Recordable Volume Change Control Number?

    Does any one know the midi control number that Garageband 09 uses to record volume changes on a software instrument track?
    I'm not talking about the standard Midi control number 7 for volume - this only controls the left-right fader in the track header and Garageband does not record volume changes to this fader.
    There's a value from 1 to 127 that will record volume changes as a part of the track itself. Does anyone know what that number is? Or does anyone have the table for all the control numbers that Garageband uses, or can anyone provide a link to such a table of such control numbers?
    Thanks.
