  • Importing business area and then using workbook file

I need to use a workbook that was created by another user and saved as an external file.
They exported their business area and sent it to me with the workbook.
When I tried to open the workbook after sucessfully importing the business area I could not find the imported business area and the components that go with it and their was no way to browse to find them.
Can anyone help me with this problem.
    Thanks.

If you want to use an external workbook that was saved to the desktop. You choose open and then click the icon with the label computer underneath.
If the components in your business area are not the same as the ones where the workbook was created you will be given the option to substitute values to match what is in the workbook with what is in the business area.
When you choose this option however, it displays only the first three business areas you have access to. There is an up and down arrow but no scroll bar implying that these are all the options. However usual windows practice did not apply and the ommitted scroll bar did not mean that all the list was displayed, clicking the down arrow would uncover more business areas.
When I finished sustituting the variables I still got a join error. It was taking too much time so I got username and password of the account where the workbook was created.

  • What is meant by an Activity in Business One

    Hi All,
What is meant by an Activity in Business One.I studied it in Business One Help, but it is not much helpful.I want a brief description regarding Activities(help me by taking an example).Where this activity used(only in Sales Opportunities and Service modules).
Help me regarding this or send me the related links that suit to my Question
    Thanks & Regards,
    Saleem

Maybe I don't understand your question, but I think this is no a SDK issue.
An activity can be a call, a meeting, a task, any interaction with a customer that you want to keep record.
So, lets say you have a sales opprotunity, and in the first meeting you came up with a follow up meeting. Then, you open the sales opportunity in SAP, and add an activity for that opportunity, detailing when, where is the meeting, who will go,what do you have to show, etc. You can set a reminder so you don't miss this meeting.
    Hope this helps

  • What is the impact of business area and cost center in the sales document

    Hi all
I have small doubt regarding what is the impact of bussiness area and cost center in the sales document... what is the uses of these (bussiness area, cost center) is help full for sd module
    can any one reply plz....
    Thanking you

    Hi,
Business Area determines where the revenue should be allocated when you sell a material or a service.
For eg: If your customer is in say Mumbai and he is ordering for a service in Delhi (say DIAL - Delhi International Airport Limited) then based on the terminology.
Your customer would belong to B Basis Business Area - WHERE THE REVENUE IS COMING FROM or WHERE YOUR CUSTOMER BELONGS TO (SALES OFFICE).
Whereas your DIAL sales will belong to A Basis Business Area - WHERE THE REVENUE IS GOING TO.
Cost Center would determine where your allocate your cost to.
Say Rounding Off can be used as a cost element, because some sort of revenue is lost when figures are roudned off..
    Hope it clarifies your doubt.

  • What is a business area???

    hi experts
explain me wat is a business area.
    thanks
    Neha

    Hi Neha
    Financial Accounting (FI)
Organizational unit of financial accounting that represents a separate area of operations or responsibilities within an organization and to which value changes recorded in Financial Accounting can be allocated.
Business areas are used in external segment reporting (over and above company codes) based on the significant areas of operation (for example, product lines) of a business enterprise. A segment is an isolated area of activity.
All essential balance sheet items, such as fixed assets, receivables, payables, and inventories, and all items of the profit and loss statement can be assigned directly to a business area. The balance sheet items for banks, capital, and taxes, however, cannot be directly assigned to business areas. They need to be assigned manually. This means that business area financial statements cannot be drawn up for commercial and tax law. Business area balance sheets and income statements are used only for internal reporting purposes.
The system determines the appropriate business area from information such as the material, plant, or cost center you enter in a business transaction like a goods movement. Assignments you make (between cost centers and business areas for example) or the combination of information you specify (a plant and a particular division for example) are the basis on which the system determines the appropriate business area.

  • What is meant by noted items

    hi all,
can any one explain me what is meant by noted items incase of G/l ,AR & AP. as i found this word in FBL3N ,FBL1N & FBL5N also?
    thanks in advance...
    regds,
    raman

    Hi,
Unlike manual accounting, you  can make certain transaction in SAP which don't have a impact on accounting but are necessary for dicision making or related to any future transactions. These are called Noted items. Noted items are only posted to one side of accounting.
Eg: If we send a request to customer for down payment, it is not a business transations and have no impact on accounting, but we can pass a entry in SAP for such transaction and it will be a noted item. When actual down payment is received, this noted item is cleared.

  • Business Area and transaction FF67

    Good day SAP Experts
If we did activate Business Areas, how should I process banking transactions with code FF67.
What we are doing now, is to process the batch in the foreground and enter (populate) the Business Area field.  If the bank statement is having a lot of transactions, then this become too much.
Is there any suggestion on how to enter this efficiently.
    Thanking you
    Theo

    Thanks
Actually what I meant is that we do process FF65 and as you suggest via SM35 (foreground) and input Business Area in the BA field.  Is there no other easier solution.
    Thanking you once more

  • Business Area Clearing considering Prior year transactions why?

    HI SAP Experts,
I have a problem in Business Area Clearing with one of our client. After running Business Area clearing in F.5E. I went and checked the log in F.5F.
I found that the system is considering Prior Year transactions also, though they run the Business Area clearing every month.
What could be the problem? Where it went wrong?
Can anyone guide me on this!!
    Thanks & Regards
    Omprakash RA

    HI
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
But what I meant to say here is it is considering all the prior year transactions for the clearing.
    Hope I'm clear now.
    Thanks

    Hi Charan,

  • What is meant by functun module

    Hi Gurus,
Can you please explain me what is meant by function modue and importance of this?
    Thanks in advance
    venkat

    Hi Venkat,
Your question is not clear as to whether you want to about function module in ABAP or a Functional module. Anyway..........pls find answer for both below -
    <b>ABAP function module</b> -
Function modules are procedures that are defined in special ABAP programs only, so-called function groups, but can be called from all ABAP programs. Function groups act as containers for function modules that logically belong together. You create function groups and function modules in the ABAP Workbench using the Function Builder.
Function modules allow you to encapsulate and reuse global functions in the SAP System. They are managed in a central function library. The SAP System contains several predefined functions modules that can be called from any ABAP program. Function modules also play an important role during updating  and in interaction between different SAP systems, or between SAP systems and remote systems through remote communications.
    <b>SAP Functional Module -</b>
SAP functional module represents each functional area of an organisation. Each module helps in mapping respective business processes into SAP. The following is the broad bifurcation of Functional Modules -
    ACCOUNTING -  FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING Module
LOGISTICS - SALES AND DISTRIBUTION Module, MATERIALS MANAGEMENT Module, QUALITY MANAGEMENT Module, PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL Module
    PLANT MAINTENANCE Module
    PROJECT SYSTEM Module
HUMAN RESOURCES - HUMAN RESOURCE Module

  • What is meant by plant stock

    Hi Guys
What is meant by plant stock?
What business scenario we can say a stock as pant stock?
Is there any scenario that we can call a stock as non-plant stock?
    Thanks in Advance.

The reason SAP uses the term plant stock is because, under special scenarios the stock is not stored at storage location level (MM-IM) or at Bin Level (WM) but at plant level
The scenarios are when the stock is sent to sub-contractor, consignment stock at your customer etc.
Hope the above gives you a better picture, revert if you need additional info.
