What is Road map Analysis, Issue tracking,, Monitoring, Reporting?

Hi
Friends
what is Road map Analysis, Issue tracking,, Monitoring, Reporting?
can any one clear my doubts in detail full points will be given

Dear Venkat,
Your questions are very high level questions.
Roadmap Analysis: This term is generally used in SAP Implementation where we compare the project status with the SAP roadmap. Generally in ASAP Roadmap, we have SAP specified standard deliverables, and there can be custom deliverables as per the client's requirements. If we need to do an analysis of custom deliverables viz standard deliverables or standard roadmap viz custom roadmap, we call it as roadmap analysis.
Issue Tracking: Very broad level term - can be in Implementation as well as support projects. Issues are either support problems or implementation problems which are documented and recorded for solutioning and approval. These are generally steering committee terms used in a project.
Monitoring: Again a broad level term. Any watch process can be termed as monitoring. Eg: Monitoring of Backup; Monitoring of System health check etc.
Reporting: Again a broad level term. It is the same as defined in the english dictionary. Nothing related to any process in SAP with technical solution in mind.

  • Can one avoid names to be listed in packaged applications (issue tracker, for example)?

I've installed the packaged app "Issue tracker" in a workspace, but now have a problem with German's law (and maybe others), which does not allow people to make reports that explicitely mention names of employees, except if you are their manager.
So the issue tracker's reports, which can be used by anybody and display assignees' names, are not allowed by German's law !
I guess that all packaged apps have the same users control mechanism. If so, this issue is not specific to the issue tracker. Is that right?
To make the issue tracker compliant with German's law, one should be able to hide names or ideally to make them only visible by the employee's management.
    Hide name would imply:
    - Remove the updaters' name in the projects/issues
    - Remove assignees' name in the projects/issues/reports
I guess this could be done via a plugin "display names" in the "build options".
Make names only visible to managers would imply:
    - Assign a manager to each user
    - Adapt the display depending on the identity of the user
Does this make sense? If so, I guess I should add an entry in Oracle Application Express Feature Requests, right?
    TIA for your feedback,
    Stefane

  • What is the road map to start XI

    HI Frnds,
Me previously worked on Datawarehousing.Datastage(ETL tool). Now I shifted to XI 4months back.In my company they given a warm up training on XI and some basic scenarios. Now they directly kept me at one interface(project).Ok Iam doing good there.
But what my question is ,what is the actual road map to start the XI like from SLD or Adapter or from Mapping what is the step-by-step learning and what are the essential things I have to know as a SAP XI consultant. And am I want to learn SAP functional to stay at SAP for long run.
So what are the things I have to learn and what are the essentials to be need to stay in SAP XI space for long run?

    hi,
<i>But what my question is ,what is the actual road map to start the XI like from SLD or Adapter or from Mapping what is the step-by-step learning and what are the essential things I have to know as a SAP XI consultant</i>
You need to know all of these to become an XI consultatnt in a true sense.
If you ask me , the best way would be to begin by understanding XI architecutre, and then moving on to simple FILE to File scenarios, and then a few complicated ones. After getting a grasp of how XI works, maybe you can visit SLD concepts and understand internally what is happening in XI.
Meanwhile,Following are the links to weblogs which will help to develop the basic scenarios.

  • Road Map Step Label Changes Issue

    Hi Gurus,
I am working for ESS business package. I have changes FPM application to read Edit as "Display" for Road map step. I have tested it and transported it to test system.
The changes were working fine till yesterday; today when i tries to test the application the road map step is reverted back to read as Edit not Display. I do not find any one changed the FPM application.
    what would be the reason.
my observations are like; I had some changes in some component and deployed it and have transported NWDI transports to Test system. i suspect this transports have changed the FPM application.
Please suggest me on this issue,.
    Points will be awarded..
    Thanks
    Srikanth

    Hi Srikanth,
    the short answer
You modified the FPM application from within the portal, using the Self-Service Administrator portal role, right? The point is that this content is also contained in the SAP_ESS SC in NWDI. It's contained in all those cfg DCs you see. They basically contain a (zip)archive that contains other (zip)archives that contain different XML files that eventually describe the FPM application. So what happened is that you modified the FPM application at runtime, but your changes were overwritten when the cfg DC was deployed afterwards.
    the details... and the questions...
Concerning those cfg DCs. They're a very specific type of DC. The type is "Enterprise Portal" and the subtype is "Portal Content". In NWDS, this is described in the following XML file: C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.ide.eclipse.component.provider_2.0.0\componentTypes.xml When I was using NWDS 7.0 SP12, this particular type of DC was not visible (if I remember it correctly), i.e. I could not create a new DC of this type. NWDS SP12 also didn't contain the necessary plugin, com.sap.portal.pcd.ide.eclipse.nwdi.ui.NewPortalContentWizard, as described in the same XML file (or at least I couldn't find it). Since I installed NWDS SP14, the plugin is present and I can create this type of DC myself. But that doesn't help me that much, since the wizard just creates some empty DC and I don't have a clue how to populate it with the content of the FPM application. Unfortunately I also don't have a clue about how to modify the existing cfg DCs in SAP_ESS.
BTW, the change you made, a small textual change, is relatively easy to do: unzip the archive(s) in the cfg DC, modify the text in one of the XML files (for some reason the translation of the roadmap steps are present 4 times, if my memory doesn't fail on me) and zip everything again. This works fine for me.
    the $1 million question...
Obviously, what I really like to know: how to modify the FPM applications on the portal using the Self-Service Administrator role (that's easy) and export it to a suitable archive that can be imported in the (SAP_ESS) cfg DCs? As long as this is not possible, meaning I don't have a clue how to do it, I'm forced to deploy the modified FPM applications, which I exported as an epa file, after each NWDI transport. And this is not very practical...
I hope my (probably a bit too complex) explanation makes any sense.
If someone else knows more about this subject or how to deal with it, please let us know. tnx!
    Kind regards,
    /Sigiswald

  • Solman Road Map Issue

    Good Day,
I have created the new Roadmap using the RMDEF/RMAUTH  and i want to use that Roadmap in one of my Projects in Solution Manager.I have selected the Same Roadmap in Scope of the Project in (Project Administration),But the Structure or Hierarchy which i Created in Roadmap is not showing in the Project.
Can someone help me with that or if you guys can tell me how to Upload the New Road map in Solman Correctly.
Thanks and waiting for a Positive Response.

    Hi
If you are talking about creation of structure in solar01 then it has to be done in solar01 only via the Structure tab
If  you press F4 and choose the Business Process Repository and you can select all the Business Scenario like Procure to Pay etc which are to be used in you project here
for non sap scenario directly edit or write it ant then save.
    you can check below link

  • Discoverer Road Map

I am currently evaluating oracle BI products for my company.
Having looked at BI Beans and Discoverer it seems that they use different metadata definitions (MDD). BIB use Oracle OLAP who's MDD is defined using OEM (v1) or the CWM2_ packages (v2) whereas Discoverer uses its Administrator client tool to define its MDD the End User Layer.
So, as things stand, it looks as though two MDDs are required. Is this correct? If so, what is the road map going forward? In particular, will the technologies converge? at least as far as MDDs are concerned.
Thanks in advance for your intput.

The upcoming release of Discoverer, which will be available with Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 will support query and analysis on relational data and OLAP data.
When you create the multidimensional structures in Oracle OLAP, you use the OLAP Catalog. All tools and applications use this, including Discoverer. Discoverer does not require any extra work to utilize the Oracle OLAP option.
As always, Discoverer allows you to create a business meta-layer to protect end users from the complexity of the database. This is the End User Layer, and is used for Relational data.
Discoverer Plus (to create queries, analyze, drill down, format, etc) and Discoverer Viewer (analyze, drill down, format) can both drill down, and will support drill to detail, including drill from OLAP to Relational.
The 10.1.2 version will also have powerful customization functionality through Portal, which means one worksheet can satisfy many many users. For example... three people authenticate to Portal and all see the same Discoverer portlet. One of them changes the graph to a pie, the second drills on something to another level and the third person changes the layout and add some conditional formating. Each saves their changes back to the Portal. The next time each logs in, they see their own changed version of the portlet, not the original.

  • Europe Road Maps

I don't suppose there are any eBooks that are good quality road maps of European countries like those provided by Michelin. Because most of my iPad use will be off line (in the car) I cannot rely on maps requiring an Internet connection. I have a 3G iPad pre-ordered so can't browse the Apple bookstore myself. Would be a cool use, if available.

    Hi Bill,
Yes, that's my intended approach. This year will be the first time I try it.
Sim's are easy to cut, at least with a decent pair of scissors. The risk is making sure you don't cut into the etched area. That's an issue of cutting in a straight line. If I mess up, I'll go back to the TIM shop and ask for another one. They may charge €5 for another one or may give me one on the house, depending on how much interest they have in the iPad. There's a margin of error around the etched area. I trimmed a sim years ago as it was a bit too big for my phone. It was a snap. Not the major trim a microsim requires but follow a line and it should be ok. For a template, I'll use the adaptor card, print out a few copies of the template and maybe pack a bit of 2-sided tape. Again, this will be a first time for me.
As with any wireless option, there are tons of prepaid plans. What we normally do for the phone is a €3/week plan that gives us unlimited calls in Italy and free incoming calls and sms (don't recall the cost per sms, minor). We sms out of the country and ask people to call us back. We're always with friends so being able to call within Italy is important for us. We usually do 3 or 4 countries so we get a country card for each one as the multi-country cards can get expensive.
We've never done data but every plan I've looked in a few European countries is €25 to €40 for a month. The TIM offer I know of charges €9 for a month, 100 hours data and €2/hour if I go over the 100 hour limit. To add a voice option to it is probably not much cost but I don't know. There are frequently no activation fees. If there are, they're not much, <€10. For me this is fine for email and a few needed web searches.
I also hope the MotionX gps is out by the time I leave in July. Its supposed to be out with the introduction of the 3G model.
I hope this will do it as it's about all I know at the moment. We are both in unchartered territory.

  • What is the best approach to track deleted records

    Dear all,
We have build a CMS platform which is based on SQL server 2012 tables structure hosted in Azure.
We have build on top of this some REST API method in order to access data from any type of client application.
The issues we need to solved now is what his the best way to track deleted records in order that client application gets informed through web service about deleted data from our CMS.
We were thinking of 2 path actually :
    - having a kind of Ghost table for each of our real table where deleted records will be inserted into ( physical delete ). This would mean adding as many Ghost tables as we have production tables
    - Adding a IsDeleted flag to each of our table which will be set to true when a record is deleted from our CMS ( logical delete ). This would means adding an IsDelete field to each of our tables, create and update all our store procedure and web services
in order to taken in account that new filter criteria to fetch our records. Quite huge job
Will there be any other approach ?
We are looking the best solution with minimum impact on our current solution
    reagards
Your knowledge is enhanced by that of others.

    Hello,
    @Tom, based on your question
"The question would be what do you need to do with the deleted records and how long do you need to keep them?"
When records is deleted, then I simply want to delete them and informed any client application about deleted items in order to get data in Sync. I will not have any reporting on deleted data !
The only reason of tracking delete tables items, is simply to informed client application through web service sync about the data to be ignored. Client application have a caching database records for performance reason and is is require to not used data
from that local storage which has been reported as deleted by the SQL server on Aure.
    Does this make sense ?
    regards

  • How to send e-mail from issue tracker if i have more than 1 task?

I have a problem with issues tracker and in my form i have 4
    Assigned to Fields.
I want these fields notifications to be acknowledge by a different person and that is submitted to these person.
How can i make this happen?

    Hi,
To send email per list fields or someone specific, you could associate a workflow to this list, and add Send an Email action in the workflow.
If this is not what you really mean, please provide more explanation about your requirement? I’m not quite sure about:
“I want these fields notifications to be acknowledge by a different person and that is submitted to these person.”

  • High Watermark issue with monitoring Service Manager 2012 R2

    Hi,
Our customer has a Service Manager / Operations Manager 2012 R2 environment where SCOM will regularly generate an alarm related to High Watermark monitoring on the Service Manager data warehouse - not every day though. The alarm looks like this:
Value of 3559 is not higher than 3559
This value hasn't changed for weeks.
Having done a lot of searching we have found nothing but reference to the same recurring flow of information where people keep mentioning different values but there is no conclusion of what this might be caused by and how to solve it. The solutions
have become outdated anyway. Here is one example:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/systemcenter/en-US/889af8f3-cdf8-4d88-ae99-5dbe18d529ef/service-manager-2012-data-warehouse-high-watermark-monitor
The Service Manager Database Account in SCOM is our service account that has sysadmin in SQL. Basically, with regards to the security configuration, our customer should be covered.
To my knowledge agent-based and agentless monitoring have both been supported since SCSM 2012 SP1. Also, we have the latest management pack for Service Manager monitoring in SCOM, at the moment this should be
    7.5.3079.0.
As mentioned above the value has not been changing for quite some time and nor has it in the database.
    My questions are the following:
    - Is there anyone that has found a solution in the meantime, especially with regards to R2?
    - What is the purpose of High Watermark monitoring for the data warehouse? Why does this need to be monitored?
    - We would like to understand the nature of this value better. Should it be higher each day compared to the day before?
    - Could it just be overriden in SCOM?
    Many thanks in advance!

Rather unexpectedly, the SCOM alarm disappeared overnight and when checking the workflow in the incident that was generated from the alarm, the incident got a Resolved status right before midnight at 23:59:58. We have a ConfigMgr connector that is scheduled
to run at 23:00 which we had disabled a day ago to check something else. But I don't think it had anything to do with this. As the alarm has disappeared from the SCOM console, we have also checked the registry values. Now, instead of "3559 3559 3559"
it says "3559 3559 3585". We have had the 3559 value since 18th July, and out of a sudden something must have been triggered, causing the value to increase. What was triggered and how, no idea... Not sure either what it means that only one of the
Three numbers have been updated with a new value. When talking about the DW jobs, using the SMlets we can see every day that, MPSync, DWMaintenance and the ETL jobs are working well. What we have had though for a longer time is that the cube processing
tends to have issues once a week, where processing won't finish and the cubes get hanging in a running state. We can fix that manually every time and often we don't even have to touch DWMaintenance or the ETL jobs, we don't need to go beyond manually
working with the cube processing jobs themselves. So it might not have an impact on the ETL jobs themselves. Occasionally we do find ourselves in a situation where we we need to play around in the SQL database and manually set the required value (can't
recall if it's 3, 6 or 7) cause we get an error in the DWMaintenance batch, but even though that's an occasional issue it's not constant and also something we can solve, and furthermore it's another known issue outside of the high watermark issue. So
we are a bit uncertain but can at least see that something works sometimes that sometimes increases the high watermark value :). In our case.

  • Issue Tracker app closing the browser window on chart page

    Hi!
I am walking through the Issue tracker tutorial. I have created page 10 (Issues Resolved by Month) which is the chart page. Everything looked fine until I try to run the page. Then it simply closed the browser window after it authenticates me. Anyone else see this? Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Probably a problem with your SVG viewer installation. Does it happen on other chart pages as well? What browser/svg viewer version combination are you using? There are some known issues with what's labeled as the current svg viewer on Adobe's website and Firefox.
