What is SAP AOTO-ID Infrastructure?

hi to all,
im new to RFID , i wld like to know abt wat is SAP-AUTO-ID Infrastruture?
fine ans will be appriciated .
with regards rajesh.

HI rajesh,
SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure (SAP AII) gives enterprises the capabilities they need to integrate all automated communication and sensing devices u2013 including radio frequency identification (RFID) readers and printers, Bluetooth devices, embedded systems, and bar-code devices. SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure also integrates intelligent controls such as programmable language controls and Savant technologies, ensuring comprehensive device integration. SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure senses and controls automated signals in real-time.
It connects directly with business processes requiring signal data to drive faster and better business decisions. One of the first applications of SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure is the integration of RFID technology with supply chain processes.
Also Check this out...It might be good for a basic understanding

  • What is "SAP Best Practices Baseline Versions"?

Could you help explain what is the relationship between "SAP Best Practices Baseline Versions " and
    other SAP products?
    Thanks!

1)SAP Best Practices Baseline Versions will deliver preconfigured organizational settings for different scenarios with regard to the following areas: common organizational structures, logistic organizational structures, and intercompany organizational structures. these can be implemented on any of the component based on the platform availability, and cannot be directly used. For example with out installing an SAP sysetm you cannot implement baseline versions. So the relation would be Component or Product is primarily available to use the secondary component i.e Baseline versions on it.
The SAP Best Practices Baseline Package is available in different country versions (for example, for France, Nordics, Germany,
the United States, and the U.K.). The scope of these localized versions might differ depending on country-specific needs. Please check this link: http://www.sap.com/services/pdf/BWP_SAP_Best_Practices_for_Baseline_Package.pdf
    2)The other products are
    Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
    Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
    Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
    Supply Chain Management (SCM)
    Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
The SAP NetWeaver technology platform enables the composition, provisioning, and management of SAP and non-SAP applications across a heterogeneous software environment (release version from 640 to 700 and above)  Prior to the introduction of SAP NetWeaver as an integrated technology platform, SAP has developed a number of integration technologies and offered them as individual products, among them for example SAP Enterprise Portal, or SAP Exchange Infrastructure.

  • What is  SAP XI  & PO MESSAGE TYPE

    DEAR ALL
    HAPPY NEW YEAR
I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS SAP. XI
WHAT IS MEAN BY P.O. MESSAGE  TYPE
    THANKS IN ADVANCE
    VIVEK

    hi
SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) enables you to implement cross-system processes. It enables you to connect systems from different vendors (non-SAP and SAP) in different versions and implemented in different programming languages (Java, ABAP, and so on) to each other. SAP Exchange Infrastructure is based on an open architecture, uses open standards (in particular those from the XML and Java environments) and offers those services that are essential in a heterogeneous and complex system landscape:
    ●     Modeling and design of messages, transformations, and cross-component integration processes
    ●     Configuration options for managing collaborative processes and message flow
    ●     Runtime for message and process management
    ●     Adapter Engine for integrating heterogeneous system components
    ●     Central monitoring for monitoring message flow and processes
SAP XI supports internal company scenarios and cross-company scenarios.

    >>>What is SAP
SAP stands for Systems Applications and Products. With such an acronym, you can easily guess that SAP makes business software and in fact it is the top business software maker.
SAP's products focus on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), which it helped to pioneer. The company's main product is mySAP ERP. The name of its predecessor, SAP R/3 gives a clue to its functionality: the "R" stands for realtime data processing and the number 3 relates to a 3-tier architecture: database, application server and client (SAPgui). R/2, which ran on a Mainframe architecture, was the first SAP version.
Other major product offerings include Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO), Business Information Warehouse (BW), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Exchange Infrastructure (XI), Enterprise Portal (EP) and SAP Knowledge Warehouse (KW).
The APO name has been retired and rolled into SCM. The BW name (Business Warehouse) has now been rolled into the SAP NetWeaver BI (Business Intelligence) suite and functions as the reporting module.
The company also offers a new technology platform, named SAP NetWeaver which replaces SAP Business Connector for Integration/middleware capabilities [4] and offers a systematic approach to Enterprise SOA solutions with a collection of products. While its original products are typically used by Fortune 500 companies, SAP is now also actively targeting small and medium sized enterprises (SME) with its SAP Business One and SAP All-in-One.
SAP officials say there are over 100,600 SAP installations serving more than 38,000 companies in more than 120 countries, which are used by more than 12 million people in more than 120 countries[citation needed].
SAP holds a partnership with Hewlett-Packard. This partnership will expand around new services linked to NetWeaver and Enterprise SOA (service-oriented architecture). The software infrastructure for business applications developed by SAP is to be upgraded by Hewlett-Packard. One of the services to be upgraded is the Discovery System which was launched by SAP earlier this year. Among other services there are assessment, government and architecture for R3.[5]

  • What is Sap Mobile ? Is Java knowledge is must?

    Hi,
Iam an Abap consultant and I want to know what is Sap Mobile and in what way it is linked to Abap.
Is Java knowledge is must to know/learn Sap Mobile.
An  Abper can handle the Sap mobile or not ?
    thanks .
    sam.

    Dear sam,
The main aim of MI (Mobile infrastructure) is to retreive the latest data in the backend to the  MI client (which is insalled on the mobile device like laptops, PDA etc.)and update the backend with the data created on MI client in the field.
The SAP Mobile Infrastructure has to be installed on the MI Client.
    HELPFUL TO START WITH MI:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a7/893a5889e08b41b615688b1a93b559/frameset.htm
It is required to have knowledge in JAVA .
There are three versions of SAP Mobile Infrastructure available currently:
SAP MI 2.5, SAP MI 7.0 and SAP MI 7.1 .
MI 2.5 and MI 7.0 client installed on the mobile device is connected to MI server with the help of HTTPS connection and MI server is connected to Backend system with the help of RFC connection.
From SAP MI 2.5 SP18(New technology) onwards, in the middleware (MI server) you have both JAVA and ABAP stack.
An Abaper should be able to handle the Sap Mobile Infrastructure.
    Hope this helps you.
    Best Regards,
    Sapna

  • What's SAP Router String for?

    Hi,
I can not find proper module for me to post this message, so I post it here.
When we create a new item in the SAP logon screen , we need to specify the following parameters:
    1) System description
    2) Message server
    3) SAP Router String (optional)
    4) System ID
    5) System Number
    4) Group
My question is, what's SAP router string for? How to define a new SAP router string?
Because sometimes we don't need to input SAP router string, and we can still logon to the system successfully.
So, If I need to create a new SAP router string, where to define?
    Thanks.

    Hi
A route string describes the stations of a connection required between two hosts. A route string has the syntax
    (/H/host/S/service/W/pass)*
It consists of any number of substrings in the form /H/host/S/service/W/pass .
A route string contains a substring for each SAProuter and for the target server.
Each substring contains the information required by SAProuter to set up a connection in the route: the host name, the port name, and the password, if one was given.
    Syntax for substrings:
    ·        /H / indicates the host name‑{}‑
Note that the host name must be at least two characters long.
    ·        /S/ is used for specifying the service (port); it is an optional entry, the default value is 3299
    ·        /W/ indicates the password for the connection between the predecessor and successor on the route and is also optional (default is u201Cu201D, no password)
In earlier Releases (<4.0A), the password entry was made one substring later and with the letter /P/.
    New: /H/saprouter/W/pass/H/targetserver
    Old: /H/saprouter/H/targetserver/P/pass
(Here pass is the password which is checked by the SAProuter on host saprouter to set up or prohibit the connection from the source host to the target host.)
Due to downward compatibility, the old password entry form is still possible.
    Thenaks & Regards

  • What is SAP HANA DXC ???

    Hi SAP HANA Experts,
Can anyone you tell me what is SAP HANA DXC ???
Is it a Add-On Or inbuilt software component available with SAP HANA DB Package Itself
Do we need to download the SAP HANA DXC individually ???
What is the path of the DXC Software component in SMP to view it

    Hello guy,
The SAP HANA Direct Extractor Connection (DXC) is a means for providing out-of-the-box foundational data models to SAP HANA, which are based on SAP Business Suite entities. (No add-on need to be installed). DXC is also a data acquisition method for SAP HANA. With DXC, SAP Business Content DataSource Extractors are available to deliver data directly to SAP HANA

  • SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure in Trial version

SAP Web Application Server Java 7.00 (J2EE Engine)
    MaxDB 7.6  database
    SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0.14
    SAP Enterprise Portal
SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (separate download and installation)
    SAP Content Management and Collaboration
    Adobe Document Services
    Visual Composer
    Composite Application Framework (CAF)
And when I try to connect to dtr
Ping on server http://localhost:50200/dtr/ returned: 501 Not Implemented
Please, explain is mistake this description https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e0576c7e-e306-2a10-37b8-a25d82e6f9d8, or not? Is NWDI avaliable in trial?

    Hello there,
You don't need NWDI for each environment. Just need only one NWDI server for the entire landscape.
In the NWDI you need to create tracks and configure your landscape as QA, PREPOD and PROD.
    Standard scenario in a project.
    ======================
NWDS will be connected to the [SLD]. You create a DTR client in  NWDS. Once the developer checks in the code to NWDI. NWDI administrator can approve or reject the transport to the next environment. Basically you can configure all these at NWDI.

  • What is SAP ECC 6.0?

    Hi Folks,
Can somebody please tell me what is SAP ECC 6.0? and its full form as well.
Is it the central component of ERP system? And if yes, please explain how.
Kindly send some diagrams with this if (possible).
    Thanks and regards
    Anshu

    Hi,
    ECC stands for
    "ERP Central Component"
and is the subcessor or SAP R/3
    The sequence is:
    SAP R/3 4.6C
    SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7
    SAP ECC 5.0
    SAP ECC 6.0
    Attention, the licence are different.
    SAP says:
    Question
Is SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) - the technical successor of SAP R/3 covered of the existing licence agreement for SAP R/3 customers?
    Answer
"No, ECC that is part of mySAP ERP software shipment is available to all customers that have a mySAP ERP or mySAP Business Suite license contract. Customers with a SAP R/3 license contract have the opportunity to convert their existing R/3 licenses, including a discount, either to a mySAP ERP contract or mySAP Business Suite contract. A customer with a mySAP Business Suite contract (formerly called 'mySAP.com' contract) has no need for a conversion, since a mySAP ERP license included in the mySAP Business Suite contract."

  • What are SAP products?

    Dear all
i am new in SAP and research about SAP products in university .
so i want to  know what are sap products exactly.
i heard many names as products of SAP AG but i don't know
the diffrences.for instance i read ABAP ,SAP GUI,NETWEAVER
SAP business one,my SAP business suite, what are the use of this products.what  should someone  do to establish a complete system of sap.deos it need to have database?
to explain more i know that ORACLE CORPORATION have 4 major products:
    1. DATABASE Server
    2. APPLICATION Server
    3. Developer Suite
    4. Application e-business suite 11i
so plz write for me what are SAP AG products and thier use

There are a lot of SAP products, I wouldn't name them all, but I will give the basics.
    1)  Web Application Server, ABAP and/or JAVA.  This is the basis for SAP applications.
    2)  SAP R/3 or SAP ERP.  These are the applications in which most companies have installed.  These applications run the day to day business functions.  They run on the ABAP side of the WAS.  The frontend end that the user uses to interact with the system is the SAPgui.
    3) There are many other systems which compliment your R/3 implementation such as CRM, SRM, APO, etc.
    4) Enterprise Portal,  is an application which runs on the Java side of the WAS,  this is a web based frontend which integrates SAP applications and non-SAP applications into one central place where the user can access all kinds of data.
There are many other products in SAP, these are just the major ones.
SAP supports many databases, such as Oracle, SQL, DB2.

  • SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure Device Controller Interface

    Hi,
Could you please explain the use of SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure Device Controller Interface?
    Thanks & Regards
    Sara

    Hi Sara,
SAP Device Controller Interface is the interface that will be used by device controller softwares to send data to SAP AII and vice versa. Device controllers filter the RFID reads and send a unique read event to SAP AII. SAP AII on receiving this message processes it. It can be the case that as part of processing we also require to send data back to devices/controller or send a command such as tag commissioning. At this time also the same interface is used.
