What is use of set operators in OBIEE

Hi Guys,
Colud you please tell me what is main use of Set Operators (Intersection,Union,Union all)in OBIEE.
Is it mandatory to use them in reports?
Pls tell me.

What scenario we are using set operators.
For Eg.
Col 1 is having values:
A
B
C
Col 2 is having values:
1
2
3
I have to create a new column in answers having values
A
B
C
1
2
3
solution:
You can use SET operators in OBIEE and it's really easy to set it in answers section. So create one request and then add other similar request to it by using UNION operator.
or
we can use case statement also.
2. Is it mandatory to use them in reports?
Normal reports not mandatory.

"Protect filter" basically "hard-codes" a filter so that it won't be overwritten.
Say you want to always filter a column for "X," but also want to include a value from a dashboard prompt. So you write the following:
table.column = 'X'
or
table.column "Is prompted"
The user chooses the value "Y" from the prompt and the filters now look like this:
table.column = 'Y'
or
table.column = 'Y'
Gone is the "X" value because it was overwritten by the prompt. If you protect the top filter, you will get:
table.column = 'X'
or
table.column = 'Y'

This addition tells the system to start the called program with the variant var
You specify the variant in the quotes.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller
Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
You need to return the Device for a refund, as you will not be able to re-activate it.

I have a general question about the setup of new solutions in Solution Manager. At Tech Ed, one of the SAP reps mentioned that all of the production systems related to a process should go into one solution. What does that really mean?
We have an ECC system for the financials with some of the reporting being completed in BI? So should I create one solution that includes the ECC-PRD and the BI-PRD system? Or should all of the DEV-QAS-PRD systems be place into one big solution so we can coordinate support packages and transports?
I apologize for such a general question but I wanted to see what others have found useful after setting up their solutions.

Hi Joe,
I am not sure whether I understood your question correctly or not. If you were asking about creating solutions(DSWP), then there are different ways of doing it . I dont know about SAP recommendation though.
One is Creating a solution for each of your PRD,QA and DEV. Create a solution called PRODUCTION and your all production systems into it ( in your case, your ECC PRD and BI PRD ) . The same process for QA and DEV.
Other way is Creating a solution for each landscape i.e create an ECC solution and add your ECC PRD ,DEV and QA into it. BI solution and add BI systems to that.

I have got an 80GB Apple Video iPod And I am still trying to figure out how to work it as I am new to using iPods.
What is the best setting to use to import CD Music and Music from the Internet to iTunes?? as I would like to listen to the highest quality there is on iTunes and my 80GB Apple Video iPod.
The settings are: ACC Encoder, AIFF Encoder, Apple Lossless Encoder, MP3 Encoder, WAV Encoder. If you have not got them to hand.

There really is no BEST setting. The "best" setting is the one that sounds the best to you.
Having said that, you also asked what setting provides the highest quality audio. In that case, you need to use a lossless format, such as AIFF, WAV, or Apple Lossless. MP3 and AAC are both compressed formats, and will not provide as good of an audio quality as a lossless format.
My personal preference would be Apple Lossless, but any of the lossless formats will produce an almost identical quality to the CD track.
Keep in mind, the files will be quite large.

Creating measure using set operators in BO Xi 3.0

Hi All,
I am trying to create a measure like this in BO XI 3.0 Designer.
Select count(*) from
select id from table1 where Name=<Prompt Value>
INTERSECT
select id from table1 where Name=<Prompt Value>
But I don't know how to use set operators in Designer.
Can someone please help or any pointer would help.

Use that iD to sign and use the iPod.
You can go to Settings>iTunes and App stores and change the ID for purchases. The ID is also used in Settings>FaceTime, Setting>iCloud, Settings>Messages>Send abd receive and Settings>Game Center and can ne changed in those locations.

You will need to remember or find the id that you used, without it you won't be able to re-activate your phone - if you are on the activation screen then does that show the first letter of the id and the email provider's name ?
Do you know if you have any of the account's downloads in computer's iTunes library - if you do then you can get the id form that : Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name.
If not then see if you can find it via http://appleid.apple.com : Apple ID: How to find your Apple ID.

I noticed we usually use || return 1 to break the build function in case or errors.
It works, but you have to recall to put it almost everywhere.
I was thinking, what about using `set -e' at the start of the function? *
So the build() function would fail automatically if any subcommand returns non zero,
if a command can return nonzero we will add `|| true', but it is much rarer.
