What really is an ADFContext?

I am using the ADFContext to get/put some session variables.
I spent one whole day behind a problem I have in some circumstances. Apparently, even for session variables, there might be different Contexts according to which point you call ADFContext from. For example, if I put one session variable from within one isolated/nested taskflow, I can get it back (not null) only if I call the getter from any point within the same Tab of the UIShell the nested taskflow is in; on the contrary I get a null if whenever I try to get the session variable from within a different point in another UIShell Tab.
My question are:
1. What distinguishes one ADFContext from another ADFContext?
2. How can I really share session variables redardless the current ADFContext?

Let me explain you what is wrapper object
java uses primitive types such as int and char for performance reasons. these data types are not part of the object hierarchy. They are passed by value to methods and cannot be directly passed by reference. Also, there is no way for two methods to refer to the same instance of an int. At times, we need to create an object representation for one of these primitive types. For eg, there are collection of these classes, that deal only with objects; to store a primitive type in one of these classes, we need to wrap the primitive type in a class. To address this need, Java provides classes that correspond to each of the primitive types. In essence, these classes encapsulate or wrap the primitive types with in a class. Thus they are commonly referred to as type wrappers.

What really is a wrapper object? Can't seem to find a definition that is easily understood.

  • For the average person what really is the point of the activity monitor app when all you really want to know is whether your mac is running at its best?

I have had my imac for nearly 18 months now,
It's okay, is the best I can say about it.
    It cost me around £800+
So recently (and foolishly!) I downloaded OS Mavericks when I was actually looking for a freebie word processor programme (I got Bean because it's simple like me.)
Now the point of all this is that Mavericks has new features like a redesigned Safari (But I ain't noticed any difference yet) and Imaps (Huh!) and Ibooks and Imovie or something.
So when you are oldish like me, you really don't want people to keep changing and introducing new stuff (most of which is pointless anyway) all the time; because it takes us old ***** a while to get used to the last "improvement."
So you try and get rid of all these new apps that you don't want and didn't ask for anyway,
and then you find out you can't, because they're an integral part of the new OS.
    Brilliant!
Then you find that Mail has to redo itself and this thing no longer works properly etc. and you start wishing you hadn't got up that morning...
So you try and get it all back the way it was..
    And you can't.
Because you don't have an external hard drive to use the Time machine back up facility.
So you get in touch with Apple Support and it's now nearly bedtime, but at least you feel like you might be gettin' somewhere.
You talk to the supportguy and suddenly you can't remember what the problem is and what your name is, and you're thinking you might as well order in a pizza seein' as you've drunk the last of the gin..."
Anyway the guy manages to keep his temper and you get some degree of order restored but the machine still seems "jumpy" so someone says to you
"Check out the Activity Monitor! That'll tell you if something's not working right."
So you do, but it doesn't.
Just a bunch of numbers and CPU stuff and User Idiot Input etc.
All you really want is some little box to pop up and say,
"Hey! yyyou've really ssscrewed things upppp-p here, old mmmmman!!. This programme is no longer functioning properly, that thing appears to frozen, and you just wiped half your saved photos of Aunt Jessie's 94th birthday celebration (the one's where she had her eyes open)..
Press here for a full maintenance overview and repair menu.."
By this time you are on the floor, your leg's got cramp and you really really need a pee.
But there ain't no maintenance programme, just an activity monitor app you can't make any sense out of, so you yank the **** power cord out of the socket and go to bed..
    So you try and

  • HT1414 what really is "other" yellow free space gobbling stuff ?

yellow "other" burns up 1.5gb in 3 months. What is it ? No,really, what is it ?

Contacts, favorites, voicemail, app data, history, etc.
Normally it is less than a GB.  Much more than this indicates corrupt fies.  A restore should resolve.

  • What really does "Licensee must use the installers as-is without modification" mean?

In our organization we need to deploy Flash Player via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager to hundreds of computers.  Along with the standalone installers for distribution in this manner, Adobe has terms here - http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html prohibiting modification of the installers.  But what does this really mean?  For example, we can create a transform for the .MSI file, which is a separate file that has settings that are applied by msiexec at the time of installation.  Is this considered "modification" by Adobe?  We need to disable auto-updating as the end users of these computers are not local admins and so they get useless and annoying update messages and UAC prompts.

rSAP has largely been supplanted by ABAP, which the iPhone supports. Most modern smartphones, including the iPhone do NOT store any information on the SIM.
SMS inboxes. Not much to say. I've never had a desire to do this. I understand it could be useful, but it's unlikely to change.
As for meetings on the home screen... Wait for iOS 5
Flash: it's not JUST that Steve doesn't like flash. Adobe has failed to produce a workable version of Flash for iOS. Blame has to go to both sides.  I say good riddance to it.

  • What REALLY happened with the iPhone 4S 64gb?

Like everyone else I feel completely let down that I didn't get my phone on launch day, but unlike everyone else (according to most of the posts I saw) I just really NEED to know JUST WHAT HAPPENED?
My store (in SE Wisconsin) seems to harbor a bunch of great people as employees and I'm not going to bash them, rather I would just appreciate some education to their employees by corporate. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY DIDN'T THE BEST BUY STORES GET THE IPHONE 4S 64GB ALONG WITH ALL OF THE REST OF THE IPHONE 4S'S.
This seems to be the situation across the country and there are a ton of people extremely unhappy. All we are getting from the front lines (ie the employees) is that the Apple distributors didn't send them? Really? There's no information anywhere about why Best Buy didn't get the phone.
I believe that if we, the customers, got the information about why we didn't get our phones on the launch day, a lot of people would be less unhappy. Also an estimated time as to when we will finally get them would be much appreciated. (Maybe trying to remedy this in the future would be a good idea too)
    To sum it up:
    1. Why didn't Best Buy get the iPhone 4s 64gb with all of the other iPhones
    2. Please let us know what occurred to make this happen
    3. Please let us know when we will get our phones, or at least when Best Buy will
    4. Apologize
    5. Don't let this happen again!!!

i live in sterling heights MI and have experienced similar problems.
i ordered a black 64g (at&t) iphone 4s for myself and a white 32g (at&t) iphone 4s for my wife.  i arrived at the store 10 minutes after the store opened on the friday to pre-order.  i was informed that there weren't many people before me who had pre-ordered through any carriers.  the sales person who helped me said NOTHING about any type of snafu.  he even told me stories on how they overstaffed the store (utica MI) for the verizon release and that they sold less the 10 iphone 4's on release day.  he took my order and while taking it, the store manager (who the sales person advised me who had called) called him while he was helping me and informed him that the orders were to be filled in order received.  wham, bam i'm out of the store as happy as can be expecting to get my hands on the phone that will make my wife a little happy camper.  ok, i was pretty excited too.  well, on thursday oct 13th i get a call from "sam" from best buy around 8 pm and he tells me that my phone won't be there and they'll 'probably' get another shipment later in the day.  so instantly my blood begins to boil because i'm thinking to myself.......1.  i only went to best buy for the $50 gift card per iphone  2  if i knew that there would be ANY issue with me possibly not getting the phone i would've just ordered from at&t or the apple store.  3  i too have spent oogles of $$$$$ at best buy and have come to expect better.  finally 4th of all the way there was NO explination on WHY they didn't get either order just angered me further.  since my wife has called every day and has received 3 different excuses over the four days she has called (since thur night)
i work with a lot of people who depend on cell phones and BELIEVE me.....each one will know about best buy selling items under the assumption i would've had it on launch day, and they can't even provide the item or a reason why they're not there.
whoever is in charge of the store/region/company should probably know how passionate people are with their iphone/apple products and shouldn't have led us on to believe that we would have one on lanuch day.  it's just bad business!  here i'm gonna take all these pre-orders and i have NO clue how many.....or even what we're going to get.
finally i'm in the catch 22......do i cancel the order and lose my place in line with the possibility of getting it any day here (that's a liberal use of the phrase any day.....probably 2 weeks)  or do i cancel the order and go with the surefire at$t or apple and KNOW what i'm getting it?
from here forth best buy can $#&$ off with their pre-orders and products.....i'll go somewhere else.

  • Sleeping, whats really goin on?

    Hi All,
I have a PDA which Syncs and charges via USB.
Sleep-wise I dont have many problems (except one regarding external display but that is another post).
My question in this case is this: When I shut the lid on my MBP the sleep indicator starts breathing pretty much straight away, but the connected PDA still continues to charge, thus drawing power from the MBP. This actually isnt a bad thing, but Im just curious if its normal? Shouldnt the power be cut from the USB while the device is in sleep? I'm not complaining about it as I prefer this behaviour, I just want to make sure my MBP is asleep.
The more bizarre thing, is when I unplug the PDA while the MBP is asleep and its lid is shut, the 'PDA Disconnected' sound plays through its speakers! The sleep indicator briefly pauses, then starts breathing again. So I'm guessing when I unplug the PDA the MBP wakes up, makes the sound, then goes back to sleep again. But what puzzles me is, is the sync software actually running during the sleep? checking for communication with the PDA? Is it possible to disable this? SO connecting/disconnecting USB while the lid is shut does not wake it up?
    MacBook Pro C2D 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Week 46 Build

If you are still hearing notification sounds, then your computer is not sleeping. The light on the front next to the opening button should be pulsing bright and dim (sort of like breathing deeply) if it is sleeping. There are a number of cases where the MBP does not sleep when you close the lid. That is actually why I was looking around in the discussions here.
See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4075416#4075416 for one discussion about problems of MBP not sleeping when you close the lid. It can be quite a problem if you close the lid and put the MBP in a bag if it is not sleeping as it can get very hot and run down the battery.

  • How can I avoid this kind of pigment? (What really causes it?)

I have clip that works great with all kinds of effects on it, except brightness/contrast (both of them used separately as well). The second I render the clip with those effects, my clip becomes "choppy". It's weird, cause with other color effects (including luma) it doesn't react like this. It seems to be that red tones are more susceptible for it as well.
Why do this happen and how do I deal with this? I'm interested in the color, not the image btw. What other way can I get a strong contrast-darkness effect.

I must also add, maybe the crucial part. 636 x 480 square pixel 1.0 are the settings for the clip, and it reacts this way when I copy and paste it (and render) into 720 x 576 16:9 D1 widescreen (1.45).
So how can I get it to fit the widescreen? I've tried to create a new project with it and save it as a 720 x 576 but with the same result, but when I render, I get the same result.
    Thx

  • What really works in resolving USPS loss of your device?

We all know the problem of USPS losing devices sent via Verizon's prepaid shipping labels is rampant. There are dozens on comments on threads in this forum regarding the issue. However it seems like there are ways to twit Verizon's arm into cancelling the fee for devices sent vis USPS that never turn up at the VZN processing center.
My story is just like everyone else. My defective phone needed to be replaced, they sent the replacement, I packed up the defective phone in the designated box and affixed the Verizon provided USPS label to the box. I work in lower Manhattan and believe it or not our local post office has only just recently regained full functionality post Hurricane Sandy so like most people here I avoid those locations as much as possible. Instead the package was taken to the main post office in Manhattan. I didn't even know getting a ticket of receipt from USPS was an option, the counter clerks never offered that information, if only I'd known! Though with a tracking number you assume there won't be an issue. Of course, I was naive and wrong! Three weeks later I personally called Verizon to make sure they'd gotten the phone when I got a text reminding me to send the device. There was no information but the rep assured me that sometimes it takes time to show up in the system. I then started getting messages more frequently and turned to my tracking number and USPS. Not surprisingly there was nothing USPS could do. The branch manager at my local USPS confirmed that it's extremely common for USPS to NOT scan tracking bar codes and subsequently lose a package. I followed their procedure and filed a missing parcel report. I have followed up with USPS on this and they told me it could take as long as a year to recover my package. My father who "owns" our family plan went to his local store in NC and spoke with managers there they were entirely unhelpful. I spent five (yes, 5) hours on the phone with Verizon customer service and the best the could offer me was a mailing address to send a written complaint to. The snarky Customer Service rep also volunteered that he was fine with it if I wanted to yell and scream and curse at him, that he loved it with customers "(removed) him out". Seriously? That's what you call customer service Verizon. You provided me a mailing service for your device. The mailing service lost my item as it has for countless other customers thus you are charging me $500. Clearly if I'm willing to spend this much time on the issue I'm not a thief and I'm insulted to be treated as such by a company I have been a customer of for well over a decade. I refuse to pay this fee when I have been a loyal customer and never missed a payment. This is the first time I've ever had to use the warranty option. Clearly the flaw is Verizon's system NOT the consumer!
So here is what I HAVE done:
    1. Filed a complain with The Better Business Bureau.
    2. Prepared a letter to send to their mail in CS center
    3. I will attempt to e-mail Nancy B. Clark (Sr. Vice Pres of Operation Excellence) and Lowell C. McAdam (CEO) per "hints" I found on an Android service forum.
    4. I'm debating contacting Gawker media. The issue is well documented in customer forums so why haven't we as consumers banded together to expose Verizon's lack of customer care?
What have YOU done to remedy this situation and get the erroneous charge removed from your bill for good?

It's not that USPS is losing the package, it's that the warehouse has millions of phones coming through and each package might get scanned as "received" in bulk, but isn't actually through the system in a final status until hands are actually put on the unit and it is placed into inventory.

  • I don't know what really the cause of my ipad. its just went off and I cannot user it now. someone knows what's them probl

What's the problem of my ipad?

Have you tried a reset to see if that will start the iPad?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

But does it reach down into my image storage that has been setup in Storage Management and permanently remove the image?
In other words does it actually remove the image or just the reference? I need certainty that the image is gone.

I drop them into iWeb and they come in reduced in size.
Standard routine. It's rather convenient when your original image is 4000 x 4000 pixels. It prevents total blackout on your page. Click the *Original size* button in the metric pane (yellow ruler).
Your original files are stored in the domain.sites2 file in :
    ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
iWeb publishes the scaled version of the image if it different from the original one you dropped on the page.
If you apply the mask tool, PNG images are created and published. The original file is still in the domain.sites file.

  • What really is "UNTIL TIME" ?

    hi. Im fretting again.
Another couple of quibbles Im afraid:
I have read countless descriptions for the UNTIL clause in rman. That there is UNTIL TIME, that there is UNTIL SEQUENCE and UNTIL SCN.
I have the Oracle9i DBA Handbook here, p.487. And its thrown another spanner in the works. It lists the various clauses used, and under untilClause this is is description:
Specifies an upper limit by TIME, SCN, or log sequence number. This clause is usually used to specify the desired point in time for an incomplete recovery"
This might be a matter of semantics, but those of you with OCP exam question experience might understand that some of the questions put in the exam are intentionally wired that way. Specifically UNTIL TIME demands us to literally specify a time. Yet generally, could we say that even UNTIL SEQUENCE is to "specify a point in time", since using a log sequence number is indeed to specify a time in the past - just measured a different way???
Another quibble I have is to confirm this: that in an offline backup we would copy the online redo logs, yet in an online backup we would only want to copy the archivelog redo.
    Thanks.
    DA
Im not sure who has read the OCP 9i Exam Guide by Oracle Press (Velpuri) but on p.295 he explains that tablespace recovery may be done while the db is on OR offline. I've read a million times that the database MUST be online for tablespace recovery (while for datafile recovery it can be off or on). Just another mind-bender for those of us having to learn from texts)

I have read countless descriptions for the UNTIL
clause in rman. That there is UNTIL TIME, that there
is UNTIL SEQUENCE and UNTIL SCN.Dan,
You and I use a clock that measures seconds, minutes, and so on.
Oracle uses a clock that measures system changes. Every once in a while the Oracle internal clock 'ticks' and a new 'SCN' appears.
specify a point in time", since using a log sequence number is indeed to specify a time in the past - just measured a different way???The SCN clock is not perfectly in alignment with your clock. It may not even have regular ticks - at peak load the ticks may come in at several thousand per second, under light load the SCN ticks could happen only a few [hundred] per second.
Any point in time identified by external (to the database) reference is translated to the internal SCN clock tick. If the people time is specified to the nearest minute, which SCN does that translate to? To the nearest second?
Now, for the 'upper bound' part ... if a tablespace was turned read-only at SCN 567 and the database is currently at SCN 887, what should the "SELECT ... AS OF SCN 753" return from the tablespace?
