What's Up with Firefox and the way it displays sites?

Just wondering what is going on with Firefox? My site looks fine in both Safari and Google Chrome, however when I look at it in Firefox for some reason two of my links are covered up by the contact box that I have at the bottom of the navigation bar.
In Firefox both the Events and Blog links are covered by this box, but are fine in Safari and Google Chrome, as you will see.

I gave up on Firefox a good while back and now use Chrome more and more.
I downloaded the latest V 3.6.13 of Firefox a couple of days ago and it doesn't seem much better. Having said that I haven't looked at V 4 beta at all. It might be worth your while trying your site in that version to see if the cause of the problem is something they may be trying to fix.
I was trying an experiment putting the code for several single music players into one HTML Snippet and discovered that Firefox chops the bottom off and I had to add a line or two of code to force it to expand downwards.

I've had issues with Facebook not loading certain areas of the web-site correctly or fully since Feb. 22. When I first go onto Facebook I am on the home page "news feed". Thing is when I click on the tab at the bottom of the news feed that says "see more", nothing is happening. It refuses to open the feed up to older posts which friends or myself have posted. Only about 6 - 8 posts at the max show on that home feed. That's it.
My other issue, also in Facebook is when I go to access my "messages". First click on the tab "messages" brings up a white page. Then if I refresh the page to see if it will load, the messages page loads very weird. It shows the last message I may have replied to at the bottom of the screen, but over lapping on top of the list of previous messages to the left of the page. Plus the page appears extremely different than it should. Just like it's been re-formatted or whatever.
Since these 2 issues started on Saturday afternoon I've switched over to the Safari browser on my iMac. On that browser Facebook is performing properly, as it should be. It's not overlapping messages. Plus the home feed isn't refusing to extend for me so that I may view older stories or posts by friends. All appears fine while accessing Facebook on the Safari browser. Not so while on Firefox. I am running the most up to date version of Firefox. "27.0.1" Plus I have a habit to clear the browser's history daily & restarting the browser as well as my iMac. So I do not believe those are my problems. I feel there may be something you guys there at Firefox should look into on this.

Icloud with firefox and the auto-log-in

Hi there, I use the firefox browser with my windows 7 PC
and I have the problem, the the auto-logg in won´t work anymore.
Therefore I used the "keep me logged in" option at the start-up off icloud, but it won´t work... Any ideas?

"Remember me" options are stored in cookies. First try removing the cookies for the site and then log in and see if it remembers you the next time you visit the site. Details of how to do that are shown in the [[deleting cookies]] article.
If that does not work, the file that stores cookies may be corrupt and you can try deleting the file to see if that resolves the problem.

Whenever firefox is opened, it freezes. This has occurred after I updated adobe reader recently. What's wrong with firefox and what can I do?

Recently firefox will open but then freeze immediatly. This has occurred after I updated adobe reader. I'm not sure if that affected firefox, but the time period fits. Restarting my computer has no effect on firefox.

The Adobe DLM is not required for Adobe products to work. You can uninstall it by opening the Windows Control Panel and selecting Add or Remove Programs. In the list of programs select Adobe DLM (may be listed as Adobe Download Manager) and click on remove.

Updated without my permission, and now doesnt work. I'm fed up with firefox and I'm not going to use it again.

When I opened Firefox, I found it automatically updating and trying to see if my add-ons could be updated. After I cancelled this because I didn't want this to happen, nothing is loading. It is not an internet connection issue because I am using Internet Explorer. I am sick of all the crashes and nonsense with Firefox and the constant badgering to update, when I DO NOT WANT TO. Thanks for the reply.I deleted an app to try your suggestion but as I can't download I have now lost that ap.I don't have it in 'purchased apps' now either as I downloaded it from my iTunes backup from my ipad 2 and that is not showing up any of my purchased apps either.This is a nightmare.Guess I'll have to go back into my iMac and try another backup but then I'll be back to square one.

No, there is nothing you can do if you had not setup Find my iPhone on it.
The bill and IMEI are useless for tracking a phone.

Install Splashtop2 on the PC and enable it to be controlled or ran from iPad or Reflection to simply allow iPad to serve as PC unwired monitor. With Splashtop and an Apple TV connected, you use the smartboard as usual, yet the PC and iPad can see the same content. I have been a long time faithful customer of vzw and although the past year I have been late on payments many times and really couldn’t afford your exorbitant prices for services lots of other companies offer sometimes three times cheaper than what you charge, I have hung in there trying my best to meet my obligations.
This month has been no exception. You don’t know the background; the whole story of people’s lives. I know you could care less because all you care about is the profit-the money that comes in.
I was told when I agreed to pay my bill on the third per the recorded message that I had 14 days to pay…you cut me off anyway. The phones are not the tissue; your suspending my service means I cannot work. I may lose my job…how do you justify that? In any case? The least you could do would be to keep 4986 on and cut the phones off. But no. You refuse to compromise and meet the basic needs of your customer. What does that say about your company? I tried to call back on three separate occasions to tell you I couldn’t pay because of unexpected expenses but couldn’t get out of the automated system…sadly couldn’t get to a real person which also speaks volumes to me.
All this tells me this is a company I don’t wish to be affiliated with any more. As soon as I can, I will discontinue service with you…I know you could care less. I will honor the remaining portion of the contract but that’s it. You don’t deserve my business. See I have choices. MANY choices of providers for services you offer. I don’t have to be treated like this. I don’t have to succumb to your coldness and callousness. I intend to choose better (and cheaper). If your company doesn’t get the “people factor” back you will be sorry.

Problem here is you admit you cannot afford the service.
And you want to blame Verizon for losing a job because you have no cell phone.
If your job depends on that phone I would pay it on time every time if you need a job to pay your bill.
No other service is going to treat you any different. And if you cannot afford Verizon's monthly invoice how are you going to afford new devices, activation fees, possible security deposits on any other cellular carrier? You can't.
Also if you made an arraignment to pay and then decide you cannot do so, why should Verizon extend you service or credit, or why is it you want to use the service and data and not pay for it as agreed.
Get a prepay phone. Its evident the cost is too high for you to afford on post pay.

4GB of RAM is not very much RAM these days particularly if you tend to have many windows open at one time. For example if you are working in Safari and have several tabs open and then work on a Photoshop project that will eat a lot of RAM. One simple way to check is open Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) and click the System Memory tab. Run this under typical use and check the amount of FREE RAM. It will look something like:
I can see from my example I am dangerously low on RAM by the amount of free RAM I have. I suspect if you upgrade to 8, 12 or even 16GB of RAM your machine would work much better. BTW ...my MacBook Air is limited to 4GB so it's up to me to manage my RAM better.

I don't want to use fusion-icon (many complex reasons I wouldn't like to state here, just please take it for granted) and I'd like to bind a key combination for a command which would let me replace compiz with metacity and the other way round. So I think I need a script.
What I'd need:
detect if compiz is running
yes -> metacity --replace
no -> compiz --loose-binding --replace

The scripts by mojlac024 replaces compiz by metacity when compiz is running, but when metacity is running it doesn't bring compiz back.
How to incorporate that test:
dbus-send --print-reply --type=method_call --dest=org.freedesktop.compiz /org/freedesktop/compiz/dbus/screen0 org.freedesktop.compiz.list | wc -l
into the script?
PS.:
When compiz is running, it prints 1. But when compiz is not running, it prints:
Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.compiz was not provided by any .service files

So a simple logical test of "is this 0 or not?" won't work, I'm afraid.

For no apparent reason, my email will not autofill addresses. I have no problem on IE, Chrome or Opera. This problem just started with firefox within the last 24 hours. My mail server is AT&T/Yahoo, and I use webmail - not a mail program.

With all other browsers, when I compose an email, once I start to put the recipient's name in the To box, it will autofill the name if it is in my Contacts. This has been the case with firefox until the last 24 hours. Now, firefox does not automatically recognize any of my contacts. This problem is not happening on IE, Chrome, or Opera. I access my email through my AT&T/Yahoo account on the web, not through a mail program.

I am using a HP Laptop NOT mobile device. Every time I try to go into my YAHOO bookmarks it asks me to sign in which I do to no avail. AT&T came to the conclusion it may be that Firefox and Yahoo are not working together. I just downloaded both the latest versions of Firefox and the yahoo toolbar again to no avail. Is there something with Firefox that is preventing me from getting into my yahoo bookmarks??

It's really up to you how often you want to clear history. If you have a large hard drive, Firefox may save history for a year or more...
