What's with sync error 1140 when syncing iphone?

This happened both with my iphone 4 and 4s when plugged via usb into my iMac. Is there a relationship to photo's? Error 1140 prevents syncing.

The following is done using iTunes:
Un-select sync | Apply.
Click on Sync.
Try and Sync photos. Click on Apply and then press Sync.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.

I get the same error (although in Dutch ;-)).
It also says something like (I'm translating): "Make sure your network settings are correct and your networkconnection is active or try again later." Is there a way to find out these "correct networksettings"?
I now get it for a week, eacht time I connect my iPhone to itunes...

I encountered error 6 when upgrading Iphone 5s from 7.1.2 to 8.3
I've tried upgrade iphone on three computers , the results are all the same.
One of the computers successfully upgrade my ipad to 8.3.
There are 2GB left on IPhone 5S before I perform the upgrade.
It should be enough for iTunes to finish the process, right?
But in the log, it says "copier_file_error: /mnt2/mobile/Library/PreinstalledAssets/com_apple_MobileAsset_Font.cpio: No space left on device"
why is that?
Any way for me to continue the upgrade? it seems it's almost done.

It sounds like you are trying to update your iPhone 5s to the most current version of iOS and are getting an Error 6 message. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great information in regards to that very error message:

Particularly:
Check your security software
Errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1611, 9006.
Sometimes security software can stop your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't blocking a connection to the Apple servers.
If you still see the error message, check for USB connection issues.

Error 1602 when updating Iphone 4 from 4.3 to 5.. Any help ?

Error 1602 when updating Iphone 4 from 4.3 to 5 and after that it goes into "recovery mode" but Its not recognized by Itunes, I can only exit it with Tinyumrella and nothing else.

It seems that the itunes program has some interfefence when contacting the apple server.
i had this problem gave me error message 3200, i turned off the anti virus after restarting the computer(windows vista) and restarting the phone.
Turned off the sidebar, and closed any programs in the notifications section such as nokia ovi etc which load up when the computer starts also skype.
ha presto it began the process of transfering the file to the iphone4 and has now fully updated

So I know about the issues with syncing with iCal but why is it when I add an event on my iPad I'll get five of the same events on my iPhone. ***?

Sorry for the lack of info just a little upset.
I've always synced using iTunes. Then once I got my iPad I started to use MobileMe. I did discover one error at the beginning and resolved that by turning of sync via iTunes. Then all was good. Then as of yesterday. If I create an event on the iPad I get multiple events on the iPhone. Also, at the same time I created these events on the iPad I created a contact on the iPad. It NEVER made it to the iPhone.
This fricken thing use to work great. No its extremely broken and making my tools that I use on a daily basis useless. Seems to have gone all downhill as soon as OS 4.0 came out.

What causes Run Time Error 10086 when attempting an external calibration with the Calibrate_E_Series funcition.

I am using Vb6(sp5), NT4, Component Works (latest), and Ni-Daq 6.9.1. The error occurs when using either a PXI-6052E or PXI-6070E. The Self Cal works fine but the external cal code generates this error during the call. The code used is taken directly from the programming example in the NI_DAQ programmers reference for the Calibrate_E_Series function.
The Error Text is:

The external reference is invalid

I found a Knowledge Base about that error you can refer to. The KB, originally, talks about Labview, but, as Labview makes NI-DAQ function calls in the same way any other Software language, you can apply the same concepts when using VB. The link is:

Help with syncing iphone to itunes

When I try and sync my iphone 3Gs to itunes a message comes up saying "This iphone can not be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started" but my iphone is on and my service is started... what do i do?

Are you trying to update with a different computer or iTunes account than what you previously synced to?
You'll get that warning if you're trying to sync, or restore using a different computer than the one the phone was last originally activated with or last synced to. This will REPLACE whatever is on your phone with what is in the iTunes library on that computer. To avoid losing your apps/media with a new computer:
1. Authorize the computer in iTunes to your account.
2. Disable automatic synching on connection: (iTunes) Preferences > Devices > Prevent... from syncing automatically.
3. Connect your phone.
4. Right-click the device tab (left side of iTunes screen) and select "Transfer Purchases" to transfer from your phone to the iTunes library. Note that this transfers only media PURCHASED from iTunes, not anything you added from other sources.

Looking for some help with an error message when exporting master file. I'm stuck and would even pay to get this sorted out!

Hey guys, I'm really in a bind here and need some urgent help tonite. I would even be willing to pay for some actual help and not some vague information that i may not be able to understand if we could do something via skype or some other way that would be much quicker than a message board. Of course I have to have the project done by tomorow . so I'm new to fcpx, but have succesfully exported 2 other projects. I've also ran into this predicament before (error message not allowing me complete export) and have been able to solve that by converting the files i imported off my camera (canon g20) to a different file type (prores).
so where I'm at now: i have a 13 min short, all shot on my canon g20, imported and converted to prores422 with the brorsoft video converter with all the shots in a single event in fcpx. i'm using fcpx version 10.0.08. I have one main video track in my timeline that is completely full of very fast edits. (all quick 2-5 second clips, sped up shots in 2x, 4x, or 8x, tons of transitions, titles, and a little fx. theres 2 audio tracks, one is narration/speech and the other is an ongoing music track that constantly ducks everytime the subject speaks (tons of ducks/edits). Have you seen mtv cribs? Well i filmed an EXACT replica. So If you've seen one of those episodes, its literally the same exact same thing. I have all of my work completed, everything has been fully rendered, and i have it exactly as I want it.
I'm including all this information in case it may help. my successful projects ive exported in the past were rather simple, and this one is very complex and full of edits. here is what it looks like in the timeline:
Ive tried exporting the master file using almost all the different ways with no luck. My primary objective is to get it on youtube by any means by tommorow for a showing to a potential buyer (long story) and so I've been told using the h.264 is the best format for that. This, along with the other methods give me the same error message:
It think it gives this error message when i reach 24% everytime during export.
So first of all, what is that error message? Do i need to be concerned about the specifics of it, or is there something major that I'm missing? Like i said, i dont care how, but I need to get this video up on youtube tonite for an important viewing tomorrow. Conceptually, I think if i can figure this one out I shouldnt have any more trouble in the future doing something so basic, yet critical, such as exporting my 40+ hours of work for someone to see.
anyway, I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge with this software, and for my extremely long winded question which will probably have the opposite effect for me as most wont want to take the time to read all this, BUT i figured if i was as thorough as possible it might help actually getting a concrete answer, instead of a "read the manual, exporting is on page 37." or "use the share button on the right of the timeline then just click export master file and it will work everytime."

boom! that advice was correct and worked. i was able to export the full project as a quicktime movie and it can be uploaded to youtube.
NOTE, theres is definately quite a few noticeable audio glitches/lags/pops that werent there before doing this. I believe, and will test to make sure, that having a project such as this one needs to render before exporting. I'm not sure if the advice requires the project to be unrendered before exporting for a specific reason, because if it will export fine after rendering the project that's the way to go. like i said the edited version i have in my timeline plays back perfectly but this exported version has quite a few noticeable audio glitches (a few video glitches too). I'm going to retry doing the first few steps of your advice, but then at the end render, then export and compare the results...
OK, so this leads to a big question, Is this something that is standard for everyone when trying to export? If its not, what causes this error?
is there any way of preemptively avoiding it in future projects?
thanks again, and hopefully this information will help others as exporting seem to be one of the biggest problems in fcpx. any word on a new patch or firmware update?

What is with this error message?

Usually after my computer is on for a bit, iTunes begins to get an error message that says "STATUSWAIT0". Even restarting iTunes doesn't help it, the only way to fix it is to reboot the computer and then it will come up again after some time. It's pretty annoying. Does anybody know what this message is referring to and what to do about it?
When I run diagnostics, the "reading status" light is orange. I don't know what I'm supposed to look for here but this is what the text says.

I then exported the MP and manually deleted the Override but when I try to import it I get the same error.
I have also checked a couple of other unsealed MP and some are also affected.
I have gone through the MP XML can find no matches for any of the references. Is there a way (powershell or SQL query) where i can identify what these references are or how I should proceed to troubleshoot this issue?

That was my understanding about the error also but there are no entries for:
ef78d342-5a82-d629-224d-2e476003f6e1
a27e1d14-8ad4-56fb-da46-0c0994054e92
06522f67-c195-2dfa-c310-a0134b961fc4
in the management pack at all.
What also is curious is that the errors refer to "LanguageID=ENA"
but the only language code present inside the management pack is ENU.
The fact that there is no ENA language pack and that there are no references matched leads me to believe
that this issue is not due to this MP its references in another.

There are also about 14 reference management packs this MP uses and those MP would also have a handful each which makes it difficult to troubleshoot.
Unfortunately deleting the MP isn't an option as there is a significant amount of configuration saved in it.

TS1389 It keeps coming up with an Error message when I try to Authorize it.

hello guys, I have a problem with itunes! I have an iphone 4 updated to the latest version 6.1.3, itunes updated to version 11.0.2.26 ..
the problem is that when I connect my iphone to pc, itunes recognizes it but I'm not synchronize ...! how can I fix it? thanks a lot guys I have windows xp as the operating system!

When you plug in your iphone to sync, after the backup occurs, click on the iPhone tab (or device) in iTunes. You will see a summary page of the various things that you an control during a sync, such as music, tones, apps, etc. Click on the app tab and check or uncheck the apps that you do not want on your iPhone. Then click on apply or sync on the bottom of the iTunes page.
