What types of Interface Errors lead to Input/Output Drops/Discards?

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knows if all of the following errors would lead to packet drops/discards.
Runts
Giants
Framing Errors
Overrun Errors
Abort Errors
Also, are there any types of interface errors that don't lead to packet drops/discards?
So if all interface errors lead to packet drops/discards, I may not have to poll for multiple OIDs for these errors, but instead just poll for packet drops/discards.
Any insight would be appreciated.

ifInDrops do not related to errors. In fact, ifInDiscards specifically count packets that were discarded without an associated error. This could be due to a lack of buffer space (e.g. no queue slot), or there was no listener for a TCP connection. The same is true for ifOutDiscards.
For a consolidated error count, look at ifInErrors and ifOutErrors. It will depend on the interface/encapsulation type as to what exactly will be counted as an error, but anything that would be an encap-specific error should appear in one of the interface error counters.

Apparently the .StarOffice8 directory in your export/home directory was created based on .StarOffice7
directory. Probably here something went wrong. Maybe a bug.
So the solution is very simple:
rm -r .StarOffice8 in your export/home directory and restart StarOffice8.
Or you can also rename the directory.

Error inserting acpi_cpufreq: Input/output error?

Hi,
I'm trying to set up frequency scaling on my Intel i5 760 as per the wiki.
The only problem is I can't seem to load the acpi_cpufreq module!
# modprobe acpi_cpufreq
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.39-ARCH/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko.gz): Input/output error
There is no additional output in dmesg from this error.
I'm running x86_64 btw, and I notice that it's trying to load an x86 module, could this have anything to do with it?

Did you find a solution? I'm having exactly the same problem with acpi-cpufreq. (eeepc 900). I tried modprobing the p4_clockmod as well, which some older posts say is required for my machine, but I got the same error.
Both modules appear to be available -

What type of interface should I buy for Roland XP60, Logic iMac set up?

I've been having problems finding a suitable interface for my set up. The guy at gtr ctr told me to buy Uno Midi to USB cable and that's not right. I still want to record sounds from my Roland and use it to trigger sounds in Logic Express. The Apogee duet seems cool but that won't help me either.
Please HELP!!!!

The cable should be fine but it will only record midi information into LE when you have an audio instrument selected. You can record the audio output from your Roland using the right cable to connect its audio outs to the audio in on your mac. To record both at the same time you would need both connected and an audio and midi (ie "audio instrument") track selected and record enabled.
If some of this terminology is difficult read the getting started guide and sections on audio and midi in the manual. Your Roland can be recorded as a synth obviously, as well as act as a controller keyboard and both of these functions work in different ways within logic.
You could also output your recorded midi to your roland to play back directly from your synth...
Ideally it would be good to have an audio/midi interface of some kind as you are suggesting - there are many, many, many to choose from, though in theory what you already have you should be able to get working.

What type of interface for replacement optical drive?

I have a white, NOT unibody Macbook, model MacBook5,2.
The optical drive is broken, and it's out of warranty.
Happily, I'm not squeamish about swapping it out myself. However, I'm finding conflicting info online about what kind of drive I actually need. I would just do a like-for-like replacement, but the Matshita UJ-867A comes in PATA and SATA flavors. System Profiler says the drive is connected to the SATA bus, but discussions of the older Macbooks (MacBook1-4,1) are unambiguous about the drive being PATA.
Moreover, several parts retailers list a SATA->PATA converter as an optical drive accessory.
So before I rip the sucker open to see what kind of optical drive I need, can anybody with some Apple Repair experience tell me for sure?

EAI Error logging - Log input/output XML to table

Hi Gurus,
In our project we are designing error handling mechanism for our EAI workflows.
Along with the common fields, generally we use in such scenarios (Object type, Row_id, User Login, Workflow Process,Error Code, Error Message..etc) we would like to save the input and output XML to the EAI log table.
Here I have couple of questions.
1) Is it a best approach to store all I/O messages to the table, ofcourse XML message size is not hude, it is just customer profile information without any child objects.
2) Which data type will support in Siebel and Oracle DB of the table column to store the XML message. Do we need any conversion from XML to normal string to store the XML.
3) How others (other projects) make use of this kind of error log table. Do I need to design BC, BO, Applet and view for this?
Please provide me your valuable suggestions.

OpenOffice/Go-Office Export to PDF General Input/Output Error

Okay so I am using the openoffice 3.2 from the latest go-office package.
Whenever I try to export something as a pdf, it gives me the following error message in a little window:
Error saving the document: Untitled 1
General Error.
General Input/Output Error.
I have checked to make sure that I have installed all of the optional, PDF handling packages for openoffice, but I still get this message. It's odd though, it does export the document to a PDF, but the quality of the font and the images is really bad.
Is there any way to fix this? Is this something I need to do a downgrade to fix? Do I need to install the openoffice package instead?

In form interface u have to define the fields or tables which all are u passing from the program.
In the glabal definitions you can define your types for internal tables or other purposes in 'TYPES' tab, then declare the global datas your internal tables, work areas etc.
write ur select statement and othe codings there in initializations, define subroutines in form routines,
then, u cna use loops , command lines for additional purpose in each pages.

Resolve input/output does not match

I've used Audition for years, but I'm unable to record in the new version that I just downloaded. I get the error message that input / output measurements to not match. I've been in and out of preferences and made changes to no avail. Thank you for your help.

We need a few more details of your system. Are you on a PC or a Mac? What operating system are you using? And what audio interface?
Since you say that you have used Audition for years I assume that this means on a PC. In which case it is probably Windows that is giving you the run around with setting up the soundcard correctly for Audition. This FAQ may be of help.

I have the file MacHelp.help in the reported position under Harddisk Lbrary (and not in Library of user's Account - mine Folder Help is empty).
During the Repair of permission the Mac freezes while checking these part and later resumes.
The Mac is working without apparent problems.
Any suggestion ???

Forgot to say that the file MacHelp.help is reported by Finder to be a Final Cut Express file. It opens and happens to be a general help file for Mac with links to other Help

Files generated by Web Service Proxy give errors for complex input types

Hi ,
I generated a Java Web Service Proxy using a WSDL file.
The input params are of this fashion -
1) Object 1 have 3 attributes
2) Object 2 having nested Object 2 (yes , again) which has a nested attribute which needs to be passed say Param 1.
When I generate the proxy classes ... Param 1 is referred to as private Object2.Object2 param1 which gives error for the data types.
How can we resolve this .. what should be the correct data type representation for param 1 ?

The "Javadoc" for the type safe WebLogic MBean interfaces have this disclaimer;
Deprecation of MBeanHome and Type-Safe Interfaces... This is a type-safe interface for a WebLogic Server MBean, which you can import into your client classes and access through weblogic.management.MBeanHome. As of 9.0, the MBeanHome interface and all type-safe interfaces for WebLogic Server MBeans are deprecated. Instead, client classes that interact with WebLogic Server MBeans should use standard JMX design patterns in which clients use the javax.management.MBeanServerConnection interface to discover MBeans, attributes, and attribute types at runtime.

I don't understand what this means;
1) Is all the WebLogic MBean interfaces in the "weblogic.management.configuration.*" deprecated?
2) Is the usage of MBeanTypeService also deprecated. since it requires the an WebLogic MBean interface as input for it's getMBeanInfo method?
3) If the WebLogic MBean interfaces will dispear, wil there be any reliable source for type information about WebLogic MBean since the information returned by MBeanTypeService.getMbeanInfo(), MBeanserver.getMbeanInfo() or WebLogicObjectName.getMbeanInfo() isn't consist in its naming schemes (tries to but..)?

While scheduling background job, you can trigger the job based on existing job status as dependency or schedule the job based on the SAP Event.
Dependency Job like first background job completes successfully then second followup job will executed other job will not triggered.
Event Jobs: While importing data through transportation, some RDD* jobs automatically triggers. These are event based jobs.

Netbook 1000: Shared Mic/Headphone input - What type?

I am considering an HP 1000 series Netbook. But the shared Mid/Headphone jack has me worried. I can ONLY use this, if I can make an interface cable that can take seperate mic and earphone connections. I have a piece of hardware that has an audio output and mic input that must be connected to the HP shared mic and headphone jack.
What I don't know is what type of jack or interface the shared jack is. I haven't found anyone who can tell me for sure.
1) Is it a propietary device interface?
2) Does it accept a 2, 3 or 4 connection plug?
3) Is it a standard length or is it a special plug that can only be obtained from HP?
4) Can the mic and earphone connection be used at the same time?
5) What is the plug connection description (tip, 1st contact, 2nd contact, etc)?
I'm hoping it's just a 4 connection plug with standard stereo earphone for the first 3 contacts, and a fourth contact for a mic input. But I need to know for sure.
If anyone has a device that uses this jack, that has BOTH a mic and headphone, that works correctly, can you answer these questions above?
I don't want to buy the HP 1000 series to find out I can't use that jack, for my application.

Since my stereo/mic headset works great with it, I conclude that it is what is called a TRRS jack. I am in the process of ordering a "TRRS plug" Y to 2 "TRS jacks" cable (see http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/009-243.ht). I have every confidence it will work fine.

This is most probably because the Periodicity input value has been configured as "Required" and no value has been input for it.
