What will happen if I compress my Itunes folder? will it cause the information within to be unusable with syncing and such? Or will i have to unzip this folder everytime i want to sync my i phone or i pad?
If I compress my entire iTunes folder, will it make the information in that folder unreachable for syncing my iPhone, iPad 2, etc.... Or will compressing this folder and turning it into a zip file make it that whenever I want to sync something I would need go in and unzip the zip file if there is an update to an older application, or if I wanted to add music to my iPhone from my library which is not already on there?
any information would be appreciated.

yes. you won't be able to use iTunes at all.
if you're running low on space on your boot drive, get an external HD and move your library there.

Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -
I have a used mac computer. I want to sync and update my iphone. Currently itunes tells me that my iphone is connected to a different itunes account and will sync, but delete everything from my phone. How do I make itunes sync and update my phone without deleting all the current information on my phone?
Iphone will sync with one and only one cpomptuer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer. This is the design of the iphone.
It will erase the content when you sync.
Why not update from the comptuer with which you normally sync? -

Iphone 5 - I am trying to delete message threads and once I do, I go to text someone else and it won't send. HELP? I just don't want those messages on my phone anymore. I have tried to restart my phone but when I do, the "deleted" threads show back up on my phone. I use iOS 7.1.

It sounds like you're deleted message threads keep coming back after you restart the devie. I recommend starting by quitting all the running apps on your phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes and then restore it as a new device and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

For no apparent reason my phone stopped working...so I did a reset and got the message 'Restore Needed'. I connected to iTunes and got this message: 'iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on your iPhone before it can be used with iTunes'.
The problem is, I can't enter my passcode because I'm not given that option on the iPhone. All I seem to be able to do is make an emergency call.
It's been working fine otherwise. Any suggestions?
This is the SECOND replacement iPhone I've had this week and I'm getting a bit fed up.

If so reboot your iPhone and enter the passcode to get it operational. Launch Image Capture on the Mac and connect the iPhone. Now you should be able to download the video files to wherever you want on your hard drive.

so with iMessage, i am not getting messages on my 4S, only on my MacBook Pro. I don't want this. I only want texts sent to my phone. HELP!
did that. now getting no messages on anything. opened up messages on the Mac and saw i had been sent many that never showed up on my phone.

My audio files no longer sync to the in the 5d in camera audio. It did when I bought the program but no longer does I reinstalled and it still will not sync the files recorded on the H4N with the Canon 5D Mark II Camera.
The program used to import and transcode the Can 5D footage but no longer does. The program freezes often and looses my projects as well. just got an Ipad and am working on setting it up. the one issue I am having with it is my screen will not rotate no matter what I do to the settings, I can't figure out if I have a setting wrong or if there really is something wrong with my Ipad. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi...I have this problem, everytime I want to print something out the mac asks me for the computer password...that is really becoming annoying after. That happened since I upgraded to mountain lion. How can I stop the computer from asking me that?
If you are printing via a Windows shared printer and it is the Windows user account that you are being prompted for then you can save this in the Keychain, as shown below.

I tried! Everytime i try to turn on my ipod it comes up with the sync to itunes screen. then i try to sync to itunes and i get the above message. i don't get it! I haven't had itunes in quite awhile, it disappeared from my computer sometime ago, and now i tried to download it again and this is what i am getting.

Try connecting the iPod touch to the computer you normally sync it with.

If you cannot remember the passcode or don't have access to the computer that the iPod is normally synced with, you can restore it from recovery mode and set it up as a new device without any data. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 will walk you through restoring from recovery mode.
