When adding ringtones (created by ringtone app) they show in music tab nor tones. the file type in 'get info' is 'ringtone'. Why dont they display in the 'tones' tab in itunes? How can I get them to display under 'tones' not 'music'.
Well, I tried rebuilding the Launch services with the command listed but still no luck. After having no luck with that and deleting caches, etc....I also, went to my home (user) directory and in Preferences, I deleted the com.apple.launchservices.plist file. I restarted and checked and still the same result.
Also, I want to emphasize again that the file type I am discussing DOES actually launch with the correct application. (Cubase files in my example).
But it is just annoying that ALL of my Cubase files display the Pro Tools application icon, and in Get Info they are listed to open with Pro Tools. But they actually do launch Cubase if double clicked.
And one other VITAL note....if I open Get Info for one of these files, and change the Open With from Pro Tools to Cubase....then that choice DOES "stick" and retain. (if I "don't" also click Change All)
It's only when I click "Change All" that it DOESN'T stick and the list selection jumps back to Pro Tools. I hope that may offer some clarity.

You should have your stuff separate from your mom's. Delete all the apps downloaded or purchased with your mom's Apple ID and download or purchase them with your own Apple ID. Back up files and data first if possible.

I have added my hotmail email account to my ipod but when I open/delete emails it is not syncing with my computer. What can I do so that when I delete emails from my ipod, they show up as deleted when I access hotmail from my computer?

When I attach images to an email they show as an image and not an icon. Is there a way to have them attached as an icon?
When I send attachments this way some people can't save them. They can see them but not save them.
Any ideas?They are received as attachments, i.e. icons. What you see is the real image on your disk, and only if small enough to be displayed. Otherwise, they are small icons inserted in the text.
Additionally, when you place an image in the message, you will find an option in the lower right corner, otherwise absent. Use it, if need be. -

We had a MacBook Pro stolen from our home when we were out of town and I am pretty sure we never activated the LoJack type of function on it not sure if its called lojack but you get what I am saying is there any way we can activate such hardware/app now so we can possibly recover our laptop? Tap "View Apple ID"
Enter password if needed
Tap "Country/Region"
Tap "Change Country or Region"

When I attach a JPG file in my email message and send it to a Windows friend they get the message "The file type being saved or retrieved has been blocked when they try to open it so that they can save it." Anyone know why and how to fix this problem?
Your Windows friend should ask in a Windows forum why his email client won't open attached jpg files. We have no idea what email client he is using or how his Windows security is configured.

When adding Custom Text to a slideshow in Aperture, I can no longer centre the text in the text box. Is there something I am missing? I am running Aperture 3.6 on Yosemite. Any ideas gratefully received, thanks.
Which theme are you using?
When I am adding text in a slideshow, I found, that it will depend on the theme, if the text will be centered or flushed left. The Classic and Ken Burns theme are centering the text, the newer themes will present it flushed left.
I found no way to select a custom justification for the text. -

When capturing images from a Nikon D600, they show in Bridge, but when clicked to load into CS6,an error message says that it is the wrong type of document, evne jpeg files. This is a NEW frustration.
Nikon raw files would open up in Adobe Camera Raw and so should jpegs.
If you select one in Bridge and give the command "Ctrl r" (Windows), what happens?

I used to have eight genius mixes and now I have four...I changed the genres around and nothing happened...I've added many more songs since it changed from 8 to 4 mixes...how can I get more again and why did it go from 8 to 4? I had the Hardcore mix and a rap mix and classic rock and grunge mixes...now I don't...I kinda want those back...the mixes I have now make no sense as most the songs on each do not correlate AT ALL to the genre mix they have been placed in. If someone could give me an answer that'd be great.
1. Don't confuse "Apple ID" with iTunes Account ID. You can have many Apple IDs but only one iTunes account active at a time.
2. If you "changed" your iTunes account ID, you actually have 2 accounts - one under the old name plus the new name.
3. You can't merge the accounts - they remain separate. Apps purcahsed under the old account name will update ONLY WHEN THE PHONE IS SIGNED IN TO THE OLD ACCOUNT NAME and visa versa.
4. Likewise, you can sync only the apps, music, media purchased under the account the phone AND iTunes are signed in to. -
How to filter the file type and size when uploadind files into APEX
Hi,
I was wondering how I can do to validate the size of a file, before moving it to my table ? I'd like to filter the file type, but for this one, I think I can use regular expressions in a validation process.
I don't know if there is a way to read the file size even before sending it into the temporary file table.

AFAIK, you have to create an APEX validation (PL/SQL returns Boolean or Returns error text), which will query the file details from apex_flow_files table. Here you can get filetype and size etc.
So just validate and if any validation fails, then delete the file from apex_flow_files and riase error message.

P.S. Please note that, if there are other apex validations on your page and if they fail, still apex will load the file into apex_flow_files table. So it's good idea to create a validation (PL/SQL) which will fire (condition) when inline validation errors occured. Make sure that this is the LAST validation on your page in sequence. And here you can write code to delete the file from apex_flow_files table.
