When AE distributes IP no internet, otherwise PB gets online but not PC
My AE is flashing amber, but my 15"PB is online no problem. My roommates both have pcs, and neither can get internet from the AE, but they can connect and authenticate the WEP. When I choose to distribute using 192... (or the other number schemes) the internet stops for everyone, including my PB and the AE assigns an ip of 192.168.1.1 to itself (when working for PB:169:254:128:58). I am in San Diego, CA using Warner (which is just a DHCP service, no special setup needed for the cable service)

Are you using a cable modem?
Your cable modem has become associated with the MAC Address of the computer, you need to blank the cable modem and then connect the Airport base station.
Power everything down and unplug the cable modem, wait at least 30 minutes, you may need to even wait overnight.
Then connect the Airport base station and see if that works.

In iMovie you can only do two at a time. So the work-around would be to do the green screen/change background color part. Then Share this. Then import this piece back into an event. Then add the picture in picture.
In Final Cut Pro X, you could easily do what you are describing.
The main reason is that iMovie does all rendering in one pass. Final Cut Pro X allows multiple renders as you go along, so you can do much more complex effects. -
I have a iPhone 4S and when watching videos on the internet sound cuts out as the video is playing. The rest of the video plays with no sound. Sometimes when I pause It and play again sound comes back but not all the time. can anyone help?
The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.

I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check. -

I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

If Find My Phone has not been activated on the iPhone before being lost there is nothing more that you can do to locate it with iCloud. The only option is physical search for it.

Yes there is a rotation lock setting.
First try the switch above the volume rocker. If that doesnt work then double click the home button. It should display a multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen. Slide that to the right and it should display a few settings including screen lock. Make sure that it is unchecked. -

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.

Internet running slow on mac but not PC
The internet on my MacBook is running painfully slow both through a wired connection and through my wireless network. The problem happens when utilizing Firefox, Safari, updates and iTunes. It makes it impossible to view Youtube videos and download large software upgrades.
I have tried speedtest.net and the download rate is reasonable, however it does not match the download rate my computer experiences. The download as shown in the dialogue box (when I try to download software updates, photos, etc.) is in the range of 3 - 6 KB/sec but speedtest shows a download speed of 10Mbps.
Any ideas on how I should proceed?
Thank you.bumping because I've been having the same issue ever since I came home from college. basically the situation is that websites load extremely slowly on my mac pro, but not on any other computer (all windows pcs) connected to the same network. I even disconnected my mac pro and plugged in my windows laptop and the connectivity was fine - which makes me think it has something to do with the settings on the mac.
I disabled IPV6 and reboot my mac, router, and modem but to no avail. what's wrong?! has anyone found a definitive solution for this problem? it's very aggravating. -

This happens on a variety of pages. I get the little Loading thing in the tab, with the circle moving. So I X out (to exit Firefox). When I go to restart I get the error message "Another version of FireFox is running, but not responding". I give Windows the "three finger salute", and go to Task Manager, and do not see any reference to Firefox, and the Performance, and Processes seem OK. But it never seems to close the earlier Firefox, and won't let me open a new one. Any suggestions? Super Thanks for your help!Hi Andis.
First of all, this is completely normal behavior, although it's a bit irritating, I know. What happens is that when you close Firefox, despite the window disappearing right there and then, Firefox keeps running for a little bit until the whole closing procedure is completed. This can take a fraction of a second on fast computers, or can take a few seconds on slow computers or when Firefox is storing a large session (if you save your tabs). All you have to do is wait a bit until Firefox closes, and then open it again.
To see if it's still running, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and then, under the Processes tab, you can see if firefox.exe is still there. If it's taking an unusual amount of time to close (which happens very rarely, and only if the browser freezes on exit), you can force the application to terminate from this application (task manager).
Firefox 4.0 will reduce by 97% the time it takes firefox.exe to close, so this problem will be basically erased for Firefox's next version.
Until then, I can recommend you this extension, which helps you restart your browser more easily and without bothering about closing times:

What can I do when web pages with scripting display ok from a server but not locally?
I have html and java script in the same folder path, both on a server and locally. The pages display correctly when accessed from the server, but not when accessed locally. Is there a change I can make to Firefox to solve this problem?
An address starting with c: wouldn't be any kind of domain name. C: is the drive lettering system DOS and and later uses. By default, A: and B: are reserved for your first and second floppy disk drive. All hard drives are then named C: through Z:, if you have that many. C: is normally your startup disk.
Anyway, their PDF file is incorrectly linked to a file directly on the C: drive of someone's computer. It's not going to work no matter what you do.
