When declining a calendar invite, how do I propose an alternative time or add a note?

Using Apple's calendar, how do I decline a calendar invite and propose an alternative time and include a note?

No, I seemed to only get the three options Accept, Decline and Maybe. There are times when I want to decline with a note of why or decline and propose a different time.

  • How do I accept or decline a calendar invitation in iOS8 without sending a response?

This specific scenario is Exchange 2013 and iOS8.
I want to be able to accept/decline/tentative in response to a calendar invitation from my iPhone without sending a response to the inviter.
I do not think Exchange probably has anything to do with it, but that is the set up.
    Thanks!

Decline a call and send it directly to voicemail. Do one of the following:
Press the Sleep/Wake button twice quickly.
Press and hold the center button on your headset for about two seconds. Two low beeps confirm that the call was declined.
Tap Decline (if iPhone is awake when the call comes in).
Respond with a text message instead of answering. Tap Message and choose a reply or tap Custom. To create your own default replies, go to Settings > Phone > Respond with Text, then tap any of the default messages and replace it with your own text.
Remind yourself to return the call. Tap Remind Me and indicate when you want to be reminded.

  • When I get calendar invites there is no option to accept them

I have this issue on both my iPad and iPhone.  When i get a calendar invite in my inbox (for example an exhange invite *.ics) there is no option to accept the invitation.  I can open the event in mail, and view teh details, but there is no way to accept it.  The invite also does not show up as an "invitation" in my calendar, althought it does show up in the actual calendar as an event that has not been accepted.

Just got iPhone 4s and have the exact same problem. These are all Exchange invites done by my assistant from her Outlook. I already exchanged to a new unit and the problem persists. What's more frustrating is that some invites work and some dont. Most do exactly as you describe. No option to accept/decline and go straight to my calendar while the invite on my Outlook sitll shows as unaccepted. The same problem exists if I open the actual iphone calendar notification or the attachment on the email sent by Exchange. It is extremely frustrating.
I have tried everything to try to analyze what is causing this and cant seem to get to the bottom of it and cannot explain the randomness of the problem. I am so dissapointed that iPhone and all its hype cant seem to get plain business functionality as good as Blackberry.
Would love to hear comments on this.

  • Exchange 2007 when sending a calendar invite, a non-existent delegate shows up in an undeliverable message

I had a test user that was removed. When it was removed, it was still listed as a delegate on someone's email. Now, whenever a Calendar invite is sent to the existing user, the sender receives an undeliverable message. The existing user does not receive
notification of a calendar event, but the event does show up in the calendar.

    Hi,
If the delegate user account or mailbox has been removed from domain or Exchange server, please also remove the delegate settings with this account.
If a user is set as a delegate for a manager, the meeting request which is send to the Manager would be forwarded to the delegate automatically and ask for approving in the delegate side.
Please do the following steps in the Manager’s Outlook client to remove the delegate settings for this non-existent delegate:
    1. Open the Manager’s Outlook.
    2. Click File > Account Settings > Delegate Access.
    3. In the Delegate list, click the non-existent delegate, click Remove.
    4. Click OK to save the settings.
Then check whether the issue persists.

  • In Ical I lost one of my calendar group, how do I restore it from time capsule

in Ical i lost one of my calendar groups, how do I get it back.  I have a time capsule.
    thanks

    salvsalinas,
Look in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library Folder, where you will find a "Calendars" Folder, which can be replaced using Time Machine.
Make sure that you quit iCal before attempting to replace the folder, and choose a timeline when the group last existed.
    Good Luck.

  • I created an Apple ID using my ISP Email when I registered at the Store/Apple Support Communities/iTunes/Face Time and it does not work in iChat. Why Not ?

    Question:-
I created an Apple ID using my ISP Email when I registered at the Store/Apple Support Communities/iTunes/Face Time or other portal and it does not work in iChat. Why Not ?
    Answer:-
For a Name to work in iChat it has to be an Valid AIM screen Name.
Only Apple IDs from the @mac.com ending names registered here  and the Mobileme (@Me.com ending) names are Valid with the AIM service as well as being Apple IDs
(I am still working on info about registering with iCloud at the moment but if this does give you an @Me.com email it may well be a valid AIM name as well)
    NOTES:-
The @mac.com page works by linking an external (Non Apple) email with a @mac.com name.
This External Email cannot be one linked to an Existing Apple ID (you have to use a second email or register at AIM )
The options at AIM are to use your existing email or create new name and link the existing only for Password recovery
MobileMe (@me.com ending names) were valid Emails addresses, Apple IDs AND a Valid AIM Screen Name
@mac.com names look like emails but are only Apple IDs and iChat/AIM Valid Screen Names.
The AIM registration page seems to be pushing you to register [email protected] This is relatively new and I have not followed through the pages to find out if it a valid AIM email (Previously you could register a name without an @whatever.com suffix)

    Question:-
So I have my current [email protected] email in iChat as I thought as I had linked that to an Apple ID it was a Valid iChat Name.  It keeps coming up with a UserName or Password Invalid message.  What do I do next ?
    Answer:-
    Open iChat
Go to the Menu under the iChat name in the Menu Bar and then Preferences and then Accounts in the new window.
Commonly written as iChat > Preferences > Accounts as directions/actions to take.
If it displays with a Yellow running name in the list you have a choice.
Either register it at AIM (I would use a different password to the ISP Login) and then change the password only in iChat  (It may take you to confirm any Confirmation email from AIM first) in iChat > Preferences > Accounts
Or you register a new Name at AIM (Or at @mac.com) and enter that (details below)
If you have a Blue Globe name  (@mac.com) that will not Login the chances are that it the password that is the issue.
Apple lets you create longer passwords than can be used with the AIM Servers.
Change the Password at iForgot to no more than 16 characters.
Then change the password in iChat as details above.
Adding a new Account/Screen Name in iChat (that is valid with the AIM servers)
    Open iChat if not launched.
Go to iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts
Click the Add ( + )  Button at the bottom of the list.
Choose in the top item drop down either @Mac.com or AIM depending on what you registered
Add the name (with @mac.com the software will add the @mac.com bit)
Add in the password.  (If you don't add it now iChat will ask you each time you open it)
    Click Done.
The Buddy List should open (New Window)
The Accounts part of the Preferences should now have the new name and you should be looking at the details.
You can add something in the Description line which will then title the Buddy List (Useful when you have two or more names) and make it show up as that in the iChat Menu > Accounts and the Window Menu of iChat when logged in.
You can then highlight any other Account/Screen Name you don't want to use and use the Minus ( - ) Button to delete it.

  • When sending a calendar invite to any email address (regardless of provider) that is associated with an Apple ID will not get the invite. Any email address not associated with Apple ID will. Why? Using iOS 6.0.1, iPad, iPhone and PC.

I have sent an invite to an email associated to an Apple ID and that email never received the invite. I then changed the email associated with the receiving Apple ID to something new and removed the original email address (the original email address is no longer associated with any apple ID even as the alternate). I then cancelled the first appointment, created a new appointment and again invited the original email address. That original email address then received the canceled appointment notification and the new appointment invite. This problem is not just with my Apple ID (sending or receiving) but several other people that have tested sending iCloud invites to other Apple ID users. Any thoughts?

  • I cannot get ics calendar invites from Outlook to display the correct time in iCal even though the correct time is in the description. This seems to be a common problem but I cannot find an answer. Please help.

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

Create new date rule and assign it to end date type.
the code for the rule is...

  • Calendar invitation e-mail address garbled

When creating iOS Calendar invitation e-mail address is garbled by iOS. Have anyone seen the same? This is different than other reported bugs in this forum with topic Calendar invitations not sent.
This is how I did invitation.
    1. Create invitation
    2. Invite by entering e-mail, NOT contact, example: [email protected]
    3. iOS will notify that mynameadrcom is not a valid e-mail address, i.e., e-mail address with ALL dots and @ removed! See picture below, with parts of address hidden.
I have the same bug in ML 10.8.2. However, no warning, no logs, "only" effect is that invitation is NOT sent.
    Best regards,
    Claes

I am attempting to give access to two new users and both have received the e-mail invitation. However when clicking the "Join your IT team on Spiceworks" link they eventually timeout/"This page can't be displayed". The links begins with http://track.spiceworks.com/track/click/... (the click tracking links are very long) and never redirects to the local server. I added a user two weeks ago without experiencing this issue.

  • Sending calendar invites to Blackberry user

I just switched to an iPhone, from my beloved BlackBerry!  I used to send meeting invites to my husband so he would know where and when kids and I woul be, and if he was required to attend or drive, etc, and other necessary information.  How can I send him calendar invites with my iPhone 5?

    Hey insidespin,
This feature would not be available for a POP or IMAP accounts, this feature would require an email account that uses CALDAV or Activesync.
    Thanks.

  • Don't send responses to Calendar invites on iPhone

Quick question. I tried a search and didn't find anything.
On my old phone (Treo 750) I had the ability to accept, decline or tentatively accept invitations - but the big thing I loved was that I didn't need to send a response to the original sender. I was given the option to edit response, send response, or decline to send response.
Does anyone know if its possible to take action on a calendar invite, but not to send the response to the meeting owner?

    1) I don't see a way to not send a reply when accepting/declining a calendar invite on the iPhone. Definitely an omission.
    2) I also get calendar invites for entries I set up myself, as if I need to respond to them. Doesn't make sense, can't figure it out.
UPDATE - when I reply to someone else's invite on my PC, it pushes another invite to my calendar inbox. Why do I need to reply on the iPhone when I already have on my PC???

  • Outlook calendar invitations not showing in email

    I use Outlook with OSX10.9.5.
When I receive calendar invites, they don't come up in my email, so unless I scroll through my calendar looking for them, I don't know I've been invited. I used to get emails but suddenly they've stopped.  I've gone through preferences with a fine tooth comb and can't find anything related to this.  Please help.

Yes, all of my recurring events that do sync were created years ago in Outlook and I had no problem syncing them to my Blackberry Bold way back when. Initially when I got my iphone 4, everything synced both ways and then this year I got an iPad and intitally everything synced with it via iTunes/outlook with no problem. I've only noticed this problem within the last month or so and it drove me crazy. I reset both my ios devices but I refuse to uninstall and reinstall Outlook or iTunes. I've seen tons of posts on here that say it afffects the cloud, exchange servers and itunes so it's not just us. I've sent feedback to Apple and received no response. Others have too. Apple is aware of it and doesn't have a clue what to do about it. It now affects other events for me so I'm thinking maybe it has to do with default reminders and other things between Outlook and the ios devices. Maybe and update to iTunes or ios6 will change that, who knows. I still love my iPhone and would't go back to Blackberry; it's just way to slow for me.

  • Exchange 2010 Calendar & invite time issue

I have started getting complaints from some users indicating that when they accept calendar invites, they sometimes are out of sync by an hour. Normally, when you look at two users calendars, you are looking at it in your timezone, and as such, any meetings
or invites that you have in common would appear on the same line.
What we see is in some cases, they are an hour apart, and it does not seem to matter if both people are in the same time zone or a different one. In one case, one user is in MST and the other is in EST, in another, both are in MST, and when I look at two
users calendars that are showing hte issue, I can see it and I'm in CST. I have also looked at the calendars in OWA, so it does appear to be something server-side.
It also does not appear to be all the time. Sometimes they will go through properly, and other times, they come through wrong. Sometimes when the organizer updates the meeting and sends the update, it fixes it on the other person's calendar.
I've looked around and there oare other similar issues, one of which indicated installing KB2863058 and rebooting the server fixed it, but that KB is applied on my server (Was applied in September), and while it may or may not be installed on the clients
that are affected, near as I can tell, that KB has no effect on US time zones, so that *shouldn't* be causing this.
I've also read about multiple copies of CDO.DLL causing it, but the only copy was found in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\ExchangeMapi' (I have BES 5 on the server, although technically, I could remove it if not needed as no one is using Blackberries any more).
There are a bunch of 'cdosys.dll' and 'cdosys.dll.mui. All of the 'cdosys.dll' have a modified date of 6/6/2012 with two sized: one for the 64-bit version and one for the 32-bit version.
Has anyone seen this kind of issue before? Any thoughts to a cause and resolution?

    Hi,
Do all the calendar invites show incorrect times or some specific ones?
    As what Ed says, please
check the time, time zone and daylight savings time
    settings
    respectively in Windows
Control Panel’s Date and Time applet of all computers, OWA settings,
Outlook Options. Make sure that they are the same values. Also check whether the invites are sent by the same organizer.
If all configurations are proper, please create a new calendar invites respectively in OWA and Outlook. Then send it to the problematic users to check whether the issue persists.
    Thanks,
