When/how does VTP issue vlan config changes?

Hi,
On my VTP server switch I renamed a vlan. Does this change automatically get sent out after a set period of time or am I supposed to enter a command myself?
Thanks

Subset Advertisements
When you add, delete, or change a VLAN in a Catalyst, the server Catalyst where the changes were made increments the configuration revision and issues a summary advertisement, followed by one or several subset advertisements. A subset advertisement contains a list of VLAN information. If there are several VLANs, more than one subset advertisement may be required to advertise them all.

  • How Does EJB 2.0 Specification Change the BC4J?

    Hi,
    I had read the while paper of BC4J thoroughly. The following statement interested me:
    "As Oracle9iAS, WebLogic, and other J2EE application server vendors begin to rollout complete support for the new EJB 2.0 specification in the first half of 2002, a new release of the BC4J framework will be released which includes support for the new local entity beans. This work entails enhancing our lightweight, local entity classes to support the necessary interface to be lightweight EJB 2.0 Local Entity Beans. ...."
    I have searched all the documents about BC4J, but I couldn't find anything more about "How Does EJB 2.0 Specification Change the BC4J?"
    I think the "Local EJB Entity Beans" is similar with BC4J DAO. So is there someone who can tell me how does EJB 2.0 Specification change the BC4J?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    James

    We support using local CMP entity beans as your persistence layer for your entity objects, but as it adds an extra layer, it's turned out (in all honesty) to not be that popular a feature.
    The performance offered by the simpler BC4J entity object (plain old java class) is fine, and the notion of using simple java beans for your model is widely recognized as a fine option for J2EE applications.
    For example, check out Rod Johnson's book called "Expert one-to-one: J2EE Design and Development" which covers this subject excellently.

  • How does Goods Issue know which Batches to deallocate from A/R Credit Memo?

    Hi,
    I am creating an addon that runs after a A/R Credit Memo is created.  It creates a Goods Issue, and enters the Item Code and the Quantity from the line items on the Credit Memo into the Goods Issue.
    After it writes the Goods Issue to SAP, I open up the document it created and see that the line items are in there correctly, and that somehow the batches assigned to those line items are also in there.
    There is nothing in the code that does anything with the Batches, but somehow SAP knows which batches to work with.
    I haven't been able to find any info about it.  Can you please help us understand what is happening?  How does SAP know and make assignments to batches in line items in Goods Issues?
    Thank you,
    Mike

    Hi Michael and Gordon,
    Sorry Gordon, I'm quite sure you misunderstood Michael original question. Michael asked how the add-on he created could link corresponding batch number from an A/R Credit Memo document could be selected by Goods Issue document which generated by the add-on, while he actually never wrote a code to select any batches numbers which available in the system.
    Maybe a little bit of illustration:
    1. Item A, qty 10 - (batch A qty 5, batch B qty 3, batch C qty 2)
    2. A/R Credit Memo occurred, return of Item A with 3 qty (batch A qty 1, batch B qty 1, batch D qty 1). Therefore, item A latest position should be (batch A qty 6, batch B qty 4, batch C qty 2, batch D qty 1). This A/R Credit Memo created by add-on.
    3. Goods Issue document triggered by add-on. The problem is, Michael never write any code to select any batch numbers, and somehow the system choose batch number precisely as occurred in number 2 (A/R Credit Memo document), which is (batch A qty 1, batch B qty 1, batch D qty 1). Therefore the stock position for Item A back to as being displayed in number 1.
    I believe this shouldn't be possible at all. Unless, there is a certain mechanism in SAP that automatically choose batch number to used in Goods Issue document using LIFO (Last In First Out), which is, as far as I know never exist in any SAP B1 version. Yes you could automatically choose batch numbers according to available batch, but you could do this when system prompt you when you tried to issue certain document using SAP application itself, not using add-on.
    And of course, you could write a code to choose certain batches based on certain A/R Credit Memo, but still, you need to write a code, you can't do this without a code, selection of batches is compulsory when you tried to add a goods issue document which consist of items that managed using batches.
    In my opinion, I think it is better for you to re-write those codes and relate batches you want to attach with your Goods Issue document based on corresponding A/R Credit Memo. It is much safer, and the error message you encountered won't happen again in the future.

  • How does the delta works for changes made to Sales Document

    Hi Experts,
    How does delta for 2LIS_11_VAITM for the changes made to Sales Order Header.....
    Example:
    If a sales order had 10 line items any changes at the item level are captured by 2LIS_11_VAITM
    Could you please update me on how the changes made at Sale Order Header level like Change of contract Date...etc
    Does those changes are captured by 2LIS_11_VAITM.......
    Please update

    Hi,
    SAP written lots of programs inside the Extractor, so it is not possible to tell how it will work, so you goto RSA2 in ecc and give the datasource and click on display and see the Function module and debug it you will know.
    Thanks

  • How does Timeature tell Aperture something changed?

    Does anyone know how Timeature communicates with Aperture? I know you can ask Aperture what photos are selected through Automator, but how do you tell Aperture to reread a photo? I have no idea how this sort of thing works, but it seems like it would be useful for other things, like using a Preview Automator action to flip pictures horizontally.
    nathan

    JRG,
    I don't think that's quite true. The way I've used Timeature was to 1) Select photos in Aperture Browser, 2) Launch Timeature, 3) Tell Timeature to grab all selected photos from Aperture, 4) Modify date and go.
    Then when I returned to the Aperture window from the Timeature window, Aperture would have a different folder or project selected, and when I re-selected my original project, I could see that the images' dates were all modified, without ever actually closing Aperture. It might be true that Timeature modifies Aperture's database and XML data, but then it somehow notifies Aperture of the change.

  • How does MDNS AP VLAN aggregation feature work on 6.4.3.and how is it implemented?

    Requirement:
    This feature enables the wired mDNS/SSDP devices which are not directly connected to controller or not trunked in the controller to be discovered through mDNS/SSDP messages.This may be a requirement in some installations where the mDNS/SSDP device is connected to a switch and is part of a VLAN which is not trunked in the controller.
    There are currently 3 use-cases depends on the network topology for now.
    Use-case#1
    If AP uplink is an access port with access VLAN x, AP does mDNS aggregation for VLAN x.
    Requirements
    VLAN needs to be created on controller using command “vlan x”
    Native VLAN ID needs to be configured in system profile as vlan x
    Enable multicast aggregation knob in ap-system profile
    Use-case#2
    If AP uplink is trunk port with native vlan as x (no uplink-vlan configured for AP), AP does mDNS aggregation for VLAN x.
    Requirements
    VLAN needs to be created on controller using command “vlan x”
    Native VLAN ID needs to be configured in system profile as vlan x
    Enable multicast aggregation knob in ap-system profile
    Use-case#3
    If AP uplink is trunk port with native vlan as x, allowed vlans as x,y,z and ‘uplink-vlan’ configured as vlan y for AP. In this case AP does mdns aggregation for VLAN y
    Requirements
    Uplink-vlan needs to be configured as vlan y in ap’s provisioning   parameters and reboot ap
    VLAN needs to be created on controller using command “vlan y”
    Native VLAN ID is configured in system profile as vlan x
    Enable multicast aggregation knob in ap-system profile
    Solution:
    Configuration Knob ap-multicast-aggregation is provided under ap system profile to configure and by default it is disabled.
    Tunnel 0x8000 shall be created between the Wireless Controller and the AP  if both ap-multicast-aggregation knob and Airgroup knob  is enabled.
    The AP uplink vlan will be used for the tunnel if provisioned otherwise the Native Vlan shall be used.
    The AP work will be to collect mDNS packets from the wired devices which are part of the same VLAN and redirect it to the tunnel. It will also redirect the mDNS traffic from controller to the AP uplink.
    The Native VLAN or the Uplink VLAN whichever is used for the Split tunnel should be the same VLAN which the wired Airgroup device belongs.
    The VLAN in which the wired mDNS device terminates needs to be configured in the controller. No need to create an SVI for it or attach port to it.
    In case the Multicast AP aggregation knob is tuned ON from an OFF state then an mDNS/SSDP device discovery packet will sent for the VLAN in which the Split tunnel is created if the Airgroup knob is also ON
    Network Diagram
    Configuration:
    Navigate to Configuration > Advanced Services > All Profiles, Under Profiles ,select AP>AP System> <Profile-Name> Under Basic >General, select the checkbox next to AP multicast aggregation  >Click Apply
    Find below screenshot.
    Verification
    Recommended
    Ensure that this feature is turned on for a single AP per VLAN per controller.
    If the feature is enabled on two APs belonging  to same VLAN but terminating on different controllers, then these controllers should be part of the same AirGroup domain.
    Verification
    Make sure airgroup feature is turned on along with this knob by command "show airgroup status"
    MDNS AP VLAN aggregation enabled from AP system profile.
    Limitations
    mDNS aggregation by AP feature is not supported on RAP,  Mesh APs and Remote Mesh Portal.

    The duplication is unnecessary. Exporting creates a duplicate of the file. So now you'll have a duplicate of a duplicate. Exporting is not "working on" a file.
    No it's not merging, it's exporting from one to the Finder and into another. No matter what lose something. If you export the Original you leave behind all the work you've done in iPhoto. If you export anything else, you lose the non-destructive editing and the ability to revert to the original. With merging you preserve that work. Yes, you can trash the old Library when you have completed the manoevre but no it's not the same thing as merging.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
    has details of the options in the Export dialogue. But in brief:
    Current gets you the iPhoto Preview, used for sharing via media browsers. It's a jpg, medium quality missing metadata. Original gets the file you imported, unchanged and then you can export different version of the current version at different qualities. If you choose to export anything except the Original you do not get a Raw. There's no such thing as an "edited Raw", and you lose the connection between the original and the exported version. That means you've taken a non-destructive workflow and turned it into a destructive one.
    The Tiff will certainly be higher qulaity and less likely to suffer generational loss in future editing but the file sizes are vast, often more than 10 times the size of the jpeg.
    Put it this way, it would be cheaper to buy Library Manager than the disk you'll need to contain all the Tiffs. Unless you plan on a lot of editing, I'd go for a high quality jpeg as a reasonable compromise.
    To be clear:
    So, I guess my new question is, how can I edit the Raw image and keep it in a RAW format that IPhoto recognizes so that I can reprocess without any loss at a future time, or is it that once you edit a RAW image, then it is no longer a RAW image?
    Once you edit a Raw it can no longer be a Raw. End of.

  • How does one check for view changes to avoid unnecessary reprovision?

    I have a couple of ActiveSync resources that I setup custom userforms and workflows for to sync up only a couple of attributes from each one. With ActiveSync whenever a user account is modified it processes the modified account no matter which attributes were actually modified. For example, if I want to sync the email attribute from an Active Directory resource the ActiveSync workflow receives modification events for all changes to Active Directory accounts, not just email. With my simple workflow what often happens is that I reprovision the accounts even when no changes are made. The downside of this is that the Lighthouse account is marked as being modifed by the ActiveSync proxy user even though no real changes were made and extraneous server tasks are generated that have no results.
    In my workflow I would like to somehow predetermine if the reprovision will actually make changes and if not cancel the workflow. Is there some utility class that I can use to check for modifications or some option I can pass into the reprovision workflow to accomplish this? I probably could check the user.update.accounts[resource].changes before calling reprovision but that would seem to require a lot of express coding and comparisons.

    I don't have an answer for you but I do have a question. I have been researching the issue of which channels in the 2.4 band are permitted according to law in the various countries in Europe. We have offices in Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands and England and I was wondering which channels we are permitted to use. Do you know or could you point me to a document I could read?

  • When/how does the UNinstaller get called?

    This simple demo. of using the ExtensionInstallerService
    has me confused..
    http://www.physci.org/jws/application.jnlp
    It behaves as I expect on installation.
    At time of installation, the user is prompted to
    accept a psuedo 'license agreement'.
    If they accept it, the application is launched.
    If they refuse it, it is not launched.
    If they refuse it, they can try again later and
    the EULA dialog will be shown again, and
    will continue to be shown, each launch, as
    many times as the user refuses it.
    But how/when is the uninstall option called?
    In this example, I used the uninstaller option
    simply to thank the user for using the application.
    However, I do not ever see the 'thanks' dialog.
    So far I have tried uninstalling the app. from both
    the Java Control Panel, as well as Windows own
    Add/Remove Programs dialog.
    Does it work for anybody else?
    The source for the installer that I am currently
    using is as follows.
    package test;
    import javax.swing.*;
    // classes of the web-start API, used in this example.
    import javax.jnlp.ExtensionInstallerService;

            (ExtensionInstallerService)ServiceManager.
              lookup("javax.jnlp.ExtensionInstallerService");
          /* We do not need the progress bar as progress
          is determined by the user accepting the EULA.
          They can consider it as long as they like. */
          installerService.hideProgressBar();

          } else {
            JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,
              "Perhaps another time..");
            installerService.installFailed();
        } catch (UnavailableServiceException e) {

        if ( args[0].equals("install") ) {
          Installer installer = new Installer();
        } else {

          but thank the user for their patronage */
          JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,
            "Thank you for using (Trivial) Application!");
    }

    I submitted a Bug Report for this, under the title..
    installer-desc UNinstaller never called
    The basic gist of it is..
    Java web start (JWS) offers the installer-desc
    element to identify an installer/uninstaller
    for an application. The intent of the installer
    is to do any application set-up/pull-down that
    can not be handled by the standard JWS behaviour
    of caching the classes/resources at 1st launch,
    and clearing them at uninstall.
    The 'install' side of the installer-desc element
    seems to work as advertised, but as has been noted
    in the web start forum a number of times*, the
    installer is never called at time of 'uninstall'.
    * Though none reported successful resolution of
    the problem, it also seems no one took it through
    to a bug report.

  • How does iTunes check if files change?

    I used MP3Gain to smooth the volume levels of my whole iTune directory. I get the feeling that it touched hundreds of files. When I synced, iTunes updated a suspiciously small number of songs. How can I check, if a given song is up-to-date between iTunes and iPod or not? What's the algorithm to decide, whethet a song file needs to be updated? The Windows change date? Is this reliable, or could MP3Gain modify it so that it stays the same?
    Is there a way to force the update of songs manually, without resetting the iPod (besides fake "changes")?
    PC   Windows XP Pro

    My guess is that if you use an application outside of iTunes and make changes to the source files, iTunes will not know they are changed. iTunes only would update songs on the iPod if you make a chance to them within iTunes.
    If you want to be absolutely sure all the tunes are updated in your iPod, then you will want to remove them all from the iPod and get everything re-synced back into the iPod.

  • How does FDS Data syncronization and change tracking works? example needed

    Hi All,

    syncronization works with an example..........
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi HustLiliAn,
    Thank you very much for you quick reply. I have to say sorry that my code is only partially belonging to me so I cannot distribute all of them, beg your understanding
    To overcome the delay, I open both Tx and Rx session at the beginning of the code so I don't need to initial and abort session before and after using respectively. It could save a lot of time (I measure the same delay as you shown). I read from WBX application notes (http://files.ettus.com/uhd_docs/manual/html/dboards.html) that if the system is working in the duplex mode, then antenna TX/RX is using for transmission and RX2 is using for reception. I simply tested it and it seems true.
    Since two antennas are working concurrently, the receiving antenna (RX2) can receive packet even it is sent by TX/RX. My problem is, in software level I have used the if structure to make transmission and reception work successively, RX2 can still receive signal sent by TX/RX. That is the real problem. Probably we can write some compensation VI which we can remove it by using the transmitted signal, but I still want to know is there any official solution for it.
    BTW, I use the modulation toolkit. Its demodulation VI is also quite slow.
    Thank you for your reading. I am not a native English speaker, so if my post make you confuse, please let me know and I would like to elaborate it again.

    McAfee AntiVirus by any chance? See the thread Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml?
    Or it could be an issue with the SC Info folder. See TS1277 - iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization for details.
    Or a repair install of iTunes from the Programs and Features control panel might fix the problem.

    why does the Date Created metadata change when images are exported?  How do I stop it from changing? I must have a prefernce set up wrong.

    I don't know what OS you are using, or what application you are using to view the data about your exported files, but on Windows and using Windows Explorer the "Date Created" field relates only to the date that the exported file was created, i.e. if viewed immediately after export it will show the date created as being the same date. In order to view "Capture Date" in something like Explorer, you first have to ensure you have included the Metadata as Conrad outlined above, then you have to adjust the display properties of Explorer to show the "Date Taken" field. Here is an example, part of a folder I exported back on March 3rd, note the difference between that last two dates:
