Very Low Volume on Phone Calls - Can barely hear the other person
Just picked up my iPhone 4 at the Apple Store. Tried to make a phone call the the call volume is so low I can barely hear the other person calling.
The speaker volume is not much better. The other person can hear me fine and says the sound is great.
The volume dots are all the way up.
The settings sound voulme under ringer is all the way up.
ipod volume lock is not activated.
Any other settings to check out?OK now I don't feel like I'm the only one. I've also done a hard reset and still suffer from the same issue.
Since it seems to be the popular question, no the plastic is no longer on my phone.
To call the volume I'm hearing a whisper would be a overstatement. This is a much bigger issue than the antenna. The phone is basically unusable without headphones. Unfortunately I'm not very close to a Apple store to exchange. -

Did you try turning up the volume button on the left side, Also go into your settings>sounds and try to change the volume.

From my Ipad, when I am in Facebook, I can not hear the videos posted to my FB page...Sounds works on all other apps just not my videos on my FB page.

Just recently, I have encountered a problem with my iPhone. When someone calls, I can clearly hear the caller, but the caller cannot hear me speak. Sometimes the problem is nt there and works properly, but most of the times, I am facing this problem. Does anyone have Suggestions on improving my earpiece? Can;t hear the caller when I call someone or they call me?
I have had this happen to me on 3GS, 4 and 4s. Usually the solution is one of the following:
1- If your volume indicator says headphones even though they are not plugged in, then:
Stick your headphones into the headphone jack and then remove quickly.
2. If that does not work Power your phone off. Then when restarting Reset the phone by pressing the home button and the power button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
3. Make sure you have not chosen to send audio to an Airplay device such as Apple Tv.

Can barely hear the results in SpaceDesigner when used as Sidechain??
Hey guys I have a question, when I slap a Space Designer in an Aux channel and use it as a send effect to a track why is it that I can hardly hear the difference? But when I put a compressor on the Aux channel right after the Space Designer I can then hear the difference?
So ya. I'm sure something is not right, I shouldn't have to put a compressor everytime i wanna use a Reverb....right??What might be going wrong is if you also set space designer to an amount of 'dry' signal (upper right 1/4 circular fader). Normally, if you set the amount of reverb in SD to -10 dB and the dry amount to -∞ dB, and the send level between -10 and 0, you'll get a noticeable amount of reverb.
So there are three ways to increase the amount of reverb: increasing the send level, increasing the ampount of 'wet' in SD, or upping the fader on the bus itself. I tend to use that initially, as it keeps the reverbs proportional when multiple tracks send to it. The 'wet' fader in SD basically does the same, but I like to park that around -6dB and balance it by using the AUX fader and of course the different send levels.
O, and another tip: listen to reverb levels thru speakers, not thru headphones. It can sound okay via headphones, but then the monitors can reveal you are actually drowning things in reverb. I treat it as a spice: you should only notice it when it is gone, it should (generally) not dominate the mix.

Dear Deborah, I just received my latest iPhone, iPhone 4S and I am experiencing a similar problem. For a hard-of-hearing person this problem might be too much. I have not reset my new phone yet but I am going to do so soon. I will see what happens.
Another question: How about those ringtones? The iPhone seems to reset itself to the default ringtone constantly eventhough I have put individual ringtones to my contacts. Any ideas how to solve this one? -
I can't hear the caller's voice from my iphone 4
My iphone 4 has been working all fine early this morning until around 10:30am I suddenly could no longer hear the caller's voice when answering / making a call while people can hear my voice. I've switched off the phone twice but didn't help. The speaker appears to be normal as the phone still rings. Can anyone help?
iTunes, you must Update or Restore the Firmware to iOS 5.1.1 the first time (to system 5) with iTunes. After that you can update via the Air.
