You know when your ipad mini is dead you hold the power and it will tell you to put your charger in, even when i put my charger in it still doesnt work.
SOMEONE PLZ HELP I AM SO SCAREDIf you have a different charger, try it. If not, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple service provider to have the hardware checked.

Tecra M5: DVD drive does not read these mini DVDs
I have canon dvd handycam, and mini dvd works on it. One month back i recorded movie and pictures on mini dvd using handycam and ran mini dvd on my tecra M5 dvd drive, it worked very fine.
Now after 1 month i have 5 mini dvds with movies and pictures which i took on 1 month vacation in diffierent countries, i tried my best but tecra dvd drive does not read these mini dvd, cd drive label appears instead dvd drive when i put mini dvd in it.
All other standard size dvds, cds working fine on it.Its complicated and as well as irritating.
Any suggestions?
Why its messedup?Seems the lens cannot read this miniDVDs. Possibly the drive lens cannot calibrate and therefore the miniDVDs are nonreadable.
Try the solution from sascha. Maybe youre a lucky man and it works.
If not, try to remove the drive physically from the notebook. Reboot the notebook without the drive. The Windows and BIOS shouldnt recognize the drive.
Then shuts down again, put the drive into the notebook and boot up the unit.
The notebook should recognize the drive and should indicate the firmware again.

I just bought a powerbook and a mini dvd camcorder. I really love my mac but I'm a little disappointed that I can't load mini DVDs onto it. I used an external drive and had all kinds of problems. Any advice.

Using side loading dvd drive with mini dvds
I am setting up a holiday project for my neices and nephew to make video christmas cards using photos and video from all year. The video is stored on the mini dvds that my sister uses in her Sony video camera. I have never tried to load a mini dvd into the imac since it doesn't have a tray. Has anyone ever done this?
Please advise.You should not use the mini-DVs or mini-CDs in a slot loading iMac. If you do insert one of those discs you may have to disassemble the iMac and the drive to get the disc out.
BTW, this is the discussion area for the iMac G4.
The iMac G4 has a tray-loading drive.
If your iMac doesn't have a tray it is not an iMac G4. -

Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90-day timer. You must wait 90 days from the day the device was first associated with your Apple ID before it can be associated with another Apple ID.

I converted from a PC to a Mac Mini. I have my PC documents backed up on a DVD disk. I have an external DVD drive connected to the Mac Mini. I want to open these documents up from the DVD storage and save them to the Mac, BUT....when I put the DVD disk in the Mac is NOT reading it!

Thanks for your quick response. I should add....it worked before. When I previously inserted the two DVDs into this remote drive, and I went into finder, I could click on the "remote device" line and see all my saved documents (excel, word, etc) on the DVD and open them on the Mac. Now I cannot see them, when I try to open them on the Mac, nothing happens, nothing is displayed. I just re-tested the remote DVD drive with a CD and, no problem, it opened up the CD via iTunes and I cold play the CD. SO......I know the remote DVD drive (it's an LG by the way) is fine, it's something to do with some settings on my mini mac,especially where I could open it previously. I do not remember changing any settings since then.
When I go into system preferences and click on CD/DVD it gives me options of how to open up a music CD (default is iTunes), a DVD (default is iMovie), etc. The problem is my DVD is all miscellaneious files/documents. I just want to be able to see them in the finder. I also tried to open them via microsoft word, from the remote disk and again, it could not open the drive, even though some of the documents were microsoft word documents. Again, I was able to open them previously and the DVD is not corrupted in any way.
Any additional advice?

I bought garage band from the app store and downloaded it to my mac mini. When i try to open a screen comes up explaining i need to down load missing files. I do this but when try to open GB again the same thing keeps happening! Can anyone help.

In similar cases it helped to remove the GarageBand "Preferences" file from the User Library.
Open the folder
your home folder > Library > Preferences
and move the file "com.apple.garageband.plist" to the Desktop.
Then try again to launch GarageBand.

Hi, hope someone can help me with this one. I've been using apple TV to connect my Imac and new Phillips smart TV. Until recently there have been no problems. Now when I launch a DVD disk in the Imac, the screen goes chequered, like a chess board, and the Tv shows the same. I've tried with three different DVDs but with the same result. Everything else works fine, music videos play and so too music files.Thanks!
it's by design it's the encryption of the dvd which block it
the same thing would happen if you used remote desktop or some of those solutions
some people repport that VLC player works but that could only be the case if they violate the DRM of the dvd in terms of breaking the encryption -

You broke it, you will need to get it serviced or replaced. The drop voided your warranty so you would have to do an out-of-warranty replacement with Apple.

The ipad music app does not allow me to play certain tracks that i have synced via my itunes. The tracks are clearly visibly in the music app but when tap on them to play they wont play. what do i do?
Agree about the disaster part. I haven't found a fix within iTunes.
I gave up and switched to downcast 2 days ago. Even though it was a hassle to re-subscribe to all my podcasts, im so much happier.
To make switching easier, I found that in iTunes you can "get info" on the podcast and copy the RSS address to the clipboard. Put all of these in a message note. When iCloud syncs the note to your phone, you can copy and paste the urls into downcast one at a time to subscribe.
Downcast has crashed on me occassionally when I'm subscribing to feeds, but so far it has recovered gracefully each time and no data was lost. -
I just bought a new CD and I imported the songs to my iTunes but when I want to sync them to my IPod they wont sync? Why is this?
Yes they play in itunes and yes I did use the iTumes imports CD feature. Im listening to the songs from the CD right now from my iTunes but they just don't sync to my IPOD Touch when I want to sync?

Why wont itunes open when I put a dvd in the computer? It opens in windows media player. I want to transfer a dvd to my ipod.Have you tried to click on "repair" and then try to uninstall the component?
