When i try to sync ipod on itunes, it only charges. HELP ??
When i plug my ipod into the computer with itunes open, it usually pops up and lets me sync music, but now when i plug it up it only starts charging and does not register to itunes. HELP PLEASE
See if you have most of the songs with 'Exclamation' symbol precede the name under your music library.
If so, double click a song with ! mark on side, you will be given an option to locate the file where the song is held. Select "locate" and direct it to your External Drive folder / file where the song is and open it.
iTunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will fix all automatically instead of doing them one by one.

When I try syncing music from my library to my ipod, I get the message that it lost connection. My ipod is plugged in to the computer though. Does anyone know how to fix this?
How is your iPod configured to sync music? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs in iTunes?
Maybe have a look at this article as well to verify your iPod is set up for syncing music.

Please help. I have no idea why this is happening and I'm kinda new to using iTunes. I'm trying to sync music from a playlist on my iTunes account onto my iPod Shuffle (older Shuffle). I use Windows XP on my laptop. When I try moving the songs to the iPod it says the iPod is synced to another library. I didn't know I had another library (but I guess it is possible because I used iTunes a few years ago too).
The only option I get is to delete the music already on the iPod and sync the iPod to "this" library. I really don't want to lose the music already on the iPod. PLEASE HELP. I'm tech challenged to say the least.See this post.

I recently installed Itunes on a computer with windows xp. At first it recognized my Iphone 4s and Ipod classic 160 g. Went through the standard procedure for registering both products and everything seemed fine. Then I started importing my cd collection with the intention of syncing them to my ipod classic.
I should mention that my previous computer crashed with my original Itunes account(that went with my ipod classic). I didn't know how to recover it so I just started over. When I tried to sync it with my cd collection everything locked up. Itunes and my computer froze up to the point where i had to do a "hard shut off". Although, it still accepts my iphone with no problem. How do I sync both on the same itunes account? The problem is likely iTunes 10.5, which has loads of sync problems with the iPod Classic. If you look on this forum, you'll see lots of users like you with similar problems. Normally, I'd advise you to read this summary post of mine and consider downgrading to 10.4. But you want to sync both an iPhone and your classic, and you need 10.5.x if you want to use the iCloud features. So I'm not sure what to advise, other than to use the correct USB ports and possibly to disable realtime virus scanning during your sync efforts.

ITunes freezes when I try to sync iPod
I have a 80GB iPod Classic and I just recently switched from a PC to Mac. Ever since the switch I haven't been able to sync with my iTunes library. I plug the iPod in, it recognizes it, begins syncing, and after 50 or so songs everything freezes. At this point all I can do is unplug the iPod (which I know is bad for it, but I have no other option - I've tried waiting several hours and it doesn't unfreeze).
During one of my attempts, I was able to update my iPod software and re-format it to Mac, so I know that is not the problem. I have tried resetting my iPod as well.
Thanks in advanceI have always had this iPod with Mac, but having the same exact problem. It seems others are too, but nobody has any suggestions. Apple doesn't seem to offer any updates or patches even though i've reported this problem at least 20 times. Guess we're screwed.

Error message when I try to sync ipod
itunes says it cannot sync to the ipod because there's no room on the ipod. I restored the ipod and there's nothing on the ipod, but itunes won't sync.
You cannot sync the entire iTunes library if the total size of your library is more than the capacity of your iPod. If that is the case, you need to create one or more playlists. Put songs on the playlist(s) so that the total size of all the songs (repeated songs are counted only once) is less than the capacity of the iPod. Then, on the iPod's Music tab in iTunes, set it to +Sync Music+ from +Selected playlists+ and only check the box for the playlist or playlists you created (for the iPod).

Windows vista tells me iTunes has stopped working when I try to sync iPod
I recently downloaded the newest version of iTunes (8.0.2.20), thanks to its incessantly asking me to. Since I downloaded, every time I attempt to sync to my iPod classic, Windows tells me iTunes has stopped working and forces me to close the program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not sure if it's taboo on these boards or not, but this is just a friendly "bump" to see if it might catch the eye of someone who has discovered a fix for this behavior.
I did discover a couple of suggestions in my research, neither of which proved helpful to me. The first was to disable the sync function for contacts with Outlook (no joy). The second was to delete the Sync Services folder (which I "temporarily" deleted, but still no joy).
I have found resources that purport to provide sync control over your iPod without using iTunes. They look to be about a $40 gamble, but I may have to try that route (but would really hope that one of the smart people here would have ideas beyond Apple's "elementary "R's"").

please help....This is my first time syncing to itunes and it it asking me to allow access, please respond on your ipad. this is my problem becuase my display not showing up so i cannot respond.
the only thing i can think of that happened was when there was a software update a few days and thats it.
Anyone know how i can get this resolved please and thank you.Try this before trying to sync. Press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.
