When I use punctuation at the end of a line of text, it jumps to the front and vice versa?

This has been happening on and off for the past couple of months.
When I type a scentence that either begins or ends with any kind of punctuation, the punctuation jumps to the opposite side of the text.
ie. What's New? becomes ?What's New
Sometimes closing photoshop works to fix it, sometimes restarting my computer works, and sometimes it just stops on its own.
I end up having to creeate the punctuation in a seperate text layer and my layers end up a little messy.
I'm using Photoshop CS6. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'll post what I did here in case anyone happens upon this thread with the same problem.
Go to Edit > Preferences > Type - make sure 'Middle Eastern' is selected
If it's not selected, select it and restart photoshop. If it is selected, close preferences and move to the next step.
Go to Type > Lauguage Options - Select Middle Eastern Features
Go to your Paragraph Panel, and make sure this is selected:

It's my understanding that an iPhone can only sync with one computer. You need to choose one computer. Sounds like it syncs at work, but not at home. If you want to just sync it at home, then you have to make sure the home computer has all the info that you want on it, like music etc. Then you have to deauthorize the work computer for it to sync at home. When you connect it will ask if you want to set up as a new iPhone or restore from backup. If you don't have a backup on the home computer then either way you will be wiped clean. So any photos, contacts, notes etc you have will be erased. You would need to backup or copy your photos from your iPhone. When you connect it to your home computer, it will give you that popup message to open your iPhone files. Then you can copy those photos and save them onto your computer and sync them back in through iTunes.
For your contacts, do you use any type of address book? If so you'll want to back that up and then transfer to your home computer. For notes, you can just email those to yourself and then save that email. I use MobileMe so the contacts issue is easily resolved.

It could be that the existing wire in your appartment is not clean enough to provision DSL only. When combined with the phone possibly it has a higher line voltage and worked before. Now that the line is to be provisioned without phone service it may be giving them trouble that did not show before they came out and ran the new line test. So a new jack dedecated for your DSL line may require a new wire be run to your appartment. Also the account for internet only used to require direct billing to a credit card or something else. This was a number of years ago. Most accounts are linked to a phone number, and without a voice number it adds to the confusion.
If you are getting the voice and everything turned on as before, then I am at a loss for words.

Your messages may be synced with your email server, but whether you have read it or not is device-dependent. That information is not synced.

Keyboard - when I press the z key the y character appears on the screen and vica versa.

I upgraded the software on by Q10 yesterday and now have a problem with the z and y characters. Any ideas how to fix this?

Isn't it a keyboard layout setting?
Like a shift between AZERTY and QWERTY for example. Check in the language input section of the preferences and see if you can find a solution there.

Hey I just got a Mac book pro and have an I-phone how do you sync the mail on the computer with the mail in the phone?? I ask because once I delete the messages on the computer try aren't deleting on the phone and vice versa so I wind up reading 2x

You may already have one. E-mail servers provide support for POP or IMAP, and sometimes both. How you access the account depends on how you set it up on your device. You'll need to check with your e-mail provider and see if they support accessing your account via IMAP. If they do, you'll need to re-create the account on both the Mac and the iPhone to use the IMAP settings instead of the POP settings. (Note that when you delete a POP account, all e-mail in the In box will be deleted. Move any e-mail you don't want to lose into an "On My Mac" mailbox on the Mac beforehand.)
Also, if you have set the iPhone to sync e-mail messages in iTunes, turn that off. You won't need that with IMAP.

My iMac does not see the windows machines on the network (and vice versa)

I'm runningOS X 10.8.2 on my iMac which attachs to the office network using Wi-Fi.
It's on the right network (it's not attaching to the Wi-Fi router in the bulding next door) - I've checked the SSID and it's also being issued the right IP address by the router.
I can ping the Windows machines and they can ping my iMac. The issue is that I simply CANNOT share files back and forth.
At seemingly randoms times, I can, and I have File Sharing enabled in Sharing (remember, and RANDOM times I CAN see the Windows machines and they can see the iMac...BUT, it's random).
Thoughts?

More than likely your area has very significant RF interference in channels 1-6. The interference is making those channels unusable by you.

My "volume up" button also turns off the ipod and vice versa? help!

I got my ipod touch 2g about a week or 2 ago, everything worked fine until today. After coming back from lunch, i sat down in my office and turned on my touch and quickly noticed the volume went up by itself for no reason. i turned it off and on a couple of times but the problem persists. So i reset the ipod, turned it off and on a couple more times, reset the setting and even software restored it. It didn't work. Now both my power and volume up button does the same thing -- turns the ipod off and volume up at the same time. so when i press the power or volume up button, the volume goes up, and the ipod turns off as soon as i let go of it.
I just upgraded to 3.0 couple days ago, i dont' know if thats the problem but as of the ipod its in a 99% mint condition and the buttons dont feel to be broken at all. I even downgraded to 2.2.1 to see if that would solve the problem, and it didnt.

I am also almost having this same exact problem. The only difference for me though is that if I completely power off the touch it won't power on again until I plug it in. The battery isn't dead, it just won't power on until the sync cord is plugged in to the computer or I put the touch on my Ihome's dock. Other than that my up volume acts just like the power button. It all started shortly after I installed 3.0. I have restored, let the battery die, and reset but it still does the same thing. I've only had it a few months, but it's still under warranty so I guess I'm gonna hafta see what the "geniuses" think.

Stupid newbie question here: When setting up for hot sync, both PC and smartphone will ask for "device name" but how do I know which devide I'm naming? If I'm on the phone, do I specify the phone or the computer; and vice versa.

It's more like naming the partnership. By "naming" your device is doesn't do anything harmful. If you name it Pat's Treo, when syncing it tot he computer, hotsync will say "Syncing with Pat's Treo." You can name your device Fido for all it matters.

Normally if a Mac boots to a desktop screen with an option to enter a 4 or 6 digit code, then the machine has been locked by Find My Mac (an iCloud service).
The only way to have this unlocked is either type in the 4 or 6 digit code that was set up on the iCloud webpage when locking the mac or take the machine to an Apple Store or authorized service provider to have them unlock the machine but they will need to verify that your account locked the machine etc.

Cannot play swf made on a Mac on the PC and vice versa

Hi,
I have some avi files that I need to turn into swf. When I convert them to flv files using adobe media converter on the PC then put them into flash and export as swf files, they look good on the pc but will not show on the mac (just white box). Conversley when I make swf files on the Mac (using the FLV files from the PC) they look OK on the mac but do not work on the PC? Any ideas how to fix this?

Might be a strange internal referencing problem (delimiters differ on Mac and PC) Embedding flvs in the swf causes many problems with audiosynch etc. If your videofiles are longer than 1 minute you should go for the streaming option

Without buying a new phone you can test this. Unplug the phone that has the combination button. If its a cordless phone base station with multiple handsets, make sure you unplug those as well. Then use a regular phone plugged in to do test calls (if you dont have one you could maybe borrow one for a couple minutes from a friend, family, or neighbor).

Removing punctuation from the beginning and end of a string

I am working on a project for a "spell checking" program. So far the StringHash class is made, and the dictionary is read into a hash table. Then the document to be checked is specified via command line, the document scans through each word and checks to see if it is in the dictionary, if it is do nothing, if it is not then display it to console. The problem I am having is with a method in the main class. The method (I will post what I have so far) is called removePunct. The method should remove any punctuation from the beginning and the end of the string, nothing from the middle. Here is what I have so far:

What I need the spell checker to do is read each word, and strip any beginning or ending punctuation, e.g. (c) would become c. Pretty much punctuation consists of anything that is not a letter, hence the use of isLetter. I can easily modify the method to remove all punctuation using regular expressions, but I only want the beginning and end characters removed.
Example of words:
-yacc.c would become yacc.c and is not in the dictionary so it would be printed.
