Where do I call to change my NAT configuration from "Moderate" To "open"?

I have already port forwarded, reset modem for 5 minutes, tried new IP adress, Switched in between wired and wireless, and nothing happens.

#1 What is the brand and model of your modem?
#2 What is the brand and model of your router?

  • Changing NAT type from moderate to open for PS3 on...

    Hello,
    Pretty simple really.
I want to be able to change my NAT type from Moderate to Open whilst playing FIFA 12 on the PS3.
I am using a BT Home Hub 2. I have read various posts about Port Forwarding and DMZ but what is the method that will open the NAT type indefinitely. I have read that it can only be altered temporarily due to the Home Hub updating it's settings periodically and re-enabling the firewall.
Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to configure that with your router. Type your router's IP address in the search/domain bar and allow port forwarding.
What is requiring you to have an open NAT? That issue is usually for gaming consoles, etc.

  • XBOX LIVE. HOW TO CHANGE NAT TYPE FROM MODERATE TO OPEN, HELP:(

I am completely stumped. I am not a technical person but I'll explain the best I can. I have an airport express.. that's connected to my westell wirespeed modem which gives wireless internet to all my computers at my house.
i also play xbox. i use the internet sharing feature on one of our mac mini's to connect to the xbox. however, the nat type is moderate. i have no idea how to change this to open. please help cuz its frustrating because i pay 60 dollars a year and i do not get the most of my subscription. for example, i can't join party's or join some games..
and also, i read online that if i put my ip address to the address bar, you could change your nat type. but the problem is, every ip address i put into the address bar, nothing comes up. in my airport utility, it says my ip address is like 10.0.1.1.
i am so confused. please help!!!!!!!!!

  • I am trying to change my NAT type from strict to Open so i can play with my friends but i dont know how to do it on my Apple Airport. Help please?!?!

    .

Unfortunately, the AirPorts are not listed as Xbox Live-compatible routers ... so there is no guarantee doing this will get Open NAT status for Xbox Live!
The following web blog does a great job explaining the NAT issues with Xbox Live! Basically what it comes down to is that although you can get an Internet connection for the Xbox with the AirPorts, you may not get the necessary NAT setting (Moderate or Open) for the Xbox Live! on-line game that you want to play. As such, you basically have two options: 1) Create a DMZ (Apple calls this a Default Host) for the XBox or 2) Configure the AirPort for Port mapping to open the required ports to allow Xbox Live! access ... or 3) Use a compatible router.
    Option 1 - Create a DMZ
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT
Enable default host at: <Enter the IP Address for the XBox>
Option 2 - Configure Port Mapping
The following ports must be available for Xbox Live to operate correctly:
    UDP 88
    UDP 3074
    TCP 3074
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the Xbox 360.
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab
Click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
    Reserve address by: MAC Address
    Click Continue.
MAC Address: <Enter the MAC hardware address of the Xbox or the MAC address of the wireless depending on how you connect the XBox to the network.>
IPv4 Address: <enter the desired Private IP address>
    Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AirPort.
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT > Configure Port Mappings
    Click the "+" (Add) button
Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    Public UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Public TCP Port(s): 3074
Private IP Address: <enter the DHCP Reserved IP address for the Xbox you created earlier>
    Private UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Private TCP Port(s): 3074
    Click "Continue"

  • Can't change NAT type from moderate to open.

Hi, this is my first post.
As the title says, my NAT is always moderate in CoD BO2 on the PC, when i was with Virgin cable it was always open.
It being moderate is causing me disconnection problems, which is a huge PITA in gaming.
Things i have tried in order to correct the problem :
    1. I have forwarded all of the correct ports.
    2. I have turned off the homehub's firewall.
    3. I have given the PC a static IP address (in the correct range, i've worked in IT for over 20 years now).
    4. I have turned off the Windows firewall (which was allowing BO2 anyway).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Changing Nat settings from moderate to Open

    How do I do this.

I guess you want to do this for using the x-box with the router. For this , access the router from the wired computer using http://192.168.1.1 . The default password is admin
On the web ui , click on the "Applications and Gaming" tab and forward port 88 and 3074 for the ip add of the x-box .
Go to the "setup" tab and change the MTU size to 1365

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP

What device is upstream from the router?  If you have a modem that acts as a router as well, then you might have a double NAT problem.  It's a well documented problem and can usually be solved by bridging the modem or configuring the router to work as a switch only.

  • Changing the NAT from Moderate to Open.

When I try to join games on HALO 3, it says that my NAT (network adress translation) is moderate and that it needs to be open. How do I change it? I have a WRT54G router.

You can try opening the ports on routers set up page ,by logging to 192.168.1.1.
Under "applications & gaming" tab ,you will find port forwarding use ports 88 & 3074 .
You have to assign static Ip ,subnet mask ,gateway & DNS nos to Gaming Console .
Also under set up tab ,look for MTU change it to "manual" & size to 1365....also, if you get any more port numbers for the HALO3 , try forwading that as well.
Let me know if these settings work .

  • How do i change my NAT settings on my wrt54gs wireless router?

when i go to play Halo 3 it says my NAT settings are strict and it lets me in the room but then it boots me right out. I was wondering how i change my NAT settings from strict to open?
    Thanks,

Usually when you have NAT problems with xbox live it is because you dont have the ports forwarded. Here is the artical from Microsoft on this issue. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874 Message Edited by JjEjFjF on 05-18-2008 08:26 PM You should also set the MTU as discribed above. If it were an MTU issue, you would have gotten an MTU failure on the xbox connection test.
