which library must be linked to ?
I believe you need to compile it with the makefile. Type
make -f demo_makefile.mk cdemo81.cfrom the directory and it should work.
This worked for everyone else but in my computer I then get
libcltsh.so.8.0 not found (although the driver is there)
Anyone hope it works for you

SQL Developer 3.2 crashes with java error when using OCI/Thick Driver
I just installed SQL Developer 3.2 on my linux desktop. SQL Developer crashes with a java error when I select a database from the object tree.
When I check Use OCI/Thick driver the application will crash when I navigate to the tree and open a database.
The app does not crash then I have Use OCI/Thick driver unchecked.
Here are some details of my environment:
Desktop OS: Fedora 17 Linux
$ uname -a
Linux 3.5.1-1.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Aug 9 17:50:43 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

My configuration is:
- Windows 64-bit
- Java 64-bit (1.6.0.34)
- SQL Developer 3.2.09 64-bit
- OCI Instant client 11.2.0.3 64-bit (without installation).
The thing that solved the problem was copying two files, ojdbc5.jar and ojdbc6.jar, from Instant client installation folder to JAVA_HOME/lib/ext folder+.
After that, I haven't had a single crash or error message.
The same trick that solved the problem on 64-bit installation also solved the problem on another windows computer with 32-bit SQL Developer installation. -
Linking errors when using ibsta
Hello,
I have been trying to write C code to automate a Keithley 2410 through GPIB. I am using Windows XP 32-bit, and VC++.
I believe I was successful in getting a handle to the gpib-32.dll. However, I am getting a linking error when I try to use ibsta: 1>helloworld.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _ibsta
1>C:\Documents and Settings\Prober\My Documents\C Programs\helloworld\Debug\helloworld.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals
However, when I look through the ni488.h, I see that ibsta is a global variable. Therefore I am confused as to why I am getting a linking error
I am following this guide: http://na.tm.agilent.com/pna/help/latest/Programming/GPIB_Example_Programs/GPIB_using_Visual_C++.htm
My code is attached

The National Instruments folder might be in a sub-folder of Public or Public Documents. Look at the ReadMe.txt file first. It contains a C++ section. Then try compiling the example and see what happens.

DB Link problem when used in Package
I have written the following code which works from sql window in TOAD
SELECT ccs_cust_seq.nextval ccs_customer_no,
SUBSTR(orig_system_reference,4,6) badge_code,
'A' status,
customer_id ora_cust_no,
orig_system_reference,
customer_name
FROM suk_ccs_ra_customers@suk_ccs;
suk_ccs is a database link
when I put this code in a cursor in a package and compile I get the following error
CURSOR cust_cur
IS
SELECT ccs_cust_seq.nextval ccs_customer_no,
SUBSTR(orig_system_reference,4,6) badge_code,
'A' status,
customer_id ora_cust_no,
orig_system_reference,
customer_name
FROM suk_ccs_ra_customers@suk_ccs;
PL/SQL: ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object user.SUK_CCS_RA_CUSTOMERS@db_link_name
ORA-06553: PLS-215: String length constraints must be in range (1 ..32767
this error happens to all cursors which use the database link
Any help appreciatedHow is the definition of the table in the remote database? Does the error-message occure too, if you create a local view based on the remote table and use it in your cursor? Are there values larger then 32767 characters in a column of the remote table?
In PL/SQL a varchar2 variable are able to store max. 32767 bytes.

i have all the issues stated in my question as of this morning. they werent there last night. WTF happened to my beloved firefox? BTW,
I got an amd dual core 4000, nvidia gtx 9800, 4 gigs ram, running on windows xp sp3.
BTW, windows updated last night, and thats when i got the problems

I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -
Unsatisfied Link Error when using Oracle OCI (Type II) driver
Using Oracle OCI (Type II) driver on HPUX with Oracle 9.2.0.4.
If when creating a connection pool via the console, using the Oracle OCI (Type
II) driver, you get the error "Unsatisfied link error with library libocijdbc9.sl
or format error" then check that the library included in the SHLIB_PATH is pointing
at the $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 directory and not just the $ORACL_HOME/libWe do not offer a JDBC driver for Linux in version 5.1. In version 6.0,we
do offer a type 4 driver for Linux.
In version 5.1, I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver
available for free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver)
with WebLogic Server. To download it:
Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
select Oracle JDBC drivers
From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
the top).
Or, to go directly there:
http://technet.oracle.com/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/software_index.htm

Reports iview (no link display when using mss id)
Hi experts,
I try to add new reports to MSS Reports Iview
I have configured the reports in SPRO ->Personnel
Management -> Manager's Desktop -> Enhancement of Function Codes ->
Define Function Codes,Define Object Type_Specific Function Codes, and
Define Structure of Function Codes.
After that i can see the report through fpb_launchpad_cust and can
preview in portal (using administrator).
But when i login to portal using the mss id, i cannot see the link in reports iview.
Is there any other configuration i need to do?
Thanks for assistance,
Nanie ArianieHi Anil,
The standard mss report iview (com.sap.pct.hcm.rpt_reportselection) is link to page which i created.
For your info, the MSS user is already using the reporting page. I just need to add one new reports under Time Management.
Is there any other configuration besides define function codes in Manager's Desktop?
TQ.

[att1.html]We do not offer a JDBC driver for Linux in version 5.1.

TOC links fail when using book function for interactive pdf output
I have a large print publication consisting of multiple files using the Indesign book function. I have created a Table of Contents in the first document (there are multiple files in this book), but when I save to interactive pdf to create a digital version the TOC links are lost. They only work within the first document.
I have read numerous forums but cannot resolve this issue with the combination of:
1. TOC creation
2. Using Indesign Book Function
3. Multiple documents in the one book
4. Interactive Pdf output required
I look forward to answers???Nybor123 wrote:
I am on CC version 9.0 but am updating CC as I type this in the hope this may have some answers?
If you are on CC, you should update your InDesign version to 9.2.1 as it is the latest version. Then you should open the TOC definitions, check it, activate the new add anchor on destiny function and save. Now you should actualize all TOCs.
The TOC functionality has been improved and changed between 9.0 and 9.2. If you update your files accordingly you will suffer less pain. -
How to fix "Must be literal" error when using a4j:keepAlive tag?
Hi everybody,
When I use <a4j:keepAlive> tag of Richfaces like this:
<a4j:keepAlive beanName="#{templateController.currentType}"/>I got the an error like this:
/templates.xhtml @20,91 <a4j:keepAlive beanName="#{templateController.currentType}"> Must be literalIn my class, I have declared as:
class TemplateController{
private TemplateType currentType;
public void setCurrentType(TemplateType type) {
public TemplateType getCurrentType() {
}I implemented as guide from Richfaces document but don't know why this happened.
Could anyone tell me why? Please help me to fix it.
I really appreciate it,

Edited by: Ringo.CS on Jun 19, 2008 3:43 AMNo, the error message says that the value must be a literal and thus not an EL. I don't know anything about Ajax4jsf (you're in the wrong place to ask questions about it, rather use the forums of the Ajax4jsf manfacturer at jboss.com), but the attributename and errormessage together makes it logical to put just the raw managed bean name in there. If this is not what you're after, then just consult their documentation and forums at jboss.com.

Need to select link twice when using Browser back button
I see that my command_link works fine in normal scenarios.
But when I come to that page using browser back button and then select the link within the page.... the first time, looks like its regenerating the page and only when I select the link second time it is calling the action listener associated with the link.
Any clue as to how to fix this problem?
Thanksuse the following lines in your web.xml to avoid this bug of the current jsf-ri version.
<context-param>
<param-name>javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD</param-name>
<param-value>client</param-value>
</context-param>I already tried to report this bug some time ago:

"caching-descriptor" must be declared error when using ejbc on WLS6.0 with EJB 1.1
I'm compiling with ejbc an entity bean .jar. Using WLS 6.0. In the ejb-jar.xml,
I've set version to EJB 1.1. I've made sure the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml has the caching-descriptor
element defined (used to work with WLS 5.1).
Thanks.

Linking error when using C++ DLL for writing TDM files
I try to integrate TDM into my C++ code. Then I downloaded the package from the NI website "Integrating TDMS in Third-Party Products". I tested the the sample "writeFile.c". But a linking error as following occurred:
1>Linking...
1>nilibddc.lib(implib.obj) : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol __imp__wsprintfA referenced in function _LoadDLLIfNeeded
1>.\Debug/Test TDM.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals
Can anyone help me out. Many thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.I migrated my code from VC++ 6 compiler to VC++ 2005. Then linking errors are gone.
nilibddc.lib(implib.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol ___security_cookie
nilibddc.lib(implib.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol @__security_check_cookie@4
P.S. "Read me" from NI says "The Microsoft 32-bit format is compatible with Microsoft Visual C version 6.0". But I tested the code with VC++6 professional with SP6 package and upgrade the SDK to the latest version that supports vc6. I still have the linking errors. My test seems prove that the dll does not support VC6.
