While working in iMovie, computer shut down and all imported clips from that project disappeared. The project still existed, with titles, but all video clips were gone from the movie as well as the computer library.

Clips were imported from SD card into iMovie project. While working on the project, computer shut down. When restarted, all clips from that event were no longer in the project, or in the computer library. Project existed, with titles, but blank spaces exist where clips had been.

OH MY GOD! This EXACT thing just happened to me! It didn't save my event and didn't show the date in the iMovie library but if I look under all projects, the project is there. Except that there are little blank place holders where all my clips were. Also the title of the project has a little yellow "!" symbol next to it which I can only assume means that the file is corrupted.
I can't believe it destroyed like 8 hours of work!
I have a 15" mid 2011 MBP and Mavericks OS.

Check to see if they are on your calendar on icloud.com. If they aren't, all you can do is try to restore to your last backup, although it isn't clear that calendar events are included in the iCloud backup.

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

When I put my macair to sleep overnight and want to put it back on in the morning, it says that it had a problem shutting down and all my work is lost. Is that normal?

So shouldn't I use the sleep mode over night is that too long and causes it to crash? Or should I take it to a apple store for them to check it out?

Overnight isn't too long for sleep mode. I do it all of the time with no problem. However, I save everything first so I would not have the "all my work is gone" issue even if there was a problem. I would have it checked out.

My I phone 5 got very hot actually boiling hot although it was not exposed to any external heat ...it was fully charged and within 10 minutes it was half charged 50% and within one minute it was shut down ... Tried re charging through the computer and through the power but no response the phone is totally black... Tried connecting to I tunes and no response.. The thing is that I bought the I phone 5 on the 23 rd December 2012 from Manhattan new York and I live in Qatar and there is no service centre in qatar .. Well, I checked the iphone and the battery charged going from the bolt to the plug in the upper right hand corner very quickly. On my other cell phones, charging took a REAL long time.
Again, is this normal? I unplugged the iphone from the charger and I am going to monitor the battery power today. I find it odd that the battery would work on standby for 4 days without recharging the battery and then start doing something wacky. Any thoughts?

I have a new l7 macbook pro running snow leopard. When I try to boot into windows7 32bit, I get either a blue, black, or flickering screen. Then I have to physically shut down and try again. At that point it will load correctly. Any help?

I have a new l7 Macbook Pro running snow leopard. When I tried to to install windows 7 32 bit on bootcamp, I kept getting a flicking black and blue screen when it tried to install. (Tried several times). I finally downloaded the bootcamp windows support to a flash. I inserted that and finally got it installed. Now when I try to boot into windows I get either a solid black (sometimes blue) or flickering screen and windows will not start up. If I then physically shut down the mac and restart, it will finally boot into windows where it tells me that windows was shut down unexpectently and once I click start windows normally, it will boot up. That will generally let me boot into windows for the remaining of the day. The next day, the same thing happens again. I have tried reinstalling several times, and the same thing keeps happening. It is not my windows disk because it installs flawlessly on the mid 2008 macbook pro. Anyone know how to fix this?

Premiere pro cc 2014 just abruptly shut down and now will not open my project please help...

Hi! I was browsing my facebook account when my iphone 3G restarted on its own. The apple icon appeared and when the "restarting" process was over, I lost all my installed apps, the contents of my phonebook were gone, all text meassages saved were also gone. It was as if I had a new phone again. I am really lost now and I don't know if there is a way of retrieving my contacts and my messages. I upgraded to OS5 yesterday and all my contacts including names, email addresses, and phone numbers have been deleted. When I tried to revert to a previous back up, the only one was the one that was done right before I downloaded the new OS. All other previous backups were gone. In addition, I bought 40.00 worth of extra storage space to back up to iCloud and had to start it over several times before it finally worked...25 hours later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am MAD that the new OS download procedure deleted EVERYTHING in my contacts. The only thing that remains are my favorited phone numbers but none of them are labeled so I have no idea who anyone is except I sort of know where some people were on the list. This is HORRIBLE and so far I've seen hundreds of these exact kinds of posts all over the Net, not just here on the Apple website. I've done everything I could on my own and tried several things that have been suggested by other Apple users here in the forum. Nothing has worked and evidently nothing was saved to my iCloud storage, either. Now I'm having to pay for a 1pm phone call with tech support that I'm sure will cost me a freaking fortune to tell me that I'm screwed-and that'll be 75.00, please.
