same like if i wan' t to see the partial Procedure what end all the parameter there who to check it?The data dictionary includes thes views:
USER_PROCEDURES     which has one row per stored procedure in your schema
USER_ARGUMENTS     which has one row per argument (or parameter) to each stored procedure or function in your schema
USER_OBJECTS     which has one row per package, package body, procedure or function in your schema. (It also includes tables, synonyms, etc., but you can query it saying "WHERE object_type IN ('PACKAGE', 'PACKAGE BODY', 'PROCEDURE', 'FUNCTION')")
USER_SOURCE     which has one row per line of code in any of your packages, package bodies, procedures or functions
There are also views starting with ALL_ (such as ALL_PROCEDURES, ALL_ARGUMENTS, ...) for objects in any schema that you are allowed to use.
There are also views starting with DBA_ (such as DBA_PROCEDURES, ...) for objects in any schema, whether you have privileges on them or not, but you might not have privileges to see the DBA_ views.

  • How can I store the results of a report in an Oracle table ?

In OBIEE 11g, we need the records resulting from the execution of a report, to be stored in an Oracle table.
    Is this possible ?. Thanks.

GSR Hi, first of all thanks for your response.
What I'm wanting to do is not exactly what you're proposing.
What I want is that an end user can run a report and that the results be automatically stored in an Oracle table. Without manual intervention. Other BI products perform this action, and I need to do it with OBIEE. Thanks.

Oracle Forms is closely tied to the database meaning you can base your data blocks on your tables and Forms will handle fetching the data. I agree with Christian, your tables lend themselves to using a master - detail configuration and if you need to filter your block then you can use the Data Block WHERE Clause property.
Please correct this code and send me pls its urgent. As to the urgency of your request, the forum is a community of "Volunteers." Enough said.
Regarding your code, I see a several potential problems.
First, how are your QUOTA_MAST and QUOTA_DET blocks synchronized? Are you using a block relationship? Are you using a combination of triggers to synchonize the QUOTA_DET block when you user navigates to a different record in the QUOTA_MAST block?
Second, your Procedure name is "Fetch_Detail_Proc" but you are also fetching Master data as well. What is the purpose of your procedure and where do you call this procedure?
Third, you're using SELECT * in your cursor queries. You should always explicitly name each column. What happens when your table changes and you need to search your code for a column that was dropped?
Fourth, your cursor queries are referencing the same data blocks you are fetching data to populate. This gives the impression that you already have data in your block. This doesn't make sense - could you explain what you are trying to accomplish?
Fifth, with respects to your code, the "Invalid Cursor" error (is this really the error you're getting?) is most likely caused by your explicit call to close the C1 cursor. As Andreas stated, when using a CURSOR FOR LOOP, the cursor is automatically opened, fetched and closed using this construct. There is no need to explicitly close the cursor, in fact - doing so will result in an invalid cursor error.
As to the "Record must be entered" error, is sounds like you have required items in your block or your QUOTA_MAST block is not synchronized with your QUOTA_DET block, so when you attempt to navigate to a different block or record within your the same block the navigation cursor can't move because you haven't entered data that is required.
Please tell us what you are attempting to do with this code so we can tell you if you are using the correct method.

  • How to check the row level security in TOAD for oracle

    Hi ,
for ex, i have 2 types of users
    normal user and super user
super user can see the group set (some column name) created by normal user
but normal user can not see the set created by super user
this set crestion aslso has 3 types "U','P',S'
P & S can be viewed by even normal user
    but U should not
so here we are having some row level security for the normal user .....
So, in TOAD for oracle how to check that......
Let me know if i'm not clear

    Like
    I'm the super user....
And some records are inserted to a table by different users ('a' , 'b', etc....)
So,if user 'a' logins then he can be able to see only the records inserted by 'a' only...
how to see in TOAD where such type of scripts (filter conditions) are written.....

  • How to copy the output of procedure to a view or table

    Hi...
I created a procedure using Hana Studio and it returns the multiple rows as output.
My query is , how to copy the output to a table or view when it is called like this "cal _SYS_BIC.procedureName "
Please go through the following image:
How to copy the output content to a table or view....
    Thank u...

    Hi Mohan,
The logic is like, you can attach a view(so called column view) to any procedure which returns a result set. SO, instead of calling the procedure using CALL statement, you can simply query the VIEW to get the result set. Internally the procedure will be executed.
    Have a look here :
    http://help.sap.com/hana/SAP_HANA_SQL_Script_Reference_en.pdf
    Eg :
You create a procedure using a result view ProcView to return its results.
CREATE PROCEDURE ProcWithResultView(IN id INT, OUT o1 CUSTOMER) LANGUAGE SQLSCRIPT
READS SQL DATA WITH RESULT VIEW ProcView
    AS
    BEGIN
    o1 = SELECT * FROM CUSTOMER WHERE CUST_ID = :id;
    END;
You call this procedure from an SQL statement as follows.
    SELECT * FROM ProcView WITH PARAMETERS ('placeholder' = ('$$id$$', '5'));
Hope this helps you to solve the issue

  • How to know the specific size of a field in oracle table

    Hello,
    oracle 11.2.0.3 on redhat
i have three tables with same structure, table0, table50, table100:
    create table table0 (id number, shipment RAW(2000), options RAW(2000));
i inserted 10000 rows in each but with some differences:
table0 has 10000 id, but shipment and options has null values
table50 has 10000 id, but shipment and options has only 5000 rows, the other 5000 are null values
table100 has 10000 rows of id, shipment and options. No null values.
I want to know the specific size of each column, also the size of each row, to know the exactly size of the field.
    for example:
row 1, column options of table100 has "asdfasdfagasdgasbabsdgoasdpgiahnwe1129u412094u12"
row 2, column options of table100 has "a".
both are raw datatype, but i think its space will has different size (bytes), how to know it? any query?
    I found this query:
    select owner,tablespace_name,segment_name,sum((bytes/1024/1024)) Bytes
    from sys.dba_extents
where owner in 'MAA' and segment_type='TABLE' and segment_name ='TABLE00'
    group by tablespace_name,owner,segment_name
order by owner,tablespace_name,segment_name, bytes; but i think it isn't my solution.

    thx mr. sb92075
i tried with vsize too but same result:
    with table50
    SELECT VSIZE(OPTIONS) FROM TABLE00;
    VSIZE(OPTIONS)
                 1000
                 1000
                 1000
                 1000
                   *with table100
    SELECT VSIZE(OPTIONS) FROM TABLE100;
    VSIZE(C_ELECCION)
                 2000
                 2000
                 2000
                 2000
*it's the same size for 'a' like 'abcasdfjañldngaosnbaposnbpaosuqroiwejrklasndiaoshbaposdjgajs'?? It's hard for me to believe.
data is saved in blocks, a extents is a contiguos number of blocks and a group of extensions are segments. If you insert some text in a table field, Oracle create a extension and insert there the data but depend the bytes you insert Oracle will create one or more extents. How to know this specific space in that field?

  • How to change the location of a column in a Oracle table?

    Sir:
I want to add a new column in a table, but I dont want to add the column at the last of the table, how can I do it ? If I want to modify the locations of columns in a table, How can do it?
    Thanks

You can't modify the order of columns in a table, though there shouldn't be any particular reason to care about the order of columns.
You can always create a view over the table that SELECT's the columns in the order you want, though.

When you've checked the manuals and identified the views suggested by other posters you will find that it's still not a trivial problem since a role may be granted to another role - which means you need to do some recursion to uncover all the privileges available to a role.
Pete Finnigan - who specialises in Oracle security - published some appropriate scipts a few years ago; they are probably still relevant. Here's a starting link: http://www.petefinnigan.com/weblog/archives/00001243.htm

    Hi Saurabh,
You need to create ABAP program in which you check the values for required process chain in
    following table
    RSPCLOGCHAIN (Feilds ANALYZED_STATUS LOG_ID)
Depend on values you can trigger next process or you can wait unitil this process chain complete.you need to check status from table using ABAP.
If you are not aware about how to write ABAP program then take help from ABAP Team.

We need to provide an upload functionality to the user, so that he can upload an excel file into the form (from the local system), this is achived.
Now what we need to do is that we need to capture the path of the document (in the local system) and we need to store the document in a Oracle table.
Next we need to validate the records that are being loaded and the error records should be written into one more file and that file also we need to store in an Oracle table, this is because, i need to query this error file from the table later and need to send to the user as an e-mail.

When you want to process the file, them it depends on the format. "Excel file" is a term that is used for a variety of file formats, mostly simple CSV, binary (true) XLS and XLSX.
So to get help you have to give us more information. Since the file is already in the db you might get better answers at {forum:id=75}. The forum has a FAQ that has a whole section {message:id=9360007}.

  • Checking the performance of Pl/SQL Procedure

I have a PL/SQL procedure of 10,000 lines, & I dont have any Tool of performance checking only thing I have is SQL Client & database how whould I check the performance of the procedure

Why do you want to check the performance? Have you indentified a specific problem?
It is not easy to to "simply check the performance" of code. Let's say it has an elapsed execution time of 90 seconds. What does that tell you? Fast? Slow? Average? What does 90 seconds tell you about the resource utilisation? Nothing much - are resources being red lined for those 90 seconds or not?
So unless there is a specific performance problem that has been diagnosed, e.g. the process uses too much PGA memory, you cannot really identify a performance problem.
What you can do is use DBMS_PROFILE (Oracle supplied PL/SQL package) to profile the execution time of the code. This will tell you which pieces of the code are slower than others. This allows you to focus on area where possible optimisation can reduce overall execution time - or it could be that these areas are already optimised.
What you can miss with this approach is a small loop that takes a few seconds to execute - less than 1% of the total elapsed execution time. But this loop can be very wrong and should have taken a few millisecs to do. A month later running against big production data volumes, this loop's runtime changes into minutes and over 50% of the overall execution time of the process.
You may look at the FOR CURSOR FETCH loop and see that it has been optimised. Great, so you move on to look at the next piece of code. Only, there are other loop constructs that can be exponentially faster than this loop - like a bulk processing loop instead.
You may look at a SQL that seems slow, but after investigation it seems to be optimal. And it could well be. But performance can be increased by 80% by not touching the SQL and instead changing the table's structure from a normal heap table to a ranged partitioned table.
The bottom line is that there are no magic wands and crystal balls that can be used to check performance and tell you that "abc" is wrong. Tools can tell you what is slow, what is resource expensive - but it cannot tell you whether the code does what it is suppose to do in the best and most effective way. Only a programmer can. Which means that things like code reviews, design walk-thru's and so on, are critical pieces to ensure that the code is performant and can scale.

I'm a Pro Tools user, who just did an "Archive and Install" installation of 10.5.8 over my 10.4.11 on my 2 Ghz G5, now Pro Tools won't launch.  I checked the extensions folder and sure enough, the digidesign extensions were left behind.  Can I revert back to the "Archive" of my 10.4.11 System from the "Previous Systems" folder?  If not, what's the point of creating the "archive"?

Did you select "Preserve User Settings"?
Archive and Install installation automatically moves existing system files to a folder named Previous System, then installs Mac OS X again. (See tip 3.) You cannot start up your computer using a Previous System folder, nor can you "re-bless" the Previous System folder. (See tip 1.)
You can choose to preserve your user and network settings before installing. This option automatically moves existing users, Home directories, and network settings. This also skips the Setup Assistant after installation.
Note: Because the "Preserve user and network settings" option moves, not copies, existing users, Home directories, and network settings, from the Previous Systems folder to the newly installed System, these items will not exist in the Previous Systems folder after the Archive and Install is complete.
